Is there a big difference in language between the regions in Italy or is it mostly just pronunciation?

Italian regional languages are not dialects of Italian. They all have distinct grammar, syntax, prosody and accent. Similarities are due to the fact that they’re all descended from the Latin spoken in the Italian peninsula, so they’ll be more akin to Italian (which derives from literary Tuscan, again, a regional language) than, say, Portuguese.

This blog is starting to lose its fun. I don't think some of you Italians from Italy have any appreciation for what migrant Italians have done to make your country a better place. Leaving in their millions would have relieved the economic strain all those years ago. But all you see is Italian American pop culture as defining them?

We know nothing about Italian Americans exactly like they know nothing about us, we never said we were better than them, we only said that Italians and Italian Americans are different. It’s pretty obvious but apparently a lot of people on this website seem not to understand it. Moreover we were only discussing on why some people think Italians are poc and it has come out from some asks that italian americans may have started that thing. We never talked of Italian American pop culture. We were peacefully discussing on the “poc Italians” subject and some people got offended without a reason. Just another thing: if you think this blog is losing its fun, why are you still here?
