There are things that threaten this peace, but for now the students are safe behind their castle walls. Someday soon, they will have to face the changing world. A new dawn is rising, but no one knows what day is coming.

Hi, all.
So since a few people still follow this blog, I thought I would make a post. I don’t know if anybody even still remembers this group, but it was my baby last spring.
So those who were a member of this group might remember how we disappeared, and I thought I would give you an explanation. Not long after we opened this group, we began having trouble finding the admins to keep it going. We lost one person who had helped get it started but decided it wasn’t for them. As I was bringing two people onto the team, I was feeling hopeful.
And then one of them turned out to be angry at me for something, and rather than tell me they changed the passwords on both the main and the email account so that we couldn’t have the group either.
I was angry and upset, and angrier and more upset over the fact that I felt this way over an rp group. But in six years of rping, this was my first really and truly nasty experience, and I honestly just felt sick. I just logged out of discord and tried not to think about it, because I didn’t want to feel as upset as I did and I didn’t want to point any fingers when I technically didn’t have any proof. This happened around in May.
Very recently (in October) I heard back from this person. They apologized, they explained where they were at when all of this went down. I understood, even if I didn’t think it excused their actions. But I appreciated they were trying to make things right, and they gave me the passwords to the accounts. I haven’t quite forgiven them, but I’m hoping to make my way there.
As for this group, I’m as in love with the idea and the characters as I was when I first created it. I am considering trying to launch it again, on a new main, with new graphics, and maybe developing our ideas and bios a little further. But I’m honestly not sure, I’m not totally certain I’d be able to get this group going without help and I’m not sure how comfortable I’d be opening it up to others again.
I’m sorry for the people who were excited for the group. I should have given you an explanation at the time, but I could barely even look at rp when it happened. If anyone is still interested in this group, I’d be happy to talk to you about a potential relaunch.

Hey, love! We adore Elle Fanning as a face claim, but unfortunately she is already in use as our lovely Carlie McLaggen. But we also haven’t updated our taken face claims page, so I will take it as a sign to do so! However, similar face claims could also work for characters like Emma Finch-Fletchley or Kendra Finnigan.

I am so happy to hear that you’re thinking about applying for Dominique! I’ve listed a few ideas, but if none of those suit your fancy, feel free to send another ask and we’ll brew up a few more.
Dom has tried many different activities in her life, but hasn’t been fully content with any of them. Select one (Quidditch, potions, fashion) and delve into why it didn’t sit well with her. At this point, Dominique is figuring out what suits her through a process of elimination.
Dom doubts her courage, and yet it still burns within her. Place her in a position where she feels incredibly anxious yet acts bravely (even if she doesn’t recognize it after the fact)
Explore who Dom is within her family. Have them on an outing – does Dom lead, or does she take a back seat? Is she happy amongst all her siblings? Does she wish that they were out doing something else?

When I met you in the summer, to my heartbeat sound
Letters have been delivered, prefect badges shined, and textbook lists handed out. We hope that you’ve had a summer for the ages and made memories to carry you through the coming term. If you haven’t, well you’ve got one more week to make up for it!
We know that there’s lot that needs to get done - you’ve got supplies to buy, new robes to get, people to visit, summer jobs to finish - but we hope you’ll remember to have fun before buckling down for the start of term. Maybe try stopping in at Hogsmeade, visiting your friends, or showing up to the annual Wotter’s end of summer bash this Tuesday. Just don’t forget that the train leaves on September 1st! Don’t be late!
It is opening day for New Dawn Rising! While we open for interactions at 3pm central, we wanted to give you our event a little early! Many of us are wrapping up our semesters or even getting out for the summer, so we thought NDR could have a little summer break of its own! The event will end on April 29th at 12pm central!
In the meantime, your threads can take place anywhere! Characters can bump into each other in Diagon Alley or perhaps on vacation. Starting Tuesday, you can attend James Potters end of summer party! Where does your character live when they’re not at Hogwarts? Who do they write to or spend their time with? What you do with this event is up to you!

Hey, dear! So Cass and I have discussed it and we will eventually look for a third admin. However, we plan on doing so after we open and we will look at admins from our members. So we definitely will in the future, but not actively at the moment.

Hannah Longbottom is a forty-one year old Hufflepuff alumni. She is a halfblood working as the Hogwarts matron and thinks she looks a bit like Katheryn Winnick.
COURAGE IS LIKE LOVE
The war never felt real to Hannah. It boiled up on the periphery of her life, and while she was willing to fight she never really thought it would touch her. That changed the day her mother died. By the time the last battle ended, Hannah was disillusioned with magic and simply wanted to search out happiness where she could have it. When she was offered the chance to return and finish out her last year at Hogwarts, she turned it down. Instead, she took up a job at the Three Broomsticks that let her meet interesting people and visit interesting places on her day off.
This was where she met Neville again. She had known him, of course, but not for who he was behind Dumbledore’s Army. She drew him back out into the world and he showed her the magic in life again. She was in love with him before she knew that they had begun, and she has never looked back. Her life with him as been everything she could have wished, with a husband she loved, a son and daughter she adored, and a life that she was excited to live.
Eventually, when her children were older and little Alice had begun at Hogwarts, Hannah found herself longing for more challenge than the Three Broomsticks could give her. With the support of her family, she finished her NEWTS and completed healer training just as Madame Pomfrey retired. It could not have been better timing. But it also means that Hannah is the one who receives students injured by accidents or fights, and she can’t help but notice the increase of the second and remember when she saw something very similar not 25 years before.
IT MUST HAVE HOPE FOR NOURISHMENT
Alice and Jonah Longbottom are Hannah’s children, whom she loves and could not be more proud of.
Neville Longbottom is Hannah’s husband whom she is still completely in love with, mimbulus mimbletonia and all.
Harper Darling is a student interested in becoming a healer, and who has begun interning under Hannah. Hannah’s grown very fond of her.
Parvati Patil and Hannah could hardly have been called close at Hogwarts, but have somehow become good friends since Hannah began working there.

Isadora Nott is a fifteen year old Gryffindor student. She is a pureblood in her 5th year and thinks she looks like Ana de Armas.
WHAT MAY LOOK LIKE A SMALL ACT OF COURAGE
By the time Isadora was born, several conflicts had been both had and ended. The dust from the Nott family schism had settled, and the only family Isa knew was one that had left the ideas of the old world behind in favor of each other. Her father and mother occasionally told her stories of the family they had lost, but she did not understand what had truly happened until she was older.
Isa hadn’t known the sting of loss in the same way her parents and half-brother had. Rather than grief, she only knew indignant anger at the rejection of people she never knew. She would spare no second thought to the people who hadn’t wanted her. She would therefore define herself according to the standards she set for herself. Her courage grew in a thousand little ways, safe as she was from the harsh world her mother and father had been born into. Their love gave her the courage to speak her mind when others said she should be silent and to stand up for her beliefs when the rest of the world might disagree.
She has always been a Gryffindor through and through. When she boarded the train, she could never have guessed that she would stumble upon a compartment by chance that contained three girls who would come to be her sisters. With Andie, Iris, and Carlie at her back, Isadora can only be braver still.
IS COURAGE NEVERTHELESS
Iris Zabini, Andromeda Malfoy, and Carlie McLaggen are Isa’s best friends and the sisters she never had.
Warren Nott is Isadora’s half-brother, to whom she is very close.
Evangeline Nott is Isadora’s cousin, who she passionately hates.
Alexa Fiorenza is someone Isadora looks up to and really admires. She has become a mentor to her.
Hugo Weasley and Isa were close friends when they were younger, but have drifted apart over the years.

Kaleb Finnigan is an eighteen year old Gryffindor student. He is a halfblood in his seventh year, and looks strikingly like Jack Falahee.
As long as I want, I have reason for living;
Kaleb grew up with the unfortunate weight of always wanting to be something just a little bit more than he was. His family had a home in the countryside, but he longed for a house by the lake. He scored the most points during pick-up Quidditch games, yet he wanted to be a part of a league. His professors spoke of him becoming a fine Auror, and he longed to become a Curse Breaker.
This persistent want for more likely stems from the fact that he never truly wanted for anything. His family was well off enough, his parents loved him, his sister was exactly what one would expect, and making the grade at Hogwarts was easy enough. Some may say that he lacks appreciation for how favorably life has treated him, and yet he’s always finding some way to get into trouble for the sole purpose of digging himself out of his own grave.
Pair reckless dissatisfaction with the pride of Gryffindor House, and you’ve created the perfect spiral. Kaleb surrounds himself by those people that push him, and while frustration occasionally wins out (and he spends the next few hours explaining away bloody knuckles), he’s finally been able to find some peace with where he’s at in life. With graduation only a year away, the future is less an aspiration and more of a reality.
Satisfaction is death.
Jenna Jones is Kaleb’s best friend. She is the only person who makes him feel as if anything is possible.
Kendra Finnigan is Kaleb’s younger sister, and he prides himself on his ability to turn her face scarlet from embarrassment in under thirty seconds.
After a rough start, Kaleb has become friends with Victoire Weasley.
Sawyer Finch-Fletchley has always annoyed Kaleb, solely because Sawyer’s future appears so clear-cut.
Like Kaleb? Unfortunately, he is closed. He is played by Leo.
