Two of each Written for @hinnymicrofic, January prompt 16: Four

Harry looked fondly at the baby in his arms, just a month old. Lily Luna, his first daughter, was the most precious thing he had ever seen.

“Wouldn’t four kids be nice?” he said softly, tickling Lily’s tummy. “We could have two of each.”

He looked up at his dishevelled wife, who had her hair up to hide she hadn’t washed it, dark eye bags and an angry look on her face. She was as beautiful as ever.

“Harry, are you insane?” she asked. “I don’t feel we got our hands on three any time soon. And you want to add another? I thought this was the final one.”

He sighed happily, not wavered by her reaction. “But another girl would be nice.”

“That’s not guaranteed,” she said. She walked to the kettle and put it on and then turned back to him, her arms crossed. “Weasley rules say girl is the final one.” She pointed at herself.

“Potter rule says the more the merrier,” Harry replied.

Ginny snorted. “You were an only child as was your dad, and I think your mother would have preferred to have been one.” She took two mugs out of the cupboard.

“I just think we make beautiful kids, don’t you think?” He held up Lily Luna to prove his point.

Ginny walked up to him and looked at her daughter. “She is really cute.” She shook her head. “No, Harry! We can’t do this. And it will be absolutely not up for discussion for a good while.”

He smiled. “… and after that?”

“Probably still a no, but then at least perhaps you can drop it now.” She shook her head at him. “I need sleep and a shower and… for that kid not to be latched onto me constantly. On top of that, James thinks I am a jungle gym.”

“I know,” Harry kissed her cheek softly. “I am tired too, but it will pass.”

Sometimes I think about Teddy's time at Hogwarts. Being around a lot of the Professors his mother and father had been around, not even realizing that he was the spitting image of Remus.

I imagine him walking up the stairs to the Great Hall for the first time with all of the other first years and getting the famous speech about the sorting hat from a rather scary-looking woman that he'll soon know to be Professor McGonagall.

I imagine her taking one look at him and stopping mid-sentence, staring in a moment of shock as she looks upon the face of a blue-haired Remus without a single scar on his face.

Teddy obviously would've been instantly worried that his hair color was getting him in trouble. Barely even the first day and he's already on bad terms with the Headmistress.

Instead, she gives him an almost invisible smile, one that doesn't quite reach her eyes, and carries on as if it never happened in the first place.

From then on, whenever they pass each other in the corridors, Minerva gets that same smile on her face now that she gets the chance to say "good afternoon, Mr. Lupin" once more.

•James Sirius & Fred ii, along with their two other friends Preston Wood & Joshua Finnigan started a band in their fifth year. (It doesn’t exist anymore)

•Roxanne is fluid with her sexuality

•Dominique had a complicated time with figuring out her sexuality but eventually decided after having her daughters and meeting the love of her life she was a lesbian

•Hugo named his daughter Charlotte after Charlie Weasley, his favourite uncle

Rec: Hogwarts Houses Divided (Gen-Teddy Lupin) 197K by @inverarity-the-writer

This is an old fic from 2007, that @inverarity-the-writer, has just recently posted to AO3. It's been backdated to 2007, which I think limited its readership so far. Many HP Gen readers know the author from the Alexandra Quick Series (1.15M) a story about an American OC in the Wizarding World that started in 2007 and updates every 3-4 years. The latest update Part 6 just came a few days ago. The series has a niche but very loyal following. But I want to talk about this Teddy Lupin fic! Summary: The war is over, and all is well, they say, but the wounds remain unhealed. Bitterness divides the Houses of Hogwarts. Can the first children born since the war's end begin a new era, or will the enmities of their parents be their permanent legacy? Comments: This fic has all of the charm of a fic written right after the release of HPDH. Not all of the additional canon info was known but a little was. It's unlike most nextgen fics I've read, it takes place when Teddy Lupin begins Hogwarts. He becomes fast friends with three other characters that are in the same Hogwarts Express Compartment as he is. Dewey Diggory (Cedric's brother born after his death), Kai Chang (Cho Chang's half brother), and my fav, Violet Parkinson (daughter of Pansy and Draco, though they never married and Pansy is still off the rails. FYI She was pregnant during the last Battle.)

All is not well at Hogwarts. Bitterness over the war and which sides the kids' parents were still spills over to the kids. It's ugly and worse than it's ever been. The Headmistress and Staff try to get a handle on it, but Teddy views it as not being fair at all. He's got strong characteristics of both his parents and a heavy influence from his godfather Harry. The plot, which is strong, begins with a mystery of wands being stolen from students. The direction it goes is surprising and the D.A. is reformed. You'll cheer for Teddy and his friends, and your heart will break for a few others. The Marauder's Map makes a strong appearance, and the moments where Harry, the Weasleys, Cho, Pansy and Draco pop-in are terrific.

So, if you're up for some strong nostalgia, and a first year adventure story, this will entertain you from start to finish.

Just a side note: This maybe the first fic I've read where Professor Binns plays an important role.

Ok hear me out. I have a ton of ship name ideas for Harry Potter so I guess this is a part one. Scorbus is a fine ship name but yk how Remus and Sirius had the name Wolfstar? Well I have that version of a nick name for Albus and Scorpius.

PotSeeker. I say PotSeeker because by doing just a tad bit of research and found out Scorpius is a seeker for the Slytherin team. Therefore, Seeker. Now for ‘Pot’ it’s a lot easier because it’s his last name. So there you have it. Why I think that should be the ship name. Also, alternative names are: whiteSeeker; SnakeStar; and BlondePot

do you have any kid head canons that tend to stay the same for you whenever you think of them?

Like for Percy's girls I always imagine Molly and Lucy as twins and being in different houses typically Molly in Slytherin and Lucy in Hufflepuff

With Molly being into quidditch but more out of spite that grew into love because early on into first year she said something about playing it with her family and some older students immediately started being assholes and tell her she won't be able to play on the team which she took as a challenge and ended up growing to love the sport alot more and maybe or maybe not becomes captain that kinda depends

While Lucy is a Prefect who has no interest in being head girl like it's offered to her but she immediately declines because she never had any intention of doing it and is mostly a prefect for the perks even though she's a natural at helping the younger kids. I also tend to think of her as an obsessive artist but not a traditional artist something more hands on clay, stained glass,woodworking,wand making something like that

I also have thoughts on the main kids I give Oliver and Marcus though not as many

I normally give Marcus a little girl i tend to call Maria which I swear I saw somewhere but I am unsure where if I'm thinking of a flintley au she's normally a couple of years younger then the twins and ends up in Ravenclaw just because the idea of Percy having a kid in every house But the weasley house is funny to me and because I like the idea of people joking about them needing to adopt another so they can have a full set anyway. I tend to think of Maria as a bit more of a cry baby because I like the idea of Marcus trying really hard to take care of her but overcompensating and coddling her a bit too much though that's more when she's younger not like hogwarts age

For Oliver its a little boy who's name I keep switching on (currently it's Cypress though) he is a griffindor I tend to think of him as "Oliver 2 Electric Boogaloo" because I firmly belive Oliver has ADHD and that shits hereditary I do think his son would have a different special interest/hyperfixation though just still don't know what

But I'm at the point where im getting very rambling

Scorbus Fic Snippet

I’ve been going through some of my old wips as i’ve been writing scorbus again and found this scene and thought i’d share it since i’ll never actually post the fic

context: it’s their 7th year and they’re sitting in the quidditch stands watching gryffindor’s practice

After several moments of comfortable silence between the couple, Scorpius broke it. "I don't mean to ruin your mood, but I can't help but think about it," he sighed and Albus pulled away slightly in order to see Scorpius' face while he was talking. "When do you think you'll be ready to tell your parents about us?"

Albus frowned slightly and sat up properly, fiddling with his hands in his lap, "I dunno... When the time feels right, I guess?"

"But when is that going to be?"

Albus was quiet as he thought about it. He knew it was harder for Scorpius. He had always been sure of his sexuality, it was never really a question for him. As soon as he had heard the term bisexual, it had stuck with him and he'd proudly tell anyone who asked. Albus on the other hand had battled with his feelings and attraction for a few years.

It started around fourth year when he realized how much he needed Scorpius in his life and how little he actually liked any other girls. That's when Scorpius came out and told Albus all these new terms. He did a lot of searching and fighting with himself and nearly two years later he was able to come out to Scorpius who was completely understanding and accepting. It didn't take long after that for them to start dating. January would be the mark of their one year anniversary.

"Maybe this next holiday I will, in person," Albus shrugged.

"Really?" Scorpius perked up, "You would tell them that soon?"

"I mean I'd have two months to think about it, but maybe. If you want me to."

Scorpius sighed, "I mean of course I want you to - I want you to be able to be yourself around your family - but I don't want to force you out of the closet if you're not ready. I saw how you reacted this morning to the possibility of being outed..."

Albus ducked his head into his hands out of uncertainty, "I don't know Scorpius. Part of me just wants to stay in the closet the rest of my life. It seems so much more simpler, I wouldn't have to be the ultimate disappointment that my family already believes me to be."

"You're not a disappointment, please don't say that," Scorpius reached out a comforting hand and rested it on Albus' back. "You don't mean that - staying in the closet, I mean..."

"I do though," Albus sat back up, looking at Scorpius with a pained expression, "I'm not brave enough. Maybe if I had just been a Gryffindor like my parents had wanted..."

"Stop," Scorpius said sternly, "You don't have to be a bloody Gryffindor to be able to be yourself. Slytherin can be brave too. Albus you have to be brave. You'll be miserable for the rest of your life if you aren't true to yourself." He gripped Albus' arm with one hand and gently turned his face towards him with his other. "Is this your anxiety talking?"

Albus avoided eye contact, looking down at Scorpius' chest, but still nodded somberly.

"Look at me - listen to me," Scorpius practically begged, both of his hands going to Albus' cheeks. Albus finally looked up at him, making eye contact. "Your family loves you, Albus. All of them do even if you don't think so. I can't tell you how they'll respond, but I know they'll love you regardless of your sexuality." Scorpius paused, making sure Albus was listening, which he was.

"If that doesn't mean anything to you, then I want you to know that this version of Albus - whatever he is doing," Scorpius gestured to Albus wildly, "Is not the Albus I fell in love with." Albus frowned deeply, realizing how he was hurting Scorpius with what he'd said. "The Albus I fell in love with would not want to live the rest of his life in misery. He's a selfish prick who will do whatever he wants to be happy," he smiled fondly and Albus chuckled at his selfish comment softly.

"He is ambitious and brave - brave enough to travel backwards and forwards in time in order to save our friendship - that is who I fell in love with. If telling your parents that you happen to fancy guys over girls is scarier than getting stuck in the past, then you've got your priorities mixed up," he finished teasingly.

Albus couldn't help but chuckle and lean into Scorpius' hold on his cheeks, "I'm sorry. You're right. I get irrational when my anxiety is high..."

Scorpius sighed and dropped his hands, his arm slipping around Albus' neck and pulling him close again, "I know. That's why I'm here to keep you in check."

Albus tilted his head up, to look at Scorpius, "Thank you," he pouted his lips slightly, asking for a kiss. Scorpius smiled and quickly pecked his lips and pulled away before anyone else across the pitch could notice them.
