Baked With Love | Albus Potter x Scorpius Malfoy Oneshot
Dear Al,
I hope your winter break is going well. Mine has been quite nice, mom has gotten me a lot of candy since I’ve been back.
Anyway, mom’s birthday is coming up soon and I was hoping you’d come to the manor this Friday to help me bake a cake for her?
I know your dad might not let you but I really hope you can. It would be nice to see you again, I miss you quite a bit.
If you’re able to come I’ll share some of my candy with you. Maybe if you tell your dad that he’ll be more open to letting you come.
Well, I hope I’ll see you Friday.
With Love,
Your best friend Scorp.
Albus’ eyes scan over the letter from Scorpius as he starts to smile. It drops slightly as he tries to think of a way to get his dad to say yes.
He stays in his room for the majority of the day making up multiple scenarios in his mind of how he could ask and what his dad would respond with.
Most of the scenarios ended up in no’s frustrating Albus. Eventually he falls backwards onto his bed letting out a sigh. “Why does this have to be so hard?” He mumbles out through his hands that are lying on his face.
A small knock makes Albus turn towards his bedroom door as he lets out a small “come in” to whoever is on the other side.
Harry opens the door and takes a few steps into the room. As his eyes land on Albus on his bed he is already starting to sit up.
“Is something wrong?” Harry asks, concerned with the sad look on Albus’ face. Shaking his head he sits up a bit straighter. “I’m fine. Just a bit tired.” Harry sighs while patting Albus on his head. “Alright, well dinner is ready downstairs.”
Albus nods as Harry readjusts his glasses. He takes one last glance at Albus before walking out and downstairs.
Sitting on his bed for a few more minutes Albus eventually gets up and heads down towards the dining room. As he enters he takes the last open seat next to James and across from his sister, Lily.
The Potter family’s dinners usually went by normally. James would either talk about quidditch or his girlfriend, most of the time both. Lily would talk about her friends and complain about her glasses, and Albus usually stayed quiet.
Today wasn’t any different. Conversation flowed easily from topic to topic as Albus listened. His mind started to drift to Scorpius’s letter causing him to get distracted. When Albus looks up from his plate he sees his mom staring at him.
He glances around quickly before speaking up. “Sorry, did you say something? I didn’t hear you.” Ginny just gives him a small smile. “Something on your mind Al?” He’s not used to hearing that name from anyone other than Scorpius. Scorpius, he just can’t get that boy out of his mind lately.
“Can I go to Malfoy Manor this Friday to help Scorpius bake a cake for his mom’s birthday?” Albus blurts out very quickly causing Lily and James’s side conversation to go silent.
“I wanna go see Scorpius too.” Lily wines pushing up her glasses. “Well you didn’t get invited.” Albus bites back causing James to let out a loud laugh. As Lily and Albus are in a heated stare down Ginny gives Harry a knowing look.
Harry’s voice breaks their stare down as Albus’s head whips in his direction with a schooled expression. “If you really want to go then I don’t see any reason to say no.”
He blinks a few times absorbing what he just heard his dad say before a smile engulfs his face. “Really? You’re really letting me go?” Albus asks, his smile making the question sound extra cheerful.
Harry nods while Ginny just smiles. “Yes Albus, I’m fine with you going.” Ginny rubs Harry’s back supportively, happy that he’s putting off his feelings for the Malfoy family.
For the rest of their dinner Albus is sitting with a smile on his face while everyone else flows back into their normal everyday conversations they have at dinner.

Albus wakes up early on Friday which he immediately regrets since he’ll have to find something to pass the time until he can floo to the Malfoy Manor.
He decides to stay in his room for most of the day, using more time than needed to reread Scorpius’s letter over and over again. Thankfully for him it passed the time quickly and he was out of his room and to the fireplace quicker than anyone in his family had seen him move before.
Ginny and Harry are sitting in the living room when Albus appears and they help him get the floo powder ready as they give him some small encouragements to have a nice time and some reminders, as well, to not get into any trouble.
He nods quickly at them signalling he’s ready to go. With one last goodbye Albus waves to his parents before saying “Malfoy Manor” while dropping the floo powder into the fireplace.
Albus steps out of the Malfoy’s fireplace and Scorpius immediately walks into the room as he hears the sound of the fireplace.
“Hi, Albus!” Scorpius smiles excitedly seeing Albus enter the manor. It’s clear he has already prepared a lot of ingredients for the cake due to his slightly messy apron.
Albus smiles at him with a faint blush on his face. “Nice apron.” He playfully teases Scorpius grabs his hand dragging him into the kitchen.
“Thank you.” Scorpius chuckles as they both enter the kitchen, and he pulls out a notebook that is filled with different cake recipes.
They had already decided to make a red velvet cake for his mother’s birthday, what remains is for them to decide the toppings and decorations. “Here’s an apron for you too.” Albus smiles at him, putting it on.
“Want to start on making the cake first? Then we can decide the toppings and decorations later in the process?” Albus asks, stumped on how to decorate the cake right now.
Scorpius looks at him with a relieved expression. “Yeah, let’s start on the red velvet cake.” He opens the cookbook to the page with a red velvet cake recipe. “Here’s the recipe.”
As Scorpius starts reading through the recipe and listing down the ingredients and procedures Albus gets slightly distracted staring at him. “We’re going to be busy with this one…”
When he finishes talking I turn my head to look at the recipe book to hide my blush that’s forming. Scorpius is too busy reading through the recipe to notice the blush that is starting to form on Albus’ cheeks.
However, as he’s listing down the ingredients one by one, Albus keeps gazing at him, getting lost in every little feature of his face.
“We’re going to need to break some eggs and measure out some flour.” Scorpius looks at him and smiles innocently.
“Alright, I’ll get the eggs.” Albus says as he moves towards the fridge and scans over the shelf’s until finding the eggs. He grabs the whole carton and walks back to the counter.
Scorpius chuckles as he sees Albus bring the whole carton of eggs over to the counter. “We only need four of them, you know.”
“What if one of the egg’s ran away? Then we’d have to walk all the way back to the fridge to get another one.” Albus jokes, causing Scorpius to smile.
“Yeah, we definitely don’t want that to happen.” Scorpius plays along as his smile grows. “The eggs have a tendency to be escape artists. I hope the flour will stay in the bag.”
Albus and Scorpius laugh as they both continue to joke about how the ingredients might run away as they measure everything out. After a few minutes of preparing, the batter is complete.
As Scorpius is reading the next steps Albus glances at the bag of flour and takes another look at him before grabbing some into his hand and hiding it behind his back.
“Hey Scorpius,” He starts off to get the boy’s attention. “Yeah Al?” Scorpius looks up from the cookbook he’s reading, wondering why he said his name like that. Albus walks closer to him with a grin on his face.
Scorpius realizes too late that Albus is planning to throw the handful of flour. He looks at him with a horrified expression but before he can react Albus has already thrown the handful of flour straight onto Scorpius’s face.
Most of the flour landed on his apron but a bit of it managed to get on Scorpius’s face. Albus puts a hand over his mouth to try to stop himself from laughing.
Scorpius just stares at him for a second with the most annoyed look on his face before he realizes he looks silly with flour all over his face. The blonde can’t help but start laughing too, and his laughter spreads to Albus.
He grabs his apron and starts wiping the flour from his face and hair. He looks up at Albus still laughing. “I couldn’t help myself. I've been thinking about doing it since you’ve had the flour out.” Albus says in between laughter.
“And the timing just felt right.” Scorpius chuckles, then his mind suddenly takes a turn and what happened next is completely unexpected.
He grabs a handful of flour from the bag, turns to Albus with a mischievous look on his face and starts walking towards him. “Let’s see how you like it.”
“Nuh-uh no you don’t.” Albus yelps as he runs around the kitchen trying to avoid Scorpius. He laughs loudly and starts chasing Albus around the kitchen.
Running around frantically Albus tries to avoid getting a handful of flour to the face but Scorpius’s speed catches up to him and he manages to throw an entire handful of flour onto Albus.
As they are both covered in flour and laughing, Scorpius manages to pin Albus against the wall. Albus wipes his face off with his hands getting some more flour on his apron. Giving up on removing all the flour off of him he glances up causing his eyes to meet Scorpius’s. Albus blushes as Scorpius follows suit.
Scorpius suddenly feels slightly nervous when he realizes that he has pinned Albus against the wall and notices how close they are to each other.
“I think you grabbed a bigger handful of flour than I did.” Albus jokes trying to focus on something else other than his growing blush.
“It looks that way.” He replies slightly breathless. They are so close to the point they can feel their body heat radiating off of each other. Scorpius’s hands slowly move to Albus’s waist as the same thought runs through their heads.
The silence between the both of them is deafening as they stare at each other. Scorpius slowly looks down at Albus’s lips and without thinking he leans towards him. Before either of them can process what’s happening Scorpius closes the gap pressing his lips against Albus’s.
Scorpius’s lips are soft and warm, and when they meet Albus's lips his body instinctively responds and kisses him back. It feels right, more than right to both of them.
After what seems like an eternity they eventually part, causing Albus to stare at the boy in front of him still not sure whether what happened actually happened.
Scorpius clears his throat nervously. “Uh- well, I guess that was unexpected.” He looks at Albus with a look that makes it obvious he doesn’t regret it, he wants to kiss him again.
“Unexpected is an understatement.” Albus breaths out, still processing what happened. “It was… nice though.” He continues muttering the last part.
Scorpius smiles widely, grabbing Albus’s waist and kissing him again. This time his kiss is more passionate and they stay there taking breaths in between every so often leaving the unfinished cake to be forgotten about.
In the end, Albus had to ask his dad if he could come back the next day to help finish up the cake. Scorpius and him decided it would be best to tell their parents they accidentally burnt the first cake which is why they needed tomorrow to redo it.
The cake did not get finished the next day either. Astoria did eventually get her cake though, just not a homemade one like originally planned.

he likes albus , not rugby .
a short snippet of something i might write .
“That doesn’t exactly look like fun,” Scorpius winces, eyebrows furrowing in the glare of the bruised sky. Albus shrugs, ears flushed a light pastel in the sharp autumn wind.
“It’s not so bad, James used to play with me.”
“Right.” And he’s not sure that sounds any better, as Yann Fredericks snatched the ball in long, weaving moments and a spray of mud clouded the air.
“Well,” he swallows thickly, “it’s definitely rougher than quidditch - and that’s something I’d never thought I’d say.”
Albus grins, and the whistle blows. His fingers squeeze the soft flannel of Scorpius’s shirt clad shoulder, they linger, half a beat, a sparkle against the glimmer, the world narrows into focus.
“See you in a bit, yeah.”
Scorpius nods , in what he hopes is a truly convincing way, as strands of hair fall against his eyes, and the pockets of his coat feel too large as his hands scrunch nervously. A shiver slips down his spine - if nothing else it was too bloody cold.

life after - chapter eleven
When Albus gets back to the common room, his mind racing, Scorpius is blessedly alone, sitting in an emerald arm chair and reading a book.
He’s on the emptier side of the room, looking like some kind of carved marble figure. Beautiful and poised. It doesn’t seem farfetched to assume that if Albus were close enough he would find no hint of breath leaving his body, and while that would normally instil a panic so powerful he might stop breathing himself, he can’t not appreciate the artistry. Scorpius is a masterfully crafted statue of peace, and yet, there has always been too much unpolished life and warmth radiating from him for Albus to ever believe that to be entirely true. Even so, it seems a shame to disrupt his picturesque pose of handsome academic excellence rather than admire it from afar, but Albus doesn’t know what else to do.
He stands in his shocked awe for what is likely a suspicious amount of time, watching as Scorpius delicately turns page after page of his book. It's amazing how often Albus can walk in, mind in hell, and be calmed at once by his mere presence. The knowledge that he exists. There’s a tiny crease in his brow as he reads, though it’s the suggestion of a smile gracing his expression that calls to him and spurs Albus into action.
“Oh, thank Merlin you’re here,” he breathes, crossing the room and slumping immediately into his lap. Scorpius laughs lightly, coming instantly to life. He puts the book down and wraps his arms around Albus. He’s soft and warm, full of that life Albus knew was hiding just beneath the surface. He enjoys the relaxation he knew was coming.
Not enough people take note of Scorpius, he thinks, not enough people appreciate his inherent and instinctual kindness. His openness. The optimism he shows even in the face of constant dismissal. It infuriates him and makes him extra appreciative in equal strengths. He feels like Albus’s secret and he shouldn’t be.
“You alright?” Scorpius asks. He hugs Albus with fierceness, holding him together so sweetly that he couldn’t break apart even if he wanted to. They slot together like the joining of hands. Maybe not the explicitly designed purpose, but too perfectly fitting to ignore. Comforting and right.
Albus nods into the fabric of his shirt. “Yeah,” he sighs, “it’s just James.”
“Ah.”

with the dew, my golden hair | scorpius/albus
Rated E | 1.1k | Kinkuary day 9: Hair pulling Tags: Hurt/comfort, minor D/s elements, porn with feelings, hair pulling, intercrural sex, coming untouched, Scorbus are so in love, Albus is obsessed with Scorpius's hair, mentions of fighting parents/unhappy home situation
Thank you so much to @getawayfox for the beta!!
Albus has been obsessed with Scorpius’s hair from the very first moment they met.
Seven years ago, now. A flash of flaxen-gold on the King’s Cross platform. A bright spot in a sea of grubby brown bricks, steel tracks, black school robes.
That’s what Scorpius is to him. A beacon. A bright light calling to him, dragging him to safety from a life of dull greys. Of bitter greens and angry reds, the riot of ugly colours that surround him at home.
Scorpius is Albus’s peace.
