In the light of the recent Percy Jackson show (and ignoring the fact that I have to read Goethe's Faust for school), I am challenging you all and especially you reading this.
14k notes by the 1st of April and I will read all of the Percy Jackson series' books that my sibling owns.
I think they go up to the Apollo series? So, like. ~20 books.
Quote 1: "And the universe said you are not separate from every other thing and the universe said you are the universe tasting itself, talking to itself, reading its own code and the universe said I love you because you are love." - Minecraft End Credits, Minecraft
Quote 2: "Wait, which one is the one where you hear your tie talk to you?" "Mental illness." "Because I have that." - Kim Kitsuragi & Harry du Bois, Disco Elysium

Quote 1: Every 2000’s kids knows this quote. It’s iconic! - Submitter
Quote 2: I vibe with this so hard. I should play DE - Mod Chaos (I started playing it finally and I LOVE it)
Okay John has done a lot of things wrong, but that's what makes him interesting. He's a compelling character precisely because he's a bit fucked up (and should honestly go to therapy because he has so many issues and very little outlet...)
He's a mess, but that's why he's interesting to read about. He's an assshole and a hypocrite, but he also desperately wants to change. He wants to be a good person, he doesn't want to feel like the monster he feels that he's become.
And he's not the only one in that story who has messed up. In fact, a lot of the main cast have. The only difference is how they're treated for their actions and how much they regret them.
To be honest, certain other characters who have also done awful things get little more than a slap on the wrist, and that often has to come from John himself. Even when they do get some form of punishment, most of them don't even acknowledge that what they did was wrong and consider John to be the only one in the wrong in any conflict.
(This was kinda rambly but I really enjoy John as a character, even with everything that's happened.)
Rex:
Poor guy deserves therapy and time out of everyone else's problems. And to reunite with his dog. He's his own brother. Doubly half-brother to the bad guy who might be better than the good guys because the good guys are actually pretty corrupt but also both good and bad guys allied with this one serial killing mafia boss who had this death pit under his joint. As I said, Rex deserves a break.
John:
Poor guy needs a break, and all he's gonna get is very bad news any time soon. He's done nothing wrong ever. Except a few stuff but he was largely provoked
as in, can you identify your accent / tell what parts of your speech are accented etc, or do you think you “don’t have an accent” (you do, everyone does, but for the purposes of explanation)
