Penguin Santa Season's Greetings
In December of 2013, Aisha Harris wrote an essay for Slate proposing that Santa Claus be "replaced" with an anthropomorphic Penguin Santa. I found the proposal charming; just what I needed to combat my annual holiday blues. Starting in 2013, I began making digital holiday cards for the South Pole Santa and sharing them on my various social media accounts. 2022 is the tenth year in a row of making these cards. This feed includes the cards I make and curated penguin/Penguin Santa content from around the internet.

This card might seem like the “end” of Penguin Santa. Well, who can say? Every Christmas is Last Christmas for something or someone. But really, Penguin Santa reminds us all that *we* are the “reason for the season.” Be the best Penguin Santa you can be, as often as you can. Open your door, your heart, your house, your community to those in need. Spread joy and compassion for its own sake. Be the glimmer of light persisting in a world too full of shadows.
