Is this Xenia Season 9 ?

I love Xenia. I really do. Everything about her is great and she is one of my favorites in this app. But here is the thing. Something was off in her recent seasons and it took me some time to figure it out and i am very sad about it. So beware, a rant and my unwanted opinion are coming up. It is just my opinion.

During the last seasons, i feel like the MC lost all her personality. I loved her before and though she had amazing potential. Now ? Her thoughs are empty, except for Xenia this, Xenia that. Nothing. Barely a lost puppy hidden in Xenia’s shadow. Doing everything Xenia tells her to do. It’s all Xenia knows best, always looking at Xenia for approval, ‘xenia is the expert’, etc. And “oh, Xenia wants to sacrifice herself because of her love for me. Ok then. I will just stay here and watch it happen even though i am supposed to have great magic”. I get wanting to give everything to the person you love, i get it. But it works both ways yet the MC does nothing. Show, don’t tell as they say. I know she is the queen and cannot act recklessly. But she is THE QUEEN. Where is the personality ? Where is her rebellious side from the earlier seasons. Her bratty side ? Her combative spirit? She just lets everything happen. She is from the wilds, it is said but we see nothing of it. At least let her stand up for herself, girl needs to get a grip. Like, i wanna give her little slaps and tell her to wake up. It is not a very healthy portrayal of a relashionship. The MC is basically useless at this point, if she wasn’t here, the same things would have happened. What does that say ? I almost wish that they would have a fight. It just doesn’t feel like a relashionship anymore and it’s a DATING APP. Xenia is great, a complex character that i learned to love through the seasons. She has many sides and her evolution was amazing to read. I felt really emotionnaly involved. But she is paired with a MC with 0 personality in the later seasons. And that’s not good for me. It creates a feeling of inequality between them. In the earlier seasons, she said that she did not feel like Xenia’s puppet to reassure her, and yet, that’s what it feels like for me. She’s a puppet. Xenia has at least one more season i believe, and i reaaaaally hope it will be better and that the MC will find her personality.
