I finally watched knuckles and I like it, but like most I had gripes. Maybe spoilers but I wish the exploration of knuckles they did was better. Like having him personally disclose his backstory and getting actual sympathy instead of "Well we went through pain, too". Or when he was participating in the Whipple family's culture he could have introduced his own culture. Combining the culture of his new home and his old home. Having the flames of disaster mean more. IDK have a show about knuckles that explores Knuckles.

Wanted to dump some Sonic language headcanons.

Sonic is definitely a Polyglot. It really seems that he's a super nomadic person and I like the idea of him growing up absorbing a bunch of cultures and languages. In Unleashed he goes all over and communicates fine with everyone. Apparently he also reads Arabian Nights in Arabic in Sonic and the Secret Rings. I can't vouch as I don't know arabic. He's coded to be Egyptian and it's pretty clear evidence. I believe the common language is english because of the large wester influence, but with how much japanese influence goes into Sonic I'd say he speaks that, too. He was once said to be from christmas Island which is a real island. The official language is English there but it's also common to speak languages like Malay or Manderin, so I like to think he knows those two as well. I think he's astonishingly good at language, though and him and Tails bond through that shared academic. I feel like Rogue and Shadow know a lot of languages too because of their occupations, try to have secret conversations in another language, and Sonic dips in. Its become a game to figure out what languages they know that he doesn't. Eggman also knows a lot of languages.

There's also a few bilingual characters. Knuckles has had both Jamaican and Mezo-American coding so I think he obviously speaks english and either an ancient American language or Spanish. Blaze speaks Hindu. Silver speaks italian. I imagine Amy taking a french class in school and being adept but not amazing or fluent.

Okay it's cannon but like in an alternative universe because Comics. I just think the fact DC made Known Murderer and Reblious Teen with Daddy Issues a Catholic priest in a different universe. Just. Casually.

Jason Todd is may or may not be Catholic in the main timeline of DC Comics, but I the Flashpoint storyline, my man is a priest! He was a drug addict, thief, and in the Blood Brother cult before dying, only to come back to life and decide to become a priest in the hellhole that is Gotham. In the main timeline, he comes back after dying and stuffs a duffel bags full of heads! The common trait before all Jason Todds is that they all have to be as dramatic as possible. Dying and coming back as the most unexpected thing. Unbelievable. I love this man.

Shadow

In sonic destruction (the AI generated fan thing snapcube made a while ago) shadow was catholic or something which I think is reallyyyyyyy funny

Ok listen. I know this is a stretch but hear me out. He says “oh my God” in the Twitter takeovers so we know this is a possibility. I see him as a Christ-like figure because I saw his whole confrontation with Mephiles and was like “this is a thing that happened in the Bible??” and the pose Mephiles shows him in is literally like a crucifixion and Mephiles is meant to be a demon / false prophet reference. And also he’s called a demon in Shadow The Hedgehog 2005 then the guy who calls him that is like “I was wrong I’m sorry” and that also reminds me of a thing with Jesus in The Bible. But the biggest reason is his whole thing with Maria cause I think he’d come to earth and hear Ave Maria once and convert to Catholicism idk he’s like we’re comforted by a female familial figure named Mary sometimes called Maria?? And her color is blue????? Heck yeah I’m in because I Will Cry. Also feel free to share this as propaganda obv even if he doesn’t get in the bracket just. It’s funny.

I feel like he’d battle a lot with being seen or portrayed as a demon and how the aliens he’s related to very much look and act like demons idk lmao- and also I feel like confession would just be good for him I think he needs it for his mental health

There is a debate on the lovely website tunblr that Shadow T. Hedgehog is an allegory for Jesus Christ.

He is Jesus, idk what to tell you. He lived, he was sealed away, he was awakened again and deemed the ultimate lifeforms, he’s angry but not evil, does what he believes is best for people and the world at any given time. Total loser.

Ah! Almost forgot! Why did G.U.N make three hedgehogs who had amazing powers and could go super(Sonic, Shadow, and Silver) and one who almost completely normal(Scarlett/Amy)?

Amy’s not normal. I mean we see in official art that she’s strong enough to take a punch from Knuckles and hold sonic up while he’s sitting on her hammer. Speaking of her hammer it’s mathematically at least 64 pounds and she can throw it like it’s nothing, so she’s insanely strong, and also a little faster than the average person, just obviously not fast compared to the fastest thing alive. Idk why Amy hasn’t gone super yet because the “only male hedgehogs can go super” thing has been retconned, so I’m fairly sure she can, she just hasn’t gotten the chance, yet. In my version she can at least.

I love how Amy is the only one in this AU who doesn’t go by her project name. Why is that? And three more questions: 1. is she any different from her canon self? 2. is she the youngest or is it Silver? I can’t tell. And 3. Why did G.U.N make her when the already had Shadow, Sonic(and maybe Silver if he came before her)?

Amy doesn’t go by her project name because she’s trans. Gerald and Black Doom made four boys because they wanted several strong weapons and believed that a girl wouldn’t fit that criteria because of the era. Amy’s personality is about the same except she doesn’t have a crush on sonic because they’re siblings. She is the youngest, though not very far apart as they’re artificially aged. And why she was created, again they wanted a group of soldiers because four heads are better than one.

Wow! I completely forgot I didn't finish this so: Silver: Silver's escape pod was dropped into the middle of the ocean and sunk. It wasn't until hundreds of years later when the oceans had evaporated due to a fire got ravaging the land that a group of scavengers found his pod and opened it, raising the hedgehog as their own. Silver grew up confused as to why this wasn't the same planet he oh so loved to gaze down on from the arc. His powers got stronger as he grew older, until one day, while traveling by ring, Silver found her was a few feet behind... himself? Watching himself go through the ring. Silver eventually discovered that his powers had an odd effect on rings, allowing him to travel through time. With some training and research, Silver managed to travel back and time to stop who he believed to be responsible. A boy by the name of Sonic. Shadow: Shadow was raised on the arc with his two brothers and two sisters (though he didn't know one was his sister at the time.) He was the eldest, and adored his siblings endlessly. He protected them when he could, but not even he could stop the grueling experiments, but at least they had each other. They had each other until one day, when the alarms blared in his ears and he grabbed who he could and ran. He had his siblings until Maria was dead and he was descending. Shadow awoke 50 years later. A man who looked oddly like Gerald standing over him.

Still having trouble finding time to draw, so instead here is a written summary of each of the hedgehog’s waking up stories to later hopefully be drawn (1/2)

Sonic: As you saw in my Sonic he is found by Tails, who brought Sonic back to his house. After some suspicion on Sonic’s part, Tails shows sonic the escape pod on the beach he found him in, allowing for all the memories to come crashing down on Sonic. They had been attacked and he had ran with his family. He was shoved into an escape pod and sent down to earth. Noticing the rusting and various sea life stuck the pod, Sonic asks “what year is it?”

“2332” Tails replies, confused.

“I’ve been in there for 46 years.” Thinking that his family had perished, Sonic starts a new life with tails, until one day he meets a little girl with pink hair….

Amy: Dr. Rose tapped away at her computer, boredly filing reports. She sat back with a sigh and rubbed her temples. Today had been a long, slow day and it was only noon. Suddenly, her phone began buzzing, the screen displaying a photo of her husband.

“Hello?” She inquired as she held the device to her ear. “Everything alright, honey? I’m at work.”

“I found a little boy.” Her husband replied. “I know this sounds crazy but hear me out entirely. In a weird tank that must have been uncovered by the rock slide last week. Looks like it’s been in the forest for a long, long time. Sealed up with him inside some sort of goo. His hair’s pink and his eyes are like a lizard’s, Lana. This boy isn’t normal.”

Lana pursed her lips in thought. He was right, it did sound crazy. “Let me take my lunch and I’ll come over and see what’s up.”

Lana followed the address given to her. It was the usual hiking trail her husband took on days she had work and he didn’t. She struggled up the hill in her office wear, but eventually came across her husband, and indeed a pink haired boy next to an odd pod. The boy smiled and waved enthusiastically, the other hand holding one of her husband’s granola bars.

“Hi! Who are you?” He asked.

Her husband smiled fondly. “This is my wife I was telling you about.”

The boy turned to look at her once more, brows furrowed. “She doesn’t look like a doctor. All the doctors on the Ark were cold and old and had white coats on.”

That certainly brought on a lot more questions. Dr. Rose sighed and knelt down. “What’s your name, kiddo? Are you hungry?”

“I’m scarlett! And yes, super duper hungry!” The boy said with a toothy grin before pausing, fear in his face and turning once more to her husband. “Not that the granola bar isn’t enough. I’m not ungrateful, Mr.Darin I swear!”

“It’s quite alright, kiddo” Darin said. “I’m famished, let’s go get ourselves some food and you can tell us about yourself!”

And so, over messy bar burgers which Scarlet had apparently never had before, he told the Rose couple about how he was raised on a satellite with his brothers and sick sister. Him and his brother’s had been made by his sister’s grandfather to be “ultimate lifeforms”. Raised in a cold lab until they were attacked and put into those pods.

“What year was it when you were put in the pod?” Mr. Rose asked.

“2286! Why?” Scarlet replied between bites. The couple shared a horrified looks. 42 years was long time to be in a pod.

The rose couple ended up adopting young scarlet. The boy took to baking and gardening like a fish to water, and loved to talk endlessly. Eventually, the boy picked up tarot reading, being told by his cards to head to little planet for a fated encounter. Excited, Scarlet begged his parents to take him to Little Planet. The trio was not expecting to be attacked by a robot and saved a by a boy that had the same eyes as Scarlet.

“Sonic?” Scarlet choked, staring at the older in disbelief.

“Scarlet? I’m not hallucinating, am I?” Sonic, apparently, said.

“I thought I lost you!” Scarlet latched onto Sonic, crying.

“You can’t get rid of me that easily, little bro.” Sonic said softly as he gently pet the younger’s hair.

Over the next few years Scarlet made many friends, including a two tailed fox and a brutish Echidna. And when one day, Scarlet gathered his friends and family into the living room with cupcakes decorated with blue, pink, and white, Amy Rose was welcomed into the family with open arms.
