so i started playing enstars in early june and it pretty much immediately became a hyperfixation turned spinterest for many reasons, but what keeps getting me to this day is that there are near infinite things i still don't know about this game. like... it is an endless rabbit hole of random factoids and story pieces and character interactions that it would probably take years to see them all.... like that is just so awesome and you really wouldn't expect it from the surface. like i love idol games thats why i eventually just caved and downloaded it but this is so much more than an idol game 😭 you can't even explain it unless you just Know. it's wonderful love u enstars sigh

i absolutely love reading the tgcf novels because you start to realise that literally everything about hua cheng ties back to his love for + past with xie lian and i'm like waaaaaaaaah

and it's not just hua either... every feature of every character is an intentional piece of background history that we slowly uncover through the novels waaah it's just beautiful she is such a good writer i'm floored... 😭💖

i started + finished kamisama kiss today.... i started it to just play in the background while i draw, which worked! i was finally able to get a bit of art done that i had wanted to for a while. however, i ended up getting really into it and it's made me so inspired, i'm so sad that there's only 13 episodes :( i want to write a fic for it, and draw some things too... :,)

i remember seeing in the season 1 intro, the like, small shrine with hong-er and the umbrella, and i was like, oh yeah thats baby hua and the umbrella, BUT OMGGGG IT WAS A GIFT FMFEMNFJSJF

i just thought in the intro it was like to tie it together compositionally not like he was actually gifted that umbrella from xl and that's why he kept it TT sobbing crying throwing up

i also love how his statue looks in the illustration.... goodness xl looks so friendly and warm and like thinking thats how baby hua sees him is like OWWH MY HEART

and how he rejected eating the food from the altar even tho xl technically doesnt need it hes just so dedicated fjsnfnsnfksjdkjfa

started playing room no9 for the first time last night! i just started day 6 and stopped there. (PLEASE don't spoil me!)

thoughts + notes so far: (content warnings tagged)

settings: i have... that one setting turned off, but gore and other stuff on

before they arrived / pre day one:

i really like how they interact with each other, they're super cute, and i've always loved this game's art style from afar, so seeing them in real time chatting with each other was like aaa it's real!

day 1:

they cannot be this stupid. objectively speaking, there is a significantly better option. homies would you rather do something gay or give up 600ml of blood. hmmm well i'm not gay or anything soo.....

i'll admit tho, this scene made me incredibly uneasy and i was really glad. i've been playing slow damage lately and the way they deliver the gore scenes is just too nonchalant for what they expect back from me. SD is like "yeah its gore whatever" so i'm like, "ok so it's gore. whatever". room no9 did a good job of dragging out this scene long enough that i was almost holding my breath. on the topic, i have a lot of health issues, so i've had to get my blood drawn every month for years. i felt they did it pretty well, honestly. i'm not even scared of getting my blood drawn (i mean, i can't be at this point lol) but i felt nervous playing it LOL

day 2-5:

thank god. they were reasonable and chose the gay shit.

also, the voice actors really outdid themselves here. i got a little too used to aoba (dmmd)'s voice during sx scenes and expected that all VAs in blvns were just.... like him 💀 no offense to aoba of course... but his voice is just so unsexy that i cannot take it seriously 💀 seiji however... props to him.

all-in-all:

i like it so far!! i like darker/more disturbing media but i haven't really gotten any like that in a while. slow damage was such a letdown imo that i was really craving something generally plotless and freaky lmfaooo
