Gorgonopsid

[Probably the second stem-mammal most people have heard of, after Dimetrodon. The fur is speculative, but definitely within reason. Permian coprolites were found with hair fragments, so something had to be fuzzy back then.]

Gorgonopsid CR 4 N Animal This creature has a large, vaguely canine head with protruding sabre-teeth, four legs held under its body and a short tail. Fur grows over its body.

Gorgonopsids are powerful predators that are related to mammals, despite their somewhat reptilian appearances. They can be found in a wide array of terrains and temperatures, and can survive on water obtained from their prey without stopping to drink. As such, they are often found in desert environments. The integument of a gorgonopsid depends on where it is found; the colder the environment, the more dense hair it grows over its body.

Gorgonopsids are pack hunters that are capable of tackling prey much larger then themselves. They typically hunt in a series of staggered charges, slamming into their opponent and tearing out deep, bleeding wounds with their saber-teeth. As one rank retreats, the next rank plows into the foe—few animals can survive multiple of such onslaughts.

Variant Gorgonopsids The statistics above reflect the most common gorgonopsids, but other types do exist. Lycanops are faster, coyote-sized creatures that prey individually on small game. A lycanops is a gorgonopsid with the young simple template, no charge through special attack, and a land speed of 50 feet. A lycanops is CR 3. An inostrancevia is an immense gorgonospid the size of a large bear, with sharper foreclaws adept at grappling prey. An inostrancevia is a gorgonopsid with the giant simple template and with two claw attacks that deal 1d6 damage each. It does not have the charge through special attack but does have the grab special attack with its claws. An inostrancevia is CR 5.

There are multiple things wrong with this post.

Luz and Amity were still fucking enemies with Hunter after these episodes until Hollow Mind and Labyrinth Runners, that's not a fucking support system, Lily. They still disliked him after the episodes where they met him until they knew they could trust him.

AND IN THE EPISODES WHERE THEY MET HIM they acted hostile towards him. Luz bitch slapped Hunter and explicitly told him she didn't like him, Amity kept Hunter tied with abomination goop and showed distrust in him. That is ALSO not a support system since they barely fucking supported him.

The reason why they don't have much hostility towards Hunter the next time they see him is because he's done things in episodes like ASIAS or Labyrinth Runners that prove they can trust him, and since they clearly see that he was just a victim of Belos' manipulation.

"attack it, lash out like a dick, or huffing copium" is also an extremely disingenuous and downright false description of Hunter's actions in those episodes.

Hunter did not have a support system in Season 2A, Lily. Luz and Amity were not friends with Hunter until Season 2B. They were not there to support him 90% of time before 2B.

Lily and Mikila saying that Hunter is bad for being an "overdone trope" so weird to me because like. Aren't ALL character archetypes over done??? In fact, this same logic can be applied to other characters within the show itself. Luz Noceda is an overdone trope; she's the bubbly "quirky" female protagonist who is also very kind and empathetic.

Her character archetype is actually more over done than Hunter's when you really think about it, especially in terms of Disney protagonists in the 2010s and early 2020s. Amity Blight is also an overdone trope; a bully character who goes through a redemption arc and becomes one of the main characters. Also has abusive parents as a way to explain their behavior and earn them sympathy from the audience. Amity's archetype, like Luz's, is arguably more overdone than Hunter's in a lot of media even outside of Disney.

Of course, this isn't exactly a bad thing; tropes are tools after all, and you can make generic ideas work with the right execution. Luz and Amity execute their respective archetypes well due to them having real depth and development over the course of the show, and, guess what? Hunter also executes his archetype pretty well too.

Story tropes are not inherently good or bad, they exist in every story and can be used effectively to create a compelling narrative, so docking points from a character for being a "over done trope" feels like a very bad faith critique, since, again, this same logic can be applied to other characters within the show.

Lily's only problem is that Hunter is an archetype she doesn't like and therefore her critique is heavily biased.

....Also he's an "angsty white boy" and Luz and Amity aren't. Sorry, I almost forgot.

You don’t need to overcome your disability or mental illness to be “worthy”.

There’s a lot of focus on people “defying the odds” and showing that their disability “can’t hold them back”.

But here’s the thing... sometimes your disability does hold you back. Sometimes, no matter how much you want to, you can’t do some things.

Disabilities are disabling and you don’t need to pretend they’re not.

And it’s okay. You’re still worthy.
