seed collecting process for #seedrain - after opening about 20 of the larger black pods ( ID anyone?) the last one was being #predated ! ie it was being eaten by a very tiny #caterpillar. Seeds can be predates without ever exiting their safety pods ..... since predation is a strong theme for my collaboration with Sichong Chen ( seed scientist) I thought this was pretty cool to observe. Caterpillar is still happily chomping ... @erambooart @kuringgaiph

#seedhive becomes #seedrain rejigging the idea and the engineering quite literally . Viewed from above the #testtubes become #diatom - like. Seed Rain is a science term for the event of enmass seed release in a forest so that it appears to be raining seeds. #shirin #yoku ( Japanese term for the act 'forest bathing ' ). Many poetic, symbolic and literal associations.
