i’m trying to announce this everywhere i think of, but please leave your lucky bag reviews under the actual lucky bag listing. i know i’ve said they’ll be going down 11/24, but i’ll leave the actual listing up (and just make them sold out) for a few weeks to give folks a chance to leave their reviews there.

tumblr is still my secret favorite platform lmao so just in case people are curious about the reasoning for this: some of the items in these lucky bags are things that we either don’t sell anywhere on or site or wouldn’t normally sell on our site elsewhere, like items from returns or with small misprints.

we also purposefully do not offer exchanges or returns on any lucky bag items because they’re so heavily discounted--most of the bags that have gone out this round have been worth at least $70 (and we also fucked up the shipping weight for this same reason but since i didn’t catch the mistake myself early i just went ahead and gave everyone access to this “discount” and we’ll correct it next time, gdhsklgaskl) meaning most bags you actually paid around $25 - $28 (w/ the extra shipping bite taken out) for $70 worth of items. so you’re typically guaranteed around a 40% discount on your merchandise, but some people this sale are getting fully resellable items at 67%, 70% off their normal prices.

i’d also say in most cases a lot of our newer customers might not even recognize if they got an item that is a misprint, or a return, or an experimental piece that might be not offered on the site anywhere or something that was slightly off what we’d normally sell.

this has been less of an issue in the past because the value of bags has been lower, experimental items were usually one or two in a whole sale rather than this sale where we had a pretty good handful (since we’re now able to do more experimenting!), AND because up until pretty recently we haven’t also had a review raffle program offering another 50% off future purchases for giving a review, which means we’re also getting a lot more reviews now than we used to--but that also means i care a lot more about the reviews being true and accurate for our customers, and given in the right context.

i also care about people ordering lucky bags in the future having a centralized place to hear about ppl’s experiences with their lucky bags so folks can understand what they’re getting into and hear what kind of items go in bags! this year i contemplated photographing a few of the bags unwrapped to add as images to the listings buuuuut i feel like that kind of ruins the fun a little bit, esp since they’d be real bags going to actual customers this round.

anyway--my announcements everywhere else were much shorter (also bc limits exist on all of our other social media accounts) but i felt like i’d elaborate on this a little for you guys while i’m thinking about it. hopefully all of this makes sense!

Trash Queen is all about high brow/low brow mix, gross and cute, repulsive and attractive, elegant and trashy. it's been the basis of the brand since i first launched in 2014! long time followers will also know that TQ was the subject of my thesis in college--so i wrote an entire paper about the concept for the brand and defended that shit to a committee to graduate...so you know i feel hella strongly about it and about bringing cute clothes to plus size folks in general!!!! 😈
