Auryn is the kind crown heir of the Adorian throne. His golden skin is not a reflection of his soul, but rather an old curse that has recently begun to take hold at a rapidly accelerated rate. Greed was his curse, she had said. The curse itself wasn’t apparent even at the birth of Auryn, who was named for his golden eyes. The kingdom celebrated, and for many years it was forgotten.

One day Auryn awoke to find his skin flecked with gold, only specks. The curse unknown, he didn’t really know what to think. Until it began to spread, cool and metallic to the touch. Many healers and magic-users later, it was revealed to be the curse at work, and no one can even begin to guess at the end result. He ordered it to be kept a secret, but could do nothing when the gold spread across his face. He’s almost glad for the rumors

He is kind, gentlemanly, but he keeps everyone at arms length. After all, he’s becoming a statue, what could he do but break hearts just the same as his father?
