Round 2 of the Fae! I bunched the Chaotix and the Rabbits together, they seemed to fit!

More rambles under the cut:

So the Chaotix still work together, they have a range of skills between them (Vector can swim/dive, Charmy can fly and Espio is great at stealth and climbing) so they often take on odd-jobs for other fae. They're not high members of a court and they don't have much on their own, Vector and Charmy specifically don't care for fancy dress although Espio likes to have nicer clothes for festivities. Most Fae trade goods in exchange for things but these three pay in favours instead, they make a rag-tag group but they always get the job done. They like to play music together, Charmy's flowers make excellent instruments!

Vanilla and Cream are always together, they're from the same family of flora and share a fauna (in-appearance) so they're particularly close. Vanilla is exceptionally skilled in both baking and tailoring, she sews with silk and her flowers give her vanilla bean. She's a highly respected member of the Spring Court due to her luxury items for trade. Cream is Vanilla's helper, she's learning how to sew and bake and helps with things like harvesting and deliveries, she has a similar status in the court as a result - they're both just well liked by most fae.

Despite the difference in status, the Chaotix and the Orchids are very friendly with each other, Vanilla often asks for favours and gives them plenty of goods as payment (Espio seems to be the only one who realises the favours aren't really necessary). Vector's infatuated but he assumes Vanilla wouldn't look his way, but he tries to do his best to impress her doing busywork. Charmy and Cream are close friends - they like to fly around and play in the wind with the bees.

I’m doing alright, thank you! I’ve been crazy busy myself, but thankfully that should ease up in a week or two, which should be nice. (Rest assured I’ll be so excited to see whatever it is you have up next!)

HE LOVES THEM SO MUCH *cries forever* Haha, yeah, I’ll bet he very much goes “*sniff sniff* Hm. Well, this little creature does smell like Lans. And Lans is asking me to be nice to the small creature. I suppose I can put up with it, for Lans’s sake. *huff*” (After rereading his chapter of Open Your Heart, I also wondered how Regular Omega would feel about Medieval Omega having a tail to wag and expressing emotions aside from anger more freely…I wonder if externally he’s like “WOW. CRINGE.” but internally he goes “YOU HAVE GOOD TASTE IN FRIENDS, DRAGON VERSION OF ME.” (Sorry apparently I have so many thoughts about this ^^;;)

YESSSSS I guessed almost all the lines right! I wasn’t sure who’d said “My liege” as opposed to “Your majesty”, but everyone else I got! Also…the way both Percival and Gawain use royal titles while Lancelot cries out Arthur’s name twice…I see you there Smash (thank you for the tidbits of Lance loving Arthur—whether platonically or romantically—in this fic, they fuel my soul). But truly, yes, they all do love their king!! I bet they could never, ever forget how he used to be, and while their hearts may have hurt at his changing, the joy they felt at his return is so clear TwT

I needed you to know that just the other day I was suddenly hit with a random memory of how Dragon!Omega loves “Gwen” and “Lans” so, so much and I had to physically press a hand to my chest at the reminder. Medieval Team Dark still owns my soul and everything to do with it and I love them very much always.

I’ve also been re-reading Sonic and the Cursed King recently, and I had a question about it, if you don’t mind! At the end of Chapter 8, all of the knights are crying out in delight at seeing Arthur restored, and none of their dialogue has any sort of markers to indicate who’s speaking what. I know who I headcanon speaking each line (ahem ARTHURLOT wow who said that), but do you have any thoughts as to who said which dialogue? No worries if you don’t, I was just curious!

YESSSSS Omega loves his tiny living creatures. Just those two though. He is the one exception to the rule of "everyone loves Galahad it's not a choice". Galahad is tolerated, just like Arthur. But Gwen and Lans? Bring on the head pats and back rides!

And yes! I did have specific knights in mind for those lines of dialogue. I don't remember it 100% but allow me to show what I'm pretty sure what I was thinking/intending:

“You’re okay! You’re alive!” (Galahad)

“I knew you wouldn’t fall so easily!” (Lamorak)

Did a fun exercise today, it included pretending to know how anatomy works

THOUGHTS.#so starting with sonic—it’s really interesting to see how his brow ridges #and nasal bone fit into his anatomy!#i also like the way you’ve made sense of mobian feet it’s very interesting #and am i right in presuming that the blank spaces are muscles/flesh? because that’s going to become more relevant in a second #as for shadow i know plenty of other people have noticed the third eye hole (super cool) as well as his bones in quills and epic feet bones #but has nobody mentioned the fact that he has spikes on his arm and leg bones? how do those hide underneath his skin?#and WHAT is UP with this boy’s ribcage? does it absorb impact better? worse? what are the benefits of having interlaced ribs?#ALSO I JUST NOTICED THAT HIS BONES TWIST?? that would probably make for an ABSURD amount of flexibility #in how far he can rotate his joints #he got a good set of chompers on him too i see very nice indeed #and the fact that he has not just bones but a MASSIVE AMOUNT OF MUSCLE in his faux quills???#he could LIFT WEIGHTS with those things!#(not me imagining them growing longer when he goes full alien and serving as proper appendages)#(also not me imagining him walking in an odd sort of predatory stalking motion without his skates there as proper support)#I AM ADOPTING SO MUCH OF THIS INTO MY OWN PERSONAL HEADCANONS THANK YOUUUU #STARING AT THIS FOREVER AND EVER

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (context under cut)

Okay, so, here’s the whole story:

1: Scroll is a blackmailer instead of a murderer in this AU (because Cinna is the light of my life and I will defend her with everything I’ve got). One of the things he has done is informed Cinna and Maca’s respective pink Addisons about their relationship in an effort to sabotage them.

2: Similar to canon, he hides his cleverness behind a facade of cutesy behavior—something he must do if he wants to sell well and maintain his status amongst the other Pinks without antagonizing them. However, since Everette pulls the handcuff trick and is therefore with him nonstop, they begin to notice his wit and intelligence and the two of them start trying to one-up each other as part of an unspoken game of sorts.

3: However, Eve also drags Scroll along to a goth shop one day, assuming he won’t be interested…but instead, it turns out to be one of the first times that Scroll has been permitted to be anything other than cute in his appearance, since he doesn’t have to sell anything to Eve. He pretends to be disdainful, but they know better. (Essentially, this is a turning point for his character, in which Everette helps him try on some non-cute clothes in secret and Scroll begins to wish that perhaps there was a way for him to escape his external persona.)

4: As Everette gets closer to finding out the truth, they find themselves hoping that the culprit won’t be Scroll, simply because they enjoy their time with him. In the end, though, they are shocked when Scroll actively turns himself in, having done so in an effort to surprise Eve one last time…and maybe also because he truly wanted to be the person Eve hoped he was.

5: Scroll is arrested, and spends the better part of a week in prison. Meanwhile, Eve compiles all of the evidence that Scroll has revealed to them. Both of them miss the other… :(

6: On the day of court, Scroll is forced to stand opposite all of the people he has hurt, who have been called as witnesses. It is extremely uncomfortable for him, since he still feels awful about not being able to find a better way out of the system he is trapped in, to become the person Eve believed he could be. He has been so despondent that he hasn’t even bothered to find anyone to defend him, since he doesn’t think anyone would.

7: He is proven wrong when Everette throws open the doors to the courtroom and announces that they are his appointed defense. (He is astonished by this, and actively struggles to maintain his composure.)

8: They defend him, declaring that while he may have done wrong, he does not deserve to go to prison for it, but instead be rehabilitated and given options to improve himself. The turning point is when Cinna approaches him midway through the trial and talks to him about the things Everette is saying (hostile work environment, unfair expectations, etc.). When she notices that he seems to feel genuinely guilty, she goes back and has a word with Maca, who then comes over and talks to Scroll as well.

9: In the end, both Cinna and Maca (along with one or two of the other victims) step up and ask for Everette’s alternative deal to be considered—that instead of jail time, they be assigned to Scroll and remain alongside him to ensure that he is genuinely attempting to behave properly, via a proximity band similar to the handcuffs, but with more flexibility and distance. In the end, the judge approves this deal. (Scroll reacts with perfect composure in public, since he hasn’t healed yet, after all. Whether or not he sobbed into Everette’s jacket for a solid ten minutes afterwards is something he would never admit.)

The first line up of fae! Some extra rambles under the cut:

Had to keep these guys together of course, they're all spring-waking and fall-sleeping fae. Usually the first thing they do when they wake up is find each other again, they pretty much spend all their seasons together.

Wild Cherry likes exploring, adventuring, racing and discovering new hide-outs. They've out-flied every other fae in the waking seasons, their current goal is to wake up early enough to spend a few days in the Winter - to challenge their fastest fae to a race to prove they're the fastest out of anyone.

Sycamore loves inventing and building, they make gear and knick-knacks for everyone. Fae from all over know to seek them out for any assistance building something, they built Rose's hammer for instance! Most fae without wings can't fly, but the Sycamore's helicopter seeds have the unique ability to grant him limited flight!

English Rose loves dresses, gowns, flower crowns, everything fashion-related in the fae world - they love celebrations and usually go a bit overboard decorating - but being extra is a good thing for fae. They have a bit of a temper, but are exceptionally generous and often willing to lend a hand.

Jack O' Lantern likes exploring too, and normally digs around animals burrows and fallen logs to find things Cherry overlooks in the sky. They are wingless but are able to glide on the wind (like spores) and have fashioned some rose thorns to his gloves to climb easily. He often goes off on his own, but always comes back around to hang with the group.

All four of them are well known, well respected Fae, but have a bit of a reputation of getting into trouble. They have a strong sense of morals and will not back down from a fight - if a fairy decides to stir up trouble these four will usually have something to say about it.

(Also shout out to the person who recognised the exact bug species of Sonic's wings like immediately when I posted the wip ur a real one jkhdfgdgf)
