background: Your relationship with Ashton has been public ever since the beginning, starting in 2013 and continuing to flow and experience the life of 5 Seconds of Summer all the way until the band went on a break at the end of 2016. During those years, you took on the struggles that Ashton and the rest of the band faced which left them all having you as a permanent resident in their life. However, your relationship becomes rocky when Ashton refuses to communicate until the very moment he can’t take it anymore. His impulsive decision leads to you moving out, yet still being in his life because of the others and their friendship with you.
After parties were a staple, this was where your relationship with Ashton began, found itself strained, healed… it was an environment that was home to a lot of major events in your still young lives. It had been about 5 years since the first event you had ever gone to, an album release party hosted by a different band which got you into the public position you wore proudly. Ashton never once doubted your abilities to handle the spotlight, you didn’t mind the cameras flashing or the way members of the crowds would desperately call out your name or his. It just came naturally.
It felt like home to be wanted, to be needed by some people. The way those boys relied on you to give them their reality away from their occupations made you feel important, but Ashton clicked with you. His need was different from the others, but you needed him in the same way.
Things started to get rough when the band went on break, but even before… Ashton was slipping and it felt like communication hadn’t been valued enough. One encounter months after your breakup stayed engraved in your mind, the most vulnerable you had ever seen that man. His tears meant everything, even if he was wasted and didn’t realize half of what he was thinking fell from his lips— those tears were real. The way his shaking hands slipped through your fingertips at a desperate attempt to keep you close to him, his bloodshot eyes and wild hair… it shook you just thinking about it.
The nomination for your single sort of fell through, but in this moment nothing else mattered. Finding the drummer was your top priority and not a single disruption would ruin this for you.
The music gently shook the atmosphere, the venue filled with laughter and conversation, some dramatic, bitchy, grateful, maybe elated. These had to have been the most confusing places with everyone’s mixed emotions and different reactions to the winners and performances. Bodies were spread out, yet a tiny bit cramped due to the limited space they had for celebration. After parties were nice for this reason too, it wasn’t like your usual event thrown together and way overpacked with drunk individuals and enough alcohol to poison an entire tolerant frat house.
Finally, you pushed your way up towards the bar and was met with a familiar, inhumanely tall figure. You knew who this was immediately.
“Hey, Luke?” You called, gently tapping on the man’s shoulder.
Luke turned around, a smile lingering on his face until he made eye contact with you. “Shit, hey Y/N!” He beamed, hooking his arm around your shoulders to give you a bit of an awkward hug. You laughed anxiously, blinking to adjust to the dim lights and meet Luke’s gaze. “Good to see you!”
“Good to see you too…” You hesitated. “Do you know where Ashton is?” It seemed his face mirrored yours, curious and full of a need for answers.
“Um… yeah, I think he stepped out into the hallway? Not sure which one though, pretty sure it was over in that direction somewhere.” Luke hummed, making sure you were watching where his finger was pointing to dressed up with a chunky silver ring.
“I’ll find him, thanks Luke.” You nodded, his expression still matching yours as you both smiled at each other and he wished you good luck. Then you were set off on your mission again, weaving in and out of cliques to make sure you didn’t bump into anyone. Apology after apology, cringy glances and excuses to make your way through these people who were definitely way more important than you were.
You spotted a glass door to the main hallway of the venue, might as well try your luck… you pushed it open and was immediately met with still silence. Once the door closed, everything was muffled. You sighed with relief, closing your eyes and standing in the warm entryway light.
“Overwhelmed?” You heard a voice, opening your eyes again and looking to your left to see Ashton leaning against the wall. His tie was loose, top button of his shirt undone with his blazer strewn across the bench next to him. Would it be terrible to admit how quickly you started blushing?
“Uh… sorta.” You hesitated again, blinking innocently at him. “No, I wasn’t. I was looking for you.”
Ashton was expecting you to give a different answer rather than just being “overwhelmed”, but that wasn’t the one he was thinking of. There was visible confusion in his eyes, gently twisting his expression and deepening the subtle frown lines. “You were?” He furrowed his eyebrows, pushing his hair back in a way that told you he had product in it and couldn’t run his fingers through it like normal.
“Yeah, I was. I found Luke, he told me you’d be here, so…” Your breath caught in your throat, looking back at the door you came in through before taking a step out of the way and closer to Ashton. Tension was thick, but it eased once you saw the smile tugging at his lips. Score.
“He’s not too great at keeping his mouth shut, is he?” He looked at you expectantly, making your heart pound even faster.
“Guess not. He never was really.” You shared a grin of your own.
“Remember when we’d want some alone time?” Ashton said softly, straightening his tie again and keeping his eyes glued to your loving face. “I could never really tell him where we were going, next thing you know the whole crew would be with us in the dressing room.” The fondness of the statement made the both of you crack a smile now, it was hard during those years to actually enjoy some quiet time… maybe that’s another buffer in your development as partners. As people.
“Sorry you had to drag me everywhere you went all the time.” You giggled, Ashton instantly shook his head without a second to spare.
“Don’t be.” He waved a hand dismissively at you. “You got me through a lot, you got us through a lot. At the time you were so… normal. A real human being, without a camera, a microphone… you had a life before publicity. We didn’t.” Ashton explained, reaching out for your quivering hand. You had no idea you were shaking until this point, your nerves got the best of you.
“But—“
“That gave me no excuse to treat you the way that I did.” Ashton cut you off, and honestly, you weren’t mad about it because he had just finished your sentence for you. His thumb grazing your knuckles made your stomach turn, unable to hold back the urge to squeeze his hand in return.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. So fucking sorry.” Ashton shook his head, the sincerity in his half-lidded hazel eyes making your own eyes well up. “You shouldn’t have put up with me for that long, but, fuck… would you believe me if I told you I wanted to give you everything?”
“Just— please, stop. For just a second.” You pleaded, looking down at the floor. Without an argument, Ashton shut up. He took a deep breath, still holding your hand and tilting his head to try and look into your eyes.
“I was never angry at you, you know that? I didn’t mind that you needed space, I would have given it to you.” Another explanation to which he listened more intently than ever before, like you were teaching him the meaning of life right before his eyes. “It was your responsibility to know that, instead of leaving me feeling like… well, other reasons.” You mumbled, the implication clear of what you thought the end of your relationship was.
“I see.” Ashton hummed in understanding, feeling relief wash over him once you looked him in the eyes again. There was a bit of silence, making you hesitate to speak again. Thank god Ashton did for you. “Are you alright? Like, in general.”
You nodded, the hasty beating of your heart had come to a calm pattern now that the initial anxiety had washed away. “Yeah, I’m okay. Are you?” Ashton replied the same way, nodding silently which brought a sentimental smile to your face.
“Missed you so much.” He admitted quietly, his voice breaking in a way that had the nerves in your palms tingling with empathy.
“Missed you too… saw you just got done with tour.” You matched his tone of voice, waiting to see if this game of imitating each other would end or if it was simply subconscious.
“Yeah, it was alright.” Ashton scoffed playfully, he loved performing. “Alright” was definitely an understatement for any show he played. However his sarcasm made you laugh again, god was it contagious… he couldn’t help himself from joining in.
There was something a bit different in your laughter, your voice cracked and faltered until a tear was slipping down your cheek and making a trail in its wake. Ashton’s hand slipped around your shoulders pulling you close as you squeezed your eyes shut to avoid letting anymore tears ruin your makeup.
“I… I don’t know why, I just—“
“Shh,” Ashton interrupted you once more, rubbing your shoulder as his lips pressed to your hair. “Don’t need to explain, s’okay.” He muttered, holding you in silence for a few moments letting you take control of your emotions.
“You smell like a fuckin’ gallon of hairspray.” Ashton teased, looking down as you pulled away and left a gentle smack to his chest. The white dress shirt he was wearing now stained with your makeup.
“Not my fault.” You scrunched up your nose, another beat going by as you noticed your makeup on his shirt. “Sorry about… that.”
“Oh, heavens— it’s terrible.” Ashton grinned, shaking his head as he tilted your chin with his pointer finger and his thumb. “It’s okay, it’s just a shirt.” He teased.
A sense of contentment washed over you, smiles adorned both of your faces as Ashton pulled away to grab his jacket from the bench.
“I appreciate you. Really— a lot.” You spoke a little more clearer than you have been, catching Ashton’s attention as you both headed back towards the door.
“I’m glad, um,” Ashton started to put his jacket on, stopping in front of the door to the party. “I’m gonna be in town for a while, would you..“ His hesitance made you smile, egging him on to finish his sentence. “Would you want to get coffee tomorrow?”
“That’s it?” You laughed, expecting a much more intense request than that. Ashton’s cheeks went pink, shaking his head. “Yeah, I’d like that.” A gentle response to soothe Ashton’s nerves just as he did yours.
“Okay.” He breathed, his lips curling into somewhat of an amused smirk. There was some pride in knowing he could still make you feel the way he did years ago, the wit and humor was still there, feelings weren’t too rough… Ashton was at peace once again. He opened the door for you, comically bowing and gesturing for you to walk in before him. Your own smile never faded, entering the venue once again with Ashton trailing behind you like the last year and a half never happened.
Another pass of relief and contentment, the two of you found Luke and the others fairly quickly just by the sound of Luke’s high pitched laugh. Glances were shared between the group, but not a single word was mentioned about how there wasn’t a thick black cloud of negative energy hanging above the two of you. It felt normal again. Normal amidst died down chaos and a place with these guys where you could be content.
Inevitably, fan accounts and press were screaming over your reunion with your ex-boyfriend the next morning. Coffee that day turned into a writing session, a writing session turned into a long night spent talking about what you had missed in each other's life and how intense everything had been up until this point.

valentine | Luke
Tumblr media
Requested: yeah baby! could you write a smut abt dom!luke and fem!reader, where they’ve been best friends for years and have had just the thickest romantic and sexual tension, and luke brings y/n on tour and while she’s front row dancing and just like feeling herself to valentine, luke finds it like super hot and after the show he finally does something about the tension between the two of them. i love your work and i think you’d be the perfect person to write this!
tysm, i love you
fucking sick idea
Word Count: ~2.2k
The music was pulsing through the arena, your eyes never leaving the lead singer, your best friend and you were so proud of him. You couldn’t believe that they were on another tour, and thankfully your schedule at work allowed you to travel with them for a few shows in the states.
You loved getting to see Luke do what he does, the fact that you’ve known him since you were kids and have gotten to see him grow into the confident man that he is, it made you ecstatic.
You’ve been a part of Luke’s life for a long time, you loved him dearly. The two of you became mates way back when you were just in your first year of school. The two of you had been stuck together since then, often spending time with the other. It was insane when Luke had started getting views on his covers, and even crazier when the band formed and started getting famous.
When the band moved to the states, you couldn’t imagine not having him only five minutes away but Luke practically begged you to follow along. Luckily, you found a job nearby and your schedule was flexible for the most part.
Honestly you didn’t even know how many times you had seen them perform at this point, but you knew that it just continued to get better every single time.
His eyes found yours as they continued performing Valentine, one of your favorites from them. Luke’s vocals always killed, and tonight he was on fire again. You sang along, a small smile on his lips as he maintained eye contact.
“Got nothing but love for you, fall more in love every day. Valentine, valentine.”
You zoned out as you continued dancing along, your hips moving gently to the beat as the song continued on. You felt a gaze on you, and looked up as Luke sang, it felt as if directly to you, his eyes burning into yours.
“It don't matter just as long as I get all you tonight”
You blushed as the song continued, and he sent you a cheeky wink as the crowd continued chanting along. Luke’s gaze moved away from you, and you lost yourself in thought.
It could've been unintentional. It could’ve just been Luke being himself, a little flirt. It could’ve been something more. You were never sure with Luke, you never wanted to push the friendship past what it is.
The others always pointed out that the two of you flirted with each other, your other friend pointed out that it was annoyingly adorable how much the two of you looked at each other or how handsy the two of you were. Sure, there were drunken kisses or cuddling during movies or the occasional shared bed. You always knew you loved Luke, you just didn’t know what sort of love.
The concert wrapped up quickly, your thoughts swimming due to that tiny wink from him earlier. You were already backstage, in his dressing room and sat on the couch waiting for him to finish up. He always had his post show ritual, where as soon as he was off that stage, he was taking a shower and finding a way for his body to relax.
After a few minutes, the door finally opened and Luke pushed through the entryway. He immediately smiled as he dove onto the couch beside you. You curled right into his side, his arm wrapping around you instinctively. His fingers grazing the exposed skin on your shoulder. You sighed, feeling content as you leaned even further into him.
“How was the show?”
“Amazing as always Lu,” You said, turning in his arms so your head was now laying in his lap. He shifted his arm so it was across your chest and he held your gaze.
“It’s one thing to know that you’re always there in the audience but it was another to see you that close tonight. Dancing along to the music, you looked beautiful.” He murmured, and you felt your cheeks blush.
“I’m serious, I don’t say it enough.” He whispered and your blush deepened, “I don’t say a lot of things enough. God, you looked fucking incredible tonight.”
“Luke,” You sat up and turned to face him, about to say something but he pulled you close to him. He moved closer to you, his movements hesitant as his nose nudged against yours. You didn’t stop him.
“I need you,” He murmured against your skin, his lips barely leaving as he trailed down your neck and you whimpered into the empty dressing room, “Now.”
You nodded, your arms wrapping around him as you pulled him closer into you.
“I’m in, but I need to know that this won’t change us.”
“It’s going to change us, but for the better. Seeing you in the front, seeing you dance along to our music, it made me realize what I’ve always known all along. Why I begged you to move with us, why I need you with me on the tour.”
“I just need you,” He whispered, his lips finally meeting yours and he nearly melted into you. You tangled your fingers in his hair, holding him as close to you as possible and all thoughts were gone as the two of you continued kissing. This wasn’t the same type of kiss as before, there was something deeper there.
“Say yes,” He murmured, his nose nudging yours and you nodded, “Out loud. I can’t move on with myself if you’re not as into this as I am.”
“God, yes Luke, of course.” You whispered to him, and his lips met yours again. His kiss became more desperate, and his hands moved to the straps on your shirt and pushed them down. You leaned your body into him, quickly removing the top and suddenly feeling exposed beneath him.
“Fuck,” He breathed out, and you laughed at him as your fingers continued twirling in his hair.
“You’ve seen me in a swimsuit before Lu,”
“Yeah but this is different. I get to finally act on every thought I’ve ever had,” He muttered, pulling his own shirt off as well. You unclasped your bra and pulled him back into you, your hands rubbing his shoulders and across his back as he trailed kisses down your chest. His teeth grazed over your nipple and you gasped quietly. This all felt so surreal, but damn it did he feel great.
He pushed your skirt up with his free hand, grazing your center slightly and your hips jolted into his touch.
“So eager for you,” You whispered and he chuckled as he pulled your panties down and tossed them behind the couch.
“Can I touch you?”
“Lu, I am entirely yours. Stop asking me, and just touch me.”
“Yes ma’am,” He murmured and you giggled as he kissed the inside of your knee and slowly trailed upward to your inner thigh, then to your exposed pussy. He kissed just above your core, his touch so light and you were craving more.
“Luke, just fuck me please.” You whimpered, and he paused to look at you. He licked his lips and nodded, before pushing himself down on the couch to adjust to a more comfortable position.
“I will, just need to taste you first.” He muttered, and you were worried that he was going to be hesitant again but quickly started eating you out as if you were his last meal. He groaned as he pulled back for a second, before his tongue circled around your clit and your thighs twitched at how fucking good he felt.
His tongue dipped inside of you, his nose nudging your clit as he continued eating you out. He pushed a finger inside of you and you threw your head back against the arm rest at finally feeling him. He pushed in another, and you felt yourself adjust to his touch as his tongue continued.
“Fuck,” You breathed out and he winked at you again as he continued to eat you out and finger fuck you. Only an hour ago he was winking at you as well, and now look at how much things have changed.
“Gonna cum soon,” You moaned, and he added a third finger. At this point, you didn’t need to be warmed up anymore, and your orgasm was quickly approaching. Between everything that’s happened, you felt your thighs began to shake and you quickly came all over his face.
You whimpered as he continued licking, nearly slurping and relaxed when he finally backed up. He sat up and made a big show of wiping his arm across his face and chuckled.
“Taste fucking sweet there darling,” He muttered and you giggled as you leaned up to kiss him, “But now I want to fuck you.”
“I want you bent over this counter so you can see how fucking hot you look while I’m fucking you,” He muttered, and your eyes widened at the sudden change. You licked your lips and nodded, taking his hand as he helped you up off the couch and pulled you towards the counter.
“Just like that,” He whispered as he guided you, and helped bend you over the counter and pushed your dress up as his fingers pushed into you again. You moaned loudly,  your body adjusting quickly to him. He felt so right, and you moaned again as he curled his fingers inside of you.
“Need your cock Lu,” You grunted, and he chuckled as he pulled his hand out of you and sucked on his fingers again.
“Taste so fucking good.” He said, before pulling his cock out from his pants but he panicked for a second, your eyes on him in the mirror, “Condom?”
“I’ve had my birth control shot, and I’m clean.” You whispered, and his eyes widened as he caught your gaze. You nodded, as if to encourage him and he groaned as his palms rubbed over your hips.
“Fucking dream. I’m clean too, but I’ll do my best to pull out too.” He muttered, and you smiled as he stroked himself gently. He pushed in the tip, and you pushed yourself back to take more of him. He moaned quietly, his head falling back in pleasure as he was nearly fully inside of you, “You feel so good,”
“Just fuck me,” You whimpered, and he slowly pulled back out before he pushed inside of you fully. You could feel all of him inside you know, your body adjusting to him quickly and you desperately needed some friction.
His hands moved so they were gripping both sides of your hips, and you hoped that his fingers left marks for you to admire later. He started fucking you with more of an intensity now, his cock slamming into you with every thrust and the fact that you got to watch everything in the mirror was so fucking hot.
“Look at me,” He snapped, his fingers digging into your sides as you caught his gaze in the mirror, “Such a good fucking girl.”
For a moment, the only sounds that echoed in the dressing room were his hips meeting yours and his quiet moans from behind you. You held onto the counter as you felt your legs growing weak and put your weight onto the top. Luke continued fucking you, and you felt your orgasm approach quickly.
“Gonna cum for me?” He murmured, his hand reaching around to your clit and his middle and ring finger started to rub it in circles.
You nodded, words failing you as you pushed your back against his chest, your gazes locked on each other as he continued to finger your clit and thrust into you. Your orgasm crashed over you, and he moaned as he continued fucking you through the wave of pleasure.
You nearly collapsed into his arms, and he helped you move slightly. You knelt in front of him, your hand replacing his as you started to stroke.
“Now are you going to cum for me?” You whispered, winking up at him and he chuckled as he nodded. Luke gripped onto the counter behind you as you continued stroking him, and his cock twitched slightly before he came, doing his best to aim for your mouth but spilling down the front of your chest.
His eyes closed for a moment, his relief washing over his face as his legs buckled and you smiled up at him. You brought your fingers down to your chest and dragged some of his cum up into your mouth and he rolled his eyes as he handed you a tissue and helped clean you up.
“Come on baby, come sit on the couch with me.” He murmured, pressing a kiss to your forehead then helped you up to your feet and guided you over to the couch.
“Why didn’t we do this sooner?” You whispered, your arm lazily coming to wrap around him and he chuckled as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“The wait was worth it,”

also SHOUT OUT TO MY FAVORITE MISS SOUPERBLOOM!! she gave me tons of inspo and we’re simply just insane sluts for some poly!lashton which might be turned into a series? :] idk we have SO many ideas
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
Idly sat on the kitchen island, your legs were neatly crossed over each other as Luke stood with you and you scrolled on your phone. You could feel his hand on your leg, his thumb tracing gentle patterns on your knee and slipping into the small holes in your fishnets. Nothing about this was sexual, just soft touches and quiet giggling as you waited for Ashton to finally be ready.
“God… how long does it take to put on a fuckin’ onesie?” Luke hummed, you could just barely see his blue eyes from the side of his sunglasses. He turned to look at you after eyeing the hallway, and honestly, the cloud goggle-style sunglasses looked ridiculous.
“He should be out soon,” You said with a humorous huff of breath, your eyes followed his lanky frame dressed insanely accurately to Kurt Cobain, full black outfit and those stupid sunglasses which usually just sat atop his head and pushed back his curls slick with product.
Not even another minute had passed before Luke was insisting you take another shot with him to pre-game, nothing could get you to refuse his offer with those sweet eyes and awfully whiny tone of voice. He was already tipsy, and you were sure he’d be in deeper by the time you got to the party. With this Luke there was never a moment of silence, he was happy and giggly which was majorly separated from his usual soft spoken demeanor.
However, a few minutes later there were footsteps coming down the stairs.
“Ash?! Come on, we have to leave!” You called, getting a quick excuse that he was coming in response— and in all his glory he stood in that dumb cow onesie and… fuck. Smudged black eyeliner.
You turned to look at Luke, who’s eyes were glued onto your boyfriend in complete and utter awe. If this were a cartoon, his heart would be beating straight out of his chest and you swear you would have to pick his jaw up off of the floor.
“What?” Ashton cocked an eyebrow, picking up the car keys and waving his hand at the both of you. “I know, I know. It looks fuckin’ stupid.”
“No it doesn’t.” Luke said immediately, making you snicker and bring a hand to cover your mouth.
“This cow onesie?! It’s stupid, Luke. So incredibly stupid.” Ashton quipped, both hands on his hips as he stared at the two of you expectantly.
“No, idiot. The eyeliner. He thinks you’re talking about the eyeliner.” You explained, seeing the puzzled look on Ashton’s face slowly come back into a smirk.
“Ah, gotcha.” He approached the kitchen island you were still sitting on, allowing you to get a better look at his messy makeup. “Figured I’d go back to the emo roots, y’know?”
“Yeah…” Luke mused, both ring-clad hands cupping Ashton’s cheeks so he could look straight into those darkened hazel irises. You propped your hands behind your back, leaning back on the countertop to watch your boyfriends. Ashton seemed to be enjoying this attention, the way he slowly blinked to let Luke get his fill before gently tipping the other man’s chin to press a soft kiss to his lips.
“Hey, now…” You whined, grabbing their attention and another sweet yet cocky smile from Ashton.
“Don't think I forgot about you, cowgal.” He attempted to flirt in a ridiculous sounding southern accent. You playfully rolled your eyes and felt his hands grasp at your denim covered hips, holding you in place to give you your own loving kiss.
“You’re not funny.” You placed both hands on Ashton’s chest, helping you to get down off of the counter as you and your two loyal sidekicks headed for the door.
“Shotgun!” The sound of your voice made Luke groan in frustration.
“Not fair..!” He complained, yet didn’t put up a fight.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
Upon arriving, you realized that the lack of a theme between the three of your costumes wasn’t a big deal. No one really cared too much, and you all managed to fit in anyway. I mean, you looked better than the people who didn’t dress up at all. How boring?
Luke’s hand gently gripped your wrist, relying on you and Ashton behind the both of you to lead him through the crowd as he made quiet observations about everyone in the room. You made your rounds, greeting each of your friends as you walked about and watched as everyone practically fed Luke shots from the moment you walked in the door. The fact that you’d have to keep an eye on him was told with a shared look between you and Ashton, but there wasn’t a problem with that.
Ashton, being the more sociable one out of the three of you strayed off to enjoy more time with your friends and interact on your behalf.
Luke spoke into your ear, but you couldn’t hear too well, you could only see his wide eyes and pink cheeks.
“Hmm?” You reached out for his hand, but instead of him taking it he wrapped both arms around your waist.
“C’mere… ‘miss you.” He said sweetly, adjusting the sunglasses on his head to keep them from falling down.
“You’ve been right next to me all night, Lu.” Your tone of voice wasn’t so teasing, but definitely pointing out the obvious. “Come on, we should get you some water.”
Even though you insisted, Luke was still whining as you dragged him off towards the quieter part of the kitchen and searched around for anything to sober up your boyfriend.
“Baby!” You could hear the pout in his voice, turning away towards the sink until his arms wrapped around you again. “I wanna take another shot, come on… come with me please?” Luke spoke into your hair, his face pressed against the top of your head as you squirmed in order to face him again.
It was again that his sweet charm struck once more, you looked up into his bleary eyes and shook your head.
“You aren’t slowing down, are you?”
Luke immediately shook his head with a giggle.
“Fine.” You sighed, then the next thing you knew your arms were horribly linked together downing your next round of Pink Whitney which wasn’t helping you put your foot down and avoid your boyfriend getting blackout drunk.
“You look s’fucking pretty in that costume.” Luke murmured, hooking his pointer finger in the bandana you wore around your neck as his other hand squeezed your hip.
“Hush..” You scrunched up your nose at him, Luke let out another intoxicated giggle in response before leaning in to gently nip at your neck. His words never stopped, muttering against your skin and dragging the tip of his tongue over his teeth marks— the soft complaints you made for him to stop only drew soft laughter from Luke.
Your eyes closed for a brief moment, living in the thumping bass and the fleeting sensation of your boyfriend's lips on your neck. Until he drew back, flinching. You opened your eyes, seeing Ashton with both hands on Luke’s shoulders.
“You scared th’ shit outta me.” Luke complained, shifting just a little bit so he could see both you and Ashton under the now slightly purple light. These LEDs would drive you crazy.
“Sorry, honeybee.” Ashton laughed, nuzzling the side of Luke’s neck before he pressed a quick peck to his cheek. “Wanna come do another round with Mike and Cal?”
You angled your head to look over Ashton’s shoulder, seeing the other two guys standing at the kitchen island watching Ashton fetch you and Luke. Without a doubt, the both of you agreed with no second thought. The idea of your relationship with Luke and Ashton wasn’t very foreign to Michael and Calum, surprisingly they weren’t very curious and didn’t ask a lot of questions.
Time no longer mattered, what did matter was being surrounded by your friends while sitting in Luke’s lap to keep his pleas and begs to a minimum. None of it worked. This boy just couldn’t keep his hands to himself no matter how hard you tried to keep him pleased. Luke’s fingertips massaged gentle circles on your bare midriff, face buried into your neck like he hadn’t been near you in years. You tried to squirm out of his arms, but he really wasn’t having it. In fact, he made this sound when you moved that made you realize he was more turned on than you thought. Straining against those worn out jeans of his, you turned your head to whisper into his ear.
“Wanna go to the bathroom, baby?” You mutter, his head popping up from your neck to stare at you. His sunglasses were gone, they were now sitting atop Ashton’s onesie hoodie because they kept falling into Luke’s eyes and annoying him.
“Mm, mhm.” He replies, lips parted as he helped you off of his lap and stood up with you. You went to wrap your arm around his waist, but instead he was taking your hand while quickly weaving in and out through sweaty bodies and others who didn’t bother to find privacy.
A few seconds went by of your endless giggling as Luke tried a few doors, then finally found the correct one with an empty bathroom on the other side. Finally, some release of pressure for him. Luke pinned you to the counter, kicking the door of the cramped space shut and immediately attacking your lips with his own. You couldn’t stop laughing, gently cupping his cheeks and smiling because of how astounded you were. He had never been like this before— well, he had, but the poor thing would almost never act on it. The alcohol really helped him get across what he had desperately needed all night.
The sudden realization hit that Luke hadn’t locked the door, you pulled away from the kiss to look into his eyes. His pupils were dilated so wide you swore there was nothing but black enveloping his sweet icy blues, his cheeks were so pink and his eye makeup had started to smudge… the door suddenly didn't matter anymore. You pulled him back in for a kiss, those swollen, needy lips that were begging for yours again. Luke moaned against your mouth, his hands roaming your body before being interrupted once again.
The two of you froze as the door opened, within the same second you were relieved to see that it was just Ashton standing there. Two drinks in his hand, without saying a single word. After putting the drinks down on the counter, he closed the door behind him and actually locked it this time.
“Ash—“ Luke breathed, unable to finish his thought before Ashton was pulling him in for a kiss just as fierce as the one you were just receiving.
There was nothing you loved more than watching your boyfriends love each other, seeing Ashton’s thumbs hooked tightly in the belt loops of Luke’s jeans as he furiously made out with him was a very close second. You sat up on the counter, giggling to yourself as you picked up a solo cup and enjoyed the show in front of you. Luke rolled his hips forward trying to gain some friction from Ashton, it worked judging by how Luke gasped and Ashton sighed into the kiss.
“Don’t go… don’t stop.” Luke whimpered quietly as Ashton gently broke the kiss, he had to hush him as he turned to look at you.
“But look, Luke.” Ashton patted Luke’s hip, meeting your eyes which were burning with lust and slight jealousy. You wanted that attention too. “What, pretty? Y’want a turn now too?”
You nodded slowly, bottom lip pulled tensely between your teeth as you set the cup back down.
“Let’s see how good you are at riding the mechanical bull, huh?” Ashton flashed you a stupid grin, Luke started giggling like it was the funniest thing in the world while pressing his nose into Ashton’s done-up hair. It was now that you noticed the hood on the onesie, which doubled as the cow’s head, was resting on Ashton’s back.
“Can’t do that here— my gosh.” You smacked Ashton’s shoulder with the back of your hand, he playfully flinched back and sucked his teeth with a soft hissing sound.
“Ouch, you’ve got one hell of a hand. It’s from all that rope pulling, ain’t it?” There was that southern accent again, it was getting very annoying. So annoying that you had to tug Ashton in for a kiss to get him to shut up, he hummed in response and melted against your frame. He placed his hands on your thighs, playing with the frayed hems of the denim and squeezing as the kiss started to get desperate. Yours were on his chest, feeling up the gentle fur of the onesie which just made Ashton feel so cozy. It was incredible how he was surviving in that thing.
“Mmh, let me in…” Luke muttered from behind Ashton, wrapping his arms around his waist and resting his head against his shoulder. You briefly pulled away to look at Ashton, your smile being mirrored back at you as you appreciated the clinginess Luke seemed to possess from all of the alcohol he was allowed to have.
“So cute.” You mused, Luke starting to press sloppy, open-mouthed kisses to Ashton’s neck.
“Very.” Ashton replied in the same gentle tone, tilting his head to the side to let Luke’s hair brush against his cheek. “Needy tonight, are we, honeybee?” He teased.
Luke let out another sound, long and needy like a lost puppy. The look in his eyes made you pout, pushing a sweat damp curl behind his ear. There was a mutual gaze shared between you and Ashton, this wasn’t a need for you two at the moment. You could wait until you were home to really enjoy each other, but Luke could barely keep his hands to himself… something had to be done.
“Think I should help him out?” You raised your eyebrows at Ashton, Luke perked up and eagerly tightened his grip on Ashton’s waist.
“Mm, has he been good? Seems to me like he’s been misbehaving.”
“Have not!”
“See? Up to you, though.” Ashton shrugged nonchalantly, hiding his smirk from Luke which just made you smile.
“I think he deserves to be spoiled.” You settled this battle, keeping your ‘good cop’ front as Ashton was still the more brutal one when it came to bedroom roles. He liked to tease, he liked to push to the point of uncomfortableness where as you treated Luke like the princess he acted he was sometimes.
“Please?” Luke begged, giving you those sweet puppy eyes which had Ashton stepping back to you could hop off of the counter. Luke was already back against the wall, fumbling with the zipper of his jeans and hastily tugging at his skinny jeans.
“You don’t even know what I’m gonna do yet, baby.” You giggled, even though your next moves were predictable. Luke huffed and placed his hands at his sides, allowing you to do the work as you got to your knees in front of him. Ashton stood at Luke’s side, tilting his chin to meet his lips.
“Let our girl do all the work to make you feel good… don’t focus on helping.” He mumbled, lips brushing against Luke’s as he spoke which earned another needy whimper from the blond. Luke kissed Ashton again, humming when he felt both his jeans and boxers come down.
Their make-out session was bound to be broken the second your lips were pressed to his tip, moaning out helplessly to Ashton who gently stroked his jaw.
“Shh, relax. I know it feels good, don’t you love that mouth?” Ashton only fueled that desperate fire within Luke’s chest, he felt like he was about to burst at any moment because of how badly he was trying not to look at you, move his hips— nothing. He was trying so hard to be good, trying so hard just to stand there and take it. You had barely done anything and Luke was already in shambles.
Now, your mouth wrapped around the head of his cock and gently sucking, this is where he started to get used to the feeling. Those whimpers turned into rough sighs through his nose while Ashton placed loving kisses to the corner of his mouth, Luke wanted more than anything to tangle his hands in your hair… but he knew the consequences he would receive from Ashton if he did.
You took him further into your mouth, closing your eyes to focus as you heard the volume of his cries increase again.
“Oh my god,” He tilted his head back against the tile wall, lip twitching in pleasure as he panted out your name and earned more attention from Ashton. Your cycle continued, bobbing your head, swallowing around him, driving him crazy with a flick of your tongue. The recipe for his release, and you could tell he was close. How his hips jerked and his breathing picked up, his hands which were still at his sides balled into fists as he felt his control slipping out of his grasp.
“Better not see your fuckin’ ass leave the wall again.” Ashton scolded, grabbing Luke’s chin so he was looking at him again.
“Sorry— ‘m sorry, so close…” He whispered, voice hoarse from the effort he was putting in to contain himself. “So fucking close.” Luke repeated, moans following each word he spoke. He was waiting for the clear from Ashton, even though he didn’t technically need it.
“Not on her face. Don’t ruin the makeup.” Ashton finally said after a few moments of silence, he knew Luke needed that guidance when he was in a state like this. He couldn’t go without being told what to do, it was like he craved it, needed it so badly that he couldn’t think for himself.
That was also your cue to not pull off of Luke, stilling as you felt that intoxicating twitch before he came down your throat with a breathy whine of relief. It sounded like he hasn’t had an orgasm in months, when he was cumming in the same place this morning and coating your mouth for the second time today. You could say he was pretty spoiled, even if Ashton pretended like he was an extreme hard-ass.
Poor thing, his body went weak against the wall. Ashton had given him his sunglasses back and placed them on his head to push his curls back, you finishing up the job by cleaning up and helping him back into his jeans. Ashton was better at tending to him, he knew just the right words to say and how to treat him… you were better at straightening up and making sure everyone looked like nothing had happened. You were now turned towards the mirror, fixing your shirt and sneaking glances of the two boys behind you softly whispering to each other.
“Can you handle yourself for half an hour longer?” You turned to look at Luke, it was meant to be a bit of a tease, but he nodded and gave you a lazy smile.
“Definitely.” He agreed, Ashton chuckled and gently squeezed his hip before kissing his cheek. However, you paused with the familiarity of a song thumping from the main room. You looked at the other two puzzled, and in turn they gave you the same expression.
“What’s that face for?” Ashton furrowed his eyebrows, and the fact that your face lit up didn’t help at all.
“Do you seriously not hear that?!” You squealed, reaching out to grab both of their hands to lead them towards the door. “Blackout? Brokencyde is playing?! This is my favorite house party song ever!”
It finally clicked for Ashton, although it did take poor Luke a few more seconds to figure out exactly what you were excited about because he had that dumbfounded look on his face. Ashton started to laugh, having to help you open the door as you barreled down the hall and dragged the two with you. Luke was laughing as well, only for the reason that you were so insistent on getting out onto the dancefloor so you could show off. At least he had the promise of more treatment at home, knowing he could behave.

You around?
Sent. 2:58am
An odd buzzing from beneath your pillow stirred you awake from the deepest sleep you’ve had in weeks. Your phone buzzed once and just like that, you were awake? Couldn’t be. It had to have been some sort of sixth sense.
Call me. I miss you.
Sent. 2:59am
The silk pillowcase cradled your cheek as the buzzing continued. Bzzt. Bzzt. Bzzt.
Baby, please.
Sent. 2:59am
I miss you.
Sent. 2:59am
So much.
Sent. 3:00am
It wasn’t long before the incessant buzzing frustrated you to the point of reaching beneath your pillow and yanking your phone out from under it. The harsh light made your eyes water and burn, but the notifications on the screen made them ache even more.
ASHTON: 5 New Messages.
You’ve gotta be fucking kidding.
What was once a fluttering feeling in your chest, seeing his name sprawled across the screen, turned abruptly into agony. You didn’t think it would be so soon— him reaching out to you. It had been a month, almost to the day, since you and Ashton had called your three and a half year relationship quits. Things were serious enough to bring marriage into the question and suddenly, one random Tuesday night, it all came crashing down. He told you that it wasn’t you, that it was him, that it was the right person at the wrong time and all of the other painfully worn out cliches. To think that you even considered marrying him at all.
A crazy thought at three in the morning.
And even crazier when you thought about him texting you in the middle of the night. After a month of no contact.
have you been drinking?
Sent. 3:01 am
Your thumbs twiddle quickly and hit send, waiting for those three little deathly bubbles to pop up and confirm that no, you weren’t dreaming and yes, he was anxiously awaiting your reply.
ASHTON
Maybe. Maybe not.
Sent. 3:01am
His response makes you grumble; Ashton was absolutely insufferable— and even more so when inebriated. You didn’t want to deal with him right now, it was in your best interest to just ignore him and fight the thought of him right back to sleep.
But something inside of you wasn’t allowing this to be that easy.
go to bed.
Sent. 3:02am
ASHTON
Not until you’re in it.
Sent. 3:02am
that made no sense.
Sent. 3:02am
Why was it so difficult to put your phone down?
ASHTON
I don’t give a shit. I miss you.
Sent. 3:03am
You were far too tired to be entertaining his stupid desires at such an odd hour of the evening. The time was one thing, but the fact that he was drinking was an entirely new fish to fry. You knew that your actions had consequences, and those consequences were something you’d have to deal with in the morning.
stop texting me.
Sent. 3:04am
Maybe he’ll get the hint.
ASHTON
Come over?
Sent. 3:04am
Okay. Maybe not.
Your bottom lip had gone raw from the amount of biting you’d been doing to it recently, and it had yet to stop at all. It was a nervous habit you’d picked up after the breakup and you thought you were doing well at combating it by picking at your nail beds and twirling your hair— but now, these little ticks were coming out all at once.
You were a walking ball of nerves and haven’t been the same since that random Tuesday, almost a month ago.
no.
Sent. 3:05am
Look at you. Standing your ground. You were so proud of yourself.
ASHTON
Please?
Sent. 3:05am
fine.
Sent. 3:08am
Fuck.
The time it took for you to get yourself decent must’ve been some sort of world record. Because now, seemingly seconds later, you were in your car and hunched over your steering wheel. Taking deep breaths in as the cool leather pricked your balled up fists.
This fucking sucks.
You turned the key and the engine begrudgingly grumbled to a start. Even your car knew that this was a poor decision; sounding like it was about a five mile drive from completely giving up on you.
Lucky for you, Ashton’s house was only a mile away.
The dark winding road leading to Ashton’s driveway felt like an eternity. You were frigid at the thought of him sitting and waiting up for you, sitting on that deep mahogany leather couch with his head tossed back onto the cushions. His knee bobbing impatiently and the light of the TV making his face glow pale. A glass of whiskey, or whatever the fuck poison he picked nowadays, clutched in his hand and taking small sips until ice melted gradually and watered it down.
You hated how much you knew about him. How predictable he had become in your time being with him. You knew that whatever image your brain was conjuring up of him was probably true, down to the outfit he was wearing.
You didn’t bother texting him because you knew that the second his porch lights turned on, he’d be slouched against the doorframe waiting for you. As he always did. Your tires crunched against the gravel as you slowly pulled into his driveway; shaky hands and tired eyes working in tandem to park your car in the usual spot.
“Didn’t think you’d actually show up.”
The familiar voice pulls your gaze away from your slippers and just as expected, there he was.
His hair was a few inches longer, auburn and honeycomb waves colliding into a box-dyed mess. His roots were so much darker, after you had worked so hard on the touch ups and hours spent bent over the bathtub rinsing the bleach out to lighten his black dye job. All of that time was in vain.
There was an appropriate amount of stubble surrounding his cheeks, for the time you’d gone without seeing him. You were too busy admiring his face to notice that he was wearing the Keith Haring printed robe you had gifted him for Christmas.
You probably looked crazy.
“You asked me to come over,” you shrug, trying to make light of the situation.
“So… you came?”
“Why wouldn’t I?”
The tension rising was palpable, despite the tasteful three feet of distance between your bodies, and the only thing you could think about now was the way his mossy eyes sparkled beneath the porch lights.
“Well,” he breaks the silence with a chuckle, “Don’t just stand there. Come inside.”
You don’t say anything else after stepping over the threshold of the house you’d spent almost four years living in. Everything was the same. And you’d imagined it as so. To any normal person, a month wasn’t a terribly long time. But the time after a breakup all seems to mesh into one long day, since stepping into his house for the final time to grab your things felt like it was yesterday.
The guitars still mounted to the wall and decorated art pieces that hung to and fro reminded you of all of the effort you’d spent making this house into a home.
“Is Calum here?” you ask about his best friend and roommate, trying to pay attention to anything else in the room but him.
“Nope. He’s out.”
“Cool.”
Ashton moves around the living room with ease, unperturbed by your presence as he glides over to the connected kitchen. “Want a drink?”
“No. Don’t plan on crashing here, if that’s what you were expecting.”
He lets out a wry chuckle at your attempt to be stern, “I wasn’t expecting anything. Just— trying to be a polite host.”
“Yeah well,” you sigh, flopping back onto that old leather couch, “You don’t have to act like I’m some stranger.”
“Stranger?” he quizzes, opening the door to his fridge as his disembodied voice echoes behind you, “What makes you think I’d treat you like a stranger?”
Your shoulders tense up at his soft words, Ashton rounds the corner back into the livingroom to join you on the couch. He hands you a glass of apple juice, and you take it.
“Thanks,” you murmur, the thought of him keeping a bottle of apple juice in the fridge for you sending a chill down your spine. Despite making fun of you for it, he always remembered that it was your favorite.
“So…” he begins, shifting on the couch to face your slouched body.
You glance over at his posture, and the familiarity of it all was making your head hurt. To think that the way someone chose to sit on a couch was causing you so much grief felt unnatural.
“...How have you been?”
“Fine. Just— living. I suppose that’s all I could really ask for.”
“Living, huh? Sounds fun. Better than dying. If you said you were dying I’d definitely be a little less excited about you showing up here. Walking corpses are not as cool as they are on TV.”
The way Ashton constantly spoke in tongues drove you up the wall. “What the fuck are you even saying?”
“Sorry, I’ve— been watching a lot of TV recently. Also I, uh— had a bit to drink.”
Yeah, no shit.
A few more moments of deafening silence pass and ultimately confuse you. You aren’t sure how silence could be something so loud but alas, whenever you looked at, heard, or even thought of Ashton since that one Tuesday night, the only thing you could hear was the sound of your own quickening heartbeat.
“Do you still have my cashmere sweater?” The thought pops into your mind randomly, as he takes a moment to admire you.
“I do. Did you want it back?”
That question pulls a dry chuckle out of you, “If I didn’t, I probably wouldn’t be asking for it.”
“Fair point. I know just where I left it, too— I’ll go get it.”
Ashton shifts to the edge of the couch to stand up, but stumbles back, due to whatever he had flowing in his system. He braces his ring-clad hands onto the leather and the metal adorning his knuckles tear down into it.
Glancing at those miscellaneous metal etchings and gemstones you’d gifted him makes you think about his infatuation with rings. And, his request for only eight of them.
Your mind flashes back to the anniversaries and milestones where he attempted to collect one for every finger. It could have been preference, or maybe he didn’t foresee enough milestones in which he’d acquire them—but you were never quite sure why he didn’t ask for ten.
He was weird in that way.
“You still wear your rings?” you ask, debating on biting your tongue after letting the question slip right out.
He stops in his tracks, as does your heart, “Of course I do. Why?”
“Dunno’,” you shrug, brushing your shoulder and letting your hand linger on your skin, “Just didn’t think you’d want to after everything.”
Ashton looks at you with intrigue; with purpose. He studies the hand of yours that had been left timidly resting on your forearm.
“Well, to ask you your own question; why wouldn’t I?”
His words hit you like a freight train and suddenly there’s a tightness in your chest that wasn’t there before. You were proud of yourself for being level headed— up until the moment you realized he was right; why wouldn’t he wear those rings?
Why wouldn’t you come over?
“Ashton?” The tightness in your chest was now spreading to your entire body, coating your limbs in this strange paralysis that always seemed to happen when you thought about him.
“Yeah?”
“I miss you, too.”
You don’t even get a moment to process how quickly you were straddling his lap, your crewneck riding up your back as his hands made an effort to explore you. The kiss was heated, sure, but you couldn’t tell if the resentment you felt towards him was meshing into your desires. Those soft little whimpers escaped his chest as you practically pinned him down onto the couch between your knees. You weren’t sure what came over you. Could’ve been his newly acquired taste for classical Hollywood cinema, or the fact that smelling his cologne felt like a breath of fresh air after a month spent locked in a tight little room.
“Ashton,” you mumble his name into his lips and they ricochet back onto yours.
“Oh, Y/N”, he hums, “How I’ve missed you, baby.”
Your tongues danced beneath the glowing of the silver screen, Casablanca being the most appropriate film to be on his television right now.
“I’ve–” your breath staggers, taking a moment to nip at his bottom lip, “I’ve missed you too. God fuckin’–”
The words you were meant to speak were entrapped by soft moans, as Ashton pulls you into his airy pajama pants. He holds you tightly, like he had never left.
“Do– do you–” He attempts to ask the question, the age-old question that had you rethinking your decision to come to his house in the first place.
“I don’t know…”
Your hand travels up to his hair and drags down to cup his cheek, the stubble slightly scratching at your palm and reminding yourself of the blisters that were left in the place of Ashton’s many, many attempts to teach you the drums. Two and a half years of consistent practice paid off.
“That’s okay,” he consoles, nuzzling his cheek into your hand, “We don’t have to do anything. We could just– lay here, y’know? Never minded it, still don’t.”
His answer surprises you. You nod and stutter, unable to form a coherent thought due to the warmth of his bare chest beneath his robe.
“Mmmh. You know what?— I change my mind.”
He chuckles, “Do you, now?”
“Yup. I want to. Gotta’ get whatever the fuck this is— out of my system.”
You couldn’t describe the way Ashton’s face morphed into that of a kicked puppy. The pain in your chest was blatantly obvious now, like a subtle pinprick every time the dim lights would catch the sparkle in his eyes.
“Out of your system?”
“I didn’t— I didn’t mean it like that,” you say; an oxymoron of sorts. Since the elephant in the room started stomping around and now, you were straddling him and tucking a lock of his hair behind his ear.
“I guess I can’t disagree with you. I’ve been missing you a lot but— I don’t know, I can’t really place what I’m feeling.”
Your lip tugs to the side, as does his. Twin looks of confusion in an effort to read each other’s faces. “Let’s just— pick up where we left off? Maybe it’ll help get your mind off the existential dread.”
“Existential dread, huh? Is that what this feeling is?” he asks, his hands running up and down your spine beneath your crewneck.
“Yeah, sure,” you swallow hard, harder than you’d intended and you choke on your words, “We can call it that.”
He whispers your name softly and the chills start running down your body. His voice was the one thing you couldn’t get over; no matter how many nights you’d spent staring at the ceiling in an effort to change that. You’d hear him calling out to you every time the wind blew and hearing him say it right in front of you felt like a slap in the goddamn face.
“Y/N, I’m sorry—”
“It’s a little too late for that now, don’t you think?”
You hated to be so morbid and dry but in the end, it was true. If he had wanted to give apologies where they were due, they should’ve been said the moment he called it quits.
“I figured it’s better late than never. You deserve an apology for— everything that went on.”
Your face turns cherry red, a sudden wash of anger flushing over your cheeks. You push yourself off of his chest with a force that you didn’t even know you were capable of. He jerks back, awe-stricken at the sudden change.
“Oh fuck you Ash. You’re so full of shit,” you mutter, fueled with sudden rage, “If you really wanted to apologize you’d have been at my doorstep a month ago. You don’t care about me. You only care because I’m right in front of you and looking at me hurts too much for you to ignore it.”
“You think I don’t care about you?…”
Ashton’s voice cracks and suddenly you were feeling awful for blowing up unprovoked. The notch in his forehead grows deeper as he studies your infuriated face with sincerity.
“Y/N, of course I fucking care about you. Are you kidding me? I care about you more than anything in this world.”
Another one of those pinpricks tugs at your heartstrings.
“Then why did you let me go?”
Without a moment’s notice or any sort of explanation, Ashton pulls you back into his chest and slots his lips against yours. You don’t fight it. In fact, you embrace it. Another frenzied kiss of daring tongues and roaming hands against the places that felt so familiar to the both of you.
Just as the kiss goes rogue and his lips sloppily traipse down to your jaw, you feel a small droplet roll down your cheek. One that didn’t belong to you.
A quiet sob is preceded by a sentence that rips your heart out of your chest.
“I never wanted to. I never wanted to let you go.”
“Ashton,” you murmur, feeling your eyes welling up just the same, “I—I didn’t know—”
He interrupts your thought with a string of kisses down your neck towards your chest. His hands roam with fervor, feeling you up as though you were the last thing he would ever be allowed or able to touch. You embraced his blistered hands and the way they knew every crease and divot in your body, how effortless he was at drawing you back in.
“I never knew how to get you in front of me to actually say the things on my mind but now that I have you I just— I couldn’t fight the pain in my chest when I looked into your eyes for the first time.” His rambling was trailing off into muffled sniffling and staccato phrasing; it was causing you physical pain to hear him this way.
“I just assumed you hated me. I thought you never wanted to see me again, Ash. Why didn’t you say this sooner?”
“What? No. No, I don’t hate you,” he defends, still solemn, “I just— didn’t know how to reach out. It took me a lot to swallow my pride and send you that text, Y/N… I’ve never been good at communicating.”
“Tell me about it,” you break the tension with a lighthearted hand, but remnants of your feelings for him lingered above your head like a storm cloud.
“But my actions have consequences, I’ve learned… I’d drive past your house and it’d take everything in me not to bang on your front door and drop down to my knees. Beg you to forgive me for everything I put you through… Everything I do reminds me of you in some way and— it was hard to even think about the two of us existing in the same universe without the other by our sides. It just, it didn’t feel natural—”
You felt sorrowful enough to place a kiss on his cheek as he rambled on, masking tears of your own and letting them drip down his cheek.
“— And when you told me ‘no’ after I’d asked you on a whim to come here, I thought it was over. My entire life flashed before my eyes and you weren’t in it and it just— it fucking killed me.”
“But Ashton, I’m here,” you say, watching his face deconstruct into more of a manic expression as he digressed, “I’m not going anywhere.”
“I know you’re here. You’re here now and— I know you always told me to live in the moment, but fuck. There’s so much left to say.”
You cup his jaw and tilt his gaze back into yours, after it had wandered behind your head as it always seemed to do.
“I’m sure there’s a lot to say but Ashton, you’ve made up your mind. That’s just… the way things go.”
Another tear falls rogue from his malachite eyes and your thumb is there to catch it. His gaze is gut-wrenching, plucking at every single one of your impulses and all of the progress you’ve made in getting over him.
“Is it too late to change that?”
Your mind starts reeling. The words you’d never thought you’d hear coming from his mouth were finally out in the open and there was no sign of him taking them back. The initial issue was his lack of communication but fuck, you didn’t know it would come back to bite you so soon.
You’d be lying if you said you hadn’t thought about sending him a simple text to meet for coffee in hopes to ‘change his mind’, but it seemed as though he was thinking about it just as much as you were. There was no point in fighting it anymore. The two of you were meant for each other. If a month of no contact was all it took for him to realize how much he needed you…
…Then maybe that random Tuesday night wasn’t the worst thing after all.

a/n: this is old </3
masterlist
It was getting late. You had decided to go to a party closer an opposite side of the city with your friends—who were best friends with a group of boys.
It was a Halloween party, you had just dressed up as a simple angel. You had nothing in your closet as it was a last minute decision to go, and that was the only thing you could put together from previous years.
It was your third year of college, and you weren’t one to turn down a party. Even though you were upset at your friends for feeling the need to attend an hour before it begun, you still went. It was Halloween! You wanted to have fun.
So, you put on your white eyeliner and cute outfit and decided to go have a ball. You might have looked a little childish since your friends dressed, well, to be undressed, but, you hoped they could get some and have an eventful night. You weren’t looking for anything other than a good time.
As to the particular boys who were hosting this party, they were all nice. Calum was the closest to you guys, always checking up in the group chats and reaching out to invite you to these type of things.
None of the boys were dressed up, each in comfortable house attire. You thought it was very lame, not the type of energy a Halloween party should have.
Sometimes you felt forgotten, but it wasn’t anything towards your friends. You just weren’t as close to all the people they were. You got along with them well, Ashton, Michael, Calum, and Luke. You had spoken to Luke less than the others, as he was a little shy, but you knew he was a good guy.
As it was getting late, an incredibly heavy thunderstorm had begun. The people in the room lessened as bodies were leaving and you and your friends helped clean up. Nobody ever bothered to stick around for that part.
“Wow, it’s incredible outside,” Michael said as he walked to throw out some garbage he picked up.
“Oh shit! What are we going to do? We can’t drive home in this. The one time we all stayed sober, too,” Your friend let out a chuckle.
As all they all talked amongst themselves they decided it was the best to spend the night. Heat rose to your cheeks. Where were you going to sleep? You didn’t like sharing rooms or spending the night anywhere other than your bed. Thunderstorms terrified you already.
You sighed to yourself and sat down on the sofa as you finished your last spot of cleaning.
“There’s a spare bedroom upstairs. It’s a queen sized bed. There are four of you though, anyone can take the floor or we can pull out some cushions from this couch,” Ashton shrugged.
You spoke up before anyone else took the offer, “If you guys are all cool with sharing a bed I’ll just take the couch down here,”
“Are you sure? There can be enough space if anyone wants to stay in our rooms too,” Calum said.
Luke was looking at his feet. He ruffled a hand through his hair and then pulled out his phone, sitting down across from you.
“Nah, thank you, but it’s fine. I honestly prefer it,” You sent him a shy smile, to which he mirrored back.
Your eyes landed on your friends, who were each sending you apologetic looks from across the room. You also smiled their way, waving your hand, telling them not to worry about it.
Ashton sighed, “Well, it’s been a long day guys, so I’m heading up. Thank you all for coming, we’ll see you in the morning.”
Everyone agreed and said goodnight, piling up the stairs one after another, except Luke, who wandered a few steps away into his room and shut the door.
It actually felt nice, the air conditioner kept the room cool and a comforting silence.
The only thing that sucked was the clothes you had on. You were waiting for someone to offer, but you’re sure it just slipped their minds. You were wondering if you could pull off just sleeping in your costume, but the thought of your skirt riding up and one of the guys finding you on the couch exposed made you nervous. You wandered over to Luke’s room since he was the closest and knocked on his door.
It took him a minute before he opened the door, his hair matted against his forehead and his face a little red, breathing heavy which was concerning. You decided not to dwell on it and just ask before he fell asleep. It had been a solid fifteen minutes after everyone said goodnight.
“I’m so sorry, but I can’t sleep in these clothes. Do you mind if I borrow some? I swear I’ll have them back in the morning.” You rambled, biting the inside of your cheek out of nervousness. You wouldn’t feel this bad if you had talked to him on the regular, but you didn’t.
It took him a little while before he actually responded, just staring at you, “Yeah, yeah of course.”
Luke opened the door wider so you could walk in. You took the time to admire the small, but comfortable room he had as you waited for some clothes. A tiny sofa chair, guitars, and posters aligned in a corner along with other items that resembled his character.
You felt a tap on your shoulder and turned around to see Luke, holding folded items as he extended them out to you.
“Thank you so much,” You said as you showed a small smile, “Like I said I’ll have these back tomorrow.”
He waved, “Stop, I don’t care about that. Get some sleep. There’s a bathroom along the other side of this wall for you to change.”
You glanced out the door to where he pointed and started walking towards it.
“Goodnight, I’ll see you in the morning,” You said to the blonde boy, making your way into the bathroom.
You set the clothes on top of the sink and started undressing. He had given you four items. A pair of boxers, a t-shirt, crewneck, and sweatpants. You put on the boxers and t-shirt and left the others on the sink folded next to your costume.
The thought of wearing another boy’s clothing made you blush, but you pushed the thought away just as fast as it entered your mind.
It was no doubt Luke was a very attractive man. You end up feeling upset sometimes that you’re not close with him because you want to spend more time with him. He’s also part of the reason you came to this party.
Flicking off the lights, you shut the door and made yourself comfortable on the couch. Ashton had brought you down pillows and covers as well.
You spent the next ten minutes scrolling on your phone before attempting to go to sleep.
———————————————————————————
Flashes of white keep you unsteady for the next half hour.
The uncomfortable couch didn’t help, the whole situation made you break out in sweats. Readjusting your position for what felt like the hundredth time that night, you ended up on your back.
Thunder roared as you jolted. You sat up, you were never going to fall asleep.
Before you could shut your eyes in effort to ease your restlessness, a door squeaked open and light dimly lit the room. Your head turned, noticing Luke standing in the doorway.
“Are you ever going to fall asleep?” He asked, tone nothing but serious.
You felt so embarrassed. You figured it wouldn’t be that obvious you were tossing and turning, but the noises of the couch creaking every time you turned didn’t help, “I’m so sorry. Did I wake you?”
He rubbed his tired eyes, “What’s keeping you awake?”
“The storm, and I can’t seem to get comfortable.”
He walked towards you and reached to collect your pillows and sheets, “Come sleep in my room. There’s only one window and I have thick curtains.”
“No, no, I promise you it’s fine.”
“You’re not going to fall asleep out here. C’mon.”
You sighed, “Thank you.”
He smiled, “Don’t mention it.”
You walked into his room and he put your pillows and sheets on the recliner. Walking towards it, Luke’s eyebrows furrowed. “What are you doing?”
“Um, getting ready to sleep.”
“You’re taking the bed, don’t even think about arguing it’s too late for that.”
You shook your head. “Luke I already feel guilty about waking you up. Please let me take the chair.”
You heard fake snores. Wow, okay.
You chucked to yourself. “Thank you.” Getting into his unmade bed, you flicked off the lamp on the nightstand as you both said goodnight.
Yet the thunderstorm was only getting worse. You spent the next five minutes embracing the cold sheets before realizing you were too scared to sleep alone.
You felt so embarrassed. Back home, you were able to tell one of your girlfriends to sleep in the same bed- yet share a respectable distance.
Shivers went down your spine. You had to suck it up, just for one night.
Before you could let your thoughts wander any deeper, you felt the bed dip and a faint smell of cologne. “I can see you shiver every time there’s movement outside. Is this okay? Are you uncomfortable?” Luke was spooning you— he draped his hand over your waist, pulling you closer to him.
You could cry, really, and the last few hours emphasized feelings for this boy that you didn’t know were already there. You felt your entire body get hot, yet all tension left it at the same time. You eased into his touch, pushing your head further into the pillows which resulted to his in your neck. You swore there were tears welling in your eyes.
“Yeah, very comfortable. Thanks.” you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding.
He didn’t break his position. “We’re in a really intimate position right now, so I feel like there’s no other time to bring this up, but, I really want to get to know you better. I really like you,” the blonde chuckled.
“I do too, Luke. I would love to spend more time with you.”
You swore you were dreaming. You were all alone a few minutes ago, and now you’re sleeping in Luke’s bed— with him.
You felt his fingers move to your side, the digits playing and fidgeting with your exposed skin. He untucked his head from your neck, instead moving your hair over your shoulder and kissing along the space he created.
Heat immediately erupted all over your body. God, it’s been so long— too long— since you’ve been touched.
You melt into him, arching and breathing heavy. He sits up, leaving you both on your side, but to get easier access to your body.
Luke continues suckling on your neck, making noticeable marks no doubt. He nips at your ear, creating marks down your jaw. The blonde continues his suckling for a while, going back and licking at each of the marks before flipping you on your back.
You both can barely see each other, Luke flicks on the lamp next to his bed yet it’s still so dark you can only see his prominent features.
His face is flushed, lips parted and puffed, hair disheveled. So much like when you opened the door to ask for clothes an hour or two ago.
You’re sure you look similar— you feel heat course throughout your body and you’re incredibly needy for him and his touch.
He reaches forward after admiring you for a good while. “Can I take this off?” Tugging at your shirt.
“Yes.”
You practically cry out, you didn’t want to seem too touch deprived— but damn was this getting you.
He pulls up your shirt and admires your beauty. He looks like he’s starving and you’re the only meal in the room. “God help me,” he mumbles.
You chuckle, but it’s cut off quickly as he reaches down to start toying with your breasts. “Mm, such pretty tits all for me. Right? Just f’me?” You gasped, you weren’t expecting dirty talk this soon, but it was working. You were soaking your panties, you’re so sure the patch can be seen through his boxers.
“Mm, yes baby,” you moan. You were always loud in bed with each experience you’ve had. Most of the guys didn’t like it, so you tried to keep quiet this time.
Luke did the unexpected, bringing his mouth down to suck along your breast, keeping attention on the other as well. You closed your eyes, lost in bliss as he slightly nibbled your nipple. You cried out, glaring down at him just to see him already glaring up at you.
He switched, doing the same exact thing to the opposite breasts. It was going to be a long night and you’d be lying if you said you weren’t looking forward to it.
“How wet are you?” He murmurs as he glides down your body, peppering kisses until he meets the waistband of your—his—boxers.
You’re taken aback by the question, “what?”
“How wet did you get for me?” He repeated.
“Um, I want you,” you blushed.
He chuckled, “I know you do baby, but that wasn’t my question. I want you to tell me how wet you are. Can you feel it?”
“Yes, I can feel it Luke.” You want to break eye contact, but it feels impossible, the way he’s looking at you is addicting.
“Describe it to me. How does it feel?” He continues.
You moan, “I can feel it soaking my panties, Luke. It’s gushing out of me and I’m sure you’ll be able to see it through your boxers. I need it, please, I need you so bad.”
His lips part a good amount. He looks even hungrier than before, and you can tell your words tested him. The blonde wasn’t expecting you to be so— descriptive.
“Fucking christ, well let’s see then?” He sits back on his knees as you arch up for him, wanting him to see that you want him to see.
You were right, you’re absolutely soaked through and the wet patch is even bigger than you both expected. Luke sighed heavily.
“Looks like you’re right peach. Fucking drenched. You’re incredible.” You gave him innocent eyes when you looked up at him.
Boldness hit you. You wanted to say something, but debated saying it because you didn’t know if he would be into it or not. Taking a chance, you reply,
“Are you going to clean up my mess, sir?”
What were once oceanic blue orbs turned to navy, all you could sense was lust. Luke wasted no time. Ripping off his boxers and your panties in one go.
He lay flat on his stomach before diving right into your core. You slammed the palm of your hand onto your mouth, moaning right into it.
Right away, he rips your hand off your mouth and puts it into his hair. You tug at his locks. The strokes if his tongue were going back and forth between your entrance and clit. You glanced down at him and it was the biggest mistake, his glare towards you was enough to make your head fall right back to where it was on the pillow as your eyes rolled back.
He sucks your sensitive nub into his mouth, and it’s impossible to not hear the slurping. You’ve never felt pleasure like this before, in fact, you think this is the first time someones ever gone down on you. You bite your lip to surprise your moans, but it barely works.
Luke switches up, his mouth going down to push into and lap up at your core, cleaning up all the arousal that’s pooling out of you. He brings his fingers into the mix, thumbing at your clit and rubbing circles so roughly.
He continues his assault on your pussy in the most euphoric way. He sits up, his fingers still pumping inside of you.
“Baby, thinking about all the things Im going to do to you when you’re mine.. G’nna fuck this tight little pussy so good, so hard..”
You groan, “Please baby. Tell me how, tell me.”
“Mmm. Fuck you messy n’ tired. Take you from behind, slowly, and feel you up, kissin down your back. Or I’ll have you so good that you cum so much it hurts, but you still ask for more.”
He puts his mouth back on you and you cum right then and there. It’s such bliss you don’t understand how someone could ever make you feel like this. Flashes of white flash behind your eyes and you can’t tell if it’s lightning filling the room or just your aftershocks of the orgasm.
Luke is still going, lapping up your cum that leaks out of you. You’re hand that’s raked in his hair starts tugging, telling him to stop. He pulls back, coming up immediately to kiss you.
“That was incredible, thank you. I’ve never felt that before,” you compliment. He gives you a lazy smile.
You notice his erection against your leg as you sit up. “Let me take care of you?”
“Mmm, we both need sleep love. In the morning? Wake me up with it.” He smirks. Your face heats up again.
The boy pulls his shirt back over you, turning off the lamp and tucks you both into your covers.
Before you fall into a deep and comfortable sleep as Luke is rubbing your back, you think of what has just happened and smile to yourself. This event will play back in your head forever, and you can’t help but hope everything that’s happened with Luke will continue to evolve.
You hear and feel his quiet breathes, and you realize you’re not sure if you can ever sleep without him during thunderstorms again.
