It's the dead of night, everyone is on a jet/helicarrier coming back from a rough mission and most of them are exhausted. Peter is sitting his head down and tensed and Sam's annoying ass goes "peeetah-" peter is immediately restrained as he tries to kill sam in a frenzy and the little shit is just laughing his ass off. He has been doing this the entire day regardless of the gravity of danger they were in
Peter has to be sedated.

An unfortunate side effect of post-concussion syndrome my roommate discovered was light sensitivity. She got these really bulky glasses to remedy the strain on her eyes when looking at screens and she hates them.

I see a lot of things about Sams dad being an alcoholic- is that a headcannon? And either way is that something Sam deals with too? Does he drink at parties or does he hate the sight and ask the team not to drink around him? Does the team know why he would hate alcohol/ drink it?
Jesse's alcoholism is canon in Sam's comics. You can read them here.

Stay
Nova (Sam Alexander) x gn!reader
You were celebrating with the Guardians your more recent victory: you stoped the operation that would destroy the planet Earth. You had a little help from Nova's friend, Spiderman, but still it was a victory. However, looking around the room, you noticed someone was missing.
Sam was looking to the Earth throw the spacecraft's window, thinking about the friends he left behind. He barely decided to stay with the Guardians and he was already missing the others.
You knew something was wrong with him. You both were friends for a long time and you knew he never kept quiet unless something was wrong. At least, this time you knew what was bothering him.
"You're going back, aren't you?" You asked as you leaned against the wall beside him.
"After so long in the Earth, there became my home too. But I don't want to stay away from the most important thing in my life again." He said turning to you. He approached and grabbed your hand. "Come with me."
You blushed.
You knew you liked each other, but neither of you made a move because of the responsibility as Guardians, a relatioship between two young and not mature enough members could be a problem on the battlefield. And when he left to Earth you tought you'd never see each other again, but here was he, after so long, asking you to go with him to the planet he called home.
"There's a academy called S.H.I.E.L.D. where we train to be heroes to protect the Earth. I'm sure my boss will accept you! We can stay together then!" He said excited, just as always.
You sighed. "I'd love to, Sam. But I have to stay with the Guardians, specially if you're leaving again." His smile fell. Your heart broke for it, but you had to be realistic.
"Why do things have to be like this?" He asked sadly.
"Because this is the real world. Today we won the battle, but I'm sure the war isn't over yet."
"Then I'll stay here, with you." He decided.
"Sam, you don't have to say goodbye to the Earth because of me. I know how much you wanna go back there. So, don't feel tied on me."
"What if I want to?" He steped closer. His lips hovering yours.
"Then you're making the worst choice in the world." You smiled.
"I doubt that." He said gently pressing you on the wall. "Now, enough of this talk. If you're not coming with me, I don't want our last talk to be a discussion."
"What do you want to do, then?"
He smiled and caught your lips on his. You expected this since the day you found out you were in love with him, but you didn't want things to happen like this, with him about to leave again for undetermined time. But at the same time it felt so good, so right. This could be the last time you'd meet and you didn't want to regret anything.
Soon enough, you moved to the bathroom, the only place where you could have some privacy since the Guardians shared the same room to sleep. You allowed him to touch you, to show you how much he loved you. No need to say you went to sleep late that night.
The next day, Nova left to the Earth. You watched him go 'till his figure was to far to be seem. Gamora arrived to your side and looked at the space quietly.
"At least, you had fun last night?" She asked.
"What? I don't know what you're talking about." You spoke blushing.
Gamora didn't tease you about that, but she smirked when she saw the little hickey on your neck.

It was almost one year ago. You never tought you'd have the chance of seeing him again. But when came to your knowlegment that Titus was going after Sam for his helmet you and the Guardians ran to get on the Earth before him.
However, in the middle of the way you got attacked by the chitauri army and, beside Drax and Gamora, you fought them. But the three of you got very injuried and the others put you in the healing capsules.
You needed some more time to recover. When you woke up, Nova and his spider friend were in the spacecraft. You were going to talk to them, but Sam told Star Lord to turn back to Titus' spacecraft because he knew what he had to do.
Just as Sam was about to leave the spacecraft, he looked at you and smiled softly.
"Sam, what are you...?" You didn't have time to finish.
He jumped off and flew to Titus' direction. He pierced the enemy's spacecraft and, as a show of lights, the blue traces of his powers made drawings on the sky as he kept attacking 'till the craft fall.
Without his army or weapons, it was easy to catch Titus. Soon, the Guardians were ready to leave the Earth, but you were not.
"Sam." You walked to him. "You did amazing there."
"Thanks, Y/N. I know I'm awesome." He smiled confident and you rolled your eyes.
"Next time, try to don't get yourself in so much trouble." You joked and turned to leave, but he held your hand.
"Stay." He asked softly looking into your eyes. "I miss you." You hugged him.
"Oh, Sam. There's no day I don't think of you. But I can't stay. The Guardians need me." You explained sadly.
"But I need you too." He tightened the hug.
"Sam-" You puled away to look at him.
"Let me finish." He put a finger on your lips. "I know you like me, and you know I love you. Titus is defeated, the chitauri have no leader now and won't come after us. The war is over. We can stay together now." Sam held your hips and grabbed your chin to give you a little peck on the lips. "Please." He gave you puppy eyes.
You wanted to say yes. You didn't want to stay away from him anymore. But what about the Guardians?
"I'm Groot!" Groot yelled.
"You heard him. Say yes, Y/N." Sam repeated, leaning foreheads with you.
Looking deeply in his eyes, you whispered. "Yes." Then you kissed.
You heard the spider guy saying 'gross' and leaving. When you pulled away, the Guardians took flight and left.
Sam passed an arm around your shoulders and you passed one arm around his waist and laid your head on his shoulder, while you both watched the spacecraft leave the Earth.

When he gets the call from Peter, the first thing he does is ask for you
But you can't come
It's too far for Peter to get you from your place in so little time
Ben makes him promise to pass a message to you
The next morning, Peter's at your door with some chocolate and a note
It's short, to the point, vaguely sappy
Ben apologizing for being an idiot, for lying, for throwing away everything he had
For choosing his job over you
It ends with him saying that "I could never show you as much of the love you deserved. I'm sorry.. I can never stop loving you, for any reason. The job still needs to be done. I love you."
Peter explains that Ben had probably written it right before the takedown of Shield, and intended for you to find it yourself
Obviously didn't work that way
And now, you were stuck with the knowledge that he "can never stop loving you", and the belief that your boyfriend was dead.
