Juleka, weilder of the butterfly miraculous

I know it's outright said in an MLB that someone will succeed HawkMoth as weilder of the butterfly miraculous and that person, whomever they may be, will be another baddie fighting Ladybug and Chat Noir. But, if LB and CN ever succeed in retrieving the butterfly miraculous I think it would be awesome if they bestowed it on Juleka and here's why:

1. There's a subfamily of butterflies called the hairstreaks and one of those butterflies in this subfamily is called, yep, you guessed it, Purple Hairstreak. I dunno, but I think Hairstreaker is kinda a kick ass, rock'n'roll name that would be perfect for her to go by.

2. I know if used properly the butterfly miraculous holder can akumatize a whole army of supporters, but wouldn't it be great if she didn't have to? If she found 1 person who could be the equivalent of an army? You know who it would be, right? Yep, you guessed it: Rose. Think about it. They'd be partners, just like LB and CN. Juleka would be the strategist working from afar, which also fits her shy personality, sending her most capable warrior into battle. And let's not forget, Rose can be damn scary when she's pumped up and frustrated. She screams at Marinette in the Chat Blanc episode to just finally go for it and tell Adrien. And, we saw how strong she is in Zombiezou, picking up and carrying Chloe. She could totally do it. Her name? Well, i kinda like Lady Gossamer because it sounds romantic like Rose, but I'd also like that name for Marinette if she ever weilded the butterfly miraculous because gossamer is not only a type of butterfly but also a fabric and would tie into her designer aspirations. So, for Rose I would call her Kaleidoscope because that it what a group of butterflies is called and she's replacing the need for the akuma butterfly army.

3. In order to be akumatized for good purposes, Rose would have to have good feelings of love and happiness. So how would Juleka ensure Rose feels loved and happy? By kissing her of course! Long live JuleRose!!!!

Miraculous Ladybug headcanon - PV Felix:

You know how Adrien replaced PV Felix because Astruc and Company found Felix too unappealing? They just couldn't get his characterization right apparently. How could Bridgette/Marinette ever fall for this guy when he's such a jerk, right?

May I suggest that Astruc should have based PV Felix on Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice? Darcy is rich and handsome, but a total snob, or at least that's the first impression Elizabeth Bennet has of him. He's arrogant and prideful. He has a high opinion of himself and a low opinion of everyone else. Sounds like the perfect model for Felix, right?

Now, in order for Darcy to be redeemed he needs Lizzie to call him out on his bad behavior, so it makes me wonder if maybe the original Marinette, aka Bridgette, was too much of a pushover? Because, yes Astruc is right, Bridgette shouldn't fall for Felix...right away. She should be allowed to hate his guts at first and then slowly realize that he's not all bad and that maybe she ultimately misjudged him. Lizzie certainly hates Darcy at first whilst at the same time I think she's secretly attracted to him or at least his looks. She's hurt when he insults her beauty or lack there of. But, let's not forget how Marinette and Adrien meet. Marinette hates Adrien's guts when they first meet not so much because of who he is character wise, but who he is friends with and a misunderstanding about his actions. Once she comes to know him, she falls for him completely. I think the same could have been done with Bridgette and Felix, but instead of it being over a misunderstanding and Felix not being in the wrong, let it be about who Felix is as a person and allow him to be wrong or imperfect. Let the confrontation with Bridgette be a cat-alyst (forgive the pun) for change in his character. He realizes he's a stiff, arrogant ass, but that's not who he means to be. So he makes changes: appologizes, helps others when he doesnt have to, and explains his actions, which had reasonable motivations not melicious ones. Allow that change to happen over the course of an entire season, not 1 episode, with no backtracking, ahem episode order matters, so that by the end of Season 1 Bridgette realizes to her surprise that she's in love with Felix because he's earned it. And, she takes a steo back, realizing that she was in the wrong for judging him too quickly, so now she gets some character growth.

In terms of LadyNoir, I think you could have still used Chat needing a kiss from LB to break his curse as motivation for him wooing her, but again over the course of season 1 he comes to value her as a superhero, a partner, a friend, because at first LB was a wreck, even a liability, but gaining confidence and experience she becomes the superhero Paris deserves, not just needs. ;) So by the end of Season 1 he's actually in love with her and stops (!) trying to woo her because he not only doesn't want to use her but also would rather bear the curse than allow her to fight Hawkmoth alone.

So by the end of Season 1 we have the love square set up: Bridgette in love with Felix, Chat Noit in love with Ladybug. And, we have two characters that have grown into themselves and into their love for the other person in a reasonable way, not being in love with a facade or an idealized version, which arguably we currently have with Adrien/Marinette/Chat Noir/Ladybug.

An Idea for a Fic I'll Never Get Around to Writing: Baby Daddy - Part 1

Aged up AU

Having just broken up with Kagami Adrien goes over to Juleka and Rose's place for dinner. He thinks it's to cheer him up, but they have a big ask of him.

Rose is in a bit of a state as she prepares the dinner. Juleka is trying to soothe her wife's nerves, trying to be positive even though that's not her strong suit, but she knows it's what Rose needs right now.

"It's gonna be fine, Rosie. Don't worry!"

"It has to be perfect!" she fusses.

"I don't think Adrien will care if the green beans are cut lengthwise or crosswise."

"What if he says no?"

"Then we'll figure something else out," Juleka smiles and then gives her a hug. They jump apart at the sound of the doorbell.

Adrien arrives, depressed. He's not over his breakup, but he's thankful to be with friends to cheer him up and distract him. He hasn't been out much since Kagami left him. He sits down and samples the appetizers. He tries making small talk, but he's starting to pick up on the women's mood. They're staring at him.

"I'm fine really," he tries to reassure them, thinking that they're concerned for him in this vulnerable state. "Or i will be. Its just...I thought I finally found someone, but...I dunno, I think maybe its for the best? I mean, Kagami doesn't want kids and I do, so I would've had to give that up. And, I realized I don't want to give that up. I really, really want kids. But...I dunno if that will ever even happen for me now, certainly not soon given my current relationship status, or lack there of."

"Don't be so sure," Juleka mumbles.

Rose nervously twitters. Adrien looks between the two women and asks what's going on.

"We want you...to be our baby daddy!" Rose exclaims, clasping his hands with hers. Adrien pulls away in surprise, incoherent squeaks erupting from his mouth.

"We'd like you to help us father a child," Juleka explains.

"I'd be the baby mama! I sooo want the experience of child birth!" Rose exclaims. Juleka smiles at her, grateful that her wife is willing to fulfill that role. As much as Juleka would like to raise a child, she has no interest in carrying it or giving birth.

"Umm..." Adrien's mind is reeling. "How?" He asks pointing at Rose's belly. "Not?" He turns his finger to point at himself and then back at her.

She laughs, "No, silly! We just need some of your little swimmers."

"A donation...for artificial insemination," Juleka supplies.

"Right," he breathes, still processing. "But, me?"

"Of course you!" Rose giggles. "We've know you forever! You're one of our closest friends! You were the first person we thought of," Rose continued.

"Really?" He asked in surprise. "Even before Luka?"

Rose nodded, "We did also consider Luka, but Juleka felt it a bit..."

"Incestuous," she said, completing Rose's sentence.

"I think she's afraid I'd go around telling people I'm having my brother-in-law's baby!" Rose laughed.

"You would," Juleka quipped.

"That's true! I would!" She agreed. "But seriously, you're our first choice, Adrien."

"Aren't there, um, I mean, couldn't you go to a sperm bank and take out a deposit?" he asked.

"We could," Juleka said, glancing at her wife. "We discussed that, too, but Rosie wants..."

"It's just too impersonal, getting it from a stranger," Rose cut in. "No, i want our child to be made out of love. All types of love: eros and pragma," she said as she smiled at her wife, "and philia and agape," Rose continued as she squeezed Adrien's hand.

"So..." Juleka hummed, "what do ya think?"

"You don't have to answer now," Rose assured him. "You can think about it." She gnawed her bottom lip with worry.

Adrien thought about how much he wanted to be a dad. He thought about what great mothers Juleka and Rose would be to their child and how much fun it would be to raise her with them. He thought about how this might be his only chance considering how awful his prospects for finding someone who'd want to be with the son of Hawkmoth. He thought how this might salvage his relationship with Kagami because now they could both have what they wanted without giving up anything.

"I'll do it!" Adrien cried happily. "I'll be your baby daddy!"

Part 2 to follow. Adrien tells Marinette, Alya, and Nino about becoming a father. Chat Noir informs Ladybug of the same. They are less than pleased.

Miraculous Ladybug Head Canon: Tikki's power of creation may actually be more dangerous than Plagg's power of destruction.

I was just thinking how Tikki's miraculous is a pair of earrings. One could assume that perhaps the power of creation was too great to be contained within 1 jewel and as such 2 earrings are needed. Also to further protect the power, you need both earrings to use it. If you lose 1 then it won't work. How many of us have lost 1 earring never to wear the set again? Was the design of the earrings done purposefully to protect its power and prevent it from being used easily? I think in Dark Owl or Troublemaker (?) when one earring is removed Ladybug begins to transform back and loses her powers. She has to have both earrings to be LB, but it only takes the removal of 1 earring to neutralize her powers. Plagg's ring is singular and does not seem to have a similar design feature to make it harder to use.

I know Plagg's power is said to be awesome, killing the dinosaurs, wiping out Atlantis, etc. Yet, you can only destroy what has already been created and as such that distructive power is limited. Whereas the power of creation would only be limited by one's imagination. So in essence there would be less limitations of the power of creation.

We moralize destruction as being bad, perhaps because we associate it with death. Yet, we often need things to die or be destroyed in order to create new life. If the dinosaurs had not died would we have seen the rise and dominance of mammals? This is probably why in the yin/yang symbols we see a little bit of creation amongst the destruction.

By the same token, we moralize creation as being something good, perhaps because we associate it with birth. Who doesn't love babies or puppies? Yet how many awful things have we as a species created? Nuclear, chemical, biological weapons; the movie "Cats"; all music created after 1977, etc. (Im kidding on the last one. Please dont @ me.) Creation can bring on destruction too, much as a weed or vine chokes out other plants or bug larvae implanted in a host kills or eats the host when they hatch. We see in the yin/yang symbol a little bit of destruction within creation.

Creation isn't inherently good. Destruction isn't inherently bad. It is how those powers are used that determines their ethicacy.

Think about how much time and energy is needed to destroy something compared to how much time and energy it takes to create something. It may take several hours to write a story but only a second or two to delete it. Ever watch the implosion of a building? Gone in a minute, but how many months did it take to build with the use of how much man and machine power?

Because creation is slow and often painful, I wonder if people miss how poweful it can be, too dazzled and awestruck by it's opposite force, destruction. But, if they really are opposite, if they really must be in balance, then by definition creation must be at least just as powerful as destruction.

So in summary, Plagg is a misunderstood bean that needs love and attention. Please stop blaming him for every little thing that gets broken. Tikki may be the "good" kwami, but we don't know her complete history. She could be hiding skeletons in her closet. I'm just saying, if Chat Noir is Ladybug's equal partner, then Plagg is, too, to Tikki.

An Idea for a Fic I'll Never Get Around to Writing:

Title: Fifty First Dates

Adrien finally decides to let go of his fantasy to be with Ladybug and decides to do something about the growing feelings he has for another girl, but he's uncertain how his confession will be received. Knowing how painful and embarrassing a face to face rejection can be, he decides to write her a note. Said note is confiscated during class before he can give it to her; Mme. Mendeleiev reads the note outloud: "I like you! Do you like me? Check yes or no."

Class erupts in laughter. Adrien is thoroughly embarrassed. Within a few hours all anyone can talk about at school is who Adrien's mystery crush might be. Speculation flies throughout the school as every single girl and quite a few guys hope that it's them. Alya is hellbent on figuring it out.

Marinette suggests the note was probably for Kagami, but Alya argues he was writing the note in class because he wanted to give it to someone present. Kagami's not in their class, besides they've been out on a date already.

He knows she likes him.

The single girls in their class are Chloe, Lila, Sabrina, Alix, and Marinette. Alya dismisses Chloe and Lila as the recipient because they obviously like Adrien and haven't been shy about letting him know "unlike some people" (sideways disapproving look at Marinette, who blushes), so a note to either of them to gauge their feelings would be unnecessary.

Alya thinks the note is for Marinette, who's at first near faint at the idea, but then self doubt prevents her from believing it. She says its obvious to everyone how she feels about Adrien, so there's no need to write a note to her. Adrien could just ask her out. Alya counters that when Adrien asked her point blank if she liked him after finding out her room is covered in pictures of him, she denied it, saying she only had them because she's an aspiring fashion designer. "Not one of my best monents," Marinette concedes. "Exactly," Alya agrees, "Adrien doesn't think you like him. Or at least that you didnt then, but its been several months since then, maybe he wants to find out if anything has changed." Marinette is still unsure.

Alya drags Marinette to Nino to get some answers. Nino's not giving any info up and chastises his gf for being so nosy instead of being supportive. "My bro's hurting, Dude. His confession got ruined. Have some compassion!"

Marinette knows all about ruined confessions and without thinking strides over to Adrien, who's sitting by himself. She tells him that she's sorry about what happened with the note, asking if he's okay. He nods, saying he appreciates her kindness as the guys have been mercilessly teasing him and the girls are even more pushy and flirty than ever. Worst off all he's embarrassed himself in front of his crush and is afraid he's ruined his chances. Marinette says she wishes there was something she could do.

Adrien brightens and says there is a way she can help. "Go out with me...on a date."

Marinette, of course, gets flustered and says the wrong thing. "I go? W-with you?" He nods. "I can't go with you. I mean, you cant go with me, you want to go with your crush, right? Im not your crush. Am i your crush?" she asks hopefully.

But Adrien's self doubt has set in and he stopped listening after she said I cant go with you. Panicking, he's realized he's getting rejected again! It's going to affect is friendship with Marinette, just like it did with Ladybug. He has to say something to prevent that!

"I didnt mean a real date," he lies. "I meant a pretend date."

"Pretend date?"

"Yeah, you know, um...like a practise date." Thinking on the fly, he elaborates. "See, i don't know if my crush likes me, so i was thinking maybe if I tell her where we'd be going on our first date then maybe she'd be more likely to accept. But, we could try it out first to make sure, you know, it would be special enough. What d'ya think?"

"I guess?" Marinette shrugs, not really sure what he's talking about. "Where are you thinking of going?"

"I dunno. You got any ideas?"

So over the course of the next day or so they come up with a list of ideas: lunch at a nearby restaurant, coffee at the local coffee shop, see a movie, go to a museum, etc. They pick one option and go together on the pretend date. Both agree it's not the right date option. Marinette doesn't want Adrien to go on a date with anyone else, so she tells him it's not good enough. Adrien doesn't want to go on a date with anyone else and agrees it's not good enough. They try out option #2. Also, no good. Rinse repeat, rinse repeat. Date after date, both having an excellent time, growing closer and secretly more in love with each other, only to conclude at the end of each date that it's still not good enough and they need to go out on another date.

Alya and Nino are watching this play out and cannot believe how dumb their friends are. Each trying to convince their bestie that they are dating their crush. Just admit it! Finally, after much prodding Alya convinces Marinette and Nino convinces Adrien that they have to come clean about their feelings.

So, here we are first date #50. They are having a picnic in the park, eating food from Tom & Sabine's bakery. It's a lovely day, not a cloud in sky, and everyone seems so happy. No akumas! They're laying on the picnic blanket, watching the clouds roll by, chatting and joking. Adrien absent mindedly sighs that "this is perfect" and Marinette agrees. Suddenly, sitting straight up they both realize what they've admitted. This is the date. The. Perfect. First. Date. It's over, their little ruse is over. It's now or never.

"Marinette, I'd like to thank you for helping me."

"Of course! I had a lot of fun!"

"Yeah, me, too." Adrien rubs the back of his neck with his hand. "Im almost sorry to see it end."

"Yeah, me, too."

"Really?"

Marinette nods and they both blush. Adrien reaches into his pocket and Marinette opens her purse. They each take out a folded scrap of paper. Silently they give themselves a pep talk before thrusting the paper in front of the other's nose. "This is for you!" they cry in unison.

They take the paper, open it, and read the exact same message:

"I like you! Do you like me? Check yes or no."

Then they reread it cuz they just cant believe it. Looking up at each other they laugh and nod, too stupidly happy to speak. They both have these dumb smiles on their faces. And then they kiss!

After Multimouse Chat Noir is practically beside himself over having discovered her identity because it's his fault that Marinette can never again weild the mouse miraculous. He goes to Ladybug to try to change her mind and give Marinette another chance because she did such an amazing job, she deserves it. But, LB is adamant that it's too dangerous and CN begrudingly agrees.

Fastforward to post season 3 finale. Again, CN pitches LB to allow Marinette to use the mouse miraculous. LB let Kagami and Chloe use their miraculous even after Hawkmoth discovered their identities, so why not Marinette when the only other person who knows her identity is himself? LB once again reminds CN of the rules to which CN counters that those were Fu's rules. LB is the guardian now, she can change the rules. LB remains unmoved in her decision.

Few days later CN revists the idea of making Marinette part of the team. Give her a different miraculous instead of the mouse. Then he wont know. Again, LB won't consider it. CN continues to annoy her with suggestions of how Marinette might help them and how valuable she would be as a team member.

This goes on for a while before LB finally blows up at him, telling him that even if she could, Marinette won't do it. CN is confused. That doesn't sound like Marinette. She's always the first to help anyone. LB explains that she talked to Marinette about wielding a different miraculous, but M turned her down citing that her life is to tumultuous right now. CN presses for more info, leading LB into a rant as to how hard her life is right now. She's behind in all of her class work, failing science; as class rep she has to come up with fund raiser ideas so they can have a nice class trip; she has two girls bullying her, one of whom almost got her expelled and has all her friends fooled, even her best friend; her parents just asked her to pick up a shift at the bakery while they search for a new employee; the one thing she loves most doing, fashion design, feels more like work now that she started her own accessory business on line while juggling designing tshirts and masks for her friends' band and Jagged Stone's new concert poster; and to top it all off her crush not only doesn't like her that way, but is in love with someone else who he is happily dating and she is also friends with! "And you want to add saving the world?" LB demands of CN. "Leave Marinette Dupain-Cheng alone! She has enough on her plate!"

LB zips off and leaves CN gob smacked. He had no idea Marinette had it so hard. The whole reason he wanted her on the team was to help alleviate LB's responsibilities now that she has become guardian. He could see the toll it was taking on her thanks in some small part to being Mr. Bug for a day. But how had he missed Marinette's struggles? He resolved then and there to help both his friends, prioritizing Marinette with the hope that when her life settles down she'd be willing to help out LB.

Hilarity ensues as Adrien tries to help Marinette and suceeds in only making things worse.

8 year old son: Can you make me a sandwhich?

Me: You don't like sandwiches.

Interfering husband/father: Let him try.

Me: Fine. *sighs* What do you want on your sandwich?

Son: Hot dogs, cheese, ketchup

Me: *goes to kitchen. Heats up hot dogs, slices them lengthwise. Lays them on slice of bread, adds cheese and ketchup. Covers with 2nd slice of bread. Cuts into 4 triangles. Presents sandwich to son.*

Son: NO! That's not what I wanted! No bread! You know I don't like bread!

Me: You said you wanted a sandwich! You can't have a sandwich without bread!

Son: *removing offending bread* I said i wanted "like a sandwhich", not "a sandwhich"! *rolls eyes*

Me: You said "sandwich". I dont even know what "like a sandwich" means

Son: I. Don't. LIke. Sandwhiches!

Me: I know!

Husband/Father: *watches son eat* That's great! He likes sandwiches now!
