if you’re white and wanna write a poc character and feel awkward about it i implore you to ignore any twitblr stuff treating it as a massive ethical burden and instead come in more with the same mindset you’d have if you wanted to write about idk firefighters but didn’t know anything about firefighters so you do... research. Like fuck off with the weird kinda creepy calls for spiritual introspection you’re not writing about god damn space aliens you’re writing about humans and if you think you need more perspective of different life experiences just read?
Yknow when you see a post and you're like "oh I have to reblog this for The Mutual" and then you scroll up and you see that the one who reblogged it is The Mutual
They really did; the way their character arcs will never not disappoint me.
You know one of the things that gets me about the problems I have with tdp s3 is how easy it is to fix them.
Viren being Pure Evil ™? They could have shown him as a decent if not good king and/or an imperfect but still caring father
Aaravos being creepily invasive toward Viren? They could have established that his invasiveness stems from trauma at being in what’s essentially solitary confinement for 300 years and his desperation to keep the first person who’s interacted with him in that time as close as possible.
How Kasef was portrayed? They could have given us some scenes that sympathized with him; they could have kept him alive
They could have shown Ezran question attacking the transformed soldiers
They could have had Soren come clean about his attempt on Ezran’s life in s2 and have to deal with the consequences
They could have had Zubeia interact with the characters
They could have had Amaya and Janai be at odds with each other but slowly learn to trust each other
I could continue, but we’d be here all night.
Like? If they had done a few of these things, or even just one, the season would have been more enjoyable for me! But they didn’t and that sucks because it would have been So. Damn. Easy.
