Let's go: Asta X Noelle: What can I say, I love me some good Main Girl x Protagonist, and the fact that Asta encourages Noelle so much that she has gotten stronger because of how supportive he was and that he was the first person to not berate her in any way and even said that her magic was amazing.

Yami X Charlotte: The best Hetero ship of all time in anime as it 1. Doesn't make the female's only trait that she is in love with someone, rather a part of her character. 2. Make the guy respect her and even treats her differently that is noticable, but cute. 3. He basically saved her from despair at her lowest and even changed her life style, a bit.

Fana X Mars: Always love me some childhood friends to lovers trope, and this is a great one, as it is one of the cutest ships of all time and the way he just wanted to save her while she was in agony was chef's kiss

Finral X Vanessa: A guy that always flirts with girls and a girl that is extremely flirty with people that both have issues about their strength and that fact that by the end of one arc, they both became more confindent as they were extremely useful to our Protag and seem to be closer than the others? SIGN ME UP! Not to mention this works both platonically and romantically.

Lolopechka X Gaja: That man risked his entire life to save the woman he loves, and the best part? HE CONFESSED TO HER! That's right, a Shonen made a character confess to the other.

Fanzell X Domina: I just love this because of how confident this man was to find his fiance, and to seem that both of them are happy with each other is always great to see.

Magna x Midori: This is an OC x Canon one as she will be in my Star Magic: Yuno fic, but in short: It is basically a Nerd dating a Jock (A nice and friendly jock)

Nacht X Ichika: In short for no spoilers, they both hate Yami, their Magic is similiar and they would get along as they have a lot of things in common.

Mereoleona X Yosuga: Again, for no spoilers, basically a tough guy in love with a woman that could kick his ass.

Yuno X Charmy: Now, I actually don't mind some Yuno ships as long as it isn't Asta, like with Mimosa, but I love this ship as I find the most adorable and the most interesting, as she never seems to be annoying to Yuno and he always accepts her food without a question as I always think that is adorable, not to mention her crush on him is really cute.

Unlike her brother, Yami Sukehiro, Ichika is absolutely terrible in art/drawing. It's something they could laugh about once they've reconciled. 🥺🤧

Yami making fun of Ichika for donning a frightening mask despite being a shrimp. Probably something along the lines of "hey, what's the mask for?" 😭🤣

Being both strong independent women but still sweet enough on the inside, Ichika and Charlotte might really be close enough to consider each other as sisters. Ichika might help Yami realize his feelings or give him ideas for their (YamiChar) upcoming tea date.

One thing for sure, Yosuga teases her a damn lot and now she's immune to it as she couldn't go against someone of superior status. Plus, she has heard enough of Yosuga's nonstop blabbering about the flame woman of his dreams 😭🤣

Remember these pet beasts? They wouldn't go near Ichika and when she tries to feed them, they'll hide deeper in their cages 😭😭😭 But seriously though, what happened to them? Can't remember where they are rn. LMAOOO

When BB and Yami had enough of her incessant frowning + temper, they threatened to not return Ichika back to her country under the guise of 'not having enough mana' or something. She has to play nice now with Finral, Yami, and co, otherwise it's babye LOS. 😭🤣

Komari tried countless of times before to give Ichika's wardrobes a makeovers. Lots of which was denied by Ichika stating that her current hakama speak of great status blah blah. One day, Ichika found her hakama being customized to fit her size snuggly that she freaked out and demanded her wide puffy sleeves robe back. Komari never tried again.

Still feeling awkward, she only calls her brother "Sukehiro", "You", or "Yami" (as the Cloverians used to regard him.) But then she got into some trouble during her stay on CK and needs someone, a resident of CK, to back her up. Yami rushed to the place and Ichika looked guilty.

"a-ano... onii-chan?" She squeaked in a low-pitched voice.

"HuUUuuUuhH??"

On that day, Yami learned Ichika only calls him brother when she's in trouble 😭

This one's my favorite. Ichika actually has high alcohol tolerance but rarely drinks as her tummy gets bloated and the taste doesn't really suit her. Yami was shocked to see her drink booze with them on a party that whenever he drinks and Ichika's there, he prepares a damn lot. Take, for instance, this made up scene:

Ichika saw her brother silent sitting on the floor while admiring the moonless night. Beside him is a bottle used to hold liquors. She bet it has something to do with him meeting Charlotte's parents.

"...you good there?" She asked cautiously as if trying not to poach a sensitive topic.

"Yeah, I think so."

"Mind if I have some?"

"ehhhhh, that's alcohol!" Ichika raised a brow. "Tsk, help yourself." Yami relented and offered her the bottle.

Ichika grinned a little and took a sip to which she spit seconds later.

"Sukehiro, this IS JUICE!? WTFFFF"

Yami boisterous laughter echoed everywhere.

"Did you see me complaining? Huh, did you??" He grabbed her skull and took on an interrogating tone. "Who taught you to drink, you brat?! Too young!" Ain't no way he's gonna be a bad influence to her!

I still have a lot more but I forgot 😭😭 Lunch calls me 🤧🤧 I'm gonna need this in the near future just in case I forgot.

I've already talked a bit about Mimosas and Langris children here, so I won't go too much into details yet (that will be for the profiles).

Just so you know, Kirsch is actually an excellent uncle and to Mimosas surprise, well loved by her children. He also became an uncle for Finrals and Finesses children.

As for the Fire Vermillions, Esclarmonde and Yogan are the oldest of their generation.

Yogan is the only son of Mereoleona and Yosuga (their marriage/bond/whatever is rather special in many ways I'm still figuring it out^^'). He is actually as calm as his parents are wild.

Yosuga and Mereoleona can have their most fierce, devastating battle training and he can just sit unbothered in the middle of it with a book.

Just so you know, he is very powerful magic-wise, in fact he is double as powerful as his parents... Him being such a calm boy was a relief for EVERYONE. Yogan also gets along great with his uncle Fuegoleon.

Yogans birth is quite the story, because Mereoleona was fighting an herd of powerful Magic Beasts and some renegade noble bandits WHILE giving birth to her son. Come on, this is Mereo, of course she would give birth during a battle or something.

His parents are still very proud of him.

Esclarmonde is the calmest one of her siblings. She has a romantic soul and the story of her parents underlines this trait even more.

She also wants one day to become Wizard Queen, learns and trains hard for that. This includes also doing charities and learning no-magic first aid. Plans already to make this a basis for Magic Knights training and has talks with her father about it. She and Fuegoleon are really close, a true Father-Daughter trust.

Is determined to join the Crimson Lion Kings and also to become their captain one day.

Orion is wilder than his older sister, but still calm. Let's say that he is calm but with passion.

Doesn't talk much, but shows more. Not very stoic, though, as he smiles often.

Aliénor is much younger than her siblings, another kind of surprise child.

Personality-wise, she is like auntie Mereo.

Leopolds wife is another OC of mine (I'll made a profile one day for her). To sum up, Venus is a peasant, a member of the Green Praying Mantises and rather crazy (she can cut with her Foam Magic).

Their daughter Eleonora is as loud and wild as her parents. She has a soft spot for volcanos, much to auntie Mereos delight.

Their son Espumaleon is practically the shy baby. Was very sick when he was a baby, so his parents are protective about him and his big sister even more.

Unlike Eleonora, Espumaleon prefers calm and fluffy places, especially with pillows and blankets. Or a bubble bath. He also doesn't want to become a Magic Knight.

Yogan as straight and long dark red hair, which he usually wears in a low pony tail, his mother's blue eyes with the Vermillion red eyeliner and he has powerful Lava Magic (Don't make him angry, as he doesn't yell, remains calm but his lava quickly runs wild).

Esclarmonde, Orion and Aliénor have all their mother's nacreous eyes and their father's red Vermillion eyeliner. Esclarmonde has wavy waist-long hair, red has Fuegoleon's and also has inherited her father's Fire Magic. Orion has dark purple hair like his mother, but shoulder length and soft just like his father, he also got Litals Star Magic. Aliénor has a wide curly mane like her mother, the color is a redish purple (a mix of her parents hair colors) and got Seafire Magic, a powerful one at that. Noelle one day almost got a heart-attack when little Aliénor accidentally put her Sea Dragon's Roar on fire^^'

Eleonora has long and slightly curly red hair, her mother's jade green eyes, with typical Vermillion eyeliner and got her father's Fire Magic. Espumaleon has black hair like his mother, grass green eyes and red eyeliners from his father, with Venus' Foam Magic.

Olympia Soiree complete!

I finished Olympia Soiree and man, there were parts that had me ripping my hair out in frustration but overall? Very much enjoyed it. Beautiful visuals, music, art, the VA were fantastic. Some of the writing, uh, less so, but the weaving of mythology got my heart pattering.

But how did the boys stack up??

Let's break it down! Spodlers under the cut.

Starting from least to best:

Kuroba:

I really wanted to like Kuroba because look at him. Hot, great voice, he's a doctor... Like Impey he was too flirty and came on too strong at the start, but the thing that really soured me on him as an LI was when he told Nagusa he could have Olympia. I get there was ~drama~ but an LI just tossing MC away is an instant turn-off. He's a great character and a wonderful friend and wingman in the other routes, but as an LI he fell flat.

Yosuga:

He has supplanted Toma as king of my Hot Mess tier. There was way too much to unpack with this guy. He started off super amazing, but the Tennyo Island scenario really flipped the script. I don't hate when an LI points a weapon at MC (Orlok my beloved <3) but it was the messy writing and the SA that firmly put him in this tier. His charisma keeps him there and not into friend tier, really, and the fact purple is my favorite color. Like Kuroba, he's an excellent character and wingman on other routes, he just wasn't able to shine on his own.

Riku:

The flip I did on this boy! I went in hating him and just wanting his route to be over, and by the end he was precious puppy I love him, which seems to be the general consensus. His redemption was so wonderfully done, though, and his personal character growth was probably the best out of the entire cast. Very good man, sweet and loving, I very much like him.

Akaza:

I thought I would be meh about him honestly. Like Olympia I didn't have the best first impression. He definitely warmed on me though, but he did enough stuff in his route to make me side-eye that he can't be above yes please tier. Depending on my mood he might fall below Riku, but those CGs were hnnngh and definitely are supporting his position.

Himuka:

This beautiful man. His route was my favorite, but he places second in my list. Like San-chan he wrecked my heart, and his entire inhuman-ness was a huge selling point. I am a sucker for these ageless deity types with all their tragedy and differing morals. He's a wonderful, beautiful man and the lore and mythology he brought to the table only sweetened the deal.

Tokisada:

SS, he's come the closet to Perfect Prince tier, along with Ryuki, in just the sheer bursting love I felt for him. His route had probably the weakest ending, and even I can admit it wasn't the best overall, but as an LI? He reigns supreme. His love scene was the best. Everything about him as a character is great. I love how soft and sweet he is, how vulnerable and honest he was with Olympia, and his growth was second to Riku only. He just makes me happy.

1. What are your hobbies and special skills?

Before it was creating specimen books, but these days it’s mainly origami. They seem to make Byakuya and the children of Yomi happy, so I think it’s a good skill if I do say so myself.

2.What are your strong points and weak points?

I’m aware that the part of me that always distrusts everything is not good.

As for my strong point…..I think that I’m unexpectedly good at persevering? If I wasn’t, I wouldn’t be able to continue the kind of research I do.

3. What is a common habit of yours?

Fiddling with my necktie.

4. What is something you do everyday?

Tease Byakuya? Haha, she’ll be mad at me. Although I do think it’d be nice if I was able to see her everyday.

5. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

That’s something even I don’t know.

6. What is the first thing you do when you wake up, and the last thing you do before you go to sleep?

The first thing I do when I get up is drink a cup of tea to wake up. Before I sleep I spray some sleep medicine.

7. What is your secret (within the boundaries of what you can share)?

I’m the son of the previous leader of the Yellow.

8. Is there someone who you think of as a rival?

It was Akaza previously, but these days I’d also include Lord Douma. Although I’m well aware surpassing him will be difficult.

Yosuga and I got to talking about how we wanted to see the sea, so we put blue dye into Yomi’s waterway and got beaten up by Granny.

10. How strong is your alcohol tolerance? (Do you drink alcohol?)

I like drinking, but when I get drunk I fall asleep.

11. What is something you are really into right now?

Researching new types of origami.

12. What is something about your body that you have confidence in?

Laidback.

On dates of course.

As expected, Lord Jigen, Lord Douma and Lady Shura really are amazing. Tsukuyomi is also someone I respect…..well, maybe not quite, but I’m grateful to him. And in the end, Lord Sakyo as well. A lot of things happened with him, but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s the mentor who guided me.

19. What is something you don’t like?

Flattery.

20. If you could bring just one thing to Tennyo Island, what would it be?

A knife.

Rather than any sweet words of mine, it’d have to be origami, right?

That’s something that happens a lot, but I always have trouble making up my mind. I want to play a trick on her, but I also feel as if I want to keep gazing at her cute sleeping face forever. I end up doing something mischievous at a ratio of about 7:3 though.

28. When your work or study isn’t going well and you’re feeling down, how would you like her to comfort you?

I want her to comfort me, but I don’t want to complain, that’s the kind of being men are.

I have a feeling I often hold onto her from behind.

I kiss her whenever I think that I want to.

Along with Yosuga, I was spoken highly of as one of the worst brats in Yomi.

Only as many as she wishes to have. Of course, when thinking of our position in society, I would like to increase the population of the ‘White’, but I do think she would make a great mother. Hmm, perhaps I’ll do some research on safe childbirth methods.

41. When your children are born, what kind of things would you like to teach them? And what kind of children would you like to raise them to be?

Being healthy is the most important thing! After that, I’d like to allow them to do what they want to do.

42. If she were to tell you that ‘I will grant you one wish’, what would you ask for?

I wonder if I could ask her to wash my hair.

The Dragon and Tiger

Something I unfortunately only just now pieced together in my brain. While recounting their youth, we see a young Ryu and Yosuga, both being represented by a beast. A dragon for Ryu, and Tiger for Yosuga.

In the next view panels we learn that Yosuga has Iron Yojutsu. Which is extremely interesting if you've ever heard of the Chinese concept of the Four Cardinal Beasts. Many people have probably heard of them in one form or another, they're very common in most media; The Vermillion Bird, Azure Dragon, Black Tortoise, and White Tiger. They represent the seasons and the cardinal directions. They also correspond with the Elements that are fundamental in Taoism; Fire (Vermillion Bird), water (Black Tortoise), Wood (Dragon), and the main reason for this post Metal (The White Tiger).

How fitting for the Lord of Koshu, who is represented by a (possibly) White Tiger to bear a Metal based Yojutsu! Although, it's very possible that it's just a coincidence. Assuming we follow the same logic, Ryu should have had Wood Yojutsu (associated with the Azure Dragon) before he sacrificed his power. However, his sword is very clearly wrapped in flames of some kind.

interestingly enough, while the four cardinal beasts are the most famous and well-known interpretation, anyone who knows about the elemental system in Taoism would have picked up on something by now, there are actually supposed to be a Five Beasts. The group is also known as the Five Auspicious Beast, which includes the Golden Dragon who is associated with the center of the cardinal directions, midsummer and the element of Earth.

1. What are your hobbies and special skills?

My hobbies are collecting things I find, and polishing the bones I pick up. As for skills, I’ve realized recently I’m quite good at making ornaments.

2.What are your strong points and weak points?

There’s no way someone like me has any strong points……Wait no, I’ve stopped saying such things now. My strong point is…… I don’t often get angry? I have far too many shortcomings, but little by little, I would like to quit thinking so negatively about everything.

3. What is a common habit of yours?

Until recently it was patting this skull of mine, but these days I often gaze at my rainbow stone bracelet and trace it instead.

4. What is something you do everyday?

Bake bread, maybe?

5. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

I sleep when I feel tired, and wake up when I feel the presence of the sun.

6. What is the first thing you do when you wake up, and the last thing you do before you go to sleep?

When I wake up, first of all I greet the sun. 

Before I sleep, I pray that the sun will rise again tomorrow just as always.

7. What is your secret (within the boundaries of what you can share)?

The truth is, when I was Hiruko, and also when I was in the body that Tsukuyomi made for me, I had no reproductive organs. Of course I did know that they were part of a normal body, so when I became a human it was a shock for me.

8. Is there someone who you think of as a rival?

Akaza.

Well, basically I was driven away from a lot of places so……

According to Yosuga, mine is the ‘strongest.’

Sometimes, in regions that worshiped Hiruko, they would leave offerings of alcohol and food on the sea coast. Perhaps my tolerance for alcohol became stronger as I took in those offerings.

Building up muscle!

Unsightly.

I don’t think it’s expensive, but I recently bought a rather large pot. So that we can make enough food for the two of us and one other.

I think the job of an undertaker is an important one, but it seems like they have a lot of fun at Shikinjou, so I would like to try helping out there.

I’m torn between a blanket or a pot.

I would distract myself by talking to my skeletons.

Since she is a descendant of Amaterasu, would it even be possible for her to get sick? But I would like to try looking after her, making rice porridge, peeling fruit for her and such.

In the past, I would hide, but now I go out and greet her properly.

35. When you and your lover have a fight, what do you do to make up with her?

I would never want to fight with her.

36. What would you do if snow started to fall during one of your dates?

Sometimes, sometimes it does fall doesn’t it? Even on this sea.

Long ago when I was still adrift, I ended up washing up on the coast of a country of heavy snow. The mountains were pure white, and the sea was the colour of ash. It was frightening, yet beautiful. 

But this place is quite warm, so I do not think it would snow as much.

I would love to try making a big snowman with her though……

37. When you are with her, what kind of moments do you feel the happiest?

When we sit in front of the fireplace together eating warm food.

38. What is a habit of hers that you like?

When she dances……although I guess that’s not really a habit. But I love how she looks as she dances.

If I were to say one other thing, it would be how her face overflows with curiosity as we search the beach, looking to see if anything has washed up.

39. What were you like as a child?

A shunned existence.

40. How many children would you like? Please tell us if you would like a boy or a girl, and how many.

Izanagi and Izanami had countless children, so I would also like her to do her best-......Ah no, she has a human body, doesn’t she.

I think it would be fun to have a boy and a girl, so I would like two children if possible.

41. When your children are born, what kind of things would you like to teach them? And what kind of children would you like to raise them to be?

I would like to teach them all the wisdom I have acquired.

But I would never push them into anything, I would want to raise them to be bright, strong and formidable, just like her.

……I would like to use her lap as a pillow.

And then she ended up falling asleep once more.

Although I have lost most of my power as a god, in my own way I will continue to treasure this world.

Thank you for teaching her the strength of humans.

Though I am still immature and foolish after having become human, I will do my utmost to make her happy.

I am sure Akaza and the others will work hard, so I will just relax and watch over them.

Olympia Soiree Review 🤍

Spoiler alert for the review: this is my favorite otome I have ever played. I had been looking forward to the release ever since it was announced and my poor friends had to deal with me making speculations and predictions about the game for months on top of all my kpop and other interests facts and news. Before we start, please note that this game goes over a lot of heavy topics. Trigger warnings for racism, SA, abuse, death, bigotry in general, and some Christianity talks for this game.

Spoilers Ahead

Olympia Soiree is centered around Byakuya, an orphan from an island where all her family and friends have died from an incident years ago. In this world, people are separated by what color they present with into different groups. So yeah welcome to learning about racism and classism. Byakuya, as the last one of the white group, must marry somebody now that she is 18. She has the privilege of choosing whoever she wants on Tenguu Island, whereas most people are limited to those within their class caste. For instance somebody from the red group could marry somebody from the blue group, but they couldn’t marry somebody that’s in a brown or gray group. Byakuya hates the fact that there’s just so much blatant discrimination and wants to focus on making changes while having the pressure of finding a husband in a year. Now, as much as I love this game I do want to point out the common route is extremely long. There is also a recommended route order, and I highly recommend playing in the order I played if you don’t want to have story spoilers or play a less lore focused route later on.

Riku 💙

Riku here is our introductory route! Riku is next in line for the leader of the Blue group and is currently a soldier patrolling Yomi. Yomi is where the “undesired” colors are contained. Riku is a huge stickler for the rules, meaning he does not get along with Byakuya. Riku goes through a lot of character growth throughout his route and I can understand a little bit why he was the way he was at the beginning. His route barely touches on the world of Tenguu Island and the problems they face, unlike the other routes. His route endings were great, I loved them all. I also like how Byakuya isn’t passive in their relationship; she feels less like a blank slate stand-in for the player and more of her own character. I’m honestly going to rate this as 9.5/10.

Amakusa Shirou Tokisada 💚

Time for the baby of the group. I’ll be honest, this route made me the most uncomfortable for a couple of reasons. I’m not the biggest fan of pulling real life people and making them dating sim characters, and Tokisada is an example of this. Tokisada’s route introduces us to the concept of outsiders. Tokisada specifically has been naturalized into the Green and is set to be their next leader. Because of who Tokisada is based off of, the real life Amakusa Shiro Tokisada, he does have Christianity brought up in his route. I do want to make note of this for those it can effect because it is brought up a significant amount of times and pretty in-depth from what I remember. I also am uncomfortable by the fact in-game, this character is 17. When I played his route and most the game, I was the same age as Byakuya so it didn’t bother me as much, but now that I’m older it does bother me a bit more than it did. The endings were pretty good too, but I definitely had to rely on a guide for all of them! The writing in this route was really good too. 8.5/10.

Yosuga 💜

Welcome to the start of the deep dive into Olympia Soiree’s world! Yosuga is this owner os Shikinjou, a bathhouse in Yomi. Unlike the other two routes so far, Yosuga is more of a dependable character. Yosuga’s route is where the game gets even darker and has a lot of angst. This is where the game really starts expanding on the lore we have been given and diving deeper into some of the mysterious of this world. I remember starting to truly fall in love with the writing of this game during this route. Yosuga also has some brutal endings, as well as a great good ending. 9/10.

Kuroba 🖤

Ok this one is really rough but is a great route. I’ll be honest, even though I was excited for this route I was also incredibly nervous because i wasn’t too sure how well the game could properly tackle racism. Thankfully my concerns were disproven as I played. The writers not only talked about racism in a fairly respectful way from what I remember, they also dive into talking about sexism too. They also weren’t brushed off as a “ok that happened but let’s pretend it didn’t,” rather they were treated with the proper response of yeah that’s not ok and traumatizing. Kuroba’s route focuses more on the fictional disease of Haku as well, so it’s definitely one of the heavier routes. If anything, the only thing I’d really complain about is how wild his bad endings were? This route also took me a bit longer because of tough topics mentioned previously. I still really enjoyed it though, 8.5/10.

Himuka 🩶

Welcome to oh my god the lore. This route is only unlocked until you finish the first four routes. Now, admittedly it has been a while since I looked to see people’s opinions on this game, but I remember when it first came out and for a while Himuka was not very well liked. I’m not sure about that now though. Himuka is the current undertaker of Tenguu Island, and his route is locked until you complete the first four above. Himuka’s route goes more in detail about Byakuya’s home, the people of her color group, and the religion the people of the island participate in. There’s huge lore reveals here in this route, so I’m kind of glad it’s locked until you get through those first four routes. I genuinely loved this route and it’s honestly my most enjoyed route in an otome game as of writing. 10/10.

Akaza ❤️

The final route…we made it everybody. So Akaza’s route was another I was worried for. I haven’t had the best track record with enjoying final routes at this point, and after my most anticipated route I was so worried his route would fall flat for me. Yet again, I have been proven wrong by this game. Akaza’s route is locked until you play through Himuka’s route, and for good reason. This is where we finally finish solving the last unanswered questions of Olympia Soiree. I’m a little disappointed by the lack of Akaza really being present for his route, but he is such a great character with an otherwise amazing route that I’ll let it slide. 9.5/10.

Overall Thoughts 🤍

The amount of love I have for this game cannot be put into words. I might be really biased in my rankings, but based off my enjoyment of this game I truly believe these rankings are deserved. Somethings I really appreciated while playing this game was the music and the art. I normally enjoy the art of the Otomate titles I play, but this art was stunning. I also enjoyed the touch of having a sprite for Byakuya, I wish more otome did this. At first I was wary about it, but I loved it while playing. The only major gripe I have that I haven’t stated yet is the ungodly amount of flashbacks to the same 3 or so scenes. I probably have the voice lines memorized for life now. I highly recommend following the Riku -> Tokisada -> Yosuga -> Kuroba -> Himuka -> Akaza route order for optimal experience. 9.5/10.

Now for rankings, this is another hard game to rank for me since I truly enjoyed it all.

Route: Himuka > Akaza > Riku > Yosuga > Kuroba > Tokisada

LI: Himuka > Yosuga > Riku > Akaza > Kuroba > Tokisada
