BIOGRAPHY

Artemisia Thesaly Wilkes was born on an extraordinarily hot Summers night, just a few hours before the sun rose. Her mother Annalissa had been on bedrest for nearly two months, made worse by the fact that Artemisia had refused to leave the comfort of her mothers body on her due date, or in the two weeks after. They had an appointment to induce labor later that day, and that had been enough motivation for Artemisia apparently because at 4:23am she came screaming into the world. Annalissa had decided that was enough, and insisted her husband get a vasectomy, unwilling to go through another pregnancy after her last had left her bedbound.

Artemisia grew up with all the wealth and prestige the Wilkes family could offer, and the realities of their life was never something that was hidden from her. She has vague memories of when, around the age of three, Theodora became the head of the family and her great grandfather died. She remembered a rather serious, and large family gathering. Putting on her best clothing to go see the woman who would head up the family. She was young, but she knew that this was something different, something new.

After that her path within the family slowly was laid out in front of her. She stayed home with her family, raised by an impressive array of governesses and au pairs until she was seven, when she was sent to boarding school, like her siblings before her. At school she excelled, acing all her classes and participating in any physical activities that were offered. Outside of school she studied Ballet, Gymnastics, and a wide range of martial arts. If her schoolmates found her extreme dedication to fitness, weapon skills and diverse fighting styles odd or off putting they didn’t mention it. It wasn’t that Artemisia was mean, but if asked personal questions, or about her extracurriculars she would stare the person down until they left.

Artemisia returned to America on most of her school breaks, to observe the family business, a constant reminder on why she was studying and training so hard. Her parents were determined to insure that she would be of use to the family. Once she was old enough she got brought in and began to see the inner workings of the business, and was adept at assessing risks and problems and finding solutions. Her father was rather high in the ranks, and once he realized her talents would ensure that she was more than just a soldier he began to keep her by his side and let her steer when the stakes were not too high. Like the rest of the Wilkes family Artemisia rarely saw Theodora, but when she did she could not help but admire the woman’s cool and hardened persona. She never showed weakness, or fear, and was a formidable force to be reckoned with. In Theodora Artemisia saw a change in the family’s fortune and strove to be worthy of her appraisal, and approval.

Artemisia attended university, studying business, management, law and psychology. She knew that the modern criminal had to be smart as well as strong, and could not only focus on her physical abilities if she wanted to be a true asset to the family. And once she graduated and returned home that proved to be useful. She shadowed her father for a year, and then was given a regime of her own focusing on cleaning the families money, managing their diamond trade and loans.

Artemisia has been in Crystal City for about 6 years now working diligently within the Wilkes family. She’s hard and sarcastic, and tends to keep people at a distance unless she knows them well or they are a member of the family. However, she is quite adept at putting on a face for others benefits, and to blend in with civilians. Her ability to avoid questions has helped to maintain family secrecy, and despite being in a tight patch or two she has never broken that trust and loyalty. As a Capo she has blood on her hands, which goes along with the job, and this isn’t something she feels guilty for. By her reckoning, if you do business with the family, and cross them in such a way that has her sent out to clean up the problem then you are hardly innocent. She does have lines she will not cross, such as children or animals, and the few times they have come into her crosshairs she has found them other homes either far away from Crystal City, or where they will not be put into the same position again.

MODERN AU

Crimson Lane by @wayofthepathfinder // Rey is an ex-journalism student who was forced to leave university and into prostitution after her parent’s crippling debt falls on her shoulders and the people they owe money to begin targetting her. In desperation, she takes a job at Crimson Lane, a high-end brothel in the city. On her first night, she is booked with the mysterious Kylo Ren, who comes with his own set of rules: No kissing, no touching, no eye contact and no questions. What was supposed to be one night of uncomplicated paid sex, turns into so much more as they work through the dark truths that have bought them to this place. This is an angsty, enemies to lovers story based on two people who are inextricably entwined by a shared past. Despite the gritty brothel setting, this is definitely not a "porn without plot", in fact, it's probably the opposite. There's a lot of layers to the characters and a story that takes time to tell, as well as a dose of mystery, angst and drama. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have writing it.

In her Harry Potter AU, she becomes an Auror after graduating from Hogwarts.

PHYSICAL.

HAIR: Soft, curly and medium brown hair, almost black when wet, that when left down, passes just below her shoulders. In a Modern AU, she dyes her hair several times - black, blonde, blue, red and nebula colored.

EYES: Pointed, medium sized, deep amber color, but in certain lighting, her eyes are gold. In her ASOIAF/GOT Valyria verse, she has purple eyes.

NOSE: Medium large, normal width, slender.

FACE: Formerly round but more pointed as she ages.

LIPS: Thin, well-formed, very kissable, is often painted with dark shades of red lipstick in a Modern AU.

COMPLEXION: Caramel, clear.

BLEMISHES: None.

SCARS: A couple of dotted, very faint scars are littered on her neck, arms, sides and thighs. Random scars that Clementine has acquired through her years of relentless combat. If she went with Kenny in Season Two, she gets a scar on her left cheek and a scar above her right eye in the car accident. If she went to Wellington, she gets a bullet wound on her right cheek. A badly stitched scar on her left arm from the dog bite that she’s stitched herself on a stormy night in a shed back in Season Two remains. She has a scratch on the top of her left ear from the edge of a sharp knife and a small eyebrow scar over her left eye when a man threw a bottle of whiskey at her in a bar at Prescott all on the same night. She also has healed suicide cuts on her wrists when she’d attempted suicide at age twelve.

TATTOOS: In canon, Clementine has the official emblem affliated to The New Frontier branded on her right arm and on her right hand is a tattoo that states: "AJ" if she went with Jane to Howe's. In a Modern AU, if she's in a relationship with Louis, she has a tattoo on her right arm that says "You move me like music." with a bunch of musical notes all over it, and if she's in a relationship with Violet, she has a tattoo of violets littering all over her right arm. She also has a tattoo of a steaming hot bowl of soup on her upper right arm that says "Eat my ass like soup." - it was a dare from Mitch when they both got matching tattoos, AJ read it out loud when she was babysitting him one hot summer night and Clementine recorded it and she couldn't stop laughing for the longest time.

PIERCINGS: She has no piercings in canon. In her Modern AU, she’s pierced her ears several times - most of these being hoop earrings - and pierced her navel when she was sixteen without her guardian, Lee, knowing - she got grounded when he found out. She debates on getting her nipples pierced when she's eighteen. She has a tongue piercing, as well.

HEIGHT: 5′2.

WEIGHT: TBA, but she’s rather light..

BUILD: Slender but fairly well toned with little, if any, in the way of body fat and muscles lined throughout her arms, legs, and abs. She has slender limbs and strong calves that willingly allow her to enjoy that well-earned swiftness and agility. She becomes a lot more curvaceous and voluptous when she reaches adulthood. Speed type.

FEATURES: Broad shoulders. Slender, curvy waist and hips. Pretty big ass. Well-rounded. Fit.

ALLERGIES: None.

USUAL HAIR STYLE: Usually she wears a side bun, she used to wear pigtails when she was younger, though on occasions she usually wears it in braids or up in ponytails. It's uncommon, but not rare, to see her with her hair let loose. Her hair length when loose reaches down to her shoulders. In a Modern AU, she is a lot more varied in her hairstyles, choosing several traditional African hairstyles such as box braids and cornrows, but she also straightens her hair on occasions.

USUAL FACE LOOK: A calm, stoic expression. In her Modern AU, she looks a lot more relaxed and easygoing.

USUAL CLOTHING: Whatever is comfortable. Her attire for the most part remains the same. The trademark hat her father gave her when she was a girl, jeans, jackets, hoodies, khakis, hiking boots. They vary from different colors, preferably black, white, greys, reds, oranges, yellows, purples and blues. In the colder seasons, such as autumn and winter, she tends to lean more to clothing with furs on and inside them if she manages to acquire them. Some of the outfits she wears consists of her own homemade outfits of animal furs she had skinned herself. She desires to one day wear a brightly colored dress and run into the forest with abandon, with no one coming after her to take her life away. On the rare occasion, she is seen wearing a dark shade of crimson lipstick, and her fingernails and toenails are painted gold. Clementine wears an Omega necklace that Louis gives her, symbolizing the end of something. In a Modern AU, she’d be much more fashionable and a lot more feminine in her wardrobe choice. She’d wear skirts, dresses, cardigans, croptops, blouses, T-shirts, oversized sweaters, leather jackets, faux fur, silk, glitter, lace, velvet, florals. She'd wear sneakers, flats, knee high boots and high heels. In her Naruto verse, she wears kimonos, yukatas, hakamas, hanfu and ao dai, among other Eastern Asian themed clothing. In her ASOIAF/GOT verses, she wears a multitude of different fashion styles depending on the verse. In her Free Folk AU, she wears cloaks of warm furs from snowbears, shadowcats, wolves and seals to protect her from the freezing temperatures Beyond The Wall. In the majority of her verses, she wears the feather capes that the Summer Islanders are known for and her loose silken diaphanous gowns from Naath, her hair is adorned with a myriad of butterflies and flowers in her hair and dressed in brilliantly colored feathers of exotic birds, silks, seashells and gemstones - rubies, sapphires, emeralds and pearls, along with the gowns and Myrish lace that Westeros provides when serving Queen Margaery Tyrell.

PSYCHOLOGY.

FEARS: Rejection. Being hated. Forced isolation. Being misunderstood. Mental pain (especially its manifestation through nightmares and hallucinations). Inadequacy. Being forgotten. She was cynophobic (a phobia of dogs) but she overcomes this after befriending Rosie. She has aquaphobia to an extent, as she will avoid frosted over lakes at all costs and she fears the idea of drowning after watching Luke drown in 2x5. Losing her mind. Numbness. Losing everyone she’s ever loved. AJ becoming a ruthless killer.

NAME MEANINGS: “Clementine” is “Mercy” in Latin, “Maria” is the Latinized form of “Mary” which has several different meanings: “sea of bitterness”, “sea of sorrow”, “rebellion”, “wished-for-child” and “mistress or lady of the sea.”, “Jasmine” is a Persian word meaning “Gift from God” or “God’s Gift” and it is also named after the Jasmine flower, which holds significant cultural, symbolic and religious significance in countries like India, Hawaii, Indonesia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Syria, Thailand and the United States. Namor the Sub-Mariner Comic Rec List

Namor the Sub-Mariner has been around since the beginning of comics. A Golden Age Character, the first Anti- Hero in comics, and the first hero to ever fly was created by Bill Everett in 1939. The Sub-Mariner was the character that changed comics, this was a character who could not be easily defined as good or bad, a character who was more complex than any other at the time, and who had very real human emotions. A book I very much recommend reading is:

Fire and Water: Bill Everett, The Sub-Mariner, & the Birth of Marvel comics.

Without the Bill and the Sub-Mariner then I feel comics, in my opinion, would have been very different today and may even have not lasted as a way of storytelling. Yet where does one start? With almost 80 years of comic history this can be difficult, well here is a Namor the Sub- Mariner Recommendation List to help you dip your toes in the water. I have tried to stick to comics I felt were best to get to know the character so the list does jump around a bit and is not in complete chronological order.

1. Sub-Mariner Comics 70th Anniversary Special (2009)

This is a comic that I usually recommend as a good way to get into the Subby Fandom. It comes with three stories, including a remastered copy of the Original Very First Sub-Mariner Comic (1939) by Bill Everett. A must read!

2. Captain America and Namor (#635.1) (2012)

Captain America and Bucky (#622) (2011)

Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty (#2-4) (1998)

All Winners Comics Anniversary Special (2009)

One of the major things about Namor is his time with the Invaders: Captain America, the Original Human Torch, Toro, Bucky Barnes, and others. These comics explore some of those times and are a very high recommended read.

3. Namor the First Mutant (2010)

This comic series is really a good way to get to see the Namor in his own environment as a ruler of his people. Also is one of the more modern recent series that explores the character.

4. Marvels (1994); Tales of the Marvels: Inner Demons (1996); The Marvels Project (2009)

I’m going to be honest here and just say that every chance I get I try to chuck Marvels (1994) at people because it’s one of my favorite books. I love the art and while there is only a small focus on Namor as it details the history of Marvel as told by a reporter it is such a good book. Also Tales of the Marvels (1996) is told in the same way but through the eyes of a homeless drunk who had befriended Namor during the years that Namor had amnesia and lived on the streets of New York. The Marvels Project (2009) again this comic is told by another person during the golden age of heroes. The Angel narrates the rise of superheroes in this great comic.

5. Defenders (2001); Defenders (2005); Fear Itself: The Deep (2011); Defenders (2012)

These comics mainly revolve around the Defenders, and is the more recent times that the Defenders got together other than the first main series: The Defenders (1972)

6. Sub-Mariner (2007)

Namor tries to reveal who has been killing surface dwellers in the name of Atlantis while facing opposition on all sides.

7. Saga of the Sub-Mariner (1988)

You want a condensed history of Namor and everything that happened to him? This is what you should read, this comic series summarizes everything up until that point in the comics.

8. Marvel Mystery Comics (1939) and Sub-Mariner Comics (1941)

(numbers 8 – 15 will be in the order they were released)

This is the Golden Age Namor series and full of golden age comic stuff.

9. Fantastic Four (#4 and #6) (1961)

This is Namor’s reintroduction to comics after being shelved for years, and his first appearance in the Silver Age. Also the first time that Namor and Doctor Doom work together.

10. Uncanny X-Men (#6) (1963)

Magneto attempts to recruit Namor to join the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants!

11. Daredevil (#7) (1964)

Namor journeys to the surface world to hire Nelson and Murdock to sue the Human Race! The very first time that The Sub- Mariner meet and this is also the first cross over with two of Bill Everett’s creations, Bill Everett was the co-creator of Daredevil along with Stan Lee.

12. Tales to Astonish (Starting at #70)(1959)

Sharing a comic with the Hulk you get Namor returning from the surface world (Daredevil) to deal with the perils of being a Prince of Atlantis!

13. The Sub-Mariner (1968)

The Silver Age Sub-Mariner Comic, this is standard for every fan to read, and also for the first time in years after not having written Namor since the Golden Age, Bill Everett returns in the 50th issue.

14. Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner (1984)

Namor travels to the surface world to attempt to make peace with the UN.

15. Namor the Sub-Mariner (1990)

This is the 90’s Namor comic full of bugling muscles, tiny speedos, ponytails, and other things that made the 90’s well the 90’s. This comic is a hit and miss, not my preferred comic but should be included on the list. It starts out with a great story line, Namor tries to live in the surface world and run his company Oracle Inc. however I feel the story often changes and quality of the comic does decline over the series. This comic ends up leading into the marvel cross over event: Fantastic Four: Atlantis Rising (1995) (end of comics in order)

16. Invaders reading list:

Golden Age Invaders: All Winners Comics (1941)

Giant Size Invaders (1975)

These are the comics I think of when I talk about the invaders and it consists mainly of Captain America, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Bucky, Toro, Human Torch.

After Giant Sized Invaders we get the main series:

Invaders (1975)

Invaders (1993)

New Invaders (2004) the art is not that great but the Jim and Namor moments are worth it.

Avengers/Invaders (2008) has the younger Invaders sent to the future and its cool to see them interact with future heroes. I rec this if you want to get more with the newer comics.

Invaders Now (2010) comes right after that one and is pretty good as they have to face something from their past.

Then finally All New Invaders (2014) which is best if you want the most recent Invaders though you do have different members and bonus you get Old Man Steve too.

You also get some Invaders stuff whenever people have to go back to the past in their own comics like in Thunderbolts (1997) #163-165.

17. Sub-Mariner the Depths

I can’t not rec this comic, I love how creepy and scary they made Namor here and this story is told by a man who doesn’t believe in Atlantis. However be warned that there is very little Namor in this comic since he is more of a looming presence.

18. What if? Sub-Mariner

What if Prince Namor of Atlantis grew up on land? This is a AU comic and one that I would suggest reading if you can.

Namor has been a part of many teams including the All Winners, Invaders, the Defenders, Avengers, X-Men, the Cabal, and has been a part of the Phoenix Five. This is just a more Namor/Invaders based reading list and not one that dives into those teams very much. He also has many cameos in other comics and I still have not read everything with the Sub-Mariner in it and you do not have to read anything in order unless you wish to. I hope that this list helps anyone who wishes to read more about Namor the Sub-Mariner. This List will be updated in the future and added to as well.

How is our world protected from asteroids?

Asteroids, which are the subject of news headlines, have a place in everyone's minds. Scientists examine this issue more closely. Scientists are working to take precautionary action against a possible impact scenario.

In fact, when we think about it, we can say that asteroids are not at the top of the dangers we are facing now. Our own activities change the climate and habitat we live in. The antibiotics we use cause the birth of new types of deadly bacteria. Above all, we live on a planet with multiple nuclear weapons. Of course, asteroids are also a great danger. The impact of an asteroid on the earth can trigger tsunamis, shock waves and winds blowing at extremely high speeds. Therefore, there are scientists who spend their time preparing for such a scenario.

No asteroid that has been observed to date has the chance to cause massive destruction in our lives. Potentially dangerous asteroids can only be seen in news headlines we read every day. However, NASA, FEMA, and other space agencies hand in hand to be prepared against a bad scenario. They will simulate an asteroid impact. Mark Boslough, professor of Earth and planetary sciences at the University of New Mexico, summarizes the situation in his own words: “The results can be enormous ... We are talking about potential city killers, the effects that could destroy an entire continent and even cause the collapse of civilization. But the probability is extremely low. Classic low probability, fatal outcome scenario. I don't spend much time worrying about it. " Where Do These Asteroids Come From? Our solar system consisted of many substances, large and small, in the form of a disc, surrounding the Sun. The vast majority of them integrate with each other to form planets. But not all of them had the same fate. For example, the region between Mars and Jupiter. Jupiter's high gravity prevented the formation of planets in the region. So many small pieces of a rock hit each other and formed asteroids. Sometimes Jupiter’s gravitational force can distort the orbits of these objects and bring them closer to Earth. Other objects, such as icy comets, will eventually approach Earth in their elliptical orbit. These comets and asteroids come together to form the group of objects close to the earth. In the article, the English abbreviation “NEO ıda will be used.

Objects near the Earth NEOs are any objects within the 1,3 astronomical units of the Sun. An astronomical unit (AU) corresponds to 93 million miles (149,597,871 km), the distance between the Sun and the Earth. Scientists have created a list of NEOs that we need to worry about, called potentially dangerous asteroids. These are objects that pass through Earth's orbit and are about the size of a football stadium, twenty times the distance between Earth and the Moon. Boslough said that if something of this size hit the Earth, it would cause regional disaster. How Long have Scientists Worried About Asteroid Effects? Our answer dates back to 1694. Astronomer Edmond Halley (the person Halley's comet named after) claimed that comets could hit Earth. During the 18th and 19th centuries, other astronomers thought that comets would hit Earth. However, there were very few comets that scientists could observe. Later, in 1908, an incident in Tunguska flattened a forest in Russia. In the 1930s, scientists began to observe many large asteroids, such as Hermes, who passed close to Earth. Halley's Comet In 1980, father-son Luis and Walter Alvarez discovered iridium, a rare element, in a 65-million-year-old rock layer. Their hypothesis was that the element was introduced by a large asteroid.

But perhaps the most important event in the history of modern asteroid crash did not happen on Earth. In 1993, scientists Carolyn and Eugene M. Shoemaker and David Levy discovered a comet revolving around Jupiter. Researchers' interest in the comet has increased tremendously as the comet sees the possibility of hitting Jupiter. In July 1994, the comet hit Jupiter, creating black spots that could be seen for months. How are we now? Planet-wide defense is an international endeavor with a budget of millions, billions, and even trillions of dollars. NASA's Planet Defense Coordination Office is responsible for monitoring asteroids, and alerting the media and the public to potential hazards. They are also developing research techniques to prevent impacts and are coordinating with government and FEMA institutions on how to respond to a potential impact. History:

A mother gave birth to a baby boy in the dead of night. She looked down at him wearily and yet his father was not there to see him. She named the boy after his uncle, Diedrich, as she laid in her bathtub cradling the baby in her arms. They lived in a bad neighborhood and the mother’s rather sexual occupation brought unusual visitors most of the time. As the child grew he would be instructed to stay out of their shared room every time a stranger came over. While growing up without a father, his uncle soon filled that role for him once he moved in to help support the small family of two.

When Diedrich turned six they left their town in Germany with the hope that they could forge a better life in America. His mother got a part time job at a cafe and his uncle worked his way up to be a warden. The young boy, despite usuallybeing shy, somehow managed to make three friends at the public school he went to. He’d get bullied and teased for his thick accent and yet his friends were always there to stick up for him as he eventually learned to stand up for himself. The only thing that really affected his childhood was seeing his uncle brutally murdered in front of him at age 7. He was quite shaken up after this incident. Something changed in the once bright eyes young boy he became more closed off and shy as opposed to his outward and open nature he previously had.

His friends were there to support him of course, but during high school he became more violent. Dragging his friends down a rather odd path with him. He would start fights, piss off teachers, and generally all around be ansshole, but every other student loved him for it. He wouldn’t come home for days at a time leading to heated arguments with his mother, he moved in with his friend’s brother at age 16 where he learned the illegal trade that is drug dealing. From that he worked his way up the path of being a hired gun, which he still is today. He’s known for the quick and easy way he goes about things. His main employer who gives him his contracts allows him to pose as a night guard to give an excuse to the various scars and cuts that’ll show up on his body.

A small hatred of his mother began to brew inside of him as he grew.
