👁️👄👁️ Baby Ves was angry. No information on this demo sadly. I'm leaning more toward 2011 because I know he was performing with a local cover band as a part-time member at that time. This definitely could be all him, but it was published to his YouTube under a different project name than anything else he'd posted so 🤷‍♀️ I'm not sure the lyrics are 100% correct, but credit to my Discord buddies who took a stab at these lyrics several months back (including counting how many times Ves screamed that last line lol).

A group of over a thousand Finnish artists have joined the call of Icelandic artists and composers petitioning to have Israel removed from the Eurovision Song Contest.

The artists are saying that if Israel is not removed Yle should boycott and not send an artist to the competition.

In the petition, the Finnish artists have said: “It is not in accordance with our values that a country that commits war crimes and continues a military occupation is given a public stage to polish its image in the name of music."

Axel Ehnström, Finland's 2011 representative, is among those calling for Israel to be removed from the contest.

Sharing one of my favorite Jonghyun clips, since it's been a long time since I've seen it subtitled and in good quality. This is from when he was a contestant on Immortal Songs 2 in 2011. For his last performance on the show, he decided to cover "Left-Handed" by Panic in his own unique style. The results are—well, you'll see. Nothing about it is boring.

I feel like I talk about this clip a lot, both because it was one of the first performances I saw from Jonghyun, and because it represents so many of the things that he was (and still is) to me: dorky, brave, and stubbornly committed to being himself—a genuine iconoclast in an industry that does everything it can to hammer out non-conformity.

Got a double feature for you all today (sort of). Same song but before and after Ves learned a bit about mixing/producing. The lyrics are from the variant version that's below the cut.

This song was recorded with my new condenser microphone, though it’s still mixed very badly. It is devoted to someone who’s sheer persistence against the difficulties in life is a phenomenon itself.

I'm trying to get better at producing, bearing in mind this is all done myself. This took me about six straight hours, but it seems that when it comes to producing music, the best way to learn is by trial and error. It's still not brilliant, but I thought I would show you anyway. I hope you enjoy it.

Super interesting to hear the changes between the two. This man is way too talented for his own good. The original was uploaded in December 2011, and the variant was uploaded in May 2012.
