this is mostly about Charles.. sorry

The numbers under the drivers names on the left is their average pace. The plot on the right shows when they pitted, onto which tyre and how long their stints were. The smoothed race pace just gives a rough overview of the drivers pace throughout the race.

And honestly Charles was insane. He effectively did a 2stop vs his teammate who did a 3 stop (tear off forced him into an early ish pit too). But Charles had to pit lap 7 which was the same lap the SC ended so pretty much the first lap.

So he had to manage his tyres more vs Carlos who got to push and Charles had do cut through more traffic and his average pace is less than 2 tenths off of Carlos.

And that is seriously impressive.

This cumulative delta plot just visualises how the gaps between the drivers developed throughout the race.

1 -> Charles (and Max) have damage and have to pit. And their gaps to the front are pretty big.

2 -> this is when Carlos had to pit early because of the tear off

3 -> Carlos had an extra pitstop under the VSC and the new tyres are why his pace was better in the last few laps.

this is the CD plot for all the drivers and you can more easily see just how far away Charles and Max were after the start.

I’ve been thinking about this for days. How do you think Tessa gets such a full top knot a la Sochi/Order of Canada/Ilderton réunion. There must be some kind of hair device right?!

At the Order of Canada, there was definitely something, I’m assuming a bun donut.

For Ilderton, it was a low key event and she didn’t have someone else doing her hair (I assume), and based on how different her hair looked at times, I assume she redid her hair, which isn’t surprising given the circumstances. There was probably a little donut in there, at least for part of it.

But, it doesn’t always take a ton of hair to create a big top knot, even if it doesn’t have the best overall structural integrity, lol.

(You can see the basic ‘knot’ beneath but the looser volume overall here.)

Tessa has a long, long history of top knots, both working out/casual and fancy versions, so no doubt she has all the little tricks up her sleeve.
