So, having adhd and writing as a hobby can be a challenge, to put it mildly.
I just made a plot for my fantasy novel, which I've been writing on and off on for the last 8 years.
8 years bro!
And now I've finally found that coffeewriting is the way to go! (The rule is, you write for as long as your afternoon coffee - or tea I don't judge - lasts, which let you skip the steps of page or word count, something that always stressed me out). ☕☕☕
Also, I might update my destiny fanfic (Lightbearer) before the end of this year 😭

I decided to deal with my current reality like I do everything else--with writing. So, my @substackinc blog is on. Check out "The ADHD Writer Strikes Again" to hear more about my story, and to engage in a conversation about neurodivergence, mental health, and family. I also want to share my #divorcejourney because I believe others are going through it or have gone through it. We need to connect, link up our voices and let the world know that it's not okay to weaponize our ADHD against us. That, I should not have to defend my life and my mental state just because I am a neurodivergent and I decided to leave him. I didn't have anyone to teach me that it was okay, To be me.
I never had a mother who tried to understand why life wouldn't work that easily like it did for others, I never had a mother who could understand her own mental wellbeing wasn't something to be punished, to be pushed away, to be twisted into other versions of a tale deeply woven into my bones. I had a mother who loved me, fed me, and made sure that I didn't feel anything less for how I looked, or functioned. Hearing be damned, I would understand that it didn't matter if I couldn't hear all the sounds of the world. I had a mother that could bless even the worst emotional tears with a gentle touch, always thought I was the prettiest, and knew that I was a loving person. I never had a mother who could understand that forgetting something even if you wrote it down didn't mean you weren't putting in effort. I never had a mother who realized that her daughter was screaming for help with something invisible.
I never had a mother who knew she had ADHD. k.m.
