— DISCO ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH
Tumblr media
⤷ featuring : megumi fushiguro
⤷ warnings : n/a
⤷ form : imagine
⤷ published : 19 march
⤷ pronouns : not mentioned
⤷ word count : 0.7k
⤷ request : good day, I'd like to order a classic black coffee if that's alright? Though my order might be a bit specific. I was wondering how Megumi would react upon his s/o standing next to him, brushing their teeth with a flashing, LED electric toothbrush- cause yes, yes, that is my toothbrush. So it's a bit of a disco toothbrush if you will so. I personally don't mind if it's an imagine or headcanons, you could go with either what you feel like more. As for the reader, gender neutral please. Maybe you'll decide to pick up this order, thank you for your time
⤷ barista’s notes : ummm so i have another movie ticket to the jjk 0 movie because it was so so good but i hate the fact that i know i will probably get an 'after movie headache' which i hate so much ʕ ꈍᴥꈍʔ

“You know you have to brush your teeth right?”
Opening your eyes, you slowly turn your head away from the dog’s fur that was engulfing your face to view your boyfriend staring down at you with an indifferent look on his face, yet when you stared into his eyes, you could tell from a little shine that he adored the sight that was in front of him right now.
At this current moment in time, you were comfortably laying on his bed with his two dogs cuddling up next to you, with the black dog’s head resting on top of yours and the white one laying on your legs covering them like a weighted blanket.
Groaning, you turned on your back causing the pups to whine slightly before getting comfortable again as they thought you weren’t going to obey their owner.
“Yeah, I know,” you replied before using your hand to rub the black dog’s head as you began to sit up, leading the dogs to whine a bit more since they didn’t want you to leave.
“She’s going to come back soon, quit being clingy,” Megumi commented before rubbing the white dog’s head as a way to reassure that he was not lying to them, resulting in the dogs slowly accepting the fact that you were going to be gone in a few minutes.
Carefully moving your legs, you made sure the white divine dog was okay before standing up to follow your boyfriend to the bathroom - knowing that the dogs later will follow you both and just sit peacefully behind or beside you both.
Walking up to the counter, you grabbed your wash bag that was relaxing on the side before unzipping it to take out a container that contained your toothbrush. You knew Megumi had a lot of spare things around his dorm room for you, but you knew that he loved doing skincare with you, so you just grabbed anything you needed anyway to minimalise the waste and space used - you just felt a little guilty having to take up space from his room that he could use.
Although it seemed like you were peacefully enjoying the calm moment, Megumi seemed to want to break that silence once he noticed that your toothbrush looked a bit transparent in some areas. However, he decided to leave it for the time being.
Turning on the tap, you quickly wet your toothbrush before adding a considerable amount of toothpaste before beginning to brush your teeth, causing Megumu’s decision to leave the tranquil moment once the lights and music began to play.
“What is that?” Megumi asked with a judgmental look before you peered at him in the mirror, causing you to cover your mouth as you giggled at the look on his face.
“It’s a toothbrush,” you said with a bit of struggle before spitting out the foam that accumulated from the brushing.
“That is not a toothbrush love,” Megumi mentioned as he squeezed the toothpaste bottle to place some on the bristles of this brush.
“It is!” you protested before turning the device off. “It’s quite good when we might have a power outage since it would be a good source of light.”
Glancing at you in the mirror, Megumi couldn’t help but let the corner of his lips curl up as he continued to admire you as you explained your reasoning on having a disco toothbrush.
“But wouldn’t the song start to annoy you?” Megumi questioned with a mumble as he, once again, faced forward to continue brushing his teeth, leaving you to answer his question with indecisiveness as you began to weigh the pros and cons to his question.
Even though Megumi knew that a high school student having a disco toothbrush was kind of silly, he liked that he learnt this little fact about you. Something that you weren’t shy of showing to him and even if it was something small, he was eternally grateful that you were so comfortable around him.
Spitting out the contents from his mouth, Megumu quickly swirled around some mouthwash while you did the same before taking a swig of water to fully cleanse the contents on your mouth. After making sure you had finished your routine, Megumi couldn’t help but poke your cheek the second you faced the mirror, causing a surprised look to appear on your face before turning your head to look at your boyfriend.
“Silly idiot,” Megumi randomly commented, before quickly taking your hand in a tight gasp as he began to drag you back to his bed, ready to end the day after seeing another adorable side to you.

Chihayafuru 3 – 13 – The Iceman Cometh
Tumblr media
After receiving a bouquet from her adorable firstborn, Haruka wins the second match and becomes the challenger to the Queen. Not a lot of time was spent on their match, which is good, because while Haruka’s a perfectly likable character neither she or Megumu have very fleshed out characters.
During the break he got when Harada withdrew, Arata takes a stroll and thinks about what Chihaya whispered to her, and returns with the face of someone envisioning their imminent victory.
Tumblr media
Chihaya also took the opportunity to get some fresh air in the park near the karuta hall, and encounters Suo. When she asks why he always gives out pastries, he says it’s because they contain vitamins, but when she asks why he speaks so softly, he wonders if that’s all she wants to ask him. He’s not wrong on that point.
Chihaya wants to ask him karuta questions she’ll probably never get satisfying answers to, but even something from the guy could prove useful. Unfortunately, Suo takes Chihaya’s attention the wrong way and repeatedly tells her he doesn’t have a girlfriend!
Tumblr media
When the third and final match begins, what Chihaya said to Arata is revealed: he’s not going to beat their mentor just by being the same ol’ Arata. He has to channel his grandfather, Master Wataya, and everyone is struck by how much he succeeds in doing so, both in how he carries himself and how his tactics are constantly changing to foil Harada’s uber-offensive style.
By channeling a much older man—someone fifteen years older than Harada himself—Arata is able to take control of the game, but he also inadvertently lends his opponent a second wind, since Harada feels like a young man again (he was nineteen the one time he faced Master Wataya). He’s truly raging against the dying of the light, but disaster strikes when his knee suddenly gives out. Will the kind-hearted Arata subconsciously take pity and ease off his game, or will he do what has to be done to face Master Suo?

Tumblr media
Fushiguro will be between the idea of you looking so adorable when you cuddle or play with his divine dogs or on the low, will be pouty and jealous since it seems like you love them more than you love him - even though he knows the truth.
His divine dogs seem to love you and the attention you give them as well since every time he summons them, they would look for you and immediately run to your side to lean on your legs for you to give them head rubs - but when it’s time for fighting business, they will quickly go back to Fushiguro.
After a mission, if the dogs are summoned, best be known you are going to praise them for doing such a good job because they love being babied even when they act a vicious predator when it comes to curses - Itadori is shocked at how cute they act when you talk to them.
During training, you would beg Fushiguro to summon his divine dogs to keep you company since you guys would take turns to spar Maki - and he can’t say no to you, so expect one dog to be resting on your legs while the other is behind you supporting your back.
You would also do this when you’re bored like you would be hanging out in your dorm room before you would rush to his and ask for him to summon his dogs because “I’m lonely” - I- your boyfriend is right in front of you….
But you would cuddle Fushiguro with his dogs on your lap especially during the colder seasons because it gives such a nice happy family feeling - and Fushiguro loves it as well.
He often finds you taking a nap in the sun with them cuddling close to you - may be one of them acting as a pillow for you, but they don’t mind at all - and if anyone tries to wake you up - except for Fushiguro - expect them to growl at the person with no hesitation.
If the person will try again, they will bite the person’s hand or leg - hahaha…..good luck with a bleeding hand.
However, when it’s Fushiguro trying to wake you up, the dogs will whine, kind of like telling him to let you sleep a little longer and that they want to stay a little longer with you - they will nudge his hand with their nose to keep it away from you.
“I got to wake up Y/N guys, I can’t let them sleep in the sun for too long,”
More whining from the dogs, before they would lick his face to convince him more to let you rest a little longer - somehow it works and he would sit near you and the dogs because you look so cute in this little scenario.
“I feel like they love you more than me, Y/N”
“What are you talking about Mimi? They can’t love me more than their owner,” - Don’t lie Y/N, you know the truth hehe
But when the white divine dog dies, Fushiguro will see you with the saddest face because you miss your companion so much - so he feels extra guilty and summons his other one a lot more for you to cuddle and play with.
Overall, please make sure you spend equal time with your boyfriend as well as his dogs because we don’t want Mimi to feel left out at all, do we?

Bookshelf Briefs 1/14/19
After Hours, Vol. 3 | By Yuhta Nishio | Viz Media – The scenes in this book of the rave, before, after and during, as well as what comes next, are fantastic, and the volume is worth picking up for that reason alone. That said, the romance in this third volume is the weak point. Kei abruptly disappears from Emi’s life right as Emi is ready to move into Kei’s life permanently, and while the family issues that Kei has to deal with are understandable, the author seems to think it’s 1959 and not 2019. You have phones! The journey by bus is a long one, but completely doable! There is no need for the ambiguous “maybe ever after” of this ending. That said, overall I found this series highly enjoyable, and if they want to do a sequel with Emi alone running raves, I’m cool with that too. – Sean Gaffney
Chihayafuru, Vol. 14 | By Yuki Suetsugu | Kodansha Comics (digital only) – Mizusawa has made it to the semi-finals of the national tournament, facing a team led by Megumu Ousaka, a candidate for Queen. Although Chihaya ultimately loses against her, she makes quite the impression on her opponent and others, causing one observer to think, “I never knew another girl this good existed.” I loved that it’s Desk-kun who seals the team’s ultimate victory, but less than an hour later, they’re facing formidable opponents in the finals. Fujisaki is full of Class A players but Chihaya’s opponent has an additional advantage: her grandmother is the reciter and she’s especially attuned to her nuances. Tense, fun, addictive, emotionally rewarding… I always want more when I get current with this series. – Michelle Smith
Kuroko’s Basketball, Vol. 29-30 | By Tadatoshi Fujimaki | Viz Media – In Japan, sports manga tend to have varying endings, with either the team winning it all or losing in the semis and resolving to try harder. North America tends to see a lot more of the former, so hope you like our heroes winning. It’s as well-handled as you’d expect, and I really enjoyed the development shown in Kuroko, Kagami, and Akashi here. There’s also a nice epilogue where Riko reminds us there’s a new tournament in the Spring, and they have to recruit! But for now let’s enjoy both their victory and the fact that the old Miracle Generation have mostly resolved their differences. The last shot has the old middle school picture balanced with his high school team, which is lovely to see. Do we get the sequel? – Sean Gaffney
Lovesick Ellie, Vol. 7 | By Fujimomo | Kodansha Comics (digital only) – Last time, I was a little worried that drama fueled by misunderstandings would become the norm for Lovesick Ellie, but I’m happy to report that no longer seems to be the case. While it is true that Ellie’s classmates get the wrong idea about her relationship with Kaname and Ohmi is freaked out by this rival, never at any point does Ohmi think she’s actually cheating on him. In fact, he opens up to Kaname about his insecurities, potentially making a friend in the process, and takes a good look at the kind of boyfriend Kaname could’ve been to her that he presently can’t be. With his focus on acting how other people expect, and remaining the other girls’ princely ideal, he’s never acknowledged Ellie as his girlfriend. Now, he’s ready for people to know how special she is to him. I’m so glad this series is back on track! – Michelle Smith
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, Vol. 33 | By Shinobu Ohtaka | Viz Media – I will admit the high point of Magi for me was the resolution of my ship, and the rest is just gravy. (Though I did enjoy the naive Alibaba being horrified at having a fight with Morgiana—that seems to have lasted five seconds.) But yeah, Sinbad’s still trying to make the world be at peace, and his methods are growing more and more horrible, as Kou’s dramatic cessation from the Alliance causes him to challenge God and emerge with the “it’s OK if I just mind control everyone to see it my way” solution. Sadly, Aladdin does not see this as anything but despotism. Aladdin is right, of course, but this is still Alibaba’s title, so he gets to mediate between these two. Who will he side with? – Sean Gaffney
Mob Psycho 100, Vol. 1 | By One | Dark Horse – There were several reasons why I was interested in reading Mob Psycho 100, the two most prominent being that One is the original creator of One-Punch Man (which I have been greatly enjoying) and that there was so much excitement surrounding the Mob Psycho 100 anime (which I still need to watch). But the main reason that I’ll continue to read Mob Psycho 100 is that I absolutely loved the first volume. Shigeo is a young man with superhuman powers which he tends to control by suppressing his emotions. Life being life, and middle school being middle school, there’s only so much he can bottle up before exploding. His mentor is Reigen, a spirit medium whose only extraordinary skill seems to be the ability to somehow convince others that he’s a legitimate exorcist despite all evidence to the contrary. Mob Psycho 100 is terrific, with a great sense of quirky humor and heart. – Ash Brown
Queen’s Quality, Vol. 6 | By Kyousuke Motomi | Viz Media – The volumes of Queen’s Quality seem to alternate between characters saying that Fumi is too weak and characters saying Kyutaro is too weak, and this time around it’s the latter, as he really gets put through the ringer here. The training they have to take on may involve some unsettling looks at Fumi’s background and heritage, which to be fair we’ve known was coming since the first volume. I admit I am somewhat surprised by Ataru’s promotion to sidekick-type character, but he serves it well, though there’s also a nasty flashback to his past I’m sure he’d rather do without. This wasn’t the best volume of Queen’s Quality, but that’s likely as it was transitional, and it’s still pretty solid. – Sean Gaffney
The Water Dragon’s Bride, Vol. 8 | By Rei Toma | VIZ Media – Asahi’s time as a captive in the underworld is brief, though it does afford us a few nice scenes in which the worried Water Dragon God is trying to find her. Instead, most of the volume is focused on Kurose, a boy from our world who seems to have become the plaything of Tokoyami, the god of the underworld. Kurose had a horrible home life and after potentially dying, he wakes in the underworld and is promptly whisked off to a village where he experiences kindness and a loving family for the first time. That is, until war comes and the Water Dragon God refuses to notice his desperation to save someone he cares about. I’m left to wonder… did this all really happen, or was Tokoyami mentally torturing him to create an ally in a vendetta against the Water Dragon God? Very intriguing! – Michelle Smith
The Water Dragon’s Bride, Vol. 8 | By Rei Toma | Viz Media – There was a surprising swerve in this volume. After dealing with rescuing Asahi from turning into a rotting zombie, and seeing the Water Dragon God have to deal with these pesky things called feelings, the rest of the volume is devoted to sketching out the tragic backstory of Kurose, the mini-villain from the end of the last volume. Not only is he merely a useful puppet to the true Big Bad, but he’s also a lot closer to Asahi than she might suspect, and has a suitably tragic backstory—in more than one world. I was expecting the adorable little girl he befriends to be horrible killed, and she is, but that may not be the end for her, unfortunately. Riveting. – Sean Gaffney
