Oh! Elder Bones, sorry if this has been asked before, but what did Bloodclan think when White Hart was destroyed? I imagine that it was pretty bad on a logistical level, given the trade routes that had been established, but beyond that? Did they mourn their tentative allies? Did they offer aid? After generations pass, do they still remember their forest-bound neighbors? Is there any contact between Bloodclan and the Lake Territories?

Not everyone in BloodClan was happy to be trading with the very cats they'd organized in opposition to! Scourge did not think the inner workings of his group was the business of his new allies, and while he was setting up trade routes to their mutual benefit, there were elements within BloodClan plotting a change...

BloodClan's leadership changes paws in a (currently unnamed) "competition." To compete, you must have four teeth in your collar currently, and to win, you must produce an impressive tooth to complete it.

The "Impressive Tooth" doesn't need to be the largest one, though Scourge was able to take leadership from Brick before him by felling a hound. Brick was able to submit the tooth of a Clan leader-- Pinestar, given willingly. In fact, you don't need to acquire the tooth alone.

So Scourge was trying to pre-empt the anti-Forest members of his Clan by essentially appointing someone, Claw, and he would pass on one of his own teeth. He didn't need to do this in the end-- Fury attempted to kill Claw and he took one of her teeth instead. BUT ANYWAY, politics of Ferncloud's Parting aside, that's for another time...

Scourge offered aid to the Forest Four in TNP. They were grateful for this.

While the trading is nothing but mutually beneficial, opinion of Clan cats is not 100% positive.

There is a deep history of animosity between the groups, and that never fully went away.

When the Forest Four are driven out, opinion generally gets more positive. It's easy to miss an idea, and their exports are missed.

There is very little contact between the groups, as it's just too far to travel. The Forest Four went VERY far north.

-nendo is an extreme extrovert and saiki is an extreme introvert. now we've all heard of extrovert/introvert friendships and how the extrovert adopts the introvert and yes absolutely nendo did adopt saiki but also get this: nendo is an extrovert who struggles to make friends. he is loud and crude and not super smart and most people find him a little off-putting. saiki on the other hand is an introvert with an insanely high stat in charisma for no fucking reason and most definitely against his will. people are drawn to him despite his best efforts to push them away. therefore nendo and saiki are the dream team. they compliment each other. nendo's unlikeability keeps the normals well away from saiki, whereas saiki's baffling magnetism attracts the weirdos not put off by nendo's nendoness. nendo finally has the friendship group of his dreams, and saiki gets his likeability score tanked every time nendo calls him "pal". incredible.

-theyve been friends long enough now that they can do that weird BFFL thing where they can finish each others sentences and guess pretty accurately each others train of thought. this caused a crisis for saiki bc for a minute he thought nendo actually could read his mind.

-when I say saiki can pretty accurately guess what nendo is thinking I mean that nendo is pretty much always thinking about ramen

-nendo however will have real conversations with saiki where saiki says nothing. not even with his telepathy. nothing. nendo just knows through BFFL magic what saiki would say. saiki loves this, despite being a bit scared that nendo is always right on the money

-sometimes saiki indulges nendo's weird impulsive thoughts. they're both teenage boys. saiki is repressed, but also a silly little guy at heart. he has pushed nendo down a very steep hill in a shopping cart, while nendo stood upright in it, T-posing and screaming the whole way. he fell out and split his lip on the pavement.

-they play saiki's weird bargain bin games together. you can't convince me that they don't.

-they absolutely bully each other and yes it is a love language. sometimes you just need to tell your best friend that he is ugly and a freak of nature and that is okay <3

-they clown on saiki's dad together. saiki likes the challenge of pranking kuniharu without using his powers. nendo just likes seeing kuniharu suffer

-they once bought up every single coffee jelly for miles and then had a taste testing tournament involving a sticker chart to find the best coffee jelly factoring in best quality for money. granted, saiki did a lot of the heavy lifting for this one, but nendo enjoyed putting stickers onto the chart. it holds the record for the most saiki has ever smiled in one day

-once kusuke came over and tried to pull some bullshit while they were hanging out and they just looked at each other and then started throwing shit at him. like;

kusuke: KUSUO I HAVE COME TO EN-

kusuo: (throws TV remote at his head)

kusuke: TO ENGAGE YOU IN-

nendo: (throws a half eaten sandwich at his head)

kusuke: IN A BATTLE OF W-

kusuo: (throws a water bottle at his head)

kusuke: OF WITS- STOP THROWI-

nendo: (throws his chair at his head)

this only ended bc kuniharu thought it looked fun and tried to join in. they then started throwing things at him instead.

-nendo got them matching "I LOVE MY BEST FRIEND" t shirts. saiki has never worn his and never will but nendo wears his fucking constantly

-saiki retaliated by getting t-shirts that said "IM WITH STUPID" and "IM STUPID" on them. jokes on him tho bc nendo loves that shirt too.

unfortunately every post about beauty on here, no matter how tame in its criticism (even something as basic as “women shouldn’t be forced to wear makeup to be considered human”) immediately get inundated with dozens of people losing their minds, either because they think they’re being told what to do or because pointing out that structural forces exist means you personally are responsible for them existing. everyone jokes about this being the sjw website but in my experience a lot of people on here - progressives included - don’t even know about like, the basic premises of feminism

What I mean by that is that an album should work as a cohesive unit and ideally every song should bring something new or exciting to the table, add to the narrative, expand the universe, etc. When we look at the vault tracks for Fearless TV and Red TV for example (though to be fair, less with Red), there are a bunch of tracks on there that wouldn't have added anything to the album except weight and runtime. And a long runtime makes a record less memorable imo – rarely am I going to take time out of my day to listen to an album that is 2+ hours long. And Taylor is a GREAT album artist, no doubt. I just dislike the narrative that has sprung up that Taylor releasing vault tracks etc. is a sign that she is freeee from the shakles of Big Machine where evil man Scott B told her to cut all of those good songs >:( like. Scott B fucking sucks but having an editor on you who really brings out your strengths and teaches you to sharpen your skill and vision is not bad per se. (I don't think their particular relationship was healthy in that regard, but that's not shocking information.) Obviously this is in part due to the streaming era, but we still have artists who create albums™ and I hope Taylor remains one of them.

I read your post that mentioned cedar chips and now you've gotten me thinking about trading/exports in the Clans. So if ShadowClan were to trade cedar chips to others (since they live in a pine forest), what would the other Clans offer? Fish oil from RiverClan maybe? BTW I love your worldbuilding!

Cedar chips are going to be something I have to put extra thought into... see, the UK is actually BUTT ASS barren when it comes to pine trees, mostly boasting my boy the Scots Pine, whose pollen is actually known for having gonadotropic effects

(In plain English that means that it produces T-boy Dust. Boy Powder, if you will. I featured it in my HRT Guide)

But other pine trees? Mostly introduced. ESPECIALLY cedar which is Lebanese. So that presents a question; who planted it, and where?

In the Forest Territories, it's likely that they were actually planted in ThunderClan. Cedars are ornamental and ThunderClan contains the hiking trail... unless, of course, there was some abandoned settlement or aesthetic park construction in ShadowClan and humans left cedar there.

In the Lake Territories? That WHOLE pine forest is probably an abandoned logging area. There's beech there too-- another famously introduced English tree that can't self-propagate in this Northern area. Anyway, that would mean ShadowClan is the one with easy access to cedar chips.

It would be interesting if the Clan cats were actually responsible for propagating certain trees... hmm...

Wouldn't it be funny if ShadowClan did some raids on ThunderClan to find their cedar trees and steal cones? That might be fun. Get some Botany Warfare going on.

ANYWAY

Whoever has the chips has a very valuable resource to trade indeed.

RiverClan can offer fish oil and pottery.

WindClan has a lot of bones and pelts from the sheer amount of rabbits they eat, plus flax when they control the Mothermouth Moorland... and tunnelbuns

ShadowClan has a wide array of useful things, pitch, possibly flax when they have the Mothermouth Moor, lower quality clay, the cedar chips, herbs.

ThunderClan has honey, pitch as well, different types of pelts, feathers, lumber in HUGE abundance.
