josh lyman LOVED so deeply…his romantic relationships with other woman are often criticized in misogynistic ways or reduced to josh just being a man that’s just what he does, but i think it’s more nuanced than that and i get that we joke i just want to ramble abt josh…i find it quite cute how vulnerable he was when it came to pursuing a relationship with joey, from the suit to the mug to the unfortunate encounter with al kiefer. i think it’s the little moments like where he tells amy where he missed the part where everyone learned how to function in relationships (i loosely summarize) so telling. his whole relationship with donna…really what more could be said? lightly put, i think it’s the greatest love story of all time. with all that said, he expressed his love the best way he could with his past informing his actions..ended up in relationships that didn’t last (i forgot mandy 😭) but surely not for a lack of trying (maybe a lack of trying by the writers). he may not have loved these women aside from donna, but i think it’s incredible to see how he navigates his crushes and how it reveals so much. at the end of it all, the platonic and romantic love is rooted in his fear of losing anyone, and his love for his work is sometimes prioritized over all else. the presence of love and how deep he loves that informs his character is just something i love. i think i came into this reflecting on a tweet that rubbed me the wrong way but ended up rambling LOL.

After watching several episodes with Amy featuring on The West Wing... I absolutely hate her.

She's mans interpretation of a feminist. Specifically the newer louder Spice Girl empowerment women felt at the end of the 90s.

Whilst her snark and energy fit in with the show, her bad talking points are often so bad of you actually are knowledge about the stuff she's talking about.

The worst I've seen so far was the debut episode where she ranted about absolutely no prostitution should ever be legal... But even back in the 2000s women's adocoates knew that decrimination is the only way forward?

Not only as a beginning to combat human trafficking but as a way to put money, safety and rights in the pockets of those doing it because people will always do it. My boy Josh agrees! They deserve unions.

But boohoo the show mades Donna, a resident female to come out to voice the anti prostitutation idea. You know, they didn't bother to bring back the ACTUAL SEX WORKER from season one to voice her opinion.

'They don't want people to know their sex workers so we shouldn't legalize it' Donna said. GIRL? LOGIC? Side note- in America do unions MAKE you publish your name to say your in the union? Cuz that's s not legal here.

To demand that prostitution stay illegal is actually such a bad stance for a 'feminist'. She should be advocating for decrimination and how to allocate those tax dollars from the industry to combat human trafficking.

Anyway lots of other reasons to not like her, like her voice. Her.... annoying voice. But I care less about that and more about her shitty shitty politics.

It's just not charming at all to watch Josh fight with his girlfriends or ex-girlfriends. It wasn't cute with Mandy and it's not cute with Amy. I get that Josh is combative so I guess the show thought it would be fun to keep pairing him with equally combative love interests but it's not. Please, stop it. I've got half a season left before I bail, can we not do this anymore?
