Headcanon that Trevor is an animal person. Obviously he adores his turtle Kovacs, but I like to think he’s also the kind of person to gasp and point out every single dog he sees out and about. He finds out Angela has a cat and immediately starts gushing over how cute she is. Idk I just think it fits him :)

American Arcadia was so great!
youtube
I've seriously never seen a blending of genres done so expertly as in American Arcadia. It's only outdone by the quality of the narrative and the characters. Give this one a play!

A Turtle’s Week
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1, 188
SPOILERS FOR THE END OF THE GAME
Turtles do not have much in the way of desires besides a comfortable place to nap and good things to eat. As such, Kovacs was quite satisfied with his life inside the Hard Water Box. The material under his feet was always pleasantly soft and clean, there was always fresh water, and The One Who Feeds always came at the same time every sunrise to drop delicious vegetables and worms.
The One Who Feeds was a bewilderingly large creature, possessing no shell and having bristly fur on its head. It would often make noises at Kovacs, and gently rub its paw on his shell, and the turtle did not find it unpleasant. The sounds of The One Who Feeds were simply a part of Kovacs’ world, a world he was quite accustomed to.
The One Who Feeds had a ritual every morning where after it finished its own food, it would make the same noise at Kovacs before vanishing for a while. Then it would return and make a different sound at Kovacs before perhaps making sounds on the Black And White Thing or sitting in front of the Noises And Lights Box for some time before going to sleep.
It was routine, but it was a peaceful routine. Kovacs was content.
Then suddenly, things seemed…different. The One Who Feeds started making sounds that were unlike its usual sounds. These sounds were higher pitched and faster, and Kovacs didn’t think he liked them as much as the sounds from before. When The One Who Feeds was like this, usually it would sit at the Black And White Thing and make sounds until it stopped being so erratic. But now it wouldn’t even do that.
Kovacs wasn’t too worried. Whatever it was that was causing this new behavior would stop soon. Routine had never been disrupted too terribly before.
But then one day The One Who Feeds did not return after leaving as usual. The light outside darkened, and still it did not appear, nor could Kovacs hear its call.
This had never happened before.
Kovacs waited. Even if The One Who Feeds was late to return, surely it would remember to come back and feed him in the morning.
But it did not.
Kovacs wandered around the edge of the Hard Water Box. It was time to eat. There was light. The One Who Feeds could not have forgotten.
Which meant that something was preventing it from coming back.
Kovacs started to nudge at the sides of his Box. If The One Who Feeds was unable to come home, Kovacs would have to go to it.
But the plants in the Box were too short for Kovacs to climb. And so all he could do was wait.
The light darkened again, and still there was nothing. So Kovacs continued to wait.
Kovacs was then awoken from his slumber by very loud sounds.
There was a creature here. Lots of them. They had black shells and made terribly loud sounds and Kovacs moved to the very edge of his Box to try to get away, but one of them scooped him up in its big dark paws and when he bit them nothing happened except for more loud sounds.
Kovacs had to stay in his Box. The One Who Feeds would come back soon, so he could not leave it!
Kovacs was placed inside a different Box, this time without any leaves or bedding or water, just darkness. It rattled around a bit, and Kovacs found it very unpleasant, especially as the noises continued. They were nothing like the quiet noises The One Who Feeds made.
Kovacs was unsure if he would ever see The One Who Feeds again.
Time passed. How much, Kovacs knew not—he could not see the sun through this Box. At one point the air inside the Box became horribly frigid, and Kovacs felt himself growing drowsy.
But then, the top of the Box opened, and down looked the face of The One Who Feeds!
The One Who Feeds lifted Kovacs out of the Box and held him gently against its front. There was water coming out of its face, and its coverings smelled different, and it was making bad sounds, and the cold was even worse outside that awful Box, but Kovacs didn’t think much of it. Finally, everything would be alright. They would go home, and Kovacs would be put back in his proper, warm Box and given plenty of cabbage, and The One Who Feeds would make sounds on the Black And White Thing, and all would be well.
Except they did not go back. The One Who Feeds turned to another large creature. Kovacs mentally named it The One With The Red Stripe. It made sounds at The One Who Feeds, and the face water and bad sounds slowly came to a stop.
Kovacs decided that The One With The Red Stripe must be responsible for returning The One Who Feeds to him. That meant it was a good creature. A very good creature.
After that, things were a bit of a blur. They arrived at a place that was warm and smelled very much like The One With The Red Stripe. Kovacs was given cabbage, but he still wanted his Box. Oh well, The One Who Feeds was here, so it wasn’t too bad.
There was also a hairy creature there. Kovacs decided to call it The Hairy One. It nudged his head, and it was not unpleasant, though The One With The Red Stripe made several high pitched sounds at this.
They did not spend a lot of time at this new place before going to an even newer place. But The One Who Feeds did not leave for so long anymore, and even when it did, it was always with The One With The Red Stripe, and Kovacs trusted it to bring The One Who Feeds back every time. And it always did.
The One Who Feeds had changed. It wore different coverings, and the fur on its face got shorter. Sometimes it would make unpleasant sounds and shake as it petted Kovacs’ shell, and Kovacs didn’t know why.
But there was a new Box (bigger now!) and plenty of cabbage and water and bedding, and there was a new ritual.
Well, it wasn’t so much like a ritual anymore. Every time the light appeared it was slightly new—before, Kovacs could have listed events perfectly. Now it wasn’t always The One Who Feeds who fed him—sometimes it was The One With The Red Stripe. The creatures didn’t always leave after feeding Kovacs and The Hairy One. They made all sorts of sounds, and saw all sorts of things on the new Noises And Lights Box. And now, when The One Who Feeds sat down at the new Black And White Thing and made sounds, more often than not The One With The Red Stripe would lean on the Black And White Thing as the sounds ended, and The One Who Feeds would look up, and start making the sounds again.
So Kovacs was content.

(I am just meming) Angela *on headset*: Wow Mr. Kovacs, you're handling the physical part of this a lot better than Trevor ever did! Is that just the medicine, or...? Kovacs: Thirty minutes of calisthenics a day, every day! Angela: See Trevor, Kovacs exercises regularly! What's your excuse? Kovacs *has no idea she's talking to someone in-person and not him*: ??? (Kovacs strikes me as the kind of guy who exercises regularly for his health so he's actually pretty fit for a guy his age)
Or Kovacs has everyone he wants their help with his plans coming to a strange mansion Clue movie style and everyone, including Angela and Trevor being two of the guest, is shocked that he’s alive. Thus, leading to this conversation. If exercising helped him stay alive, good for him!

HATS! ~ Part 1
The Headwear of “I Love Lucy”
Tumblr media
During the 1950′s hats were a standard wardrobe item for men and women. They combined form, function, and fashion. Here’s a look at some of the amazing hats that graced the heads of “I Love Lucy.”
Tumblr media
Right from the start, Lucille Ball made hats comedy by wearing a lampshade on her head to transform herself into a Ziegfeld Girl. The same moment was later recreated on the series itself.
Tumblr media
For Lucy, nothing was worth than shopping with no money to spend!  Mrs. Mumford wasn’t shy about tempting Lucy into buying a new hat.
Tumblr media
Lucy went to great lengths to conceal the price tag of her new hats from budget-conscious Ricky!  Gulp!
Tumblr media
When Lucy noticed Ricky wearing his hat to breakfast (to hide his receding hairline), she fought topper with topper!
LUCY: “It’s like having breakfast in a beanery!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A good hat could be used time and again!  This jacket was seen with and without its fur collar - from New York, to London, to Paris - fashion capitols of the world!
Tumblr media
Lucy got comic mileage out of crushing a straw hat, as she did here with Maurice Chevalier, and earlier with Ricky’s Uncle Alberto in Cuba.
Tumblr media
Sometimes a hat can be more than just a wardrobe item, but an important prop!
MY TOP TEN TOPPERS of I LOVE LUCY

Poor Things (Movie Review) | Yorgos Lanthimos' Cinematic Exploration of Alistair Gray
Got to see @PoorThingsFilm by Yorgos Lanthimos and it's daring, awkwardly gorgeous with a unique atmosphere. Emma Stone & Ramy Youssef's chemistry is great. #PoorThings #FilmReview #BookToFilm 🎬
This is my first Yorgos Lanthimos film, he’s known for his unique and often eccentric filmmaking style that I’ve just experienced with this daring and intriguing film. Here, he takes on the challenge of adapting Alasdair Gray’s Poor Things to the silver screen with Tony McNamara and has gathered quite the cast for it that includes Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef (Ramy), Mark Ruffalo,…

bones sexuality headcanons
yeah i dont have proof (except angela) i just Know. call it my lesbian spidey senses. disclaimer that those are MY headcanons, you can have your own opinions on those ofc
main characters:
brennan: bi (preference for ugly men... but i digress). she probably started exploring her sexual orientiation in college and came to the conclusion that she's attracted to every gender to varying degrees. she's probably tongue kissed angela a few times pre season 1
booth: cishet ally! ⭐️ he's a bit confused but he's got the spirit, i'll give him that.. bi wife energy start playing whenever he walks into the room
zack: gayboi with a bad case of hero worship for dr brennan. naomi from paleonthology made him realise this isnt really what he'd like to excavate, if you get the gist... ;) (ew)
angela: imo? bi, but it's up to anyone. canon queer and i'm very happy about it
hodgins: bi. putting my foot down on this one- to me, hodgela is bi4bi. one day early into the series angela goes "why is everyone so hot... being bi is so hard" and hodgins is like "yeah, tell me about it" and they have a Oh, You Too? moment
cam: distinguished (ex-disaster) pan. she's all cool and collected now but in middle school she was probably stuttering whenever she saw a pretty girl
sweets: pan. boykisser. i just KNOW. that man is not heterosexual. probably had a few boyfriends in high school too
aubrey: bi? preference for women but in an alternate universe he and sweets are a thing
goodman: token straightie along with booth except i actually like him even tho even tho he took a 2 month sabbatical and never came back
squinterns:
clark: bi. a bit repressed and only realised it after breaking up with nora but as long as he gets there it's fine
daisy: pan. absolute girlkisser. she has the wlw equivalent of whatever zack felt for dr brennan. swaisy is a disaster pan couple.
fisher: pan- and i wont have it any other way. he was 100% checking sweets out when he came over to b&b's in s8, so i like to think when hodgins asks sweets "what is it with you and interns?" in 9x23 he's including fisher
wendell: bi and in a lab au he's dating vincent thank you
vincent: english twink and i think he and wendell should kiss in the lab lost & found
arastoo: straightie but we still love him. pan wife energy since he and cam are married
finn: god, i have No Idea but i have a feeling he doesn't either
wells: aro, and maybe ace too, but fyi even if he wasn't no one would want him
jessica: ... i used to say lesbian but i kinda let the jaubrey of it all get to me... pan vibes perhaps? i'll have to think it over. in another universe she and daisy are a thing too btw
other characters:
caroline julian:... lesbian. no i will not give an explanation for this one. sham marriage and all.
karen delfs: big pansexual energy coming from this random profiler?? i like her
villains: (do not take those seriously, but also...)
pelant: unlabeled. getting strangled by hodgins awoke something in him but he didnt have the time to figure it out between 8x01 and 9x04
taffet: very VERY mean lesbian
epps: heterosexual incel
broadsky: internalised homophobia over booth, clearly
kovac: the man pretended to be married to his sister. i'm not sure i even wanna know

Who had the best acting? Who had the most emotions that you got affected by? Was it someone Who struggled to show emotions?
Tuva and Peter for sure! Tuva is obviously the lead but they both have great scenes and they very great, both together and separately. They have some really nice scenes together. Especially in the more dramatic and thrilling scenes.
I've only seen Peter in a villain role before so this was super fun. His role as a dad that loves his children was a stark contrast to what I've seen before.
Another minor role I really loved was Angela Kovacs, her role was small but wow one of her scenes was one of the best.
Felicia was okay. A bit up an down but not bad. A few really intense scenes were really great but some I can't decide of they were bad or good.
Edvin didn't have as much screentime of course and it's not his strongest performance. To be fair he didn't have as much to work with since Simon is the least explored character and we don't see him alot. We hear people talk about him instead.
I think he was good in his scenes but they didn't blow me away as they have had before. The climax was very emotional and alot of things happened. I wish I could go back to focus more on him solely.
He nailed some scenes though!

Imagining Walton hiring Kovacs as just a tech guy at first, but then he overhears him singing little mnemonic songs he made up to himself while he works. He also sees him chatting and answering the questions of any kids that are around (kids of employees? touring the studio? idk), being so gentle with them, explaining things in simple terms they can understand, just being a natural educator with dad vibes through the roof... and the lightbulb goes off and Architects of Tomorrow is born. (1/2)
Tumblr media
Omg this is so good...
I initially imagined that Arpad Kovacs and Elijah Walton were friends from before Walton Pictures was founded, and Kovacs joined in as Walton wanted his help and he kinda became his right-hand man. But I can totally see Architects of Tomorrow being something that came out as Walton's idea as he watched on how Kovacs was friendly with kids and eager to teaching them. Ends up Kovacs really enjoyed working with the program and definetely wouldn't have thought about it if it wasn't for Walton.
And about the new Architects of Tomorrow show... Before I go on and say what I wanted to say I did remember while I was writing that there IS indeed an Architects of Tomorrow reboot, and the name is Architects of Today! It premiered in 2016, and Angela talks about it on the game and mentions working there before it got affected by the big shutdown in 2018. But there isn't any information of how the show was or anything else.
But putting that aside, what I was originally going to say about a new Architects of Tomorrow: Yes LMAO, the show likely wouldn't have the same essence because they probably wouldn't teach the kids how things work out and would only show experiments that could catch a child's eye, like modern cartoons that are 80% random funny stuff happening with no lessons taught by the end of every episode.

American arcadia au where everythings mostly the same except Angela helps Trevor by working at arcadia in person as an npc. Trying to reveal the truth to him without being spotted by walton media.
She starts working at INAC and trevor gets increasingly confused by this one random coworker who keeps trying to talk to him over the course of 2 weeks. She gets increasingly blunt about going out somewhere, somewhere private where there "wont be as much people" (so that she can talk to him about arcadia being a lie) but trevor just thinks this one coworker is just. Really into him for some reason?? Has been trying to work out a polite way to reject her for a couple weeks
Meanwhile angela is suffering cause trevor literally never goes out unless its for work, and all her attempts at talking to him dont work. He just doesnt wanna talk in private and she can never get a chance to speak to him without getting brushed off.
This eventually culminates in trevor being called over for the travel grant before angela chases him down into the elevator and basically blurts out the whole "im an npc and arcadia is a lie we need to leave" spiel to a very confused trevor
Rest of the plot is mostly normal? For parts where they need technology either angela uses her phone to hack into stuff or they get 'kovacs' to act as a guy in the chair

This is an absolutely off the wall AU but I was listening to the Spirited Away soundtrack and started wondering what would happen if I shoved my darling blorbos into a similar plot and here we are.
So I figure the premise would be Trevor moving a fair distance for work—the company he works for (probably something pretty similar to INAC) has opened a new headquarters somewhere and is relocating a significant number of its’ staff. Trevor, not having much to tie him down to his previous home, is pretty ambivalent towards uprooting himself to go somewhere else.
He’s giving his work friend Gus a ride to Gus’ new apartment (idk why Gus doesn’t have his own car, I just need someone to function as the same catalyst that Chihiro’s parents were because tbh I can see no way that Trevor would enter a creepy abandoned theme park of his own volition and Gus seems to fit the bill pretty well). Gus is helping Trevor navigate with a big ol’ road atlas and he’s doing a pretty good job of it up until he misreads the atlas and accidentally sends them up a remote country lane. Just like the movie, they wind up in front of a crumbling facade—the entrance to an abandoned theme park. Trevor is immediately ready to turn around and try to recalculate their route, but Gus is tired of driving and lobbies to take the opportunity to stretch their legs. Trevor isn’t so sure—something feels off to him—but Gus announces that he’s going to go explore with or without him and there’s no way Trevor’s going to let him go in there *alone.* So he grabs Kovacs, because he doesn’t know how long they’re gonna be out and he doesn’t want to leave his beloved turtle alone in the car, and reluctantly follows Gus inside.
They have a look around, but it starts getting dark and Trevor is more than ready to head back. Gus says he can smell food and wants to find out what it is. Now beginning to feel that something is seriously amiss, Trevor argues that whatever food they find here probably won’t be that great because the place is abandoned, to which Gus teasingly responds that maybe if Trevor had stopped at that McDonald’s he’d pointed out an hour back instead of forging on, he wouldn’t be forced to take such extreme measures. Naturally, they find the spirit restaurant and Gus tucks in. Trevor, seriously spooked, wanders off to wait for Gus with Kovacs. Then the spirits start coming out. Trevor freaks out, rushes back to find Gus and get the hell out of there, and promptly finds that Gus has been transformed into an animal (I’m not sure which kind—it feels sort of mean to turn him into a pig but maybe that’s just me). Trevor attempts to go back only to find a massive ocean has appeared where the exit once was. So all in all Trevor is having a bad time of it. Enter Angela!
She guides Trevor into a secluded spot away from the chaos of the emerging spirits and explains that the theme park is actually a theatre meant to entertain the residents of the Spirit Realm, run by the witch Vivian. Angela herself is a permanent employee of the theatre, as she can no longer remember her true name and is thus eternally at Vivian’s service. Trevor is terribly confused about everything and still quite frightened, but Angela manages to get through to him that the only way to remain safe here is to secure employment under Vivian, and Trevor decides to trust her. She sends him to seek out her colleague Gene, who might have work for Trevor or otherwise be able to help him get a meeting with Vivian. Trevor sets off with Kovacs in hand, determined to at least try his best to get out of this insane situation.
Gene has no work for Trevor to do, and instead guides him through the Theatre to have an audience with Vivian. Initially insulting Trevor by stating he’s too boring and untalented to be part of any of the actual performances, Vivian assigns him work as a stagehand in exchange for his name, which she replaces with the number 10-3-92.
That’s all I’ve got so far. I know Angela probably spends most of the plot trying to thwart Vivian and find a way to get Trevor back to the human world, but I haven’t thought up all the details of how that works out yet. Does Vivian have some kind of master plot here like in the original game? I have no idea. Possibly Angela decides to leave with Trevor after he helps her remember her real name (which I figured in this AU would be Àngela Guardiana)? Idk there’s a lot of loose ends here I just had to get the brainworm out.
