One thing about me is that I will ALWAYS fuck with baked potato soup. I just made some over the weekend, in fact. God tier soup imho.
OKAY well you already know my favorite tragedy hehe :) Hamlet will always have a special place in my heart!
As for comedy, I gotta give it to Much Ado About Nothing just based on the amount of pure one-line zingers packed into that one (although The Taming of the Shrew is a close second— we love a difficult problem play!)
I really need to get more into the Histories because when they're staged I always end up enjoying them, but I've never read any history plays because they intimidate me LOL so out of the ones I've seen, I really enjoyed Henry V!

Such a cool topic! Yeah the old italian problem I assume applies to nearly all european national dishes (we didn’t have potatoes once upon a time??). I think basically all the ‘classic’ welsh dishes are post-medieval.
The 14th c diet would have been v similar to mid/southern English, excluding influence of more hills and sheep farming (already big by 14th c), so you can really look around widely. Obviously it would have been super difficult without some sort of grain finding its way into your bowl. For those living a settled life, gruel was defintely the default (as in Poland or anywhere in Europe I assume).
Local texture I can add is walking up a local mountain/hill, the Blorenge (rhymes with Orange!!!!), with my father and collecting what we’d call wimberries (commonly: bilberry, in Welsh: lluen). These aren’t grown commerically and were v likely there in 14th c. Tiny, blue, and tasty in a grassy way.
Today’s ‘welsh cakes’ are clearly products of a later age, but the idea of cooking things on a large slab of slate/stone/etc called ‘bakestones’ (‘bake stones’ are confusingly something else) is something that we could reasonably imagine being v old. Probably something like an oatcake was the proto-welsh cake. The bakestone itself might be a fun weapon in a pinch for dnd.
So yeah, a bilberry oatcake baked on a stone. An authentic treat from South Wales 14th c, maybe.
I've never used hogweed in cooking! What would you reccomend? Oh but yeah we do have shit tons of garlic, as in most of Europe. The local castle, Castell Coch, (a weird and cool 19th c pseudo-medieval build today, but was around in 14th c too), is just surrounded absolutely everywhere by the smell of wild garlic. I use the leaves in a stir-fry instead of spinach.

And to be honest i have also never used it myself jdbdjf i just have a very hazy memory of my grandma collecting and drying it in the kitchen but i have no idea what for :'3. But ive seen it in some foraging videos now and apparently you can pickle the leaves and also use em as greens in soups ect, also spinach like... and i made a mistake as well, giant hogweed was indeed imported only in the 19th century but common hogweed is native to europe and is actually where the name for one of my favourite soups "barszcz" comes from... it was originally made from that plant i had no idea :0c bc nowdays its commonly made with beets...

winter soup (this is just what my family calls it bc we only make it in winter LOL i don't remember the actual name?? but it's a soup/stew with sausage/potatoes/tomatoes/kidney beans/corn/onions/green peppers/lots of spices, it's v good, i love it very much)
spaghetti (i like noodles, i love pastaaaaa)
pecan chicken (again, just what we call it LOL but it's chicken breasts covered in a parmesan cheese/pecan/spice mixture and then either fried or baked and it's soooo gooooood)

i should not be making this post i should be going to bed but i WANT to make this post, so.
cute outfit today ofc!!!
not quite with my outfit but i got my sister to give me bubble braids this evening and they are super cute <3 the rubber bands she used are old rainbow loom ones though so like half a dozen have already popped as;dkjfas;dfj it's still brought me joy even if it doesn't last through the morning, though :D
got my laundry done!!
also sent some emails that i needed to send
i've been working on making some slippers and i think i'm getting close to like. hitting a milestone in my progress? like it's not quite finishing one but it's kinda close to finishing one
did some dishes to be productive n stuff asldknfasd
cleaned my room a bit!!! part of that was intentional but then i also had to quickly make some room bc
my dad got me a beanbag (which i've been wanting)!! and it's bonkers huge a;sdlkfjaskdnas;df it made me laugh SO hard, genuinely started wheezing and took my inhaler just to be safe
like i sent pictures to my friends crying laughing about it and one of them was like "that's not a beanbag that's a table" if that gives you a sense of scale as;lkdfjasd another one was like "you could just get rid of your bed and use that"
its comically hugeness is unfortunately too big for my small room but it has sparked a lot of joy asldknfs;lekafda
also speaking of my friends then i hung out in vc with max for a good few hours listening to music :-]
also i got to watch AT with mikey!!! it ended up starting a couple hours later than usual so i'm real glad that we actually got to hang out <3
went and got smoothies with my sister!!! the drive was actually kind of anxiety inducing but i got a smoothie out of it soooo
we had baked potatoes and soup for dinner !

absolute highlight of my day i got to vc with martin for like half an hour :DDD
it was SO good and fun and i love chitter so much :DDD delightful <3333
got my hw done so i will not have to stress about it tomorrow!!
also when we were supposed to be getting hw done then me and a couple of my friends had a wildly off topic discussion alkjfs;ldkf it was fun though
and!!!! i got to see my friend who i don't have any classes with!!!! we hung out a little bit it was great!!!!
worked on my collage!!! it was so fun and it's almost done y'all :D
had some carrotcake
some yummy bread (which i have more of for tomorrow 👀) and baked lays
