Do you know the lucemond fan trope where aemond is insisting on then making babies till they get a black haired/luke copy, does bfb aemond that too or does not care if luke will probably give birth to atleast one black haired baby

I keep coming back to this question myself and I still don't have a set answer.

Probably because I don't actually have all that many thoughts about their kids. So a lot of them are just nebulous child-shapes and I don't know which hair colour they got (I only know the eldest is Targ silver but even that I keep questioning if I should have gone the other way but I kind of like him blending in with the other older Targ kids).

I think he goes into the relationship with an acceptance that there is a chance they will end up with a dark haired kid. However, at that stage I do think he hopes the dark hair genes hold off for their heir and spare (and then they're were going to be done).

Which means whether he starts wanting one of their kids to inherit Luke's dark hair depends on how many kids don't. Because it's not until they'd get to like silver-haired kid #4 or 5 that he'd start getting the "but actually I want one to look like Luke :(" thoughts. So if Viserys (their second born) got dark hair (which I kind of lean towards for the inverse to eldest Laenor - he sticks out easily when with the older kids) then he's gotten the dark-haired kid before he's started wanting it.

On a side note I think at least one of their kids gets Alicent's more auburn dark hair, whether they are born with it or their hair lightens/darkens to it as they get older I don't know. Because fuck it she deserves at least one of her grandkids to get her hair.

I just read the lastest chapter of Blood for Blodo and what the hell!? Did Corlys have plans for one of the Hull boys to marry Luke??? Was he planning on arranging an accident to happen to Aemond? Is that why he died!?

I don't necessarily think he was planning for an accident to intentionally happen to Aemond but rather he was building a contingency plan in the case that something does happen to Aemond.

There's three factors Corlys is very aware of 1. He's an old man who probably doesn't have that much longer 2. While Luke is doing well at earning respect in his own right, as an omega sitting on a volatile seat having an (powerful) alpha mate makes him look less like an easy target 3. Aemond really loves war and, even with a dragon, war has a very real risk of dying.

Corlys is trying to set it up that if after he dies Aemond dies shortly after there's another option for Luke who Luke already knows and trusts (and who isn't going to try and oust authority from him).

Also he's trying to raise the position of the boys while he's still alive to do it. And use them a bit to fill the skill gap that Luke-Aemond have (sailing).

And, okay, look, I don't think he would exactly be disappointed if Aemond were to manage to get himself killed and Luke did then marry one of the Hull brothers. But he's not actively trying to arrange for that to happen.

Aemond very quickly cottons onto this being the plan (like immediately). And so I do think he sees them a bit as a challenge. But he is aware of two things 1. If he does try and remove these challenges he's asking for retaliation and therefore only putting Helaena and her children at risk 2. If he does happen to die while his and Luke's children are young it would be useful for Luke to have these two alphas backing him up.

It's a situation he has to tolerate. And he hates it. But it also gives him a really powerful motivator to not die.

Corlys dies of old age peacefully.

re-read Blood for Blood after finally getting around to the CFB mini in my comics reading and I just wanted to drop some bonus kudos in your inbox! I really liked the urgency and helplessness Helena experiences without the Huntress as a method of getting out of that helplessness.

The central idea of Blood for Blood for me was this slow building of pressure and what Helena would do without having the Huntress as a release for that. And of course the poisoned wine, that was the other core image :)
