Top ten reasons why Batman doesn't hug his children (after patrol specifically): they stink as hell.

Because how could you run the whole night, fight with crimes, fall in some shit and still smell like flowers? It's not mathematically possible.

I, personally, also don't think that they take shower regularly. Maybe Dick do, but he is the only hope in this family, I'm not sure about hygiene in circus, but as performer he should be used to smell fine (also Barbara would kick his ass, if he didn't shower every day). Jason was raised on the street, he is not used to shower regularly, he probably did when he lived in the mansion but now he couldn't care less, he has more important stuff to do, like being a crime lord. Tim was raised by himself basically, so I don't think he goes to shower until it's absolutely necessary (his skin is itching and the oil on his hair is enough to cook fries), he has more important stuff to do, like solving cases (and stalking batman and robin earlier). Damian is a child, so he doesn't stink as much as his brothers (hormones, you know) but Bruce is scared of the day his baby grow up, because Damian was raised around Lazarus pit and the smell of dead meat, this boy is immune to any bad smell, his own too, and, of course, he has more important stuff to do, like training and preparing to be next batman.

Bruce loves his stinky kids for infinity, but they are still stinky. And he can't say it to them because he knows his children and if he tells them to do something, they will do the opposite (heavily looks at Jason). So he just suffers in silence.
