celebrity crush

summary: you make your debut on the tonight show with jimmy fallon to promote a movie and end up spilling the beans about your celeb crush.

pairing: percy hynes white x actress!reader

when you were finally asked to be on the tonight show, there was no way you were passing that up. since you had just finished filming the barbie movie, your stylist decided to put you in a dress from valentino’s hot pink collection. the dress was long sleeved, laid off the shoulders and had lots of rhinestones all around. paired with the matching hot pink stockings and platform heels. you felt like this was the best outfit your stylist ever put together but you tend to say that about every outfit.

“now welcoming the lovely and talented y/n!” as you walked from behind the curtains, you waved to the audience with a bright smile. you quickly give jimmy a hug and sit down on the chair.

“hello hello hello!”

“y/n, so how have you been? you recently finished filming the barbie movie, right?” the screams that the audience did made you chuckle while nodding your head.

“i’ve been good jimmy just hanging out at home with my cat. but yes, i did finish filming the barbie movie and i’m so excited for you guys to see it!”

“what was it like? where you nervous at all?”

“it was so amazing and the cast is genuinely so sweet. i definitely was a little nervous being that i’m one of the youngest out of the adults but everyone just made me feel so comfortable.”

“i love that! now, we don’t know much about you but is there anything you care to share with us tonight?” you take a sip of your water glass before you started talking again. you needed a moment to think about what to say quickly.

“i tend to keep most of my life private because i’m just naturally a shy little bean about somethings,” you, jimmy and the audience share a laugh.

“but in all seriousness i’m just like you guys,” you pointed to the audience. “i have celebrity crushes and over fantasize about things that make me happy. i even named my black cat loki because i really enjoy marvel movies and stuff like that.” you could hear the audience clapping and it made you smile to yourself.

“so the celebrity crushes, who is it?” jimmy leaned on his arms that rested on the desk with his head in his hands. immediately you hide your face into the palm of your hands.

“ah jimmy i can’t say that. there’s too many to count!”

“okay, just tell us one of them. who have you been recently crushing on?” you uncover your face and let out a loud playful sigh.

“you guys know the show wednesday, right?” the audience screams once again and you nodded your head.

“and you know xavier thorpe in the show?” your smile was getting bigger by the second because of the way the audience just somehow screamed even louder.

“yeah, so i have a crush on percy hynes white. there i said it!” jimmy leaned back in his chair with laughter.

“oh my goodness, you have a crush on percy?”

“yes! i mean who wouldn’t? have you literally seen those gorgeous green eyes or his smile with his dimples,” you dramatically started fanning yourself to get the point across that you really found him attractive.

“that is not who i expected you to say!”

“what can i say? i’m just down bad for that man. i’m so down bad that after watching wednesday, i went and watched some of his other projects.”

“so you’re that down bad?”

“yes jimmy, that down bad. but you guys can’t tell him! i don’t want him to think that i’m weird!” you bit your trying to hide how nervous you were now. jimmy laughs and shakes his head.

“right after this break, we’ll be back with y/n! we have a fun game in store for you guys.” you waved at the camera with a smile before it cut off for break.

it was about two weeks later and you didn’t think of the interview anymore. if you were being honest, you were too engrossed into your book that you started and didn’t even notice how social media was currently blowing up.

“y/n did you look at twitter recently?” sadie sink, your best friend said sitting down next to you on the couch. she had came to visit you since she was also on a work break.

“no why?”

“girl, you caught percy’s attention!” you snapped your head towards her looking away from the tv.

“WHAT?”

“yeah, he went on the tonight show and apparently talked about you!”

“there’s no fucking way. when did this happen?”

“last night.” you quickly pulled up the interview on tv and grabbed sadie’s hand in need of comfort.

“so percy, we recently had y/n on here two weeks ago. did you happen to see what she said?”

“no, i didn’t get a chance to but i know i kept getting dm’s about it.”

“since you haven’t seen it, we’re gonna pull it up on the monitor and watch it together!”

“let’s do this.”

on que the monitor starts playing the previous interview of you rambling about how much you liked percy. when the video ended, jimmy turned his head to a slightly blushing percy.

“so what do you think about that?”

“first of all i’m really honored to her celebrity crush because have you seen her? she’s literally stunning and two, i wouldn’t mind getting to know her.” the audience freaked out even more than they did for your interview with jimmy.

“did we just match make on the tonight show?”

“maybe. just maybe,” percy smiles a little more making his dimple pop right out.

still holding sadie’s hand, you looked at her with your jaw dropped. you couldn’t believe that percy had said that.

“okay wow. check your insta dm’s to see if he messaged you y/n!” you let her hand go and grabbed your phone opening instagram. percy had followed you back and did in fact dm you.

“OH MY GOD SADIE SADIE. HE DM’D ME!”

“well what does it say?” she was excited for you being the main one to hear about the crush you had on him the most.

you hit the send button and internally screamed in your head. within minutes, your phone buzzed on your legs. you and sadie share a look before you picked it up.

sounds great. it’s a date then :) though, can i have your number?

you decided to heart the message and dm your number to him. sitting your phone down once more, you shook sadie’s shoulders in excitement.

“sadie he said it was a date!” she smiles while jumping up and down with you.

“my best friend got a date! my best friend got a dateee!”

now you just had to figure out what to wear.

the day for the date finally came and you were buzzing with excitement. the night before, you did a fashion show for sadie and picked out an outfit. settling on a pair of light washed ripped mom jeans, a white and black oversized sweater and your black nike air max 95’s.

“okay babes, i’ll be here with loki. call me if you need anything,” sadie hugs you and pushed you towards the door.

“i love you sads!” you yell out to her quickly before making sure you had everything in your tote bag and running out the door.

you make your journey on the subway to central park. it wasn’t long but that didn’t stop you from reading your book on the train with some music playing in your ears. once the train stopped at your stop, you got off and went to text percy.

lol same but i’m right at the park entrance!

you looked up from your phone to see the long brown haired boy looking left and right across the street. you quickly began raising your arm in a waving before he found you. the smile that graced his face was truly a sight to see. he jogs over to you and immediately pulls you into a hug.

“hi stranger,” you looked up at him returning the smile he had.

“hi stranger. let’s go take a walk and get some food, yeah?”

“i’m okay with that.” you guys walk into the park and followed the long trail.

“so i hear i’m your celebrity crush,” you laughed while looking down at your shoes.

“yeah, is it weird for you?”

“weird? why would it weird to have a pretty girl say that i’m her celebrity crush?” percy nudged your arm with his. “if anything, i’d say the feeling is mutual now.”

“percy, you can’t be serious.”

“oh i’m absolutely serious. you’re very pretty and talented as hell.” you looked down with a smile on your face again.

“you’re pretty too,” you gaze up at him to see his face with a blush adoring his cheeks.

the two of you continued the walk just talking about any and everything. your arms kept brushing besides each other before you made the move to interlock your hands together. percy didn’t seem to mind it briefly squeezing your hand.

“what we thinking for food percy?”

“burgers and fries?”

“you had me at a burger,” peering up at him with a grin, leading him to subway station entrance for the b train.

“i know this really good burger place but it’s around rockefeller center if that’s okay.”

“i’m down for it. i honestly dread for when the night has to end,” he rubs his thumb over your hand making you look down again. you’ve never felt this connected to someone in such a short amount of time. little did you know percy felt the same way, he was drawn to you and he liked this newfound feeling.

you tugged his hand and walked down the subway entrance stairs. once you both swiped your metro cards, you leaned on his shoulder with your arms around one of his waiting for the train to come. unbeknownst to the both of you, a couple of fans had silently spotted you guys and decided to start taking secret pictures.

the dinner was nice and you had enjoyed his presence. percy even paid for both you and him but you told him the next time that you were paying. he was the perfect gentleman and you knew just from one date that you were definitely going to fall harder than before.

“i had a great time with you percy.” you said while holding hands just like earlier in the day.

“i had a great time with you too. i’m not sure i want to the night to end.” he looks into your eyes with that beautiful dimpled smile. just as you were about to respond, you felt water drops on your head.

“did you feel that?”

“feel what?”

the rain started coming down heavier making you squeal. percy is quick to firmly tighten the hand that was holding yours to run with you to find shade from the rain. once finding shade under a building entrance, you guys were soaked with water head to toe. laughter and heavy breathing was all that was heard from the two of you.

“that’s so cliché!”

“what it raining in the middle of our date?”

“yes percy. it felt like one of those romance movies,” you were looking around watching the rain pour down. percy had turned his attention to you just staring at you thinking about how pretty you looked.

“wanna make it even more cliché?”

“huh?” you turned back to him finding his face dangerously close to yours. when did he even move closer? not that you were complaining.

“can i kiss you y/n?”

“yes.”

he places both of his hands on your cheeks tilting your head upwards pulling you into a kiss. it started off slow then gradually got more intense. your fingers tangled into his wet hair pulling ever so slightly to push him more to you. the kiss was mainly teeth and tongue as you guys desperately consume each other. in that very moment nobody else mattered. just two souls that were drawn towards one another with a kiss that seemed to confirm every feeling even if it was only one day.

“woah, i don’t even know what to say.” your whisper fell upon his lips as his nose nudged yours.

“don’t say anything. just kiss me again.”

Favorite color: I'm a big fan of green

Currently reading: The Left Hand of Darkness, Ursula K. Le Guin. I haven't done as much reading as I'd like to, mostly cause of classes, but what I have been able to read it's very intriguing. What I'm reading in my classes (or at least one of them) is The Sunflower, Simon Wiesenthal, a very poignant story about the Holocaust and an important question about forgiveness.

Last song:

Headbang Waltz, Palko!Muski

I only discovered them recently, but I really like their style and how much energy they bring.

Last movie: Rewatched the Hunger Games, and once again it was great. In theaters I watched the Mario Movie last, and I'm really impressed. It's rare you have celeb voice actors and you DON'T feel like the movie is Jack Black, Chris Pratt, and others talking at you for a couple of hours

Last series: Besides watching the occasional Clone Wars episode for study purposes, I found a place to watch Infinity Train and I'm really impressed. It's a very creative premise executed very well and I would have loved to see more of it (thanks HBO).

Craving: A nice hash. Hashbrowns, sausage, peppers, onions, eggs, mmm. I'm also craving camping, I haven't gone in a while and I just need an escape.

Tea or coffee: tea. I'm not really a fan of coffee and tea just feels so much more calming.

Currently working on: studying for an astronomy final, an astrophotography final project, an essay on forgiveness, studying for a math final, a star wars fic about a clone company I made up for Krell.

if I had a body like Alexandra's, I would be a part-time model too. as you said, let's see if she's going to try to become an influencer like Charlotte tho 👀. but for now, she has already gone public in somehow. also, if the founder of the brand knows her, it may be just a little favor? also she is really hot and as we see, even those who don't like her click on that page to see Alexandra and interact her post. that's a profit. she is a beautiful girl, and we already seen that she has appeared in ads for various projects before. she has even modeled before again. this is not that shocking guys, chill. she's still young, I think she's enjoying her youth and beauty. I don't think revealing your private life or showing up your private stuff to strangers AND presenting your beauty is not the same thing. first of all, it's not the same case, I know! Just get the main idea. there are a lot of female actors who just do their job without making their personal life public. there are many celebs who do not have an instagram account

Something i once thought about worlds in videogames is how much are they about the actual places or the "decoration" and aesthetics.

Like what is Mushroom Kingdom? Is it the specific layout of places like Peach's castle or the aesthetical elements like green pipes, mushrooms, hills with eyes and so on?

Same for Sonic if Green Hill is some specific locations in 3D games or the levels in 2D games.

Doom is an obvious example being a series with so many mods and custom levels: There's the UAC as in specific setpieces in 3 and so on and then the limited levels with textures and assets that don't return in later games.

For 7th gen examples, LittleBigPlanet and Minecraft come to mind, since LBP even tries to make the campaigns feel like they were made with the same tools as custom levels and reward players with assets they can use for their levels.

Minecrat has iconic textures even if they might've been "programmer graphics" at the time (Since there's stories of originally having different player models like a version of Beast Boy and that Rana girl).

When videogames get more graphically advanced, they get to have more specific worlds, so "themes" aren't much of a thing then.

It's also a way to look at real countries that you haven't been on (Or fully visited) and wonder about places that could exist there because of their cultures and architecture.

This is probably why people hate modern architecture because even if it's more practical, it doesn't have the same personality or style.

I wonder about "themes" being a thing in other mediums too and if this is affected when a lot of aesthetics in various media can overlap (Partially because of artists chasing trends but also with how many pieces of media can exist in the first place).

Maybe some essay e-celeb will make a video about this but part of why i wrote this is because of my game (Project Nortubel) and as of writing this, i'm working on level tilesets and props to suit the theme of Nortubel as a world.

I'm gonna have to choose which assets to add in and how they're going to be used.

This can also apply to fanbases and when people have a "dollhouse" mentallity with not just characters (Be it ships, "comfy AU's", power levels or army/faction analysis) but other aspects of a series' setting.

"It used to be said 'you can sleep when you're dead', but we ask, why wait? At NeKrO we offer you an unrivalled opportunity: seven years competitive salary, no strings attached, to enjoy in the prime of your life. In return? Seven years employment with NeKrO after your natural passing."

The advert was projected over Price Square on repeat every quarter hour. Once per hour with audio. They targeted day-workers who lived hand-to-mouth, for whom the promise of seven years salary in a lump sum was too good to pass up. Each day, Jun saw fewer and fewer people on the street corners or doorways. The noodle bars emptied, and the restaurants filled.

"NeKrO uses pioneering synapsogenesis to keep your body going after you've gone. Let your soul rest easy while the rest of you puts in the work."

The newscasts heralded the meteoric rise of NeKrO's stock and its CEO, whose beguiling smile beamed out from every screen and billboard. Daytime streamers interviewed company representatives, plugged sponsorships. Money saturated the downtown and it seemed every apartment was either selling up for wealthier neighbourhoods or sporting the latest tech kitchens and furniture.

"NeKrO operatives already fulfil many vital functions in today's busy society, from maintenance and retail service to computational wetware and synthories."

No one enjoyed this much success without controversy. Jun glimpsed the whistleblowers' reports before they were scrubbed from the feeds. Saw the takedowns from embittered once-celebs whose fifteen minutes were up long ago. Yet the line kept going up. Shop staff were replaced by masked, uniformed, straight-backed bodies that differed only in height and build. Their voices, digital and identical, spoke in carefully calculated tones designed to soothe, reassure, and let the customer know they were important. Only the slight scent of decay, lingering in the filtered air, reminded you that these were corpses.

"Chat with one our team today to learn how much you could earn with us. NeKrO: your time, your way."

It wasn't just the high-end shops. Even the repair bars and vendors were soon more dead than living. At Jun's favourite late-night haunt, the talented chef had been swapped for robotic, stiff-armed line cooks. The food had lost its spark. Strips of fly paper hung discreetly near the doors to the kitchen.

Then came the inevitable call. A pre-recorded message from a sharp-suited, smooth-faced executive delivered a pre-determined verdict.

"We're letting you go."

Who could compete with the dead? They didn't ask for raises. They didn't need breaks. They could be hired from NeKrO's vast 'mausoleums' for a fraction of Jun's wages. The severance pay was pitiful, besides.

Reluctantly, Jun dialled the number that everyone had memorised. A voice like syrup on the other end of the line talked her through the process and mailed over the appropriate papers. Seven years, up-front. A bottle of gin later, she had signed, stamped and ratified every last one. Digits followed by an alarming amount of zeroes appeared in her account the very same moment.

Now she sat at a fancy table in a fancy restaurant with the rest of them, picking at food she could barely pronounce with the wrong utensil and listening to the excited conversations around her. Holidays of a lifetime, plans to start a family, excited entrepreneurs who could finally afford their own place. The energy would be infectious, if Jun had any plans of her own.

After paying a bill she didn't need to look at, she leant against the outside wall and chewed on a tablet. A little down the street she saw one of her fellow diners who'd signed the dotted line a month prior. He was stumbling and swaying, leaning on the lamppost and loudly crowing his success between nearly losing his seven course meal. A grey and green van pulled up silently alongside him and four masked, uniformed, straight-backed bodies exited. Two of them grabbed the man's arms, and before could protest, the third jabbed him in the throat with a thick needle. He quickly went limp in their grip and was ushered into the waiting vehicle.

The fourth stood by observing the proceedings and taking notes on a pad. As the others disappeared into the van with their new 'colleague', it looked down the street directly at Jun. She felt a shiver crawl down her spine, like someone had just stepped on her grave.

what i find interesting about the whole hamza phenomenon on twt is the insistence on him not being a nepo kid even though he himself has admitted to how his connections have been helpful. like he got the raqeeb se gig bc he was interested in tv production and asked kashif nisar if he could work as an assistant, only for nisar to ask him to audition and subsequently offer him the role. not just anyone can walk up to kashif nisar and even ask that initial question. there was a foundation there that hamza was able to capitalize on, and then it resulted in even more success than he expected. and he's clearly grateful for that opportunity so i'm not sure why people want to obscure his attitude about it. it's good he's humble and understands his privileges, it's good he's trying to take it a little at a time and work his way up to the stronger roles. no need to project the babygirl image onto him when what he is is an accountable adult clearly passionate about this line of work and willing to put in the effort to succeed at it bc he's lucky to have access to certain opportunities (something i comparatively don't notice in people like zaviyar, for example, who seems to more or less cruise on opportunities rather than actually value them lol)

Yeah I do see his privilege being very deliberately wrapped in a package of struggle by his fandom. the narrative about how he didn't immediately get a lead in Kashif Nisar show and how he had to "audition" and he started as "supporting actor" is passed off as his struggle when, like you said, just him being able to go up to Kashif Nisar to ask to be on his set already put him leagues ahead of contemporaries who actually struggled to get in the building in the first place.

Being a nepo kid and being untalented are not two mutually exclusive things. he seems like a decent lad. he's aware of the privilege that he has (according to what his fandom says) and he is well-spoken. that's good. nothing wrong with that. but I do feel his fandom tries to make up for his privileged background a LOT by projecting an image to him that's quite far from the truth imo. like how the fandom vehemently tried to keep his old private posts private when some pictures of him smoking? doing sheesha? something like that came out..because those pictures didn't necessarily align with the "babygirl" image they have going on for him (the same people had no issues cooing over the "non-problematic" pictures). and how they are now busy calling out people who post about his very expensive wardrobe choices because it puts in light just how loaded his bank account actually is because..again..it doesn't align with the "struggling" image they have going on for him (whereas fanpages dissecting any celeb's looks is a fairly common practice in fandoms across the board now and is not a "hate" campaign like some of Hamza's fans would like to believe).

He IS a nepo kid. He IS privileged. that's just facts. he got a headstart in the industry because of his father's name. he/his fans can try to wrap it all up by saying "oh no his father didn't help him at all~" all they want but the reality of this country is that the father's name on the identity card opens huge doors for you. i don't think anyone in the industry in their right mind would've seen son of Sohail Ahmed come up to them and treat him with anything but their full attention. like..how is this up for any discussion or confusion??? do people not know how this country works in terms of having connections???

Imho, it's the fans who want his image to be completely disassociated from his privileged background more than Hamza himself. there's always this stigma around stanning nepo kids of the industry. also with two other nepo kids being Hamza's contemporaries and them so clearly benefiting from their last names..yeah I can see why the fans are extra defensive. then there's this thing of Hamza's claim to fame being a "green flag" character which acc to his fandom is so fucking rare in dramas ke usse pehle toh kabhi koi itna acha huaaa hi nahin dramas mein and how they take stanning Hamza's character in FT as a thing of pride..they don't want anything to stain Hamza's perfect offscreen image lest it ends up affecting his character onscreen. i also have this theory that the last nepo kid that the fans hailed as a great addition to the industry despite his privilege was Ahad Raza Mir and how he basically ended up using his stint in PakDramas as embellishments on his CV to pursue international work which he was always more interested..that has cautioned the fans from being too trust worthy of talented nepo kids. but ab Hamza pe dil aa gaya hai aur woh utar bhi nahin sakta toh chalo uski image cleaning karte hain and package him as "just a regular guy" like all of us. "yaaar yeh bechara apne abba se maar khata tha..ye toh bilkul meri tarah hai!" they write as captions of his pictures where he is decked head to toe in Gucci.

my two cents no one asked for about the damiano and giorgia split. first paragraphs might sound harsh but i promise the post isn’t.

i don’t honestly believe damiano and giorgia were non-exclusive. not only did they never mention it despite sharing a lot about themselves, but with such an overwhelming social media presence the fact that nothing of that sort (certainly nothing as impossible to misunderstand as that video) has ever emerged before can only make you conclude the open relationship thing doesn’t add up. in fact, they seemed like a pretty committed couple with cats.

i think they agreed to say they were non-excusive so that people would hopefully stop saying mean, humiliating things about giorgia (they aren’t). i see where she in particular came from, i kinda get why she said it and i respect her, i just respectfully don’t buy it.

my guess is they grew apart as he began to spend a huge amount of time abroad, living a completely different life than he would once, and he probably changed over time. we tend to forget how young he is and while their age gap is really minimum it can make a lot of difference between young adults. love can naturally fade or evolve into platonic affection at certain stages in someone’s lives, let alone in one’s 20s. again, my guess, but i think they broke up in a probably not ideal, but peaceful, way, and he might not have told her he was attracted to someone else, someone she and the whole band knew on top of that. that explains her being hurt enough to unfollow (maybe block?) everyone involved.

where i draw the line is at the idea that he’s always cheated and yada yada, a theory many in italy seem to share (especially among the cynical and gen xers, who project the ethics of old rockstars on the new).

i absolutely think damiano has been smitten for a long time. coraline alone would suffice to prove that, and when he cried performing it at sanremo he confirmed both to a journalist and by liking a particular tweet that he got emotional because the song is about her. even with the band’s latest album, when asked which songs in it were his favourites he mentioned the two (one is timezone, i forget the other one because tbh i didn’t listen to rush a lot) that were pretty clearly about her or at the very least inspired by their relationship. such professions of love were never super showy and “out there”, he wouldn’t go around dropping her name and releasing statements about their relationship like celebrities do one week before they get into the worst divorce ever, and i think the subtlelty of it all is testament to how genuine his feelings were.

their posts on social media were similarly discrete except in rare occasions, which is always a green flag of a steady, healthy relationship (again, think of influencers and celebs who are posting about their love lives all the time right before they split horribly). this makes even more sense to me when i consider that giorgia tended to post a bit more, since i personally think she’s more insecure than he is, but overall they posted like a solid team and not like a couple that’s desperately trying to persuade you of how happy they are.

plus, as someone who's been through STUFF, i think additional proof of his strong feelings for her is the fact that he stuck with her in sickness and in health for years at such a young age. this might sound like i’m praising a man for doing the bare minimum but again, i’ve been in a somewhat similar place as giorgia i can’t elaborate about without oversharing and i can promise not every young man will have it in himself to support you and endure some things with you no matter what, and for so long.

Dancing with the Stars Season 31 Week 1: Same Show, Different Platform

Hey everyone! We are back for season 31 on Disney+. We have Conrad Green back as executive producer and Tyra has a new cohost, Alfonso!. Judges are still the same, but they never change. Now a lot of you have been asking my for some thoughts about all of the changes. I guess I'll start out by addressing those. That seems to be appropriate. Let's start with Conrad.

I cannot believe that I'm saying this, but it's nice to have him back. It's nice to hear the full name of both the pro and the celeb. I'm feel the energy of the show has shifted back to what it once was. It was going down a weird path for awhile and Monday night felt familiar and comforting. I love the intro pose before the dance. It's a modernized version of what they used to do back in the day and I missed that so much. I do wish he could've brought the stairs back, but we can't have it all.

For the hosts, I think Tyra and Alfonso were fantastic together. They already know each other and have worked together in the past (Fresh Prince), so it wasn't awkward for them to bounce off of one another. As someone said, Tyra seemed to be a lot more relaxed now that she didn't have to shoulder the responsibility of hosting the entire show. And Alfonso is just a natural. There were a few issues but that was backroom stuff and I'll talk about that a little later.

I enjoyed the troupe dancing. It was a nice and welcome break from the main events of the show.

Now, I think we have to talk about the lack of commercials. The reason that I am so late getting this up is because so much happened in 2 hours with no break that I was kinda over DWTS for the night. Tyra and Alfonso did well, but that was a marathon for them. They literally had no chance to just sit and breathe. At least commercials give some reprieve to the hosts (whether it was Tom, Samantha, Brooke, Erin, Lisa, Tyra or Alfonso). We also saw the control room seemed to mess up a few times with scoring and getting all that updated. Even though they could make that mistake at any time, it is important for them to have that down time so that they can update things to feed to Tyra as the show goes on. I'm not sure how they can rectify this, but something needs to be done to give everyone a breather. The pace of Monday night is not sustainable for an entire season.

And finally, the week 1 elimination. I didn't like it. I think it was the right couple that left, but I wish it had been week 2 or maybe even give us one special results show on Tuesday. Make it a two day premiere. That being said, I liked that Jason and Peta had time to say good-bye and the cast could go hug them and all of that. Okay, now recap time.

Jordin and Brandon- Cha-cha (Score=26)- This was really good. I thought it should've been straight 7s. And upon my second viewing, I was right. It was a very strong week 1 dance and a great way to start the night. Jordin has some really great lines and her technique is actually quite good when she hits everything correctly. I think she was a little uncomfortable. There were moments where it felt like she wasn't quite finishing all the moves right in the middle of the dance. Things started to blend. But nonetheless, a great dance.

Sam and Cheryl- Foxtrot (Score=20)- I thought this dance was fine. It wasn't particularly bad. It wasn't all that great either. It was passable. I feel like the song probably caused them more problems. It didn't lend itself well to the smoothness of a foxtrot. Sam has some potential though. That is the one thing I got from this dance. And based on the other 20s, it probably could've gotten a point or two higher.

Heidi and Artem- Cha-cha (Score=24)- I was surprised at how well Heidi handled this dance. I wasn't really expecting much because I don't know much about her and she's not a celeb celeb. But she did really well. Her legs are really nice. Her arms are pretty good too. I do think she needs to do a better job of projecting when she dances and really hitting her moves harder. I'm starting to realize that Artem has the same issues with his partners that Tony used to have.

Daniel and Britt- Tango (Score=27)- Daniel really shocked me. The confidence that he exuded was kinda hot, not gonna lie. And he handled Britt's choreo really well. His arm kinda gets funky and his legs need some more work. The potential is there and like Jordin, I think he probably should've had straight 7s.

Jessie and Alan- Cha-cha (Score=20)- Well, this dance was a mess. Jessie had basically no technique. Her legs and feet were atrocious. But she knows how to perform and mostly stayed on time. I'm not sure how much potential is there, but we shall see as the season goes on. Alan might make some miracle happen with her. I mean I though Lauren Alaina was a no hoper when she was on.

Teresa and Pasha- Tango (Score=20)- As many of you know, Teresa was one of the people I was excited to see. But this dance was a bit of a let down for me. I could tell she was extremely nervous and dancing definitely doesn't seem to come easy for her. However, I see something there and I want Pasha to tap into it. What she did wasn't bad (other than her frame). It's just what she didn't do. The Housewives fanbase really doesn't translate well to DWTS so I'm not shocked that she ended up in the bottom 2. I think the only Housewife that was pretty much safe up until the week she left was Nene.

Wayne and Witney- Cha-cha (Score=29)- Just as I expected, Wayne was explosive. Witney gave him a great dance and it was so amazing to watch. I do think he needs to clean up some of his technique, but it was great. I'm shocked he didn't get more than one 8. I thought it for sure deserved at least two. I'm really excited for these two. And I don't think I've said this before, but Witney is definitely one of my favorite pros. She's such a star and so good at what she does.

Cheryl and Louis- Cha-cha (Score=21)- First of all, welcome back Louis. Now, Cheryl might've been my biggest surprise of the night. I 100% agreed with CAI. I think she could've handled more than Louis gave her. They played it a bit safe, but she definitely has the goods and she can move. And knowing Louis, I know that's a critique he wants to hear. As for the dance itself, it was good. I wanted more hip action but she really did everything well. I really wanna see her do a ballroom dance. She's got the elegance and lyricism to pull off a gorgeous dance.

Vinny and Koko- Salsa (Score=17)- First, welcome to the show Koko! Now, the judges were way too harsh on them for this dance. Was it great? No. Was it good? No. But, Vinny has potential. I think the dance actually would've been better if Vinny hadn't been so nervous. He forgot things and he kinda got lost. But he performed it well and there were moments when I saw him hit the moves he was supposed to, when he was supposed to. I think a few things need to happen to help these two out. First, I want Koko to simplify the routines from now on. Vinny is not super skilled, so throwing everything into one dance will not work out for him. It's a rookie mistake, so I understand why she did it. Idk if she is doing this next thing, but I'd like for her to take Vinny to the side at least once before they dance, reassure him and calm him down. He was clearly hyped up when they got out there and he needs to come back down to really get these dances down.

Shangela and Gleb- Salsa (Score=28)- Shangela killed this. This was actually my favorite dance of the night. First of all, this is the best Gleb US choreography that I've seen from him. Shangela also really killed this dance. She was fierce. She was confident. She had rhythm and hips. It was a great time. Now, I need them to reign it back in a little bit. It started to get a little wild from time to time and that will create problems in the future. That's my biggest critique.

Trevor and Emma- Quickstep (Score=21)- Interesting dance. They sold it to us like he was going to be one of the worst dancers ever on DWTS. And then it was actually ok. I'm not sure why that was the case. Now it was kind of wild and there were a lot of technical issues. But it wasn't the disaster they were preparing us for. Again, weird.

Gabby and Val- Jive (Score=28)- The judges gushed over this dance and I found that to be very suspicious. Was it good? Yes. But there were a lot of issues. First, she had Bambi legs going on a little bit. And I also thought that her kicks were lacking. They didn't retract the way that they should've. She can dance though. I definitely think she's gonna be good.

Joseph and Daniella- Jive (Score=23)- Joseph killed this dance. Ain't no way I was expecting him to be this good and light on his feet and flexible, considering how muscular he is. Daniella is an amazing teacher and choreographer. Now, his feet were eyesores and there are some other things. But man, this guy is actually someone that could become a contender.

Jason and Peta- Cha-cha (Score=18)- This just wasn't a good dance. And there was nothing that Jason could've done to save it. He's just not a good dancer and that's okay. As soon as I saw him counting out loud, I knew he was gonna be in trouble. That is never a good sign for anyone. He was eliminated though, so we don't have to worry about fixing any of his problems anymore.

Selma and Sasha- Viennese Waltz (Score=28)- This dance was beautiful. It was a true moment. I really loved it and Selma did such a great job with everything. I enjoyed Sasha's choreography. It was good. I do worry about how Latin will be for her, but I feel like her ballroom dances will always be really nice to watch.

Charli and Mark- Cha-cha (Score=32)- Welcome back Mark! This dance was good. Really good. I expected that though. I don't have much to really say though. I liked it and I like Charli more than I thought I would. I would like to tell everyone though to be prepared for a "shocking" elimination involving her. She's young and her fanbase is young. They're usually fickle. Not sure how it's gonna be on Disney+, but you all need to prepare yourselves. She's got "shocking elimination" written all over her and I do not want to sit here and talk about ad nauseum if it does happen. I just want to get that out the way.

So that's it. This took forever to write. I think I'm going to figure out a different way to do this next week. Recapping 15 dances is not fun. This is another reason why I didn't want more than 13 couples in a season. It makes blogging about it a much more tedious task. Let me know you all's thoughts and I will talk to you soon!

👒: which physical traits does your child get from you? which do they get from your f/o?

Mason is a delightful blend of both of us. Stocky in childhood that tapers out in his early adulthood and is just a smidge shorter than Sam when he’s grown. He gets dark, wavy hair from us both - his dad’s warm, brown skin and my dimpled smile. He also gets my mom’s green eyes :’) Continuing the inherited traits, he also gets a freckle in the middle of his left foot like my dad and I have, like a Joestar symbol but mid.

🧠: which emotional traits does your child get from you? which do they get from your f/o?

oh he’s a CRYBABY as a kid, but more because he emotes strongly and not in a purely brat way. He’d cry when he had to leave his school friends behind after the first day of kindergarten, he’d cry if Grif ate his last gusher, etc. Sam and I both focus on strengthening his emotional navigation, but the weepiness never entirely leaves. That’s entirely from me :’) Mason watched Sam intently observe things, situations, and people, and learned the same by imitating him from an early age. He grows up to be very project-focused like the both of us and gets irritable if he’s interrupted from whatever he’s determined to finish doing/watching/playing. Sam recognizes the high chance of neurodivergency given our backgrounds and worries that Mason might internalize the wrong message that drive = personal achievement rather than being a product of a a process. It’s a lesson that Sam’s taken a whole lifetime to understand, so he tries his best to direct his son into healthy strategies to minimize mental and emotional burnout if things don’t go as imagined. Mason’s practical and emotional empathy is pretty balanced by the time he enters high school.

He gets an appreciation of nature that he carries into adulthood. I think Mason would probably want to work at a zoo, nature center, or state/national park, but keeps his options open between those or something unorthodox like being a food truck e-celeb. Our nuclear family is small and insular, but the extended family of Reese, Felix, the Reds & Blues provide a wide variety of personality exposure so that he can adapt to pretty much any social group.

💡: if your child is adopted, tell us a bit about how you came across them! how did you and your f/o know they were the one?

Kind of a swerve since Mason’s our bio kid, but we established contact and introduced him to his Sangheili half-brother that Sam made through his sword quest/slut phase breakdown. Mason thinks it’s the coolest thing EVER to have an alien brother and looks forward to his visits.

His brother, having been mostly raised by the Sword Quest Sangheili’s extended family since Sam gave him up because he was still getting his shit together at the time, never really came to see Sam as his “father” like Junior did for Tucker but is amicable and is impressed with how much Sangheili I’ve taught Mason from my days as an Outpost Discovery docent. Also enjoys teaching Mason traditional Sangheili rodent-catching games as a bonding method.

💬: what was your child's first word? was it a nickname for you or your f/o or something entirely different?

[picks up dropped sippy cup] “For’nat.” Me: Oh my god, he said “Fortnite.” Sam, through tears: No, he did not.

💕: which parent does your child tend to cling to? does it make the other parent jealous?

I’m the tactile parent due to my family being very affectionate which is a dream when Mason’s a kid, but wanes as he’s older and becomes more independent. I don’t take it as a slight, but it does hurt because I know I did the same thing to my parents and it will just take time for Mason to define his boundaries.

🪁: does your child enjoy learning about their parents' hobbies, or do they prefer to find their own?

Mason LOVES to explore the outdoors! He’ll help me and Sam in the garden on Iris and sometimes eat dirt, he’ll play with the small dinosaurs and have a modest collection of both fossils and bones. He loves learning how things work despite how messy and uncertain nature is! “You mean this rock is billions of years old is the same one that tore up the washing mashing and is now on the shelf in my room?? THAT’S SO COOL-” He also loves helping me and Sam prep meals in the kitchen and carries a love of food throughout his life. Food brings people together.

🐾: do you and your f/o have any pets alongside your child? how do they get along?

Sam and I found a scrungy stray cat on his ship years before Mason was born so it was his first pet in early childhood by default. He doesn’t have a lot of memories of it as it passed away by the time he was in Kindergarten, but he still loves the photos of the cat sleeping in his rocker with him as a newborn.

As he gets older, he’d probably want rats, a huge aquarium, or reptiles which I’m totally down for, but Sam still needs convincing about. Just no turtles or parrots because we’re not leaving stuff in the will to critters that will outlive us all.

🍼: what's your child's comfort item and where did it come from? is it a hand-me-down?

Mason is a cozy boi and the comfort blanket phase never really left, just evolved with him. I introduced him to my Granny’s and Mawmaw’s quilts since he was an infant, then the light and playful story time blanket that belonged my uncle, then the blue microfiber blanket that survived past college. One time Mason went scrounging in some of Sam’s old UNSC stuff and found his ancient poncho liner woobie, completely oblivious of the nylon melted on the corners near scorched needler holes. Sam found Mason snuggled up with it and it Mason’s without a second word. Maybe one day Sam would tell him about how it got him through the worst of the Great War, but right now he’s happy that his kid is kicking his legs across it during Saturday morning cartoons.

🤲: how did your child react when they met you and your f/o's friends? are they shy?

The Reds and Blues are...a lot. As a kid, Mason was more attached to some than others like Sarge who tried to raise him into a red-blooded blue-hater, or Carolina who he thought was the coolest of the cool (and still does). Felix and Reese are his favorite uncles because they’ve literally been there since the beginning. Felix was a uncomfortable for a variety of reasons that Mason would be too young to understand for a while, but that only made him want to understand Felix more, or as much as a toddler can. Also probably because Felix and Reese let him get away with breaking house rules when he stayed over and developed a bit of a wild streak that wouldn’t ever truly go away.

🌈: if applicable, who (from your f/o's source) would you make your child's godparents? who (out of your friends) would you make their godparents?

☀️: what's your child's favorite game to play with you and your f/o? tag? hide and seek, maybe?

Mason used to love playing hide-and-seek until he got the bright idea to use his dad’s invisibility module to be the ULTIMATE HIDER but thought he was stuck invisible forever and cried until we literally tripped over him four hours later. Once he understood how it worked as a young teen, he absolutely used it to win paintball games and definitely won a few costume contests when he dressed as a yautja for Halloween four years in a row.

🧁: what's your child's favorite thing in the world? what's their least favorite thing?

He loves the raptor claw he got from Uncle Fewix.

He loves laughing at Sarge’s batshit war stories.

He loves thumbing through my vinyl collection and sitting in the sun listening to the genres and instruments bleed together into something soulful, honest, and weird.

He loves when I brush his hair that’s growing as long as his parents’.

He loves catching fish with Sam.

He doesn’t like that he only has second-hand memories of Iris. He wants to return one day and hopes the house is still standing. He wants to see a living dinosaur again for the first time.

He hates the tickle of hair snaking down his back so he gives himself an undercut one day out of frustration and fucks it up.

The Great Produce 48 Rewatch: Ep 2, Grade Reassignment Part 1

Hey, National Producer! You look great today -- have you been resting a lot and watching some good content? Anyway, when we left off with this earth-shattering earth-changing earth-touching project, we had finished watching the 94 trainees preparing for their grade evaluation. Now it's time for the actual evaluation and grade reassignment! Let's get to it!

The next portion of the show is a little irritating. First, MNET shows some of the girls recording their performances. Then they show the girls making tearful phone calls home. Then they show some of the judges watching some of the performances. Then they show some of the girls finding out their grades, while trying not to react too much so we can’t tell what their grade was. Then the girls begin walking to their new classrooms, often while blurred out so we can’t tell who is walking until multiple reactions have been shown. It’s typical MNET editing, delaying just simplifying telling you for no real reason. I mean, if they’re going to show a fully blurry body walking down a hallway, they might as well just show a blank screen, you know? Like just with a sign that says “be right back, just wasting your time”.

I’m going to recap person by person, and give you the info on who went to which class as we go along -- during the recording segment, during the phone calls home segment, or during the "judges watch the video segment." If someone gets totally skipped over, I’ll just tell you all the rest at the end. I hope it’ll make sense as I go.

The first person we see record is Shiroma Miru, who I think of as Miru-chan.

After the first chorus, she just sort of stops dancing. The choreography -- and I think the lyrics -- have absolutely left her brain. At least she keeps smiling. She really is the cutest. Miru-chan is one of those rare cutey pies who gives me insight into why someone would vote for someone who isn’t that skilled. I still wouldn’t actually vote for her, because I vote based on merit, but I can’t help but keep cheering for her success. (I try to not use the term “root” as in “I root for her” because apparently that means something quite different in Australian slang.) Unfortunately, the judges aren’t on the same page; later on, they move her down to D class. Well, she’ll look pretty in green, right?

Wang Ke, who is Chinese but signed to a Korean label (she does her interviews in Korean), also forgets everything. She’s the one who had the red polka dots in the Celeb Five audition. She’s only 17, for starters, and it has to be so hard to learn the songs in both Korean and Japanese when she isn’t a native speaker of either language. Like Miru, she later gets moved down to D class.

Hong Yeji, one of the CNC school girls who auditioned with Kep1er’s Dayeon, forgets everything, begins to panic, and actually falls down. I want to jump through the screen and hug her. It’s obvious that she failed the test, and later on we find out that she did indeed get moved down to F class. Afterward, her classmates stroke her head and try to comfort her, but there isn’t much anyone can really say. She interviews later -- wearing a small scarf around her neck, maybe to protect her throat for singing purposes? -- that she didn’t want to look like she didn’t practice hard. My diagnosis: she might have practiced too hard, or she might have not practiced the right way.

Cue: An Yujin.

Our future IVE queen knew that you have to practice the way you’re going to be tested. So she practiced recording herself, so that she would get out some of her nervousness ahead of time. (I wonder if they all had access to a camera…? Hmm…) She had some trouble the first time she tried it, suddenly forgetting all her moves, so it helped her practice more effectively. Her performance is pretty good -- her singing is quite pitchy but her dancing is correct and fun to watch. The judges later move her up to A class.

Lovies, learn from Yujin! If you are going to be evaluated on camera, practice on camera. (And by extension: if you are going to have to write an in-class essay for your test, practice writing essays at home! If you are going to be timed while you’re tested, time yourself in practice! If you’re going to have to deliver a speech to your class, see if a friend will listen to you practice it through once. Whatever way you’re going to be tested, try to spend at least some of your practice time doing that thing. )

Son Eunchae’s audition is going great. The future-former Bugaboo member auditioned with Humble/Aing, and we saw her and her teammate joking a lot on the first day. Her singing is clear and on key, and her dancing looks great to me. The show teases us -- will she hit that high note on the line “ ‘cause you’re my star”? Dance Bae had told her that as long as she can sing, she’ll go up to A-class. She *sort of* hits the note, though she lets the strain show in her face more than she should. After she sits down, her classmate Kim Sohee from Woolim -- future Rocket Punch member who auditioned with Kwon Eunbi -- voice overs sympathetically that Eunchae made a lot of mistakes. Did she? I didn’t think so, but I guess the judges found something to nitpick too. She gets moved up, but only to B. Still, good work, Eunchae!

Lee Chaejeong, future Alice, who auditioned with Roller Coaster, can’t hit that high note (though the rest of her singing sounded good, even if she was out of breath). The judges decide to keep her in C-class.

Park Chanju, who auditioned with Chaejeong, also can’t hit the note, and just whispers the whole line instead. It must be hard to sing a note that high while jumping up and down. The judges move her down to D class.

We get a little mini montage of three girls who can’t hit the notes. For all three girls, we really can’t hear any of their singing, so it’s hard to know if they’re doing ok, but all three seem tired and nervous and a little embarrassed.

On the left is future Le Sserafim Huh Yujin, getting her nanosecond of attention here. I wish we could see more of the audition and figure out what’s so wrong with it, because the judges move her all the way down to F!

In the middle is Number-One-Chair girl Park Seo Young. She gets moved down to class D.

On the right, that’s Park Ji Eun, future-ex-Purple Kiss, who auditioned in a red stripe sweater with the song Pretty U. Later on, we see the judges watching a clip of her audition and she’s basically just sort of standing there as if hoping to remember the steps.

The judges are like, “get yourself together, girl!” We find out later still that she gets moved down to F.

Next, we check in with D-class.

Up first is sweet-faced Motomura Aoi, who auditioned in that Never Ending Ferris Wheel group, the one I thought looked like a little puppy. She isn’t perfectly on key, but she’s close, and she’s dancing with a smile on her face. Aww, and the judges later reward her by moving her up to B!

We see Imada Mina, really throwing herself into it! She’s the tall one from that Never Ending Ferris Wheel group, the one with no bangs. Later on, we find out that she get moved up to C-class, so good work, Mina!

Nakano Ikumi is going for it too. She’s the one who had apparently won “best dancer” in an AKB based vote and who Dance Bae tore to shreds. It’s nice to see her really dancing! Later on, we see that the judges all smile watching her performance. Cheetah says, simply, “I like her.” As we find out later, she gets moved up to B class. Great work, Ikumi!

Very Pretty Girl Kim Minju interviews that she’s jealous of the way the Japanese girls “make their faces so bright while they dance”. That is definitely a strength of theirs. Kim Minju must also have displayed some strengths, because the judges move her up to group C. We don’t see even a nanosecond of her evaluation, though. Congrats, though! I always thought she wasn’t nearly as hopeless as Hyewon.

Han Chowon, future Lightsum, also likes the Japanese trainees’ energy. We don’t see any of her audition either, but it must have gone well because she is later moved up to B-class. I think that’s richly deserved -- I think they were way too harsh on her for her audition.

Next, we check in with the F girls.

Chiba Erii goes first.

She starts off ok, but after the first few lines, she just forgets everything -- lyrics and steps. She voice-overs that her mind just went blank. The judges decide to keep her in F class.

The same thing happens to Matsuoka Natsumi, the one with the distinctive face from the Never Ending Ferris Wheel group -- she seems to go blank. But she must have done some good stuff with the rest of her evaluation that they don’t show here, because she actually gets moved up to C class! That’s fantastic, Natsumi!

Here’s Mogi Shinobu, our living meme girl from the fashion-challenged What’s Your Name group. Oh no! She looks and sounds like she’s about to cry. She doesn’t seem to forget everything, though, and she’s not that far off key. Still love her. A little later, in an an interview, we hear a staff member asking her -- IN KOREAN? -- whether she thinks her grade can go up. (Why are they talking to her in Korean? Maybe there was a translator right there and they edited that out?) She can’t even answer. She just shakes her head no, while her face contorts into all different shapes as she tries not to burst into tears before she finally answers, in Japanese, that she doesn’t think so. Shinobu, your singing wasn’t that terrible, really, judged by the standards of this competition.

The judges, as it turns out, agree with me. As we see later, they like the way she --and other Japanese trainees, don’t stop dancing. We later on find out that she’s been moved up to D, which probably actually made her feel a little bit proud. I hope it did.

Here’s Shinozaki Ayana, also from the fashion-challenged What’s Your Name group. She forgets everything and sort of gives up, shaking her head. By the way, I noticed she has a small birthmark right under her lip, on the left side, that will help us recognize her in the future. And when we see her, she’ll still be wearing that gray shirt, because the judges keep her in F class.

Many of the F-class girls just burst into tears when they’re done with their recording, wondering why they did so badly when they practiced so hard. I repeat my comments from above -- they probably didn’t sleep enough and they probably didn’t practice the way they were going to be evaluated. I wonder if they took turns dancing alone in front of each other? That would probably have helped. When you dance in a group, you are all constantly subtly reminding each other of the choreo and lyrics. And when you dance alone, you can mess up and start over as many times as you want.

Bibian goes last in her segment. She seems to almost be crying even before she starts, and she does in fact forget most or all of the steps. She hold back her tears and keeps moving around. Later, in an interview, she shows signs of long sustained crying as she says “I realized I’m not really that talented. I’ll have to work harder to catch up.” The judges seem to agree with her -- they keep her in F class.

Meanwhile in A-class, the girls are just as tense.

They know they’re just trying to hold on to their high grade -- there’s nowhere to go but down.

Even Lee Chae Yeon, future soloist, is nervous (right), while friendly Choi Yena, who auditioned with the Everglow girls, is trying to soothe herself (left). We don’t see Chaeyeon’s audition yet. We find out that she’s hoping to the be in the center, which reminds us that the girls are not experiencing what we, the viewers, are experiencing. Like, to us it’s obvious the center will be Sakura, but Chaeyeon doesn’t know that.

From what we can see, Gaeun does great. Later on in the episode, we get to see a bit more of her audition video, and really, it looks almost perfect. She introduces herself confidently, and the judges are excited to watch her perform. She sounds a little shaky on the high notes, but Jeremy says that the song is just too high for her and that she still can sing well stably. She will keep her A status.

Na Goeun, future Purple Kiss, also does pretty well from what we can see. The stuff we don’t see must also be good, because even though Soyou scolded her a lot in class, they will keep her in A-class.

Little Lee Haeun, the “mini-Chungha,” does great. Despite a little bobble on one note, overall her vocals are pretty fantastic, even on that high note. Later on, we get to see the judges watching her video. Dance Bae says, “She’s small but she’s good.” Naturally, she keeps her A-status.

Kim Da Hye from Banana Culture seems to struggle specifically with the Japanese version. Later on, we see her as part of a montage of girls who failed to learn the lyrics in Japanese. The judges move her down to C-class.

Kim Cho Yeon, the “fire-eyes” girl, also struggles. It really shows on her face, too. When she’s done, she sits down, miserable, hoping against hope she can keep her place. Later on, we see a bit more of her audition, including when she forgets the words and dance steps and begins adjusting her hair instead. The judges all say “aigo” with a bit of sympathy, like they’re cheering for her, but they move her down to C.

Hwang Soyeon, the little Sunmi girl of the flat tummy, struggles as well, though she seems to be confident with the dance, and she tries to sing the words that she knows that are in English. When she sits down, she struggles to fight back tears, wondering what’s happening to her and all her classmates. YOU GUYS DIDN’T SLEEP, IS WHAT HAPPENED! She thinks she might lose her place. However, I, in the future can assure you that the judges will keep her in A-class. The parts of the video that we didn’t see must have been a lot better than what we did see.

Choi Yena’s face is a study in misery as she starts. You can tell that the lyrics have completely left her brain. It wouldn’t be so bad if she smiled and hummed or something, but she just sort of miserably dances in silence. For all we know, at some point she starts singing, but that’s not what we see. The evaluation isn’t perfect, but it isn’t a complete failure either; the judges move her down, but only one grade, to B-class.

Kwon Eunbi also dances in silence, though she tries to put on a braver face. (I couldn’t get a decent shot of her dancing, so I used this one since at least you can see her face clearly.) We later on see the judges watching her audition, and it does seem that she doesn’t sing a single word of Japanese. The judges are relatively kind and just move her down to C.

And I can't fit any more pictures in this post, so I won't include a shot of Sakura, but I think by now you know what she looks like! From what we see, she does pretty great in her evaluation performance. Her voice isn’t perfect, but in the parts we see here, she’s a lot better than some of the other Japanese girls. In the clips we see, she seems to know the lyrics in both languages, and she seems to know the dance and to perform it well. During the judges’ evaluation, we can see that she introduced herself in Korean. The judges are complimentary, though in this clip we can hear that her singing is a little… I don’t know, reedy. Thin. Pitchy. The judges like how she looks right at the camera, though. She keeps her A status.
