How ‘VPR’ Producers Convinced Raquel Leviss to Come Clean in Bombshell Final Minutes of the Reunion

The last moments of the Vanderpump Rules reunion were absolutely s-h-o-c-k-i-n-g due to Raquel Leviss sitting down with a producer and coming clean about the extent of her affair with Tom Sandoval. Not only did Raquel reveal that she and Tom had slept together multiple times in Mexico, she said they hooked up while Ariana Madix was out of town for her grandmother’s funeral.

Watching the footage, it was pretty clear that Raquel wanted to finally tell the truth—despite Tom Sandoval encouraging her not to—and Vanderpump Rules EP Alex Baskin told the Hollywood Reporter how the reveal went down.

“She started talking to the interviewer, our showrunner Jeremiah Smith, and clearly, this was weighing really heavily on her,” he explained. “This was something that she wanted to get off her chest. Something she had to purge. That’s how it all naturally happened, and you see their conversation play out.”

Ultimately, the truth came out when Smith asked her pointed questions: “I think the extent of which she talked about it was a function of her comfort with production and production being so versed in the set of events that happened that they continued to ask her pointed questions that caused her to just completely reveal everything she had been living with.”

Baskin also confirmed that Raquel left the interview not knowing how Tom Sandoval would react:

“I don’t think she knew where that was headed. I think she did this for herself and felt like she had to do it. And it’s kind of heartbreaking. She says she knew that, obviously, he was going to be really upset, and she said he is kind of all that she had at that point. But I don’t think she felt she had a choice, so her feeling was that she had to get it off her chest, and if that ended up costing her what was going on between them, this was still something she had to do. She just had to unburden herself.”

Tom hasn’t publicly reacted to Raquel’s confession yet, and it’s unclear if they’re still in touch.

Women Dressing Women Costume Exhibit at The Met

"The Costume Institute's fall 2023 exhibition will explore the creativity and artistic legacy of women fashion designers from The Met’s permanent collection, tracing a lineage of makers from the turn of the twentieth century to the present day by highlighting celebrated designers, new voices, and forgotten histories alike.

Women Dressing Women will feature the work of over seventy womenswear designers, spanning ca. 1910 to today, including French haute couture from houses such as Jeanne Lanvin, Elsa Schiaparelli, and Madeleine Vionnet, to American makers like Ann Lowe, Claire McCardell, and Isabel Toledo, along with contemporary designs by Iris van Herpen, Rei Kawakubo, Anifa Mvuemba, and Simone Rocha." - The Met

I love that The Met is doing two different costume exhibits a year now. This one only runs for three months, so obviously I had to go this week. Highlights below!

Avant toute chose, il est important que je définisse les limites de ce dont je vais parler, afin qu'on soit bien au clair sur ce dont on parle.

Une série d'animation pour adultes désigne une série d'animation ciblant une audience adulte. (Source : Wikipédia)

Pour des raisons évidentes, ici le terme "série d'animation pour adulte" sera utilisé indifféremment du terme "dessin animé pour adulte". Je tiens également à préciser qu'on ne parlera ici que de séries occidentales, celles asiatiques, souvent regroupées sous le nom "anime" jouissant d'une meilleure réputation.

Souvent, très souvent même, je vois des "take" passer sur le fait que les dessins animés pour adulte sont nuls, en se basant régulièrement sur des exemples comme South Park (soit), Hoops (bon ok, c'est effectivement étrange), Big Mouth (mouais, dites de suite que vous avez eu une adolescence dans la norme, sans besoin de représentation) ect etc ...

J'ai globalement l'impression que certains facteurs expliquent ces takes, et cette vision, les voici :

Le fait que les dessins animés soient globalement percus comme étant pour les enfants, ils faut alors que le show en question sorte particulièrement de l'ordinaire, soit particulièrement intelligent pour être apprécié. En gros un gatekeeping des dessins animés pour adulte, afin de montrer qu'on peut être un adulte respectable et en consommer

Le fait que beaucoup de contenus, ou du moins, beaucoup des séries très connues soient oppressives et / ou avec un niveau assez as et / ou de moins en moins bonnes, ne donne pas une bonne image générale des séries pour adulte.

J'ai également l'impression que certains thèmes sont largement privilégés, parce qu'ils font plus sérieux. Je vois en effet souvent Bojak Horseman ou Les simpsons (je ne comenterai pas) listés dans les bonnes séries, mais pas American dad, par exemple. La principale différence réside dans le fait que les premières sont largement plus tristes et sombres, considérées comme plus profondes.

Cependant, il existe des petites pépites que tout le monde semble ignorer, surtout quand il s'agit de pouvoir trash en paix. Je dois dire que je suis sincèrement SOULE par cette mauvaise foi crasse.

Pour la peine, voici donc une petite sélection personnelle de dessins animés pour adulte qui sont vachement cools et qualitatifs : Tous ne sont pas forcément au même niveau, mais ce sont des séries devant lesquelles j'ai passé du bon temps, et que j’apprécie particulièrement.

Twitter Unleashes on Tom Sandoval for Shaming Ariana Madix Over Wearing a T-Shirt During Sex

Part three of the Vanderpump Rules finale aired last night, and it’s best described as oooof. Unsurprisingly, Tom Sandoval did not come off great throughout the episode—but he made a particularly diabolical comment while discussing his sex life with Ariana Madix that caused Twitter to absolutely lose it.

During a convo about whether or not Tom had slept with anyone else since starting his affair with Raquel Leviss, Ariana said, “Well, you know who he did sleep with after he and Raquel started sleeping together? Me.”

Instead of apologizing again—or just literally staying silent—Tom felt the need to sarcastically shoot back, “She kept her T-shirt on; it was really hot.”

This is obviously a horrible thing to say, and the VPRcast was shocked. By which I mean Lala Kent said, “You’re such a fucking dick,” James Kennedy added, “What the fuck, dude? You’re fucking disgusting,” and Tom Schwartz hung his head and said, “Don’t say that, dude. Don’t say that.”

Meanwhile, Twitter…also had a lot to say!

Andy Cohen honestly called how upset people were going to be about Tom’s comment ahead of the reunion, saying on Andy Cohen Live, “There is something that Tom Sandoval says tonight on the Vanderpump Rules reunion that is going to upset every woman in America.…It was an aside that he said, and when he said it, everyone in the room was like ….”
