At long last, I’ve finished the Gang Lookout and Rogue Doc!
They took longer than expected to paint but I really enjoyed working on all the little details. And as always, I had great fun painting the bases. This time I tried a pale turquoise colour for the decking to get that industrial look once it had been weathered up.
Very pleased with the end results, and these two will be right at home in both my Necromunda collection and Genestealer Cult army.
Happy Hobbying

I spent some time today adding the chipping to the Hellhound turret. Going to move onto the hull tomorrow and leave the fuel tank til last.
Next up will be the rust and streaks! I’m really enjoying being back at the painting!

Some progress on the Artemia pattern Hellhound for my Genestealer Cult. I’m focusing on the promethium tank at the minute, got nearly all of the base colours done but the white band needs another couple of thin coats to get that smooth finish. Next up will be decals and weathering but I’ll do that over the whole tank so it has the same uniform finish.
Happy Hobbying!

I am still here, and still hobbying, although my hobby time has been reduced to almost zero in recent weeks. Work has been very intense and there’s no sign of things easing up yet, which means I’m exhausted when I get home each night/morning/afternoon or whatever the time of day is that I actually get home.
But never fear, I am still chipping away at various projects! On the painting table right now are an Artemia Pattern Hellhound and a little Servo Hauler. Both of these are being painted in the colours of my Genestealer Cult army, the Coronid Watchmen. The Hellhound has been fun to work on so far and I am looking forward to weathering it up. The servo hauler underwent a spontaneous conversion mid-painting, as I just didn’t ever like the big servo arm it comes with from the box. So I decided to hack it off with a hobby saw, and filled the gap with some spares from the Dunecrawler kit. The big servo arm just looks very goofy in my humble opinion, so it has to go.
I’m hoping to get these two finished by the end of the year (yes that’s really how much my painting time has shrunk to for the moment 😂😂)
But I’m still here, and still love to see all the cool stuff you folks are producing!
Happy Hobbying

The newest addition to the Coronid Watchmen… an Achilles Ridgerunner. The Achilles wears generously donated to the Watchmen’s long range mining survey corps by a local trader. The trader later was reported missing with no trace of his whereabouts….
This was sitting half-finished on the painting table for almost 2 years before I had a surge of inspiration and finished it a couple of weeks ago. Im really pleased with how it looks, and it was so much fun to paint too. Definitely want to get another Achilles at some point in the future.

Some work in progress shots of my Gang Lookout and Rogue Doc for Necromunda.
These will also make great alternative character units for my Genestealer Cults army, the Coronid Watchmen. The Lookout will make an excellent Cult Nexos and the Rogue Doc will be ideal as a Biophagus.
Still some work to do with the details but they are almost done.

The newest recruits to the Coronid Watchmen, a demi-cohort of mining riggers who will be employed as saboteurs and explosives experts. This motley crew are used to being in hazardous environments so are perfectly suited to operating in enemy territory, laying explosive charges and booby traps to deadly effect. They are also expendable, after all, there are thousands of others just like them in the mining colonies who can be pressed into service…
This little group started off as Hive Scum from Necromunda and I converted them using parts from various Genestealer Cult kits along with a few Delaque Gang pieces.
I’m really happy with the results and I definitely want to convert some more in the future. For now they will join the ranks of the Coronid Watchmen and sow discord and anarchy in the name of the Cult.
Happy Hobbying!

I’ve been busy building this weekend and managed to assemble an Arvus Lighter for my Coronid Watchmen Cult. The Watchmen have salvaged this spacecraft and are already putting it to good use, ferrying cargo and Cult members to nearby asteroid mining complexes, system defence platforms, and deep space listening stations.
This kit was alright to assemble, but a fair bit of cutting and bending was required to get the main sections to meet up. Even still, some of the gaps were huge and had to be filled with green stuff and plasticard. I’ve left the cockpit canopy off for ease of painting the pilot, and the rear door can still be opened although I think I’ll just glue it closed (I might try some LED lighting after being inspired by @copperforge ‘s incredible work recently).
Been on a real building kick this week, really enjoying assembling kits at the moment.
The Coronid Watchmen have gained flight to the stars, and they will spread their influence inexorably…

My first painted miniature of 2023, the Artemia Pattern Hellhound tank!
This has been one of my favourite imperial tanks for years and I picked one up on a trip to Warhammer World back in 2020, just before Covid turned everything upside down.
I made a start on the model in 2021 but it was put on hold while I focused my time on a new job. Thankfully it’s now finished and ready to join the ranks of my Genestealer Cult, the Coronid Watchmen.
I really enjoyed painting it and trying out lots of weathering techniques. My favourite bit is either the fuel tank or the dozer blade.
This will help to melt any opposition to the Coronid Watchmen’s rise to power!

Another addition to the Coronid Watchmen’s arsenal. This Crassus Armoured Assault Carrier has been recovered from the wreck of an Imperial Guard transport ship which drifted into space controlled by the Watchmen. Miraculously intact despite the damage wrought on the transport ship, the Crassus has been gratefully accepted into the ranks of the Watchmen, and will be put to work as a means of moving large numbers of Cult followers in relative safety and secrecy.
I spent this afternoon assembling the mighty Crassus and have to admit it’s a lovely kit to put together. There are no huge gaps needing filled, the pieces all fit together snugly, there was no warpage in the larger parts, and I could even build it so the roof slides off giving access to the interior. The rear door is also openable, and the various heavy bolters can all be traversed.
I also added a few little extra bits from by bits box to give a little added character to the model. I added some extra stowage, smoke launchers, a vox antenna, and external lighting for the rear door.
A great kit and I can’t wait to get it primed and painted in the colours of the Coronid Watchmen.

The scientific research department of the Coronid Watchmen have recruited a new employee to expand their ever growing team. A little Genestealer familiar has arrived to help with lab duties, allowing the Biophagus to focus on infecting *ahem* providing medical treatments to the mining colonies.
This was a fun little mini to paint, glad to get it finished after it sat partly painted for around 3 years.

A Kelermorph joins the ranks of the Coronid Watchmen. This was a fun little project I had started a couple of years ago and never got round to finishing.
When GW released the Kelermorph miniature, it didn’t really appeal to me. I felt that it wouldn’t fit in with the overall look or theme of my Genestealer Cult army, and I didn’t like the overly “Wild West gunslinger” aesthetic of the kit. So I decided to convert my own Kelermorph using spare bits from the Achilles Ridgerunner and Delaque Gang kits.
I’m happy with how it has turned out although I did start to lose a little momentum towards the end of painting it. Glad it’s finished though, and ready to join the Watchmen as they spread across the far corners of the Coronid Deeps.

Had a great afternoon yesterday building up some dock workers which will be added to my Genestealer Cult army, but will also be able to serve as hive scum for Necromunda or generic NPCs.
Each mini has been slightly converted (mostly just head swaps with the addition of some GSC icons and grenade belts) but I did swap some arms and weapons from the Atalan Jackals kit to tie in more with the industrial feel. With that in mind, I modelled the first dude to be lobbing a stick of dynamite (or 40K equivalent) and gave another guy a breaching charge. Looking forward to getting them painted up to join the Coronid Watchmen ranks.

Not very exciting but I painted up a few little barrels last night. I couldn’t get motivated to start anything big so just picked these up and did a quick and dirty paint job on them.
They’ll come in handy for scatter terrain or adding extra detail to battlefields.
Coronid Watchmen miner for scale.

With some new reconnaissance hardware at their disposal, the Coronid Watchmen needed to recruit a comms specialist to ensure their operations stayed on track. Step forward the Nexos, a solitary figure who keeps track of cult assets and relays information between the command structure and forward positions.
Much like the Achilles, this dude had been partially painted for a long time before I decided to get him finished. Now that he is done, I feel like I’ve got the bug again for my Genestealer Cult army and want to keep working on them for the moment.
So expect some more Coronid Watchmen updates in the near future along with the Ash Wastes project 👍
Happy Hobbying
