Where once we were all pretty much farmers, or very close to the land, and we rotated crops, studied yields, used livestock as land fertility aids and worshipped soil gods over lifetimes, not just financial years, now we just ring up the agronomist and order NPK. Where we once all felt, in our hands and backs and stomachs, the health of the soil that nurtured us, now we look at spreadsheets and averages and statistically relevant results. For a while, we lost the gratitude our forebears had for the soil they worked, the land they trod, the wisdom they garnered by growing stuff and watching the earth with more than passing interest, and more of a survival instinct.

Got the new Minecraft update, LOVE the cherry biome, love the terracotta pots (even tho you cant plant stuff in them for some reason), but incredibly irritated bc I can't help thinking that people have been begging for concrete slabs and stairs and more plants for literal years and if Mojang had expended a fraction of the time they spent on the SIXTEEN base, exponentially customizable armor trims I predict everyone will use Once and forget about, they could have easily implemented those features instead of giving us just two (2) incredibly rare, unable to be duplicated plants, and bamboo slabs and stairs, which are nice I guess but also literally noone asked for them.
In addition, like this could have been wrong, but I thought I read once that Mojang didn't want to give concrete (and glass, and terracotta) slabs and stairs bc they "weren't in real life"? Like the glass i understand but I literally see concrete stairs every day of my life. And stairs made out of bamboo is a ridiculous concept???? Also you have fucking dragons. Like why do you ask for suggestions and feedback if all you're going to do is give bullshit excuses and then add shit noone cares about?

Are there printing presses in this shockingly literate culture? All these kids can read and write, where and how are they being educated?

Which by the way I'm getting so irritated this is off topic but does anyone remember in the movie Deep Impact (I think it was that one one of those disaster movies) Morgan Freeman played the president and when the time came to announce that the SHTF he not only told the ppl not to panic (though they inevitably will, there will always be the humans running out to hoard toilet paper); but he ALSO laid down some laws immediately he froze ALL prices saying NO PRICE GOUGING YOU HEATHENS (something to that effect) and I just freaking every day like I know it would take something like an E.O. or declaring emergency or war act or whatever in order to do this but PLEASE GOD CAN YOU JUST DO THAT bc seriously the inflation the gas prices rent everything- IT'S NOT ALL ACTUAL INFLATION IT'S BIG COMPANIES PRICE GOUGING AND MAKING RECORD PROFITS JUST BC THEY CAN then small local businesses and all consumers are just screwed and it is NOT okay it's being projected to keep going up whilst simultaneously complaining about homelessness like bitches hellO I just have to scream a minute
