The following days breezed on by in a jubilant blur. In a week, there was a lot you could learn about aliens. It turns out they weren't too different from us earthlings. Grogu really liked bacon, but he preferred sausage, and Mando liked his eggs to be fried hard rather than scrambled. Mando and Grogu were quite the roommates to have. Since they arrived, there hasn't been a dull moment. Without even trying, they made your vacation much more enjoyable.
Mando loosened up a great deal once he realized that no other pirates had followed him and his son to Earth. While he never fully stopped wearing his beskar armor, he did favor the garments you offered him. He eventually admitted that when compared to his mandalorian garb, your apparel was less restrictive. It was, of course, compared to a full-sleeved bodystocking, thigh and shin guards, knee-pads, vambraces, shoulder pauldrons, and a helmet. Whew. You were astonished that he didn’t suffer from heatstroke at some point. It was impressive that he could run at high speeds and fight with such precision while wearing all that armor.
You tried something new for dinner tonight, and let's just say Grogu isn't a big fan of asparagus. Mando, on the other hand, marveled on how well you paired the asparagus with the pot roast and mashed potatoes. The two of them could be like night and day sometimes. After dinner, it had become a habit for the three of you to linger at the dining room table to get to know each other better, or you would move to the living room to watch tv. You even devised a new sitting arrangement that allowed Mando to eat with the two of you without exposing his face.
Spending time with Mando now that he was more relaxed failed to decrease your sexual desires. You craved him not just carnally but romantically, too. You were developing feelings for him at an alarmingly fast pace. Too quick for your liking, but what could you do? How do you avoid someone who lives with you?
You couldn't tell if Mando had the same desires as you or if he was just being kind.
Obviously he had sex. He was a father for fuck's sake. At least you thought he did. Even though Grogu didn't look like him in the slightest. Both were aliens, but different species. With all that Mandalorian clothing on, how did he even manage to have sex? You weren't one hundred percent sure, but you'd love to help him out of his tunic. You decided to give him a few more days to make a move before you just outright asked him to knock the sonic rings out of your pussy. Just a couple more days, you thought to yourself.
The untimely darkening of your laptop screen pulled you back to the present. You and a handful of colleagues were brainstorming fresh and innovative methods to control prolonged bleeding caused by an unexpected trauma. You tapped a random key on your laptop, forcing it awake so you could check the time.
1:08AM
Jeez. You'd been at it for nearly three and a half hours. Mando and Grogu went to bed around ten. You were restless for an unknown reason and figured you could conduct a little research until your eyes got low, but to no avail. You were on vacation yet you continued working.
You scratched your head and leaned forward slightly, adding a few sluggish sentences to the word document before zoning out for a second time. You had no helpful thoughts about prolonged bleeding, so you were momentarily useless to your coworkers. The Mandalorian was all you could think about at the moment. The manner in which he walked as well as the gruffness of his baritone voice through the modulator, the adorable way he interacted with his son and drank his morning coffee, the way he looked in his beskar armor and a simple t-shirt and sweatpants—he was striking. Everything about him intrigued you.
And as if he could hear your booming thoughts, Mando appeared around the corner and strolled into the living room where you were sitting. He was wearing blue gym shorts, a white t-shirt and his helmet of course..
He strolled over to the longer sofa, oblivious to your presence in the study. He moved to sit down, but not before he caught sight of the glow coming from your laptop screen. "Hi," his modulated voice murmured, "You're still up?" You nodded.
“Can’t sleep?” you asked, finally slamming your laptop closed. Mando was much more engaging than the journal article on your fading laptop screen. After standing up, you crossed the entrance to the study into the living room and sat on the opposite side of the same couch he perched on, folding a leg under yourself before shifting your body to face him.
“Yes,” he admitted, angling his body to face you as well, “This planet is hard to adjust to.”
“How many planets have you been to?”
“I’m not sure,” he said, half shrugging, “I lost count after thirty.”
“Thirty planets? Wow. That’s actually kind of fuckin’ awesome.”
“I guess it is,” he huffed, it almost sounded like a small laugh.
“So, why’d your ex come over like that the other night?” Mando asked, voice heavy with curiosity, but you also detected a smidge of disdain.
“I’m still trying to piece that together,” you admitted, sighing deeply, “I thought he was done with me.”
“Done with you?”
“Yeah,” you nodded your head, “Ben left me two weeks before our wedding day.”
“Di'kut,” Mando scoffed, shaking his head in dislike, “Why would he do something stupid like that?”
“He never told me,” you shrugged, unconsciously scooching closer to Mando. “That was the first time I spoke to him since he left me.”
Now that you knew Ben's true colors, you were glad that he left you before things got too permanent. He was an egotistical coward, and you dodged a very big bullet.
Good riddance.
He hummed, thinking of what to ask you next. He hesitated before asking, “Do you want him back?”
"Hell no!" you exclaimed a little louder than necessary.
"I'm glad." Mando said warmly. You couldn't see his face, but you could hear the smile in his voice. He was glad that you didn't want your ex back. What did that mean?
“What about you?” you asked as you leaned closer to him, “Got any crazy exes I should know about?”
“No,” he replied, chuckling softly at your question and the silly face you made once he answered your question. “Why did you make that face?”
“I’m finding it hard to believe that you aren’t taken.”
“Well I’ve had a few situationships I guess, but nothing long term.”
“Mmhmm,” you said, squinting at him, still not buying it.
He laughed full on out this time, shaking his tin can fondly at you, “I really like you, Tulip. You’re so funny.”
“I like you, too, Mando.” you said, joining him in a laughing fit.
“Din.” The Mandalorian uttered between laughs.
“What was that?”
“My name,” he professed, “Is Din Djarin.”
“Well, that’s a nice name, mesh’la,” you said honestly, flashing him a toothy grin. “It suits you well.”
“Thanks.” he said gently, trying to hide his blush.
You stretched out your tucked leg and shook it slightly. "My leg is trying to fall asleep." He gestured for you to put your leg across his lap, and you eagerly obliged.
You rested your leg in his lap, and he traced his fingers down your leg before slowing to knead at a particular spot where he found a knot. You had to use every ounce of willpower that you had to stop a moan from escaping past your lips.
“Fuck,” you cursed, letting out a high pitched groan as he kneaded his thumb over a particular tender spot just beneath your knee. His fingers flinched away from your skin as he tried to gauge whether you were in pain or not. He looked up at you, searching your face.
“No, that felt good,” you said. With a nod of his head, he placed his fingers once more in the spot just below your knee. You moaned softly, "Please don't stop, Din."
"How does that feel?" He asked, his voice gentle and low through the modulator.
"It feels good." You exhaled softly. "You can go harder if you want," you added.
He pulled your leg closer to him, bringing you and your knee closer to him for a better angle. You let out a small yelp and felt your face warm as you struggled to recover from the embarrassing sound that had just slipped past your lips. You felt wetness seep into your panties as your clit throbbed, achingly.
Din positioned his hands deliberately this time, such that his thumbs were able to dig into the meat of your quadriceps right above the tender joint.
You let out an involuntary whimper as your eyelids fluttered shut. Fuck, if he didn't stop, you were going to cum. Just from him massaging your goddamn knee. He had to know what he was doing to you by now. There was no way he didn’t.
“Harder,” you said.
Din used both thumbs to dig two straight lines, one on each side of your thigh, pressing in deeper as he stroked them up and down slowly.
“Fuuuck,” you whimpered again, louder this time, biting your lower lip before saying, “Just like that, Din.”
Din let out a quiet gasp before kneading your lower thigh even harder, really digging in with all of his strength. Your nipples hardened under your tank top, your breaths got harsher and the tight coil in your stomach began to unravel.
"It's really tight right here, cyar," Din grunted, squeezing the meat of your thigh and before you knew it, an orgasm ripped through your belly. You buried your teeth into your lower lip, almost drawing blood. Tears welled up in your eyes as you bit back a downright sinful moan. You couldn't remember the last time you came untouched. Probably never.
Din noticed your thigh quivering, and before he could gauge your reaction, you leaned forward and coughed a few times into your hand.
“Are you okay?”
You nodded and uttered, “I’m g—good.”
“Want me to do the other leg?”
“Yes, ple—please.”
You brought your other leg into his lap and he massaged your knee and upper thigh. His hands were magical. He found every knot, even ones you didn’t know were there. He was perfect. Was there anything that he couldn’t do? Little did you know his massage was luring you right to sleep.
Your head dipped to the side, and you jerked yourself awake, blinking wildly. Din was still sitting there with your legs in his lap, caressing your lower thighs.
You let out a long yawn and covered your mouth. Din yawned as well, indicating that he, too, was tired.
"All right," you said as you removed your legs from his lap and straightened up. "Time for us both to go to bed," you offered your hand for him to grab, and when he did, you hauled him to his feet.
"I just wanted to thank you again for allowing my son and I to lay low here with you for a while," Din remarked, squeezing the hand that had helped him up once before letting go. The massage was all the thanks you needed, you thought.
"I should be thankin’ you," you murmured as you moved to close the door to your study before turning back to face him. "This is the most fun I've had in years."
You both stood there in pleasant silence.  You were both exhausted, yet you didn't want to leave the other's presence. You thought you saw a bulge when you helped Din to his feet, but when you turned back around after closing the door to your study, it was gone. Just your imagination. You wanted to stay on the couch and talk some more, but after a mind-numbing orgasm and a splendid massage, you were struggling to keep your eyes open.
You said to yourself, screw it, and closed the distance between the two of you, placing your arms around Din's shoulders and pulling him into a much-needed hug.
“What—um, what was that for?” Din whispered.
“You just seemed long overdue for a hug is all,” you whispered back.
“I honestly can’t remember the last time I had one.” Din revealed. His admission pulled on your heartstrings and you had to force yourself not to pull him in for another embrace and never let go.
“Well, that stops now. I will hug you more often if that’s alright with you.” you said, smiling at him as you took a couple steps back, giving him some space.
He peered at you and tilted his head before replying, “It is.”
“Great,” you giggled softly, “And you can hug me whenever you feel like it.”
He hummed in amusement, “Whenever I feel like it, huh?”
“Whenever.” You nodded.
Din took a hesitant step forward and held out his arms in an awkward angle. You closed the remaining space and wrapped your arms around him, tighter this time. You weren't sure how long you both stood there embracing each other, but it was the most enjoyable few minutes of your life. You both rocked side to side, oh so slowly, appreciating the warm embrace. He felt amazing in your arms.
You caught yourself drifting off on his chest and grudgingly pulled away from him, breaking the hug.
He ran his hand down your arm and clutched your hand in his before you could turn away from him. You squeezed his hand and brought your other hand back up to his shoulder. “Thank you,” he repeated, more sincerely this time.
“No need to thank me,” you whispered, smiling softly up at him as you rubbed your thumb across his bare shoulder, “Good night, Din.”
“Good night, Tulip.” he breathed, letting go of your hand.
It was obvious you both didn’t want to stop touching each other. You bit back a desperate groan due to the sultriness of his baritone voice. He had to know what he was doing to you. You dropped your hand and turned away, giving him a tiny wave before sauntering off to your bedroom alone, even though you didn't want to.

Weekend Update 04/14/2024
Tumblr media
Nerdie, you’re kinda late tonight.
Yeah, it was all taxes this weekend. 😭 Ugh. But it’s done. Let’s not talk about it anymore.
OK…So what’s new?
Back to work after time off. Adjusting and writing. I did watch the Ryan Gosling SNL episode. I laughed so hard.
I did get a manicure and pedicure - 💜 purple hehe!
I did read some fics this week:
1. Something Old by @fhatbhabie (Javi G x plus size female)
2. Sexting by @reallyrallyauthor (Steven Grant x Marc Spector x Jake Lockley x You)
3. Enchanted to Meet You by @beskarandblasters (Din Djarin x f reader)
4. Fires at Midnight by @inept-the-magnificent (Lucian Flores x f reader)
5. A Midnight Plea by @soft-persephone (Marc Spector x fem reader)
6. A Galaxy Far Far Away part 6: Halloween at Juniper Cottage - Pick your own pumpkin by @grogusmum (Din Djarin x earthling f reader)
7. I’ll Give You The Moon by @soft-persephone (Marc Spector x fem reader)
8. Mi Santa by @fhatbhabie (Frankie Morales x reader)
I did write some this week 👀 I’m sorry I’m advance. Things ended up dark. 😭 Those are marked with the red.
Back & Nose, Hair and Hat - (Only Parts of you Mr. Morales Series)
Her smile was worth it - for the iamasaddie writing challenge 2.0 (Pero Tovar modern AU DARK FIC)
Interlude Two - Tell me about her and Part Seven Merging the Star Clusters - (The Lake between us Series)
Scarlet Stains and their Echoes (DARK FIC) - Post Apocalyptic Fluff and Stuff
Chapter 3: Can we talk for a minute? - This is the Neighborhood Din Series.
This week there were a few things, like the writing challenge 2.0 @iamasaddie put together. We sent in asks, pick a color (I did it to myself, I asked for mob enforcer- where else was the fic to go but dark?) Despite being kinda freaked out at what I wrote (I’ll need to process that later) I like it. I usually don’t do dark fics but given recent themes in my writing it’s there. 👀 So I’ll write it if it pops up in the brain.
And this past weekend (I totally missed but sweethearts @perotovar and @honeyedmiller tagged me in) was the @swiftiscruff friendship exchange. From what I saw, people are writing fics for each other, making gif and moodboards and proving much needed friendship and fun. 😎
I’m sure there are other things. But I dunno what they are. 🤣 I hope everyone enjoys what they’re working on. And if you need to rest, drink some water, dance around, nap, all the things.
This week there will another chapter of Din’s neighborhood, I FINALLY have more Din fluff. Well in the neighborhood and Star Ocean Series. I should have another chapter of Benny and actual fluff post apocalypse. It escaped last week. So we’re bringing it back.
No more Ezra and his gumbo or tanktop 🥺 Part 8 will be up next Sunday. His prose will be no more for now. 🙃
My Frankie miniseries will be almost done. This Friday and the next Friday of my math is right. lol
Special thanks:
@mysterious-moonstruck-musings for finding an excellent pic of Frankie’s back and giving me notes on smut that I chose not to use for now
@connectioneverywhere for letting me talk their thumbs off and putting them to sleep. 🤣
@soft-persephone I see you 👀 Two words: Dem noses. 👃 You know. 😄
@megamindsecretlair You need to write about some curls! Telling me and Softie to write about them. You know which curls. 🤭
@soft-girl-musings Songbird, Cabbie and loud ass Marcello on drums. Why did I half expect him to be playing drums on SNL? 😂 He was wearing a very loud shirt so half credit.
@tinytinymenace it’s always fun seeing your namesake laying and just relaxing. 😎 With a dope poof.
@604to647 I really appreciated your ask and messages this week. 💜
Have a great week everyone! 🥰
Love Nerdie ❤️❤️❤️

A Galaxy Far Far Away au: Part 4 Freaking Out, On The Outside
Tumblr media
DIN DJARIN X EARTHING F!READER
WARNINGS: Starting to get some angst on the board, panic, mention of loss of a child, pining, idiots who don’t know what to do with their feelings, excessive babbling
WORD COUNT: 3000ish
SUMMARY: In an effort to keep Din’s son safe from Imps and bounty hunters, he sets a course for a faraway galaxy.
On Earth, Din and Grogu have been taken in by gentle reader, and reader worries about the Crest being found by the powers that be. Din teaches reader how to fire a blaster.
Tumblr media
NASA... the smile left your face. Slowly you looked down at your food, with grimace, you gave Grogu most of the food on your plate, having lost your appetite.
You tried to shake the anxiety you could feel bubbling up.
"You two are quiet," Din said, you could hear the difference in his natural voice and the "baby monitor" voice. It was warm, smooth and deep.
You shook your head, angry at yourself. You're getting all... What? Starry eyed for a space man (you internally groaned at your choice of words), playing house with him and his tiny green foundling... when they were in real danger.
"Is everything alright," Din asked, uncertain.
"Yes, I mean, no.... I don't. I don't know."
Din brought the helmet over his head and came into the kitchen, placed his hands on his hips.
"What is it?" He looked at Grogu, who seemed happy, eating the pile of additional food on his plate.
"I-" you started. Mando stepped toward you. You stepped back.
It was the first time he had seen you look scared.
"I wo- won't harm you," Din took his hands off his hips and tried to look a little smaller. You realized how your reaction looked from Mando's point of view, and you hurriedly tried to explain, " no, no, I'm- not, I- okay....why did you come to earth?"
You touched him on the arm, you wanted to make sure he knew, you held no fear of him, that you were not suspicious.  Din looked at your hand, he knew there were pressing matters as to why you were suddenly so anxious... He answered haltingly, “to protect the kid. He is in danger- wanted by powerful people, since I have taken him into my care, I am to.”
"Y- you're refugees…” you squeezed his arm and then released it, “Okay, you know, we don't have space travel like you, we have gone to the moon, big whoop, I guess. And we’ve sent robots to Mars… but, um sorry... we have space programs. Probably still a laugh in comparison. We watch what's going on in space, well - our galaxy... I mean - some of it, oh I don't know!" You sped up, "We have satellites and the Hubble telescope and… I don’t know what all. But what I do know? We are super paranoid. Of each other. We... generally we, I mean, the government… the military, is watching for other countries... territories on Earth, that might be hostile to ours... I’m shocked they didn’t see some blip on some screen, when your ship entered our air-space, blamed Russia and start World War 3…” You shook your head, and your voice was traveling up to a higher octave you reserved for panic, “then there's NASA, um, the national air- aeronautics and space... association? No, administration...I know, I know, I'm babbling. The point is they must know you’re here! There is no way you set your Razor Crest down on American soil, and they don't know!" You took a breath, finally, realizing how you must have sounded.
"I suppose you could just- just- just fly a- away..." You also realized, to your embarrassment, your eyes were wet. Mando's blank helmet looked at you. You felt heat rise in your neck and face. You looked everywhere but at him.
Din wanted to close the distance between you. He tried to step toward you again.
Grogu had been watching and whimpered at your distress. Like Din, he had taken to you immediately and didn't want to see you in pain. You looked at him and were ready to kick your own ass. You rushed to Grogu, passing Din, who began to reach out to you. "I'm so, so sorry Grogu, I must have sounded so frightening." You picked him up, you looked into his eyes, "I promise, I will do whatever I can to keep you and your dad safe." You looked at Din, but your eyes didn’t make it up to the visor, shaking your head apologetically, "I'm an artist, I work at a bar... I don't have any power.” You breathed deep and shrugged “but I promise to help you. For what it’s, worth."
"Why," his question was not suspicious, "you don't- know us."
"I-" you began, "I don't need to. Know you, I mean. You need help. If I can give it, I will. Besides, I feel-" you looked straight into the Mandalorian’s visor and startled him, you were looking directly in his eyes. "I feel like you are finally here, and I didn’t know I was waiting for you... that sounded creepy, I'm being creepy. I'm sorry."
Din wanted; he didn't know what he wanted... he felt the same way. But, while he got the feeling you were one of those open spirits, who treats everyone as family, he was not. When you had tears in your eyes, so overwhelmed with worry and care for his and Grogu’s welfare, it tripped something protective in him. He wanted to shield you, from whatever you fear, to hold you.
"Let’s get my laptop- I mean computer and see about any UFO sighting or,” you said with a mirthless laugh, “ if any wars have started. I- I should have done this last night," you went to the living room, leaving Din with his hand half-raised, as usual, you were muttering to yourself, "idiot, debating over soups... "
Dins hand came down, slowly.  He stood in the kitchen a moment more, trying to get a handle on his feelings, before following you into the living room. You were already sitting on your soft couch. Grogu was beside you, his little hands on your thigh, peering at the screen. Din stayed standing.
"Please," you said gently, “sit. I'm sorry for freaking out. It doesn't instill confidence does it." He did, Grogu between the two of you. Grogu babbled, feeling happier, safe between the two of you.
"Okay, let's fire up the old Google Machine and see what's what," you said to Grogu, who replied, "patu." The child then looked at Din, who shrugged.
"Okay, well, wars would be in the headlines… we will chalk that up as a win… alrighty, U- F- O sightings," you muttered as you typed, "Neeewww Hamp-shire."
You found a sighting from last week, a bright light up Northumberland-way, and two nights ago was an egg-shaped “something” over Epping and only on conspiracy sites... you wondered if that in and of itself suspicious. But you didn't quite know what to do with your suspicion, you thought it’s probably on "the dark web"... but you weren't even sure how to access it.
While making lunch, you joked you needed to reevaluate your life... apparently you were supposed to be ready with computer hacking skills for extra-terrestrial refugees, not homesteading skills for the zombie apocalypse. When Mando only looked at you with a tilt of the helm, you decided Seamus had gotten it, and thought you were a riot. You also told Mando you would probably need to go to the market for food soon. Din apologized and you brushed it away with a dismissive wave and a “pshht!”
Tumblr media
Din thanked you for the meal from the other side of the door, explaining they don’t get much in the way of real food, mostly reconstituted meals and ration bars. The Child had much more to say on the subject, he almost danced in his chair and babbled happily. You took his little hand in yours, your eyes suddenly glassy, you bit back the swelling emotion. He stopped and looked at you with his great soft dark eyes with some concern. You smiled at him warmly, he then closed them contentedly, humming.
After eating, Din and Grogu had gone for a walk, back to the Crest to get some supplies. You sent Seamus with them. Din didn't really know why, but the dog was good company, so he went with it. He went up the ramp and got Grogu’s pod, the blue blanket from Sorgan, and his beloved silver ball. For himself he packed a few changes of underthings and clothes... he looked in his weapons cabinet, it felt strange without them, but wondered if it would be poor manners to bring an arsenal into your home... he grabbed his toiletries and decided he'd figure it out later. It wasn't far and it wasn't like he was unarmed. He looked longingly at his amban rifle... he decided to take it with him. Seamus was in and out and around the ship, sniffing and quietly vocalizing.
Din placed Grogu in his pod and headed down the ramp, setting the security protocols from his vambrace. He looked at the trees, the leaves red, gold, and some mixed with green. He listened to birdsong and the scurrying sounds of small animals in the underbrush. He could smell the pines and wood smoke. Grogu watched his father and copied him, listening and watching, he liked Earth, at least the "New Hampshire" part. Din did too. Especially the Juniper Cottage part.
You could hear Seamus' happy bark as they neared the garden gate, announcing their arrival. "Mrrah," Grogu informed his dad as he reached for the hens as they clucked and pecked around the yard. Din huffed a laugh and set him down so he could visit with them. The little one followed them through the clover and grass, they picked up their pace, and Grogu tripped. The Rhode Island Red, Clara, turned and came back to him, and he reached out and touched her fluffy feathers, cooing, delighted.
"Be gentle," Din reminded him.
You came out to meet them, the cats at your heels.
"Get what you needed?" You looked at the floating pod, the haversack, your eyes landed on the long rifle, then looked at Din.
"Do you have a safe place for this?"
You showed him to the coat closet under the stairs to the attic.
You continued to look at the door, after the rifle was stowed away behind it, you reached up to a sliding latch near the top of the door and engaged it. You had never had any type of firearm in your home. Living in such a rural area, you knew many hunters and were not opposed to eating the venison your friends shared, frankly, you preferred it to meat from the grocery. But this felt different, it felt strange.
"Are you alright?" Came Mando’s voice through his helmet.
"Ah, yeah." You said still looking at the closet. "We should get outside to Grogu and the ladies."
Din looked at the closet door as he left the living room.
"Sometimes, when someone learns to use a weapon safely, they fear it less," Din said quietly.
You watched Grogu sitting with all the hens, Clara on his lap, he was thrilled. You smiled, Din smiled at you, then followed your gaze and chuckled.
"Mando, I'm sorry. You are in a strange place, and I have informed you that it could be dangerous for you. You have every right to want to be prepared to protect you and yours."
"Thank you."
"I set my phone… it’s um like a communicator? And a little computer, to notify me of any reports of sighting in the area, I kept it a wide circle. Surrounding states as well as New Hampshire... just to be safe, I mean, it's not like you just dropped straight down... right?"
"Well, I used the hyper-drive to get us well within your, what did you call it air- space?" Din explained
"I don't know what that means... like warp-drive? That's Star Trek, forget it," you shook your head.
"Well, it’s untrackable in advanced galaxies- it can a little dangerous to go in or out of it while in a planet's atmosphere. But it can be done, I almost-" Din did something between a sigh and coughed.
"Almost?"
"We- I... almost landed on your Juniper cottage because of it," Din said it like it was a confession.
"Oh! Well. You didn't so, yay."
"So- you wanna shoot a blaster?"
You laughed, "Gods, yeah!"
You got the feeling Din liked the idea of teaching you. As he set up a space that would be safe to have target practice, you offered to try putting Grogu down for a nap. You had trouble separating him from his new friends, the chickens, but all the fun had worn him out. You brought him into his and Mando’s room and closed the curtains. You started singing a gentle song, about lovers, dreamers, and rainbows, swaying with the music. When you reached the bridge, your voice hitched, "…all of us under its spell, we know that it's probably magic..." a tear slid down your cheek as you placed Grogu in the cradle and turned on the baby monitor.
"Sleep sweet, you little green jellybean" you murmured as you slipped through the door and into the kitchen. Mando was standing right in front of you, you jumped.
Din grew up listening to ballads and anthems about great warriors, sung in baritone. He decided this was why he was so captivated by your voice, it wasn't particularly high, only comparatively. But it was sweet and lilting, and you seemed so at your ease and confident. He had heard the emotional break too, after you got over being startled you looked into the visor, how do you always find my eyes? Din could the tear still on your cheek.
"You’re crying."
You wiped the offending tear and shrugged. Quietly leading away from the door. You didn't speak until you were almost at the front door, "it’s fine, are we all set?" You weren't sure you'd be able to just change the subject twice.
"Yes."
You walked beside each other in companionable silence. Din took the lead as you got closer to the ship. In the clearing he set up a couple targets, ten yards from the Razor Crest, he had taken some durasteel sheets that were stored in the hull and painted a large X on them.
"I figured it might best out here," Mando said.
You turned off the monitor, knowing was out of range.
"What do I do?"
He had a smaller blaster he had taken out of the Crest and showed it to you. Just as you had taught him to make kindling, he explained the parts of the blaster, how it worked, and then demonstrated. You jumped a little at the sound and flash. He switched  the lock on and handed the weapon to you, "show me your stance."
You stood, legs about shoulder-width apart, doing your best to copy the stance Mando used. You placed one foot back, then bent your knees.
"Very good," Din praised. He stepped behind you and his hands came out to touch your hip and back but he stopped.  "I- can I, touch you?"
You knew that this was completely innocent, but what felt like a live fish in your belly thought different and flipped. You told the fish to stop it, and you told Mando, "of course." He placed one hand on your hip, the other on your back, and indicated moving so your bottom was out a bit, and your back leaned forward a little.
"Nice," he said. Your face warmed. "Do you remember where the lock is?"
You showed him.
"Yes, switch it off, and hold it with two hands for now, and aim," he directed. You and your tummy fish noted his hand was still on your back. You did as he directed. "Both eyes on the target and squeeze the trigger."
Your eye line was right over the blaster, whether you thought it would help or not really, you let your breath out slowly, as you squeezed the trigger just as you would when you loose an arrow.
You hit the target, not a “bullseye”, but not bad. Din rubbed your back, and then seemed to realize it and patted it instead, "G-good job."
You hopped on the balls of your feet, pleased. Beaming at him.
There was a huff of laughter, "wanna try again?"
"You bet I do!" You went back into the stance Mando taught you. You looked at him, and he nodded. You slowed yourself down, breathed, and squeezed.
You hit the target, this time well inside the X. Din was impressed, he had you practice several more times. You were consistent, so he had you try one-handed. After three attempts you laughed and declared it a disaster, missing entirely two of the three times. Din chuckled. You walked up to it, touching the scorch marks on the tree where you missed. Din joined you, “what is it?”
“I, um, I’m just thinking about, the blaster, um bolt? And the damage it can do, and bullets and guns… the weapons used here…I’m sorry.”
Din watched you, you were looking up at the tree. You had apologized to the tree. He could not describe how your contemplations made him feel. But he knew something about you kept pulling him toward you. Your sweet songs, your sincere commitment to helping them, your “breakfast”, and even the voicing of your many meandering thoughts… but what would you think to know he is a bounty hunter. That as a Mandalorian, weapons where a part of his religion, and for reasons he couldn’t fathom… dank ferrick, he hasn’t known you a full rotation… he feared disappointing you.
“I am, I-“ Din didn’t really know what he wanted to say, which was very uncomfortable, and unlike him, well- that wasn’t true, if he didn’t know what to say he kept his mouth shut, and that was fine with him. But he wanted to talk to you, and fight through not knowing, and that was unlike him. He touched your hand that still rested on the tree, “I do a lot of damage.”
You looked into the visor, into his eyes though you didn’t know it. “Well. I- didn’t think you were covered in armor because you were an architect.”
Din laughed. Really laughed, partly because he realized he was holding his breath awaiting your verdict. He released your hand, you could still feel the tingling warmth. You slid the safety on, turned the blaster barrel away from Din, and handed it to him.
“Thank you, for teaching me,” You said quietly.
“You’re welcome.”
After closing the Crest up for the night and setting the security protocols Mando joined you as you headed toward the trail and made your way up to the cottage. As Mando walked beside you, he sighed, the silence felt different. Like there was something he wanted to say.
“I can hear the gears turning.”
“What?”
You chuckled, “you’re thinking very loudly.”
“Did- you lose a youngling?”

can you do another Christmas fic with Din? I like how how he had no idea what Christmas was in your last one, maybe you decorate the ship with lights and he is like ???
This is fem!reader x Din Djarin, not use of Y/N. Reader is an earthling and celebrates Christmas. I decided to make it a head cannon because it can be shorter, I'm writing this during my break studying for finals. Hope you like it 🎄🎄
Tumblr media
It was not surprising that Din had been gone for a few days, he was no stranger to bounties giving him trouble.
What he expected when he made it back to the Crest, pushing the bounty in front of him was soft cooing of the child sleeping since it was fairly late, maybe even you too or at least in tucked into the corner with a hot cup of tea and a book in your lap. He was fairly surprised as the ramp of the hull lowered with a hiss, followed by a gleam of whites, blues and reds.
This hiss of the old hatch was deaf to both you and the child, music played in the background, slow melodies but the words were coming from you.
You were on your tippy toes on the stool, but still weren't tall enough to reach the ceiling of the crest, the baby let's out a babble of sounds, almost as if he is singing with you.
The baby is on your shoulders, also failing to bring the string of lights to the top.
The bounty looks at Din with fear, like what the fuck did I just walk into? Din is as equally confused but irritated from the long day as he pushed him roughly into the belly of the crest.
You and the baby are so concentrated you don't hear the hissing of the carbonate across the door, the only sound is the gasp that falls from your mouth as you slip but catch youself.
Despite fixing your footing, Din's hand reach out to grasp arms to steady you. It's an awkward position, he's pressed against the wall, breast to his face with the chair being your main support.
"Din you scared me! You can at least tell me you're here."
"you're kidding me right? I stood here for five minutes with the bounty, wondering what the hell you're doing with my ship."
The baby is on his tippy toes now, reaching out with an exaggerated gasp, Din huffs his large boots pushing up from the ground, boxing yours in-between his legs as he stands next to you. There's barely enough room, your squeezed against his chest as he takes the lights from Grogu, he looks around examining the room but its short lived as you reach up extending the nail to him.
"do you mind explaining why my ship looks like this?"
His tone is rough, and snappy but you don't take it personally, Din has been gone for days, little sleep, little food. "It's for a celebrate on earth, It's called Christmas. You spend it with your family, you have a big dinner together, presents.."
Din pauses, feeling his nerves start to unwind. He would often think about if you were homesick. He knew what it felt like, to have your home and everything that comes with it ripped away. He often dreams of home, celebrations as a child that were filled with food, joy and family.
You take the silence as a bad thing, "We can take it down, I should have asked you in the first place it is -."
"Cyar'ika stop talking." His tone softer more gentler despite the harshness of the words, even he thinks so as he adds, "please."
Cheeks heat up immediately, snapping your mouth closed, gloved fingers that accomplished their tasks now find another: feeling the warmth of your skin.
They take in every inch of skin they can, coating the rambling of words. "I like the lights... I just did not expect him."
Din feels the heaviness of two small hands on the top of his helmet, the child still rest between her shoulders cooing for his father.
"We will celebrate Christmas, tell me what I need for it." Din's hands don't leave your face but he looks up at the small child. The amazement in his large dark eyes as he takes in the scene is enough for Din to keep them up forever, the child is happy, smiling. "Hey buddy."
"We don't have to -."
Din rolls his eyes at your stubbornness. "Bunny.. stop being so stubborn, you said family celebrates it? Isn't that what we are?"
Your heart leaps inside the confines of your own ribs. Yes, it was true no one doubted it either but hearing the words spoken into the universe made it so real. You nod against his palm.
It's unexpected as you reach over wrapping your arms around his neck. "Thank you."
Din's returns the embrace, smiling to himself. The softness of you against the hard basker just felt right. "I don't want you to feel homesick, I want to be your home, I want your home to be right here with my and Grogu."
You want to reply it is but couldn't even reply because just as fast as he stepped into the chair he was off, extending a hand to help you down.
Once feet where planted on the ground, he reached up for the child, bringing him to his chest. "And no more using chairs, get me next time."
"you weren't here."
"wait for me next time."
Rolling your eyes at his protectiveness as he scoffs, free hand catching your wrist, pulling you into his heat again. The same arm wraps around your shoulder, knotting your hair lovingly bringing your cheek down onto the cool surface of his shoulder. Head tilting up to the ropes of multi-colored lights with a smile on his face.

SERIES MASTERLIST
PART 1 PART 7
Tumblr media
Din’s bare legs tangled with yours under the blankets, his large hand running up your side, you giggled as he got to your tickle spot. He huffed a laugh, his breath on your neck. There was a soft light filtering through white sheets, you felt gently cocooned with him, your bodies pressed together. His nose traced the column of your neck. Your lips met as he tucked his hips between your legs. You felt warmth gathering at your core and you give him a breathy moan. Din accepted it with a pleased huff and looked in your eyes.
"Mesh'la, I can't tell you how much I- "
Suddenly your little home shook, you both sit up as if it came with an electric shock.
Heavy footfalls, a bright light, a droning sound like feedback, banging on the door…
You ran through the kitchen into the living room, floodlights streaming into the three side-by-side windows that look out on the front garden. Din was by your side fully armored, Grogu in his arms. It’s only then that you noticed you were in those whimsical owl jammies you wore the day you met Din and Grogu. You don't remember putting them on? Seamus barked protectively.
You jumped as the door was again pounded on. Then you saw it, just as you had pictured it weeks ago, plastic sheeting covering the windows, and a person dressed like they are about to take a moonwalk opens the door from the sunroom.
More people in white hazmat suits with full respirators filled your home. Din was nowhere to be seen and someone had Grogu. He is crying and trying to pull away as they tried to draw his blood. You tried to get to him, but there are two faceless figures holding you back by each arm, you looked out the window through the plastic. A flash of metal, then Din on the ground. You screamed.
You woke with a cry, sweat on your brow despite the chill as soon as you were out from under the blankets. You heard the rushed footfalls of bare feet and the telltale click of dog nails on linoleum. Din and Seamus rush into your room.
“Jus- just a dream, fellas… I'm- I'm fine. Sorry.”
Seamus jumped on the bed and leaned on you protectively as Din sat slowly on the edge. You scooched over to give him room.
"We have to stop meeting like this," you joked half heartedly.
“What was your dream?” Din asked his warm hand on your cheek, sliding down to your shoulder.
“We were in bed- um our beds, you know in our bedrooms… and there was this banging and lights and they covered the cottage in plastic, like in E.T. and then this person… dresses in like a space suit… well, space suits like we wear, and… just- they found you, they found the Crest and they found Grogu!” You burst into tears.
Din leaned back on the bars of the head of your brass bed and put his arm around you.
“It's going to be okay.” He kissed your temple.
“I was so scared.”
“It’s just a dream.”
“Din, that ship can’t sit in my woods forever… the leaves are falling. Google maps or something is going to take satellite pictures or- or something any day now”
Your breath was still ragged from the dream and the panic it induced. Din brought you in closer, gently pressing your head to his chest, you listened to his steady heart.
“What do you suggest?” He said after you started to calm.
You knew you had to do something. You closed your eyes picturing the woods, the clearing, and the Crest. You allowed your mind to take a walk through the woods as you had so many times. Your mind’s eye came upon a hunting screen… a hunting screen! Your eyes popped open and you sat up.
“I’m an idiot!”
“No, you aren’t.”
“That’s very kind, but yeah I kinda am! Camo netting!” you smacked your forehead, “A-doye!”
“Camo…netting… What is a-doye?”
“A-doye is me being a dum-dum. Camo netting! camouflage netting used to make hunting screens… and during wars- to keep satellites from seeing factories and supply warehouses!”
Then Din started to feel like an idiot too.
“I didn’t think to use it, I only have enough to cover a few creates, or to make, well, a hunting screen.”
“We can order tons of it on the internet.”
“So we’ll take care of it in the morning.”
“Yes”
Din brought your chin up to kiss your lips. Your shoulders came down, and you took a steady breath.
“It’s settled, then.” Din moved to stand, you held him fast.
“Please stay. It’s almost morning, but I don’t…” you stammered. Then to your embarrassment, you thought about the beginning of your dream. “I want you to stay... please.”
Din looked down at you, you looked up from his chest. Could he tell your cheeks were suddenly warm? You were glad he didn’t have his helmet on for many reasons, but at that very moment, it was for the simple fact that he couldn’t use its sensors to see temperature shifts and so forth. You both snuggled down into the blankets and quilts, you rolled to your side and Din tucked in behind you, broad and strong. Your breath hitched a fraction at the feeling of him pressed against you. His arm came protectively around you. You smiled to yourself and tried to relax.
The sky was only beginning to lighten when you heard the sound of the dog’s nails on the floor again, then a “Burrap”. You wondered when Seamus had left your room.
Tumblr media
Opening one eye, there was Grogu eye level with you, as he was on Seamus’ back. You chuckled and patted the bed and he clambered on. Seamus jumped up and turned a circle or two before settling on your feet once Grogu was completely off of him. You opened the blankets and Grogu snuggled in and you put an arm around him.
You imagined this would buy you another hour more of sleep, but you were kept awake, not by Grogu, who was almost immediately breathing slowly, with the tiniest snore coming from him. You laid there, with Din at your back, his arm around you, and warm breath on your neck. Grogu at your chest cuddling in, a little clawed hand fisting your nightshirt, your arm protectively wrapped around him. The animals at the end of the bed (for once). Tears slowly gathered and started to tickle the bridge of your nose. When you sniffled, that little hand came up and patted your chin. You tightened your hug.
“You sweet little jellybean,” you whispered and kissed the top of his head. Din’s arm went from loosely covering you to tightening around your waist, his nose in your hair.
“You alright, cyar’ika?” Din asked as your legs tangled together, not quite like last night’s dream, but very like other dreams you held. You smiled to yourself and hummed in the affirmative.
“What’s sharee-kah?” You could feel Din's smile in your hair.
"It means sweetheart." It was Din's turn to flush, he kissed the base of your neck and then hid his face in the crook of it, his mustache tickling your shoulder.
"And that's Man-doh-ah?"
"Yes."
"Will you teach me?"
You could feel his smile widen.
"Yes."
You lie quietly for several moments.
"Oh, I put another app on the tabl- datapad I gave you. It will help you with learning to read."
"I like reading with you, cyare."
"We can still read together, this will just help you along."
"Good, I want to know how Paddington does in the sandcastle contest."
"You and Grogu both, he was trying to get me to read ahead while you were in the shower the other day," you laughed.
Din tried to huff in indignation but he is shoulders shaking in silent laughter gave him away. Grogu sensing he was missing out on something opened his big eyes and scrambled over your shoulder to look at Din. Din scooped him up and rolled onto his back, holding Grogu aloft. Grogu giggled and cooed his little feet wiggling.
"Were you trying to get ahead of me in our story, little wamp rat?" Then he laid Grogu on his chest. You had rolled with him, and when his arms were down you laid your head on his shoulder. This was all too much action for Seamus and cats, so they began to ask for breakfast.
"Ah well, it was nice while it lasted," you said, getting up to feed the crew.
In the years you’ve lived at Juniper Cottage, your neighbors Dave and Bev have been surrogate parents to you. Helping with logging your woods, the time half the huge red maple landed on the chimney, the broken water heater… You had of course had not reached out to them during this time, though it was against every instinct but- Din is a Space Man! What on earth would you tell them. But you had been thinking of Dave since Din had told you he wanted to help provide financially to the household. You knew the old New Hampshire Yankee would not care about social security numbers and identification cards when a strong back and able hands were looking for work. And he would LOVE Din, you knew it. But you did not plan on telling him anything about how he got here, why he had none of these things. You were pretty sure he would just make sure you were okay and not into anything that could get you hurt. Then, he'd proceed to give Din jobs around the property and help him get jobs from other folks in the area.
Tumblr media
You told Din about your neighbors and your idea, over breakfast.
“All right, Mesh’la. That sounds reasonable. Do you want to speak with him today?”
"Sure, it's time… I've been wondering when he was in the woods last," you said, making an anxious face.
You strolled down your little street, hayfield on one side, that has had its last mow of the year and on the other, an old New England stone wall, with wild raspberry bushes growing through it that ends at a horse paddock, while it is not officially a private drive, with all of three houses on it, and all of them nestled at the far end of the dead-end street, it is. Grogu cozied up happily in a front carrier under Din's field jacket. Bev and Dave's stately antique colonial farmhouse, with its traditional white clapboard with black door and shutters, sat across from the entrance of your dead-end road, on the larger road, baring Dave's family name.
You knocked, admiring Bev's beautiful harvest wreath, made by her and her daughter no doubt, rocking on the balls of your feet nervously. Bev answered, her warm smile widened upon seeing you, her silver-white curls tucked under a bandanna.
"Where have you been hiding sweet girl?" She pulled you in for a hug and eyed Din up and down over your shoulder. Din noted that while not unfriendly, she was definitely sizing him up. He liked her.
"I saw you at the parade, is this the knight in shining space armor?"
"The same," you laughed. "Bev this is Din Djarin. Din? This is Bev Dade."
"G'morning ma'am."
"Good morning, to you, she said warmly, "what's bring you by? Finally."
You gave a sheepish grin.
"Dins looking for some work, under the table. I thought Dave might need help around the property or know someone who does."
"Oh! This couldn't come at a better time," Bev said clasping her hands together like a prayer had been answered, then told you Dave was in the barn.
Your conversation with Dave was as expected, not curt or cold but economical, just the brass tacks. What skills did Din have, what could he learn, how much work was he looking for, hourly compensation… until Dave matter of factly asked his first question in the “making sure my surrogate daughter is safe” portion of the interview.
“So, all of this has anything to do with that huge ship in your woods? Is it his?”
“I- what- “ you said, getting less coherent with every sputter. Din’s head tilted, and he gave an amused huff.
“Junebug did you really think I wouldn’t see it?”
“I thought you had finished logging in September and didn’t hear you or the dogs back there… I- why didn’t you say anything?”
“Not my business, Junebug. Well, until it is.”
“See what I mean, Din?” You said turning to Din as you shook your head.
“How are you going to hide it now that the leaves are almost all down? Camo net?”
“Okay, please stop showing off,” you huffed, “yes, we are.”
Dave laughed and gave you a chuck on the chin, and pulled you aside.
“So this Din… mmm, he seems like he’s an upright sort of fella, straight shooter.”
You just smiled.
Dave decided to take Din for a walk on the property, you looked at Din and he nodded, and with that, you walked back to the main house.
“We can talk about the work later, right now, I want to know your intentions.”
“He did not!”
Tumblr media
Din just laughed nodding.
“Okay I am mortified,” you said as you put lunch on the table, then went to the refrigerator.
“I like him, and Bev. They’re just looking out for you.”
“Do I dare ask what you said?”
Din’s face and neck reddened, thanking the Maker, The Force, The Mythosaur, whatever, that he was busying himself with putting Grogu in his little booster seat. But he got the feeling Grogu noticed.
“I just told him, I’d do my part to provide, to never take advantage of your kindness and generosity, and to make sure you didn’t… get, um… hurt.”
“Oh, well, that’s all very kind of everyone,” you said but your sarcasm was only half-hearted, and it was your turn to feel your face heat at the thought of all this care.
Din wasn’t lying, of course, but he was simplifying the conversation. He felt a twinge of guilt as he admitted to himself, he was guilty of lying by omission. This was not all he said, it was all he planned to say, but Dave wasn’t satisfied.
“Son, I hear you and appreciate that. And while I am not her father and she is a grown woman and can do what she likes. Alma’s girl has been through the wringer…”
“I know, sir, and I- who is Alma?”
“Alma is her grandmother, we’ve been neighbors for as long as I’ve been alive. And I did make a vow on that woman's death bed to watch out for her girl.”
“I see.”
“She is like a daughter to me and you are a- an alien from outer-goddam-space, son. I am not sure how to hold that in my head.”
Din listened as he always does, attentively, but he absently stroked the front of his jacket as he thought of you as a sort of foundling too.
“I love her, Sir. I have never loved anyone more,” Grogu began to move under the coat perhaps in response, Din huffed, “well there is one other.”
“What is that?” Dave’s alarm was apparent.
Din was not planning to show anyone Grogu, but now he thought Dave was going to be suspicious if he didn’t. Kriff.
“As you have vowed to care for ‘Alma’s girl’ and I will happily join you in that promise. I have vowed also to care for a foundling. This is Grogu,” before unzipping the forest green canvas coat he added, ”he looks, perhaps more like you may expect ‘aliens’ to look, please understand he is just a child.”
Din opened his coat, and out sprung Grogu’s head, ears unfurling, and Din smiled down at him. Grogu looked around his large dark eyes blinking in the bright light.
“I think he dozed off while in there,” Din chuckled as Grogu disagreed and made it known.
Dave stepped back almost tripping over a stone, his eyes did not leave Grogu’s face, which looked at him curiously.
“I- what?”
“He is my foundling, whom I have vowed to protect and care for like my own.”
Dave’s mouth opened and closed serval times. This, he thought was just like you, your penchant to rescue the wayward.
“We saw it, sorry, him,” Dave said suddenly, “at the parade, everyone thought it was a clever puppet or animatronic.”
“Yes, I know,” Din said nonplussed, “and since we are staying, I am thinking we need to widen the circle of who knows, but only who is necessary.” Din allowed for the Bounty Hunter to come to the surface, to assure Dave understood the gravity of this.
“Well, Bev and I will keep it to ourselves, we’ve never been ones to gossip.”
“Thank you.”
“Oh and he knows about Grogu,” Din said casually, after dipping his grilled cheese sandwich into his tomato soup and taking a bite.
“WHAT?!”
