I saw the idea of qi qingqi x yu ziyuan and I propose :

an au of where jiang cheng post!mdzs is stepping down as sect leader and is actually looking for a cultivation partner - cue him finding one in the qiong ding peak leader of the newly ascended generation. They're really happy - she doesn't fit 99% of his criteria and is a whole head taller than him but it's actually great! they're happy! -She even introduces him to the old generation - including her shifu, Yue Qingyuan. In the wedding preparations, he meets the ascended lords, including Qi QIngqi, who is shocked by JC's appearance. Cue JC finding out abt his mother's old lover and being conflicted as he re examines the complexes that affected his childhood.

also I like to think that WWX and JC slightly reconciled post MDZS, so his reaction at meeting QQQ would be interesting.

Okay but why would Jiang Cheng step down? Even ignoring why he would desire to step down, before he can step down, he has to designate a heir - a heir that isn't directly related to him like a son but pick a cousin, somehow, from the very very few blood-related Jiangs left alive, to say nothing else of their cultivation level. For him to put his foot down on this plan, it means that he and the elders don't expect Jiang Cheng to have any blood-related children - not just because traditionally things are passed down from father to son and blood takes precedent, but also there would be a succession issue if Jiang Cheng suddenly has a kid with stronger blood claims...

Then Jiang Cheng has to spend quite a number of years training said heir. He's doing this while also teaching and helping Jin Ling with the whole mess that is the Jin Sect.

(There's no reason why Jiang Cheng can't hunt for a cultivation partner while remaining sect leader. The elders would be ecstatic and any transition of power is a period of weakness for the sect, so the longer they can delay Jiang Cheng passing the power over, the better.

So the elders would far rather that an interim sect leader handles matters while Jiang Cheng is on a sabbatical to find a cultivation partner. If it happens to be a male partner, they don't care - Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian have made it trendy and anything is better than nothing when it comes to Jiang Cheng who seemed like he was going to be an eternal bachelor. Perhaps this new partner can help them convince the Jiang Sect Leader to at least have a concubine or two for blood heirs!)

Also I'm sure that Jiang Cheng would feel even more like he's betraying his ancestors by giving up his position for something as "frivolous" as looking for love.

Other than that, lol imagine the Jiang elders have a mini heart attack when Jiang Cheng brings back not just a female(!!!!) cultivation partner (that he can have kids with!!! No more inane planning to be done to trick the sect leader into having kids!!!) but also his mother's old lover?!?!?!

(Insert Liu Mingyan in the back writing a love story based on Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji's lover story, being careful to mention how Lan Wangji's pillar was so large, it was almost large enough to rival that of the demon emperor's. But only almost.

Wei Wuxian takes incredible offense to that heh.)

Hey Jen!! Do you know anything about suits? I really want to buy a few but kinda scared if buying them and looking ridiculous because I literally don’t know what I’m doing lol. There’s so much suit etiquette and I just want to look nice! ): I kinda don’t care if my dress shirt has to be slightly down around the wrists I just wanna look good but scared of messing it up!? I don't know much about suits. I inherited my dad's 1970's wide lapel brown suit that he only wore for funerals and weddings. I was the only one it will fit because I am build like him. I haven't even had a chance to wear it for anything.

IF I had the money I would find an old style 1970's 3 piece demin brown suit like Wrangler used to make in a Western style. I had one as a kid and LOVED it.

I can give you some suggests of other butches who clearly know their suits and perhaps they can help. Tell them CowboyJen sent you.

Find your style. It might be Western Cut, Modern suit, 1950 3 piece business fashion, 1970's wide lapel or 1980's slim fit. OR any combination. There are lots of styles And accessories can make a suit. There are Vests, suspenders (my favorite) , leather belts, pocket square, ties, pocket watches, socks to add a tiny bit of color, shoes, lapel pins etc. You get the idea.

Most mid sized cities will have a seamstress or taylor who can help fit a suit and it is less expensive than you think. Dry cleaners, wedding shops, even department stores like JC Penneys or similar will have a list or have a taylor on staff to refer you to. I well fitted suit is an investment of sorts.

Oh man, Yunmeng/Wei/. I can already imagine the nasty gossip/rumors/remarks. "The son of a servant, a sect leader?!" or "JFM's bastard stole LP from the rightful heir/heiress..." (despite JC being out of the picture and JYL marrying into the Jins) or "He took in the Wen-dogs despite them being responsible for the massacre???" (because some people can be obstinate ugh). But on a positive note, Yunmeng would flourish 🥺 Because the people of Yunmeng adore their Wei-gongzi, ahem zongzhu. And of course, WWX would never turn his back on any request for help (unlike a certain someone who waits until someone dies lmao). YunmengWei will definitely be known for their talented, innovative, just and kind and resourceful disciples and ofc Wei-zongzhu's inventions. Honestly, it might even turn into a sect based on merits, not blood relations because let's face it, WWX will probably hoard the homeless and lowborn children/orphans. Wei Yuan as head disciple 🥺 Wei Qing as the head healer you don't wanna mess with so you should not be reckless during night hunts, or else. Wei Ning the best archery instructor and assistant of Qing-daifu. And of course, househusband Hanguang-jun jk jk. Honestly, jack of all trades LWJ except for the being the face in sect politics hahaha!!!

Honestly, tho. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji would build such a GOOD sect. It would be like the best thing that ever happened to cultivation world. You bet WWX would be 'ya kidding, I want nothing to do with the great sect, let YunmengWei be a smaller sect (it's actually not small bc it is rich (thanks wq and lwj) and full of powerful people (thanks wwx).

They'll be like you go play politics and all, we're just gonna stick with helping people, training disciples properly, and nighthunting.

WWX and LWJ would have so many children that no one would be able to keep track. People will be like 'if it is a kid in YunmengWei clothes, assume it's the zongzhu's child' lol

I think you mean this post . It was me and @/kuraioshiro messing around thinking xy and wwx would be the ultimate trouble makers. I'm surprised I haven't put more thought into this cause the possibilities with these two.

ngl I don't see anyone with wwx other than lan zhan (romantically) but i do see xue yang and wwx in a really great student-mentor relationship considering xy really did appreciate wwx skills in canon and even as friends.

My fav thing to consider is that if xue yang somehow was with them in cloud recesses, lan qiren would've probably has a qi deviation lmao

Not to mention jc having to deal with a wwx pt 2 and he'll probably be wary of him at first but jc loves messing around with his brother no matter how much he denies it and I can see the three of them (and nie huaisang) being little shits together and breaking rules.

Lan zhan having to watch over not one but two rule breakers during punishments and the two of them pranking him every chance they get.

Honestly xue yang is wwx if he'd just been treated by society better as a kid and if his outlook to dealing with the issues was different (but then we wouldn't have two different characters lol so where am I going with this?)

which reminds of that one scene where wwx is searching for the yin iron and xy teases him abt how an esteemed cultivator can just search another man like that and wei wuxian just says buddy there ain't no other cultivators like me like lmaoo give me more of their shameless banters
