[[KINTSUGI / THIS MASK CONTROLS ITS WEARER]]
...In the CtD campaign I’m in, the main villains are known as the Eillunus; thought to have all been destroyed 400 years ago after the death of their King, these sentient masks are parasitic entities. Compelling people to wear them through magical means and possible manipulation, they extend chimerical vines over the host’s body and begin to drain their wearer of energy and autonomy, before completely taking over the husk.
In Session Two of the campaign, the Motley came into possession of some of these Eilluni masks after a combat encounter where they ran into some possessed humans and ripped off their masks. Later, after one of the masks attempted to convince a member of the motley to wear it, the rest of them decided to discard the masks they had taken. They did this by putting the masks into a garbage bag and tossing it out.
Perhaps a man known as Rowan Sorbus found the discarded masks and brought them home, unaware of their nature. It would be a fun project, he decided, to try and put one of them back together....

Song Review: Oteil & Friends - “Midnight Moonlight” (Live, April 9, 2022)
Like a multi-generational tape recording, Oteil & Friends covering the Jerry Garcia Band covering Old & in the Way’s “Midnight Moonlight” loses something in the process.
Captured April 9 at the Skull & Roses festival and recently issued on professional video, it’s a game version by the Dead & Company bassist and his Friends, who include JGB’s Melvin Seals on organ; guitarist Eric Krasno; multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby; the world’s-tallest Dead Head, Bill Walton, on percussion; and others.
Yet, there’s a bar-band feel to the performance, something Burbridge can’t seem to shake outside the Allman Brothers and Dead & Company. He and the group are clearly having a good time; it just seems - to use the previous analogy - too many generations removed.
Grade card: Oteil & Friends - “Midnight Moonlight” (Live - 4/9/22) - C+
