Found out today that my entire past year of suffering is literally because my bedroom which shares a wall with the laundry room has been infested with mold for literally the entire year I lived there. All the times I randomly got sick, felt too exhausted to do basic tasks, and just generally felt like my mental health was falling into pieces — that’s all symptoms of mold toxicity. From the mold growing on the wall I put my face against in my sleep.
So hey, good time for a reminder for y’all: are you getting sick for no reason? Do you feel constantly fatigued? Is your mental health suffering? CHECK FOR MOLD DEAR GOD DO NOT IGNORE IT
Check under your bed and in your closets and behind everything you have shoved up against the wall. Find a random wet spot? DON’T IGNORE IT. Smell something musty? DON’T IGNORE IT. Even if you can’t see any mold, if it smells off CHECK IT OUT because as I have so helpfully learned: sometimes landlords will just paint over mold! That doesn’t do anything but make it look nice!
Here are some things I ignored over this past year that if I had paid attention to could have saved me both physical and neurological suffering:
- Apartment smelled odd when I moved in
- at one point, a pile of my dirty laundry was damp for no conceivable reason
- at one point, my bedroom floor had a damp spot for no conceivable reason
- every time I came back from staying somewhere else, the smell would hit harder
- the smell did not dissipate when I did the dishes or took out the trash
- I smelled something almost unbearably musty while lying in bed
- the laundry room next to my apartment was constantly wet
- the laundry room next to my apartment had large black stains on the walls
- there was some strange white stain on the foot of my bed
I pushed all of that aside for a full year, and it was hands down the worst year of my life. Don’t ignore signs of mold.

https://bit.ly/3S9egpW An anti-gravity air moisturizer is a type of humidifier that uses advanced technology to suspend a water reservoir in mid-air, creating the illusion that it is floating or levitating. This unique design not only adds a futuristic and stylish look to any room but also eliminates the need for a bulky base or stand, making it a space-saving option. Additionally, the device releases a fine mist of water vapor into the air, which helps to increase humidity levels and alleviate dry air symptoms such as dry skin, chapped lips, and sinus congestion. Overall, an anti-gravity air moisturizer is a functional and visually striking way to humidify the air in your home or office.

Hey y’all! Weird question that’s kind of a longshot. It’s about vaccines and allergies (based on my specific allergy history)
If I’m allergic to the flu vaccine*, not allergic to the Moderna covid vaccine**, and not allergic to eggs, do you have any ideas what in the flu vaccine I could be allergic to/what other vaccines I am likely to be allergic to***? *for once, it was like a normal allergic reaction? huge hive at the injection site (handprint sized) that turned into a bad bruise, but no other symptoms. My doctor said that even though it was a relatively minor reaction, I should not get the flu vaccine again, because of my history of severe allergic reactions. **I did have a reaction to the covid vaccine, but my doc and I are both pretty sure it wasn’t an allergic reaction, it was an “anything stressing my immune system makes my adrenals be even more wrong than they already are”. Basically, my blood pressure TANKED for three days after my last dose, I got bad chills, but had none of my usual allergic reaction symptoms.  ***from what I could find, egg allergies are the one people usually worry about with flu vaccines, but I eat eggs all the time with no problems

ORGANIC AVOCADO CARRIER OIL
It is a natural moisturizer that penetrates deeply into the scalp and nourishes it from the inside. It also traps moisture within, which aids in managing excess oil production. A well-hydrated scalp is less prone to dandruff and itchy scalp. It moisturizes the scalp and relieves irritation, which promotes dandruff. It is also a natural anti-bacterial oil that creates a protective layer on the scalp and protects against dandruff-causing microbes. Free radicals create oxidative stress in the organism. Pure avocado oil is high in antioxidants, which bind to these free radicals and limit their activity. This procedure strengthens the immune system and protects against chronic illnesses. It can be used to relieve inflammatory body discomfort.

For the Children
For the Children - Using herbs, supplements, vitamins & Essential Oils with the kids.
My friend Carol Tudor, RN, asked me one day, “Mary what supplements do we have that are safe for the kids?” That led to quite a discussion and we decided to share some things to think about when using natural solutions for health with your children.  We love our children and don’t like to see them in pain or suffering. I always thought, why do we have to wait until our children are completely…

Yo I haven't done it in forever so I forgot that working at a sex shop gives you superpowers
1. The We-Vibe Tango is a low frequency and fully waterproof rechargeable bullet vibrator that we used to sell for about $150. A new model came out about a year ago so it's on sale now online for $47. Can confirm that shipping is discreet and they have a really good warranty, just keep the packaging.
*(I'm not sponsored to say that and nobody is paying me rn, it's just a legit good deal.)
2. There are essentially three bases used for lube: Water, Oil, and Silicone. Oil breaks down any materials other than glass or metal, and Silicone breaks down Silicone toys and sometimes condoms. Water is safe for everything but tends to dry out, so people don't like it- but if you add water or spit, drying water-based lube will slick right back up.
3. If your water-based lube has given you any itching, tightening, or burning sensations, you probably have a chemical sensitivity. Obviously everyone has different preferences, but my number one recommendation is Water Slide- it's a super reasonable price compared to other lubes, it feels natural, it's incredibly gentle on the skin, and it doesn't stain sheets.
**(Again, I'm not being paid for this. By anyone. At all. I'm just sick of hearing people come in and tell me they don't use lube cause it hurts, or that they're using fucking coconut oil in their vagina. Please, God, don't put coconut oil in your vagina.)
4. A lot of massage oils use almond oil to suspend other ingredients, and warming products sometimes use cinnamon. Always, always, always check people's allergies.
5. You can buy toys off cheap sites if you want, just be wary of quality and ALWAYS read the product description. I personally wouldn't buy anything that isn't Silicone, stainless steel, or glass, because unlike jelly, plastic, "fantaflesh", and Silicon, (which is NOT Silicone!!!) They are non-porous, sterile, and don't melt in contact with each other. This means that as long as you clean them properly and don't use the wrong lubes, they will not hold bacteria or break down, which makes them safe for both you to reuse and your partner/s to share. (And to switch between front door/back door, so long as you wash before going back to front.)
6. Cotton and polyester bondage rope are cheap and great to practice with. Silk sounds fancy and is very strong but be advised that a lot of silk rope is "Silk(TM)", not actual silk. Read the product description. (I personally am reluctant to spend more than about $2 per foot for mass-produced synthetic rope, but could be persuaded to pay more for ACTUAL silk, nylon, handmade ropes, or especially attractive colors/patterns/textures.) You want your rope to be at least as thick as your thumb and layered to avoid lacerations, and taut (not stretchy) to be sure you're in control of how much pressure you're putting on.
7. Choking someone by pressing on the windpipe is painful and inefficient. If you want to, stay very, very light, as it's a very delicate area. If you want a head rush, press down on the sides of the windpipe, just below the corners of their lower jaw. You will feel a pulse there. That's the carotid artery. It carries oxygen to the brain. Pressing there will allow them to breathe, but will still "choke" the air going to their head. It's faster and painless. Only hold this for 3-4 seconds if you lack experience. It takes just under 15 seconds to make someone pass out from a blood choke, and after that you risk causing *permanent brain damage*. If your partner passes out, release pressure immediately and keep their airways clear. If you're the one being choked, know that your only warning will be spotty vision and a dizzy sensation. Communicate with your partner/s and for the love of God, do your research first. I'm not a doctor. Please God, please do your research.
8. Don't reduce blood flow to any part of the body for more than 20 minutes. This includes cock rings. Take a break for an hour between uses.
9. Most 'dick pills' are just a stimulant, a mild vasodilator, and a placebo. Usually mostly caffeine. They are not worth $20 apiece. Take a minute to meditate, have a hot shower, drink some black tea, have a coffee, go for a run, whatever- you'll get the same effect. And no, there is not a single ethical and legal sex shop in the country that can sell you viagra. You would have better luck on Facebook. Do not buy viagra on Facebook.
10. There are no "male toys" and "female toys". Your only limitations are safety and creativity. If youre sticking something into something else, just make sure everything is clean, not too big, not sharp or abrasive, and can be taken back out.
11. If something "goes missing" in your vagina and you panic, you muscles will tense up and it'll it'll harder to get back. Relax and stand up. Wait a minute. Chill. Calm down. Jump a couple times. There's nowhere for it to go and worst case scenario, I promise the emergency walk-in has seen something weirder or worse in the past hour or so.
12. You cannot return toys that you buy and don't like and I swear to God if you come into my store with an opened product and try to give it back I will lose my shit
13. Actually while I'm at it, people who work at sex shops are more often than not not sex workers and even if they were, it would still not be appropriate to flash or grope them or ask them "what they use", I will run you over in the fucking parking lot

heads up! reader has a lavender allergy? its an irritant if nothing else. + the mention of reader being drunk in the past and making silly confessions
vernon's already dragging you out of the room the moment he sees your discomfort. there's a few things he's thankful for, and the fact that your reaction is only mild and nothing more than days of itching if left alone. he makes some excuse for the both of you--something about cat (that you don't own yet, unbeknownst to the host of this party). this is a friend-of-a-friend kind of deal and vernon only agreed to come along because some of his buddies wanted them to meet. something about film buff friends.
he didn't expect said host to be into essential oils... and to openly diffuse them without asking. fuck, dude--he's got allergies. being so careless could fuck a person up. if he didn't have you to worry about, he'd say something...
"i'm gonna die," you whine against him on the bus ride home. vernon can see the way you're trying hard not to scratch.
"you're not gonna die," he wraps an arm around you. "definitely not gonna go there anymore unless they cut it out."
"you didn't have to leave."
"course i did," he says. "if i didn't, you'd have to go home alone." he leans more into your side, resting his head on your shoulder. "gotta protect you."
it earns a snort from you. "from what? more lavender?"
"you said you'd fight peanuts for me--"
you groan, bumping your shoulder against him. "i was drunk!"
"it was cute," he giggles. "don't worry," he plants a kiss against your shoulder. "i'll protect you from allll your allergens."
(at least he can still make you giggle despite how shitty you feel.)

Hey witchy community, can we normalize NOT having copious amounts of insense/essential oils/other smells in public witchy spaces(shops etc) please? I know you're trying to set a ~mood~ and all, but you're making the space painful for people with migraine triggers and genuinely dangerous/inaccessible for people with allergies and reactive asthma.
It would just be really nice to be able to interact with the community without risking hospitalization 💖 Can we be more mindful please?

Laundry Tips
I've been meaning to make an extensive list of tips as someone who worked in a laundromat. Some basics and a few things I noticed not many people know. This is also coming from someone who learned to take care of my clothes early on to save money cause we're all broke here, so these tips also save you money:
•If you're not sure how to separate colors, have 2 piles, lights and darks/brights. Obviously black clothes and bright colors like red or yellow should be separate from whites. But when you get any color clothing that's not a light color, or if you're not sure if it counts as "light", take a corner of the item and run it under warm water, then squeeze the water out and check if the water comes out with dye. If it does there's a high chance it will bleed dye on your clothes, so wash it with the darks.
•You do not need brand laundry detergent. Any laundry detergent will do. I experimented with a few brands and all brands cleaned just fine. Just know, if you use powder detergent, check the instructions because most have to be used with warm or hot water.
•Don't use that much soap. You're using too much. More soap doesn't mean more clean, the measurements on the container are made to be the exact amount you need. More soap means the machine has to work harder to rinse it out and you get soap residue more than likely, which can make you itchy or make allergies worse.
•You don't really need to wash anything in hot water regularly. Cold water is fine for most things, and makes your clothes last longer. You only really need hot water for things you clean less frequently or things that need disinfecting, like pillows, bath rugs, and comforters.
•With things that need disinfecting like bath rugs, pet blankets, reusable period pads/undies, and soiled sheets, use half a cup of hydrogen peroxide in the bleach tray. It's a color safe bleach so you can add it to any color item. For items that stink, like pet items or workout gear, add half a cup of vinegar instead of softener. It works better than the expensive "sport" detergent. Even on urine smells. I got this tip from a nurse that works in a hospice.
•To be honest, softener is unnecessary. You can soften clothes with half a cup of vinegar in the softener tray. You won't smell it once it's washed, in case you're worried about that. Softener is terrible for clothes, it actually ads a coating to fabric so if an item is supposed to pull sweat from your body, like workout gear, towels, or summer clothing, it looses the ability with just a couple washes with softener. And fire resistant clothing like baby clothes will lose the ability if washed with softener.
•If it's the smell you want, I recommend wool dryer balls. They help dry your clothes better anyway. But for scented clothes, add like 5 drops of any essential oil to a couple of them, or dip them in a hydrosol like rose water for a bit and then toss them in the dryer. I've heard people do this with perfume too, but I've never tried it.
•Treating stains is easier if you do it as soon as it happens. Or as soon as you get home. If you can't wash it right away, put a couple drops of laundry soap on the stain and dab it into the stain with a damp cloth, or use a stain spray if you have one. If the stain is cooking oil, hair products, or any type of grease, put a couple drops of Dawn dish soap on it. There's a reason they use it for oil spills. Just don't add any to your washing machine, it can cause the machine to suds up too much and break it. When you wash the item, check if the stain came out. If not, air dry it. Heat sets in stains so drying it in a machine will make the stain impossible to remove.
•If you have the space please air dry your clothes in the sun. Please. It's so good. It makes your clothes smell great, makes them last longer, helps remove stains, and brightens whites like bleach never could. I live in an apartment but I hang clothes next to the window in the spring/summer and its so good.
-Clothing labels lie. Here's a breakdown of what needs special care and what doesn't:
•Wool and silk are cold wash only. Hand wash if you can, but if you must machine wash, use cold ONLY. Use a delicate setting if your washer has one. It should be air dried. Get a drying rack. If you absolutely cannot air dry, dry wool clothing on cold/delicate for 10 minutes at a time until it's barely damp, then leave it open on your bed/couch or over a chair. Do not dry silk. It's expensive, why would you ruin it. Hang it on a hanger and hook it over your door if you have nowhere else to hang it. It dries quickly.
•Cotton can be washed any temp, but everything lasts longer in cold wash. Dry on normal, only dry on high if the item needs disinfecting or if the item is thick, like a pillow, bath rug, or comforter.
•Linen is indestructible. Linen is stonewashed to soften it, which means people put the fabric in large washing machines filled with rocks to beat it so it softens. Wash on high and dry on high to soften it more if the item is stiff, but a cold wash and normal dry is fine otherwise.
•Synthetics like polyester, acrylic, nylon, etc. are best washed cold and dried on normal/warm. More delicate items like thin blouses, stockings, and anything with lace is best air dried, but can be dried on cold/delicate if necessary. Synthetic clothes are more prone to staining so treat stains as soon as they happen.
•SOME dry clean only clothing is fine in the washer, but I'd say dry clean it if you're not sure. If it's an item with no lining it's usually fine, but always air dry these. Dresses, blouses or skirts with stiff linings will lose their shape in the washer. Easiest way to tell, if you turn a dry clean item inside out and there's a white paper like fabric lining certain areas it can't be machine washed. That's a stabilizer/interfacing and it will get ruined. Always dry clean suit jackets, coats, and anything labeled dry clean that's filled with feathers. Some suit pants can be machine washed, but make sure it doesn't have any interfacing. If a dry clean item has lots of colors on it, like a multicolored shirt, or a black dress with a white collar, dry clean it. It will get ruined otherwise.

I think that's everything, but if anyone has any questions, especially for doing laundry with a disability/low spoons, ask on this post or in the tags. My inbox seems to swallow messages but I'll keep checking this post.

Tips for an Anonymous silver fox therian/kin who is struggling to connect/learn about their type!
Dive into silver fox behavior, biology, and habitat. Wikipedia is a good starting point, but look for fox-specific websites and documentaries/docuseries!
Collect pictures and videos of silver foxes. Watch how they move, hunt, interact, and play. Pay attention to details that resonate with you :]
Listen to recordings of silver fox vocalizations! If ya like, maybe you could recreate em!
Look for essential oils or candles that capture the essence of a forest or foxes (use caution with allergies).
Consider wearing silver or grey clothing, or getting a silver fox pendant/jewelry to feel a physical connection.
Online communities like forums or social media groups specifically for therians can be a great resource! :DDDDD
Draw, paint, or write stories from your theriotype's perspective! Sometimes, it can form a memory!
Look into quadrupedal movement!
There's no one-size-fits-all approach to therianthropy. What works for others may not work for you, and that's ok!
Connecting with your theriotype takes time and exploration. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen overnight! :}
