It hadn’t placed any strain on their relationship, but they had days where they missed each other dearly, they longed to have the time to sit and relax together for longer than what felt like a moment. “I thought we could both use a break, together.”

My headcanon (in FF16 base as well) is that the three joined forces 5 years prior to the tragedy at Pheonix Gate. That would make Benedikta on the younger side, maybe early 19-early 20s, Cid in his late 20s, and Barnabas is TIMELEEEESSSS.

Clive Rosfield x reader

(MODERN AU + Fluff)

Clive realised that he was going to be late for work, he missed the first train and has to wait for a few minutes for the next one. Clive sighed and took a quick glance at his watch. As he was standing still waiting, you walked up next to him and stood there. Clive looked to the side and laid his eyes on you, seeing how beautiful you are. He stopped staring when he thought you were going to turn around and face his direction. You were just tucking your (h/c) hair behind your ear. The wind roared over strongly and one of the papers in Clive’s hands flew over and slapped across your face. Clive gasped and grabbed the paper from your face. You blinked and noticed your lipstick left a mark on the white lined-form paper, you giggled while looking at it. Clive then noticed the lipstick mark on the paper, he pointed at it and laughed when you got on the train to work. Clive was wondering where you disappeared to until he saw you on the train. You looked out of the glass window and smiled at him as he smiled at you back.

When Clive arrived at his workplace, his boss wasn’t pleased with him for not being punctual. Clive got scolded for the fifth time, he sighed and walked over to his desk. His boss handed him a bunch of paperwork to him. Clive stared at the papers in stress and looked out the window. His eyes widened when he spotted you in the other building, you were working into your office and was busy talking to the customers. Clive opened the window next to him and tried to call out to you as he waved but you couldn’t hear him as you were too focused at work. Clive caused a bit of disturbance to his co-workers, they all looked at him sternly and just went back to continuing their work. The boss stuck his head out of his office to see what was going on. Clive sat back down and thought of an idea. 

He created a paper airplane using one of the workpapers. Clive threw it out of the window and watched to see if it can catch your attention but it was unsuccessful. Clive started again and again, creating more paper airplanes. He used his last one, the one with the lipstick stain on it. He was about to launch it in the air until it accidentally flew out of his hand. All of his co-workers stared at him unpleased, not pleased with Clive messing around. The boss was not happy with Clive’s doings so he handed him more paperwork. He saw you leaving the building. Clive wasn’t going to give up and so he rushed out of work to come and get to you. You were nowhere to be found. Clive knocked off the airplane of the mail box in anger and grabbed it and threw it in the air. 

As the paper airplane landed along with other paper airplanes, the wind picked up strongly and roared over lifting all the paperplanes in the air as if they were dancing gracefully. They flew all over to Clive to guide him to his first love while the other comes and find you at the flower bouquet store. You spotted a paper airplane in the sunflower section and recognised the lipstick mark on it, you picked it up and it flied up in the air as you followed it. Clive got on the train while the paperplanes was attached on him and you was on the other one. The two of you arrived at the same time, you held the paper airplane in your hands and it flew over to the person you thought you would never see again. Clive. Both of you gazed other’s eyes and couldn’t help but fall for each other. After the two of you bumped into each other once again, you decided to go to a delightful café with Clive. You find him very adorable, especially his quirks. You laughed at his one of his terrible jokes which somehow made you laugh your head off. You and Clive had a wonderful, amazing time together ❤️
