reflection

the process i used through photoshop and indesign and illustrator was complex and when we started tumblr it was all a relief. I started quite conerned of the progression and the fast pace but I caught up everytime I enjoyed the learning and even though I had two years on photoshop the new skills were well easier. I knew about the cutting and pasting in photoshop and had used I for my quick image task i learnt that to export can be used to link up documents through platforms. I encounted the problem of curves with bezier with the penguins feet and the the 3d effect of them I quickly leart that with option after curving it you can create a curve effect which was usefull with the first I designed and the curves of the sheep. I ha the help with the helper on quite a few of them and i barely looked back at the tumblr to get guidence. But I did through new activities I learnt that there are new approches to anything expecially the lock layer mask thing ------ and that the curvers were much easier with bezier once press option. I learnt exporting both other pairs and the teachers helped with me moving through tasks. I would like to improve on looking back a my notes and making a more indepth image through studies on this computer i could only use, since not downloaded on laptop. I enjoyed the guidence and all the work toos that help me progress through the ending tasks. The book work helped towards graphic design aswelll as mysef. I used images through the interenet and the help f the teacher. Still not good at files my stengths are now bezier ool definetly and i got super good and knowing a linked file for exporting. i would use it towards any cartoon design in the future and aswell as all the different strengths all the platforms gave me to intertwine work as i go on through the embeding link my goals for the booklet were to get it done but i wanted enough more than 2 just to callenge myself i wanted to record things in tumbler which i did and have more understanding words to recap look over. The challenging moments were the task the girl under the towles imge with the green tint. and another was understanding the locations of everything and remebering the process. The most imporant thing take from this is imdefinetly more creative and smarter at technolgy than i thought. The thing that got in the way of my process was i forgeted alot and my notes didnt make sence only at the time they did and that i didnt download indesign and all the platforms on my laptop. I wanted to help but i could brely help myself. The teachers and pairs around me were the bigges thing to of helped me. This was useful and it made me apreciate the subject and area i signed up for. The EDITH glasses are an invention in the fictional Marvel Cinematic Universe. They are an AI tool created by Tony Stark/Iron Man that he gifts to Peter Parker/Spiderman. According to the Marvel description, these glasses are an “augmented reality security, defense and artificial tactical intelligence system… housed in a pair of sunglasses, E.D.I.T.H. gave its users access to Stark Industries' global satellite network along with an arsenal of missiles and drones.”

After reading about Google Glass and Project Aria, my mind immediately thought of these glasses because they are similar in their design and function (perhaps not weapons, but similar ideas of technological capabilities from the glasses). It’s interesting that these concepts have been explored in science fiction movies, perhaps a nod to how distant and unrealistic these technologies feel. It’s further curious to note that these technologies have been glorified by superheroes, though in this movie, the glasses do fall into the hands on a villain and those effects are also explored.

However, the dangerous effects of such technolgies are real, here, and go beyond waging drone war. For everyday people, and for AR glasses that are used as cameras more often the weapons, the issues of privacy and surveillance are front and center. Both the Google Glass and Project Aria reading reference the dangers involved in tracking and recording, especially without the consent of the individuals being recorded. This is one of the big distinctions drawn in ‘Connected by Camera’ — ultimately camgirls and camboys choose to be on camera and give permission for others to have a window into their lives. But technologies that integrate recording into glasses take away that consent and permission process from the public.

AI and AR applications will likely only grow in the future, and it’s likely that a product with extended camera and recording functionality might make its way into market. How we design and moderate such products is an unresolved and pressing issue. It only goes to show: with great power comes great responsibility.

i dont know if i want to continue without her, i dont have anybody else, my social circle is her and her fiancee, and thats not a v healthy mentality but its the truth, and idk shes my best friend why would i want to go on without my best friend, nobody wants that, i lost one of my best friends in high school i dont want to deal with that again, i can’t handle dreaming that shes alive when shes not (she’s still alive but im terrified one day she wont be and that the one day will be here sooner than i think) like we got all this technolgy and my best friend is the one who’s gonna eat the dust? that’s not fair.

WEB3 AND THE FUTURE OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

I came across this article about the music industry and its future the other day and thought it was interesting for many reasons. The main one is that it really emphasized the relation between listeners and artists and how the future of this relationship could be with a new version of the web and the ‘Web3’. In a few words, this concept of Web3 refers to what the internet will become in the future, and how it will be more “decentralized – rather than controlled by governments and corporations, as is the case with today’s internet – and, to some extent, connected to the concept of the metaverse." (Bernard Marr, 2022).

In this article (and in the youtube video linked to it that I highly recommend watching for anyone interested in the music industry), Bernard Marr argues that the next version of the internet will allow people to reconnect with music and emphasizes the social aspect of the experience. I believe we tend to forget that the heart of music is sharing. It is a social experience, it's connecting songs to experiences, sharing songs with others, listening with others, thinking of others while listening but more importantly music is human beings sharing a part of their soul to other humans. This article and video really emphasizes how the future of the music industry will reconnect this.

More than that, the Web3 will allow artists to have more fair revenues and royalties. The “middlemen” as they call it, refers to what basically fills the gap needed to get music from artists to audiences (records store, streaming platform etc). What’s interesting is that Bernard Marr imagines a future where these “middlemen” will be way less relevant and hence this would empower artists and solidify the relationship between listeners and the latters.

Although the article is pretty blurry overall, and only relies on broad ideas, the youtube video and the discussion he has with other professionals really allows us to understand the picture of the future of the music industry.
