okay gringos i’ll say this slowly and you can repeat after me: NOT👏ALL👏LATINOS👏ARE👏POC!!!
latino is not a race but an ethnicity, shoving a white ass latine fc in your character and calling it poc while giving yourself a pat on the back for being OOOH SOOO INCLUSIVE isn’t the hot take you think it is bruv????
it’s even worse when ACTUAL LATINOS (especially those born and raised in LAC, y’know, those who actually know how living in latin america works) tell you it’s insensitive and wrong to do that and you straight up try and tell them that they are wrong and dont know what they are talking about???
lets get real y’all, if you do that you probably didn’t even want a POC fc in the first place, you just wanted that circlejerk of praise and shit for being ~inclusive~ so please, take this advice from your fave latine friend: ffs take your rachel dolezal bs elsewhere, ok??

me, thinking about myungdae and his feralness and comes to the conclusion on the bus: oh my god he's a f*cking cat
evidence:
a. cats require consistent stimulation to get excess energy out ie. play w/ them and give them toys = myungdae has his rubik cubes b. if they like you they will give you prey they hunted = he will deliver you wanted criminals/bad ppl who need to be punished as presents c. may scratch or hiss if petted/touched too much = he can get stabby :/ d. feral cats are not socialized and therefore will avoid humans = myungdae hates crowded places and will do everything in his power to escape said places e. they both like birds and watching birds f. they can be territorial, both of spaces and of people; once they know you're their human, they don't like to share = there are select spots that myungdae will only hang out, everywhere else; also if he's close to u, good luck getting rid of him u won't

Let’s talk about “A Guy Like You”
This might be an unpopular opinion(??) but I genuinely think that “A Guy like You” is a really sweet song, but it was put in the worst possible place that it could have been. I also want to say, I believe that part of appreciating a piece of media is also exploring criticism of it, and I love this movie a lot. I say this with all the love in my heart.
Thoughts and suggestions below!!
I feel like it has merit as an encouraging song for Quasimodo and his self-esteem. I think it’s well written, well composed, and the voices sound great. It definitely has good intentions for Quasi. But it’s in the wrong place at the wrong time, and like I’ve said before, it absolutely kills the momentum of “Hellfire” and the burning of Paris.
“Heaven’s Light” leading into “Hellfire” is SO masterfully done, I absolutely love how it contrasts Quasimodo and Frollo, and the music and animation is phenomenal. And keeping up the frightening visuals and motives expressed in “Hellfire,” Frollo and his obsessive hunt for Esmeralda is also amazingly executed, with the Latin background singing and the fiery imagery really adding to the terror of the scenes.
This is the pivoting point in the film where Stuff Gets Extra Serious, and if we went directly from the hunt through Paris to the part where Esmeralda brings an injured Phoebus to Quasimodo, it would have kept up that tension so well. Combine that with the brilliantly done—and very tense—scene with Frollo visiting Quasimodo with grapes, the urgency to warn Esmeralda in the Court of Miracles, the Court of Miracles scene, and the stellar climax of the film, and you get a second half of the movie that feels faster and even more dramatically intense than the first half, a natural movement of the story pushing forward.
I feel like it would make more sense if it was placed before “Heaven’s Light” and “Hellfire,” after Quasimodo helps Esmeralda escape. Like, after Quasimodo makes Phoebus leave, the gargoyles congratulate him, “Way to go, lover boy!” Quasimodo bashfully protests, “Lover boy? Oh, no, no. Look, I appreciate what you’re all trying to do, but let’s not fool ourselves. Ugliest face in all of Paris, remember? I don’t think I’m her type.” To which the gargoyles respond by trying to raise his hopes up, encouraging him by singing “A Guy Like You” (of course, adjusting the lyrics with Paris being on fire, which are not fitting for the plot right now)
Have “A Guy Like You” as this fun, bombastic song hyping up Quasimodo. Then, in a quiet aside, Quasimodo inwardly continues to express some doubts about his chances of being with Esmeralda, while still holding on to his wistful and innocent hope. He sings about his romantic desires in a more soft and gentle way with “Heaven’s Light.” And cut out the gargoyle parts during “Heaven’s Light” so we can have a greater emphasis on Quasimodo singing, focusing on his affection and appreciation for Esmeralda. Which then, in turn, is sharply contrasted with “Hellfire” and Frollo’s emotional torment and obsessive lust.
Tumblr media
I watched the Director’s Commentary and I definitely get where they were coming from—setting up this song for Quasimodo right before he sees Esmeralda and Phoebus kissing, and gets his heart broken—and making that whiplash all the more stinging. But I still feel like that set up for the fall could have been accomplished without a tone-breaking song. Maybe instead of the gargoyles singing a cheery, upbeat song in this very dark and heavy moment, we have Quasimodo look out worriedly at the city on fire, talking to the gargoyles about how concerned he is about Esmeralda, explaining just how much he cares about her and loves her.
Continue the film as normal with Esmeralda coming to the bell tower and asking Quasimodo to help hide Phoebus, then Esmeralda and Phoebus kiss and the reprise of “Heaven’s Light” plays over the sight of a heartbroken Quasimodo so we still get the emotions of the scene, his hopes dashed.
At the end of the film, Quasimodo finds acceptance, kindness, and companionship. And this concludes this plot thread of the movie :)
What do you think? Do any of you have different opinions? (I’d love to hear your thoughts!)

Breakdown/analysis of the old Danny-Vlad body swap nickelodeon comic ¨Bring Back My Body to Me!¨
For those who don't know, Danny Phantom had some comics that got published in the early 2000's in the Nickelodeon magazine. One of them being a comic that involves Danny and Vlad switching bodies written by two writers of the show, Marty Isenberg and Sib Ventress + another writer.
You can find the full comic pages here in the DP Wikia: https://dannyphantom.fandom.com/wiki/Nickelodeon_Magazine
I'm writing this post to make some commentary of the comic since it haven't seen any post talking about it. It has some things i found funny and others interesting. The screencaps were taken from the DP Wikia.
Let's start:
Tumblr media
Okay, so the first page introduces us to what Danny and Vlad are planning to do in the story. Danny is going to a dance and trying to ask Paulina while Vlad is stealing from the Fright Knight. For some reason Danny is still trying to get Paulina to pay him attention. I wonder when this comic was intended to take place since Danny's crush for Paulina was something from very early in the series and over time he got over it. Also why is Vlad in human form in the Ghost World? He later transforms but there isn't any reason for him to be as Masters in here.
Tumblr media
Okay, but here is a thing that is inaccurate: Danny doesn't beat Vlad because he is more powerful than him, that rarely happens. Danny usually beats Vlad by either tricking him (Maternal Instincts) or with someone else helping him (Kindred Spirits). I think the only time he does this is in ¨Phantom Planet¨ by freezing Vlad, and that itself is for a minute.
Tumblr media
Why Plasmius does have dark pupils in this comic. It's super cursed. It would have been less of a problem if they were something like white instead of black.
Tumblr media
This is an interesting concept to me because i don't recall the series exploring the concept of what happens if a human-ghost hybrid uses powers or amulets that are intended for full ghosts use only. I feel like it is an idea i haven't seen much done in fanfics neither. It opens to the idea of the difference between full ghosts and halfas and how they react to the Ghost World.
Tumblr media
I really like this narrator commentary about how ghosts are constanly showing up in Amity Park thanks to the Ghost Fenton Portal being open. The narration is funny in this comic.
Tumblr media
I find it funny Danny using the mocking nickname ¨Plas¨ to refer to Plasmius in this panel. And Danny is so small. His head is the size Plasmius' hand. He is baby ghost size in comparison to others.
Tumblr media
Okay, so when the two touch the spirit stealer at the same time their... spirits? get switched. This was a secondary effect that Vlad was warned about by the Fright Knight earlier. What i don't understand is what gets switched in here. Their consciousness/inner selfs? Their minds? It is interesting that these are represented in their ghosts forms and not in their human forms too.
From what i can guess is that the spirit stealer may have mixed their ghost halfs in some way since in the next panels their are both seen wearing each half of the amulet. Since it is intended to be a ¨glitch¨ that is how i think it works.
Tumblr media
(Insert spiderman pointing meme here)
Tumblr media
I kinda like this callback to ¨Splitting Images¨ episode. It is a nice detail that wasn't necessary for what it is a standalone comic but is still cool.
Tumblr media
One thing i appreciate in this comic is how you can easily tell who is inside the body by the way they speak and their body language. You can see that Vlad is in Danny's body because of the detailed use of vocabulary that is so specific about Vlad. Or the way he refers to Dash after he pulls a prank on him. I also appreciate Sam pointing out why Vlad!Danny is wearing half of the amulet. It is weird that Vlad didn't pick up that he was wearing it until now. However, i think it does make sense in the context considering that he changed bodies with a 14 year old.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, i don't know why there is suddenly a timer for this and how the Fright Knight knows about this, unless something like this happened before. I suppose is one of those ¨ghost amulet plot convinience logic¨ things. By the way, i do like Fright Knight's role in this comic. He is pretty cool in here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's weird that Vlad doesn't consider what Danny is telling him here. You would think that he would get suspicious after he saw how he only had half of the amulet and switched bodies with Danny but he doesn't question it too much. It does make sense to an extent though. Vlad probably believes that it just some trick to make him give his half of the amulet. He would be skeptical of what Danny is telling him.
Tumblr media
They only had to put the pieces back together? That easy? Huh, well, okay then.
Tumblr media
Go Fright Knight, kick his ass.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Dash getting scared is fun, i'm not a fan how Danny usually gets in trouble or bad ending in some episodes just because. I kinda could make a a bit of exception in this one since Dash got thrown into baskball ring for something that it wasn't that serious. Still, it something that bothers me.
In all i do enjoy this comic. While it has plot holes from what you can expect from this plot, it has some funny interactions and interesting concepts like amulets having a different effect in halfas. Part of me wonders how interactions with other characters would play out in this scenario, like Vlad!Danny interacting with Jack or Danny!Vlad with Skulker. had the comic been longer.

That is correct, I didn't think the Mosaic law would be a practical way of running a society but that's what my client wanted so that's what I wrore
I don't really get the joke here, so I'm just going to take an opportunity to add another fact I found pretty interesting:
It was common in the Ancient Near East to create codes of law for display purposes (and outside it--cf. the Twelve Tables). This wasn't so much so that the common person could know and understand the law, because literacy rates were pretty low, but served a similar function as monumental architecture, to display the power of the ruler and at least notionally their justice. But in practice, the law as it actually functioned could be pretty different from the law as these monuments proclaimed it.
I think it's interesting to consider the law-as-a-symbol. There was some incidental discourse crossing my dash recently about whether "law" as a general concept protects the weak from the strong, or whether it legitimates the rule of the elites. And I think the answer is that is obviously does neither: that a society has a system of law tells you nothing about how that system functions, and you have to dig into the nitty-gritty details to determine whether the society has "rule of law" (which is good) or "rule by law" (which is bad). The former is, hopefully, a system where the law binds everybody, attempts to be fair, and there is at least some effort to enforce it equally; the latter is where law is a justification for a system power that makes no pretense at that sort of thing.
And I think rule by law is a very common state of affairs, especially pre-French Revolution! I might be generous and say pre-Enlightenment at best. Because before you have an ideological starting point of "ok, everybody should be equal before the law and the law should be impartially enforced," one-off privileges, aristocracies, and random exemptions from various rights and duties are pretty normal, and one of the major functions of law is to codify these inequities to make sure the king or his judiciary respects them. There is a reason one of the big components of revolutionary projects historically has been administrative reform, because in redrawing internal boundaries and revising old law codes, you can do away with these inequities and legally enshrined hierarchies.
And that pattern of inequity, of legally enshrined hierarchy, is of course thoroughly present in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. As Dan McClellan points out, agency in these codes flows downhill and it flattens everything in its path. The agency of men erases that of women: the law treats what happens if a man violates the property rights of another man over the women under his dominion (his daughters or wives), but the agency of the women ("consent" in modern parlance) simply makes no difference to the law. The only place women's sexual agency shows up in the law is in the one situation where a woman is interacting with a creature lesser than her, i.e., if she lies with an animal.
Even in the European Middle Ages I think there were real disjuncts between the worldview of the people using these law codes for devotional purposes and the worldview of their authors. In the modern era, of course, those disjuncts are yawning chasms, and as a result you get some really weak apologetic attempts to try to reconcile modern ethics with (again, impractical, unworkable, entirely theoretical) Iron Age legal theory. But there are lots of places in the Bible--both in the law codes and in the narrative portions--where I think the disjunct is so great that the aftercomers can't really make heads or tails of the worldviews of their predecessors. This is where the apologists (and before them, the commentaries of the Talmud) often have to invent major details out of whole cloth to try to turn the situation into one that makes sense to them. It would be better, and easier to construct a more consistent system of ethics, to just jettison the bits that clearly aren't applicable to the concerns of your community--but then of course once you admit that what parts of your scripture you do and don't accept are contingent on their relevance to your community, it is no longer the timeless and authoritative book from God, and it ceases to be a useful way of structuring power.
And as with codes of law, holy writ is (among other things) about structuring power! Otherwise all religion would approximately resemble Unitarian Universalism, an honest, gentle, thoughtful faith that is approximately irrelevant.

Tips and Resources for curating your fandom experience across platforms
Hi loves,
I wanted to write up a curating resource post for fandom spaces, so here are some things I’ve learned along the way, and though only you can decide what your digital boundaries look like, I do hope that for anyone looking for them, this list might find its way to you.
For tumblr
How to make your DM’s only open to people you follow
How to make it so only people you follow, or people who follow you for a week can reply
How to have your ask box open, but closed to anon’s - no longer needed, there's a simple toggle button near the ask settings for whether to allow anons or not :)
Use the filtering function for your dash (this is also an option for a blocked user - who you might still see if a mutual reblogs them.  You can add their name to your filtered list, and then their post will be hidden on your dash).  This tip brought to you by @quiquimora tumblr resource post (great post if you’re new to tumblr)
For AO3
How to filter out keywords that might appear in summary or author notes, but not in tags (handy for when an author is trying to understandably avoid spoilers in the tags)
A script option for filtering (especially nice if there are certain tags you'll always avoid across fandoms).
Muting authors (a nice option if you don’t necessarily mind engaging with authors in comments, etc, but don’t want to see their content) - this secondary link includes a how to video you can now use the muting feature on AO3, no scripts needed :)
You can block authors now on AO3 as well, and here’s a tweet thread that shows you how, but also what it does, and doesn’t do
If you’d like to avoid certain ship pairings
How to use a few extra search symbols to filter out certain content
Quick tip: don't forget to save your curated search results in either a bookmark, or as a link on your mobile home screen - that way you can just do all the filtering once, vs typing it all over again every time you're loading up AO3
For twitter
Muting words/content
How to set up various privacy settings
For discord
Privacy & Server settings master list
Accessibility settings
Please feel free to reblog with your own tips!
Under the cut, a few extra tips for dipping into new fandom spaces:
Interact with reblogs and hashtags (this isn’t the end all to be all, but one way to showcase your sense of humor with commentary, or digitally applaud a content creator). People can get to know you a bit ;)
If you enjoy content creating, sign up for fandom events: big bangs, reverse big bangs, zines - a fantastic way to connect with several people at once sharing the same hyperfixation as you <3
Look up certain hashtags in someone’s blogs - not in the sense of digging up ten years of posts, but a quick search if you have squicks and triggers that someone might blog about a lot.  It’s not a judgment on them, for many might not follow you for the things you post about either.  It’s just self care to be aware of things you do not want to see on your dash and keep your following list to things that bring you joy - nothing says you can’t do the occasional reblog, or even connect with them on other platforms!
On the flipside - block liberally.  If you look up their blog and you both are on opposite ends of a spectrum on a topic?  Want to ensure they can never say such things to you in DM’s, etc?  Block.
And guess what?  People have the right to do the same to you.  Do not under any circumstances block evade.  This includes going to other platforms to engage with them if you know you’ve been blocked.  Just.don’t.do.it.please.
And if you've made it to the end, you get a digital cookie or hug of your choice 🍪🫂

@jilymicrofics | February Prompt List | No.10: Command
Words: 881
Read it on AO3
“Potter can use his quidditch voice with me anytime….” A girl spoke on the other side of the stall. Lily could hear that the girl had cupped a hand over her mouth in a futile attempt to stifle giggles with her friends. She wasn’t supposed to be overhearing a gaggle of girls gossiping about Potter in the bathroom. But when nature calls you have to answer. She wasn’t particularly interested in pushing past the gossips in order to wash her hands, so she hid in the stall and waited. What these girls obsession with Potter was she had no idea. Sure he’d filled out more over the summer so he was now more lean than lanky. Anyone would have to be blind to have not noticed the way his shoulder and arm muscles had bulked. But he was a chaser for crying out loud, he needed muscle to be half decent. And James was more than half decent at quidditch she had to admit. He had raw talent but he also worked hard for it. Having been granted the position as captain the Gryffindor team was now doing twice the usual amount of practises than usual during quidditch season. Potter was nothing if not dedicated to the position. As for his “quidditch voice” she hadn’t the foggiest what this lot was talking about. Though she had a sneaking suspicion this group was part of the crowd of curious on lookers that had been booted off the pitch during this mornings practice. Potter hated an audience for practises. He’d made that extremely clear after the hoards from other houses had gathered in the stands to watch trials earlier in the year. The only exception to that rule was his mates and even then that was by invitation only. He’d been in a right foul mood at breakfast. Complaining about how Hufflepuff had spies on the side line this morning. But listening to the current commentary it sounded like these girls minds were far from stealing quidditch strategy. “If only he had eyes for more than Evans. Honestly it’s a real waste. If she’s not willing to ride his broomstick that’s her problem not ours.” Potter had only publicly asked her out once, and privately twice before that. But that was the end of that. They were borderline friends now. Aided by his prowess for potions and her being in need of a new partner this year. If Potter wasn’t interested in a flirtatious rendezvous with any of these girls it was hardly her fault. If they wanted to date him so badly they should be more forthcoming about it to his face. “I bet she’d change her tune if she heard him on the pitch.” Lily listened as footsteps echoed off the cold stone and the bathroom door swung open and closed, leaving the space empty and quiet again. She poked her head out of the stall gingerly just to be sure, before she made a mad dash for the basins.
“Remus!” Lily greeted her fellow prefect cheerily as she saw him walking ahead of her down the third floor corridor. Remus and Peter stopped in their stead and turned back to face her. “Morning Lily!” “You boys off to the library? I could use someone going over my runes essay.” “Sorry Lil. We were just heading down to the pitch. I’d be happy to take a look at it after lunch.” Remus assured her with a smile. “Oh, that’s alright. Would you mind if I joined you? I could use a little sun and fresh air.” Remus and Peter shared a pointed look. “I’m sure James wouldn’t mind in the slightest,” Peter answered.
James noticed them the second they took their place in the stands. Or more accurately he noticed her as soon as they entered the stands. It was hard not to miss that flash of auburn hair. He was accustomed to his dorm mates at practise but as far as he was aware Lily Evans hadn’t ever watched quidditch except for game days. She had a piece of parchment she was handing over to Remus. Ah. Yes that made sense. Lily and Remus shared ancient tunes together. She often asked for him to approve of her homework. That didn’t however make her presence any less distracting to him. He needed his focus on his team if they were going to outwit Ravenclaw the following weekend. So he turned his back to her and attempted to push her to the back of his mind for the time being. “Keep your elbow loose McKinnon! Atta girl!” He yelled to his fellow chaser, who was taking penalty shots at their keeper.
Lily’s visceral reaction to James’ shout surprised her. Suddenly she knew exactly what those girls in the bathroom had been on about. Usually the crowd was too loud to hear Potter shouting plays on match day. But now she could hear his every word. Potter was certainly commanding. She felt her face flush and was pleased he had his back to her so as not to see it. “Would you like my ear muffs Lily? You look cold. Your ears and cheeks are a little red.” “Oh… no you’re quite alright Peter, I’m plenty warm enough. Thank you.”
