Someone help why is it only This One Song Xions Theme from Kimgdom Hearts is able to get me to focus ;-;

I found a 10 hour version which may well be life changing, I've been using the 30 minute version for years to focus and have to replay it constantly then I get sidetracked during that ToT

I'm sure it helping me focus has to do with it being an instrumental that's just the right kind of speed and variation of sounds. But I for the life of me can't repeat the ability to focus with any other song ;-; does anyone know ANY songs similar to this one????! Shes most popular now for "running up that hill", off of "the hounds of love", but all her other music is SOOOO much more interesting than that song. running up the hill is a wonderful song and it's written insanely well, but it by far is her least interesting song. (at least stranger things didn't pick a different song of hers tbh i think i would've imploded..) Kate also occasionally used her music as a way to speak about social/political issues, like in army dreamers and the dreaming. yeah so my childhood friend of 15 years chronically leaves me on read especially after i have a lot to say which really sucks ass because i actually used to have a whole system of different apps i texted her through so i wouldn't overwhelm one chat with all my spam and she would have time to read it when she wanted. but then a few years ago she was like "no you can spam me in the main app !! you can infodump and vent whenever you want !!" so i said "omg cool !!" and infodumped. and she fucking. left me on read and NEVER acknowledged it at all. and she still does it !!!!!!! that's actually partly why i post on social media at all, especially tumblr bc there's some random person who will want to read all that. anyways yeah im on read again and it's been twelve hours. she HAS spoken in a group chat where i can see her talking tho. which is even more sick rad and cool/sar

okay tjis has been sitting in my ask box for a while just cuz ive been really scatterbrained and haven't been able to answer

I think, first and foremost, Micky gets CRAZY in the 70's. like he gets fucking nuts he goes all out. he gets really into led zeppelin and stuff like that, he's always got a loud record playing in the pad, he starts dressing in diy crop tops and tight, ass accentuating, ball crushing jeans (of course with the large bell bottom) he uh.starts hooking up(fucking) a lot with lots of different dudes n chicks (he did that in the 60's too but not as frequently) and over all he just gets insane!! definitely starts going to loud rock shows

mike is a TOTAL contrast to that (like he usually is to Micky) I think mike becomes much much more subdued, much quieter, way less inclined to craziness, much more mellowed out. his mental health starts improving a lot more, therapy and medication really help him manage his depression, cptsd and anxiety, and overall he really is just very mellow. but at the same time he tends to get very very stressed out because of Micky. he gets very worried about him going to loud rock shows cuz he fears him getting hurt by someone crazier than him, also he just can't stand the loud ass zeppelin records (he isn't a fan of the new hard rock) and also he just gets dragged around a lot by micky to do stuff, and its always really funny cuz compared to micky, mike always looks likes someones totally square dad (and acts like it) i think he manages to get over his problems with pent up anger, or atleast learns to manage it a lot better and is much less prone to wanting to kick peoples asses (hes got a very Hank Hill type of Im Gonna Kick Your Ass thing going on still tbh)

davy! I think davy definitely mellows out too, isn't as crazy about chasing chicks, but still gets with some here n there. he's totally mickys rock show buddy though, and has definitely gotten in fights and kicked some people's asses. he's small but he's full of muscle and lots of anger and competitiveness, so he's probably been pulled off some poor unfortunate soul who made the mistake of picking on him by Micky (who probably fucks said poor unfortunate soul later.sorry) but he's also very good going out with mike too, and can be very very calm and peaceful with him

peter gets REEAALLY into the soft rock scene and gets very into the band america ! he also enjoys some of the softer songs by bands like chicago. I think he also enjoys working out :) he gets a gym membership and works out sometimes, he very much believes in the mental benefits of working out, and also loves having strong muscular arms to hug his friends ❤️ he's veeeery 70's hippie. Just like mike, he becomes much more mellow and shy and subdued, and the two are seen hanging out very often because of their very compatible temperaments. oh I know peter DEFINITELY gets very into fleetwood mac

over all when all of them are together it can be quite a mixed bag, especially cuz of Micky who's fucking nuts, amd davy who is easily coaxed into also being fucking nuts, and then there's mike and peter who just want everything to be calm and still. and despite mike and micky being so much more different from each other than ever at this point, their friendship never truly suffers for it. all of them only just get closer and closer through the years

I started First Love on Netflix against my better judgement

Points against it:

1. I hate first love stories, I think the idea of ending up with one's first love is horrifying af (and while it can work in some people's real lives I like to avoid the fictional storyline like the plague)

2. I don't like fluff romance and that name implied it. But mostly first point, because I truly truly hate "fall back in love with childhood love again" stories. Hate hate hate. My only exception Sometimes is if the story is teens falling in love (so no adults going back to exes), or if it's friends to lovers and they weren't lovers prior (like Bad Buddy) and tjis second case ONLY if they were friends (cause I also nearly never can handle the "ran into each other as children and connected, now falling in love again" trope which is rampant in like 90% of cdramas and kdramas and a major reason I rarely watch fluff romance dramas)

But... the points for it?

1. Opened by saying it was inspired by 2 Utada Hikaru songs I like, specifically right in this time period of my life where I've been playing tons of Utada Hikaru songs again so. It feels fated.

2. I saw Testuya Nomura was set decorator and while I hope to high heaven its just a similar name and has nothing to do with the Tetsuya Nomura I'm very familiar with, the idea of kingdom hearts creator Testuya Nomura going to go decorate a romance show set made me laugh hysterically

3. The show opens with a regular aged adult woman, who it's implied has a kid and is over 30 and single, with a not glamorous quite realistic job, and this is not the typical romance drama lead. I appreciate the way she feels like a real person I'd know instead of a perfect person or the kind of hyper rich person I'd never meet. I also like the shows choice to go for set design realism as there was the choice to go polished upper middle class bright sets (which many a show does like Kieta Hatsukoi and Heartstopper both go this route), but instead it went for regular looking job and imperfect clothes and muted color scheme and basically more realistic over glamorize (it's okay to do the brighter than life most shows do, it's quite normal even Teen Wolf does it and Pretty Little Liars and even Buffy The Vampire Slayer put its characters in designer clothes). I personally like the choice for realism over polished beautified in this case, because it implies this will not be "fluff romance" which eases some of what could have made me hate this. It reminds me of My Beautiful Man in the color scheme and set choices.

4. Is the lead guy the same actor who plays Ruroni Kenshin???? I only saw half of Ruroni Kenshin but I loved what I saw and the actor did amazing and. Idk I went into First Love expecting a lead actor I'd be neutral towards or dislike if things go fluff city. But this guy... OH MY GOD I LOOKED IT UP IT IS THE SAME GUY FROM RURONI KENSHIN!!! ITS TAKERU SATOH oh my fucking god!!!! Well firstly, Kenshin really made him look delicate and lovely and just kind of otherworldly almost with grace. This show? He looks rough and real life like some dude you run into at the supermarket that gets up and walks off without hearing your apology. I knew that lovely face looked familiar though. oh my god ITS HIM. Well I can say with comfort now he is a solid actor, so his performance will be enjoyable. I can't believe it's him! I know like 4 japanese actors and I just happen to accidentally tend to watch things they're in apparently.

5. I'm pretty sure the cab ride sampled a Utada Hikaru love where their first love is called a sad story. And I sincerely sincerely hope this means the show will NOT go fluff city ahhh we were first loves so now we are destined to be together~~~ since "sad story" implies they broke up for a reason, they grew apart and aren't still friends for a reason. Which I hope means, in a best case (unless the writers can do better than my hopes which hey that'd be cool): they broke up as first loves for whatever sad reason. They remeet as adults and it's a bit bittersweet. They have to gradually get to know each other again and fall in love, it's not fate or a sure thing - they have to earn that love again and build it as adults who understand stuff kids didn't and can avoid past mistakes. And perhaps they also have to confront the pain of why they stopped talking before this newfound getting to know each other happens. That's best case I can imagine? Maybe writers can do better. Please DO NOT SPOIL ME.

So yeah. I'm terrified this show will go the fluff city first love idealized route I am absolutely horrified by.

Uhhh let's see !! I think first of all , this episode manages to REALLY set the fact that ,,,,, Ice King USED to be "normal" . And it also enforces that Ice King ISNT Simon . He's got these vague ideas similar to Simon -- he knows he cares for Marceline , he knows he's in love with a "Princess" , and HIS EXPRESSION WHEN HE SINGS IN "I REMEMBER YOU" -- he feels SAD reading that letter Simon wrote . But ,,, he just isn't Simon . No matter how many times Marcy calls Simon's name , or shows him pictures , or reads those sad letters of a man who was slowly losing himself -- Ice King won't remember it .

This episode also grapples a bit with Marcy's feelings in regards to Simon and Ice King . She ,,, struggles to accept / understand that Ice King isn't Simon . It's been 1,000 years , but it's clear a part of her wants Ice King to be Simon sooo badly . But I think another part of her knows he isn't-- but thats personal interpretation . I just sort of interpret , her avoidance of him was because she didn't want to have to accept that he isn't Simon -- therefore , by denying it , she's,,,,,, kinda having to accept it , in a way . Which maybe doesn't make sense /lh

IT ALSO ,, MAN , it breaks my heart how she cries when singing I Remember You ,,,, this episode just captures so clearly how much Marcy loved Simon . And the letter captures a part of Simon that we don't get to SEE much ,,,,,, he was a scared , sad man . Honestly , I don't think I even NEED to elaborate past the point of "Marceline , is it just you and me in the wreckage of the world ?" BUT I WILL . SMILES . FIRST , I think calling it "the wreckage of the world" insane , and sort of captures the feeling after the Great Mushroom War .

And , "That must be so confusing for a little girl" SOBS ,,,,, he's not selfish in this scenario . He worries so much for Marceline , and cares for her so dearly .

"I know you're going to need me here with you , but I'm losing myself and I'm afraid you're going to lose me too" I CANNOT FUCKING ADD TO THIS . HE CARES FOR HER SO MUCH . He worries so much for her ,,,,, he's afraid bc Marceline is losing him ,,

skipping around a bit : "I need to save you , but who's going to save me?" BETTY ..... betty will ... but also that's such a heart-wrenching line . His focus is Marcy -- he's worried for her , he NEEDS to keep her safe (that mentality is why he kept putting on the crown ,,,) , but ,,,, if he's losing himself , who would protect him the way he protects her ?

He was probably desperate for something to change -- or , at least , for his mind to STOP changing . But he couldn't stop it ,, he couldn't do ANYTHING except ,,,, feel himself slowly going mad , and know that all of tjis could have been prevented so , so very easily .

fun, upbeat, the mv has a nice laid back "aesthetic" feel to it. the only ppl who didnt like it were miserable newjeans stans! 😭

i actually liked the chorus... doesnt have much replay value but i do listen it whenever it comes on

its catchy af and the message is so REAL! ngl at first i thought they made that word up for the song but i looked it up and its french for "home" so 😭😭 extra points for making me think they came up with that word themselves

its cunty! catchy! i definitely got it on the first listen! (points off for the yummy yummy yummy in your tummy tummy tummy line tho)

8. bop bop! - viviz

if u hate this song you hate fun tbh! the thing i loved about this song is that it felt less like a debut song and more like a comeback song. we love you viviz.

7. good boy gone bad - txt

i had to pretend like i didnt get it on the 1st-and-a-half listen bcuz i was still very much in my txt anti era. but now im normal so i can appreciate what this song means to me ❤

6. jikjin - treasure

why were so many people pretending like they didnt fuck heavy with this song. perhaps broaden your mindset like. [korean korean] jikjiiiiiiinnnn woooooooooooooo. anw it feels like pop rocks to my brain and in the best way possible so its here.

the lyrics, production, that violin, everything about this song was an instant hit. no im not just saying that because blackpink was my first group. their comeback this year ate and served cunt severely. we love you blackpink.

ms. im nayeon put the POP in kPOP with tjis song! and it was her SOLO DEBUT? PLEASEEEEEEE........ i love the girly cutesy bubblegum-y fun of this one. so. so. so. much. like everything about it SO iconic. she not only solidified herself as a capable soloist but as a pop princess too!

are you surprised? im an exol after all! but fr this song had me GAGGED since the mv TEASER dropped! everything about it is so good, the beat, the lyrics, the vocals... everything! when it comes down to the mv minseok had $10 and a dream but he still made it work. that song was MADE to be a hit!! when i heard it i knew NOTHING ELSE released this year was gonna top it!
