good GOD this trip. I have loved the scenery and the hikes we have been on, but my family is about to drive me bonkers.

#literally none of them are capable of making a single fucking decision without debating it for hours #and none of them communicate clearly so there is an insane amount of confusion #and we have done next to nothing because they cannot do anything in a reasonable time frame #like we were supposed to leave at 8:30 this morning and we didn't leave until 9:15 #and then we got to the hike spot and my mom lost her glasses and instead of checking under her fucking seat #we had to spend a good half hour looking for them... guess where they were #and then we spent 10 minutes debating if we were going to do the hike we had already Fucking PICKED #and then my mom passed out halfway through the hike which is not her fault and I'm not upset about at all #but we decided to not do the rest of the hike and instead go to the town and look at the artist shops #which was totally good with me except we got there and they all decided they didn't want to look at the shops!!!!!!!!! #yes they were mostly galleries of art we can't afford but they were cool to look at #but nope. spent idk an hour wandering around OUTSIDE THE STORES #we did get the best chai I've ever had tho at a little shop there DELICIOUS #and then they were like beginning the dinner debate and I decided I was fucking done #so I just picked a place and said we are eating here and called and made a reservation and told them to get in the fucking car #like I Get It. it can be hard to pick things but at some point SOMEONE has to make a choice #we can't stand around going 'idk whatever you want' 'i'm okay with anything' 'what did you say?' 'did we decide?' ALL THE TIME #AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

actually so funny in retrospect how on the last wednesday of 2022 my job told me i had an “attitude problem” so in 2023 i quit that job, bought a pair of socks online that said “i ❤️ my attitude problem,” and listened to “bad attitude” by meat loaf so many times that it became my #3 most played song of the year

#the attitude problem was literally not even in the room with us if you know what i mean. #literal examples she gave were ‘you talk to your coworkers in the break room about stuff that happened on a shift they didn’t work’ #and ‘you ask me too many questions about the job and it makes me uncomfortable’ #this after i’d been working there 16 months. clocked in 5 minutes early every single day. #had called out sick 3 times ever at that point and all because i was actually sick. all times i was sick for like a week #and still only called out one day. #spent 6 months closing registers every night while on the schedule as the cleaner. #once spent over an hour of my one precious life cleaning the dirtiest and nastiest cart of all time #because we had so few because they kept getting stolen. #went above and beyond every single day and was consistently rated ‘exceeds expectations’ on performance reviews. #and they had given me a 15-cent performance raise after telling me i was the best cleaner of all time. #and then they raised the starting wage to $17.25 and my 15-cent raise was nullified so in the end it didn’t even matter. #and i was paying $1425 a month for a no oven shithole with thin walls and insane neighbors #AND THEY REALLY THOUGHT I’D RATHER BE PROMOTED THERE THAN JUST QUIT AND KEEP THE ATTITUDE!!!

well it seems youtube on firefox is no longer letting me play videos in anything higher than 720p, and some its only allowing me to view in 360p. and while duckduckgo's duck player works fine, if i stream it over discord, no audio can be heard on the stream (╬▔皿▔)╯

guess im stuck having other people be forced to stream the videos for me i guess until some tech genius starts having this problem as well and creates a workaround.

fuck youtube, fuck google, fuck every big tech company (and every non-tech company while we're at it), fuck every greedy capitalistic pig who is purposefully making my life more irritating and inconvenient for me just because they can. now where's that damn guillotine

I do scanlation stuff entirely as a side hobby thing when I'm not busy with work or hanging with friends or whatever, but it like legit blows my mind every time I find someone I've never spoken to before talking about something I've translated or sharing a scan I did or whatever. Like, the Tumblr Guilty Gear community is incredibly small and then I'll hop over on Twitter and find out something like 3,000+ people have seen the textless cleaned up cover I made for the Begin novel translation and it makes me a little lightheaded imagining that many people having unique thoughts about it lol

i've been really onto something with the sporadic 10-minute writing sprints honestly. since i started doing them a week and a half ago my piece is already 7k and there have been more days where i've written nothing at all than i thought would get me to 7k. turns out age-old writing tactics actually work...who'd've thunk

#now is that 7k amazing? no but i'm heartily embracing the ugly first draft #like 1) that post about how writing is the process of thinking not the other way around #and 2) repetitive practice makes perfect. insert story about pottery class where half were graded on quality and half on quantity #and the ones graded on quantity made better quality items than the ones who spent forever agonizing over 1 item's quality #so yeah.....sometimes the writing is sporadic or deeply lacking in description but sometimes i'll spend the first 10 mins or so #going back JUST 3 or 4 paragraphs and fleshing out what feels rushed and thin before i forge ahead #like realizing i entirely forgot to describe what characters look like LMAO bc in my mind i know.... #anyway its been fun i wanna get this piece to 60k/finished by end of oct and i think i can do it if i just stick w the writing sprints #genuinely like. i used to think about Being An Author being My Job and being like thats so stupid bc i cant make myself #sit and write for 3 or 4 hours a day #well no stupid of course you can't write for 4 hours in a row (unless its wsnxx madness moments) but you can write for 4 hours in #15-minute portions whilw doing other productive things between.....smh at myself for being this dumb for this long. but im smart now. so. #t
