random thoughts and highlights about the gig at Tapiola Festivaali today 🖤

first fucking row 😭

so idk if it was that that made the show feel exceptionally good, and I find it difficult to rank the BC shows I've been to in any order of excellence, but I'd say this one would go pretty high on that list; their energy was unmatchable and, as always at BC gigs, I truly had the best fun I've ever had 🥺

(which is why I'm still a little dumbfounded and emptyheaded and will probably spend the entire tomorrow crying because I miss them so much and have no idea when I'm gonna see them again jdkdkfjkfkfkf can't they just drop some tour dates for next year soon or at least the "big show" they keep teasing us about so I can experience the serotonin boost of buying another BC concert ticket and have something to look forward to in my sad little life ahaha)

but yeah anyway I am so fucking horny for Aleksi y'all. Wanting him carnally was NOT on my bingo card for this year but here we are 🪦

like. He' just so confident and booby. You know? Cocky bastard. I'd let him *** inside.

I definitely am may be a little delusional about a bunch of stuff but I feel like I made eye-contact with Olli one time and then another time when I was doing a little thigh exercise for Left Outside Alone (just pumping up and down instead of just squatting lol ain't just some random dudes gonna tell me what to do)

I waved at Aleksi one time when he came over because yes that's how desperate I was for an interaction with him and he mercifully acknowlwdged my efforts by looking at me and giving me the tiniest nod. So yeah I think I'll name our first-born son Tapio & y'all are invited to the christening 🥰

(unrelated to BC but Abreu performed before them and she winked at me because I'm hot stuff 😌)

got to witness many many many cute Olli/Allu moments (mostly touches) with my bare eyeballs, I feel so blessed and nourished I think I'll live on this for the rest of the year 💗 (she says, knowing very well she will indeed be sobbing her eyes off tomorrow and the whole next week most likely)

I think they all were genuinely impressed by the audience's energy (or at least the first row was fucking fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥) and I know they praise the audience at every show but I'm still gonna go ahead and take their every sweet word as a personal compliment <3

I loved seeing Niko so much? He's a tiny guy and loves crouching so it's not always easy to see him from farther away lol and he was wearing sunglasses the entire show (it was cloudy) but behind the glasses I like to believe he looked at me/us many many times Niko Niko Niko I love Niko 🥰

And Joel was so happy too 😭 happy Joel = happy me, automatically and every time, I need to know when I get to make him happy again by going to see their show, he deserves it and I deserve it 😭😭😭

So yeah, once again BC did what was said on the can: made me forget all about my pathetic little problems and I kinda need that in order to survive so if you need me I shall be refreshing their social media like a junkie asking random passers-by if they happen to have any speed on them, eyes red and visibly shaking because that's how bad I need my next fix

Many many thanks to everyone who hung out and came to say hi!! You all are some of the best people I know, I don't know how you tolerate me or if you even do lol but I'm always laughing so much when I'm with you and I'll miss you guys as much as I'll miss BC 💕💖💕💗💓💞💖

Hi...so I just wanted to say that I never thought I'd find myself OBSESSED with Feyd Rautha fanfic. Like, I found thrown to the wolves by chance while scrolling and was like "there's no way this is real" and then I read it cause why not...

....and now you could say I love him? And you're the one to blame? I've even looked into more fanfics about him but personally, none of them are as good as yours. There's something about the feuding families trope and the way you're handling the readers survival strategy and her relationship with egg head that I FUCKING LOVE I SWEAR TO GOD YOUR HONOR I LOVE THEM SO MUCH

So yeah,I hope these two get a happy ending, or as happy as you can except on this universe.

Personally, I'm dying to know what's gonna happen with Feyd's lovers, and how reader is gonna handle the news of her dad dying and potentially her brother too

Are we ever going to see her previous handmaids again? I hope they're OK but I know they probably aren't.

it is no secret I do prefer happy endings. not in a way "everybody lives" but in a way where my main character is somehow happy in the end in one way or another. because real life is tragic and painful enough…

Just dropping by another au idea that i will not elaborate like, I'm thinking of a rise of the guardians! AU (hopefully at least you've watched the movie, like the books have more elaborate lore on the guardians but we're not gonna dive deep into all that)

anyway so, STYLE FIVE as the guardians. Like, each guardian (santa, Easter bunny, tooth fairy, sandman, and jack frost) represents a concept of childhood which is their core, the very thing that they must share with the world (also their abilities and duty stem from this core, lime how the tooth fairy is the guardian of memories and collects the teeth which contain glimpses of childhood memories etc.)

Sooo....

Santa claus = guardian of wonder = nagisa

Tooth fairy = guardian of memories = makoto

Sandman = guardian of dreams = rin

Easter bunny = guardian of hope = rei

Jack frost = guardian of fun = haru

I don't wanna say that the free boys correspond to the guardian character, but rather the concept they represent so... yeah. Thoughts? I really didn't give much thought to this so it's fair if you don't either 😭

OKAY HI HELLO I LOVE THIS!! I adore that movie and wanted to watch it again before responding to this, so here we are 😌

Having Haru step into the same position as Jack makes so much sense with how long it takes him to find his center or understand how he could be qualified to be any sort of guardian (being given high regard and responsibilities without knowing himself or the “why” behind it is just another way of being invisible, to him), and the answer lying in people seeing/believing in him most when he’s doing what he loves, having fun, and having an quiet sense of pride in it. Guardian!Haru works to bolster all of the other virtues the guardians are looking after (hopes, dreams, wonder, memories) by inspiring authenticity, in a way. That’s his strength, his center — he puts his all into the few things he does because he enjoys those things, or he knows what he’s doing will help in equally important goals/pursuits (aka, even if an action doesn’t bring him direct and immediate joy, that effort might help someone else have fun, and sharing in fun/joy is a very precious thing).

I love the roles you chose for them because it works so well for each of them?? Like, it makes sense for Nagisa to be a guardian with endless ideas and huge eyes, encouraging people to be constantly curious. It makes sense for Rei to be a guardian for hope, for trying again, for seeing each hard misstep as a lesson moving forward, and hard seasons and nights survived as changes for bright mornings and new beginnings. It makes sense for Rin to protect the dreamers, the hopeless romantics, the people with aspirations and borderline impossible ideas bigger than themselves, pushing them to find something to hold onto in the whirlwind that’ll drive them endlessly forward. It makes sense for Makoto to be the grounding and steadying force in all of these virtues that push people forward by preserving the reminders of who they once were, where their old dreams and hopes and wonders lead them in the past, what inspires them to have fun or dare to live in the first place. They’re the protectors of tomorrows, of yesterdays, of the joyous possibilities and intriguing impossibilities of todays. AND THAT IS SO FUN

There’s also just the interesting character dynamics that emerge from those respective values, all working together but distinct enough to still cause some friction. I can see Haru and Rin butting heads like they did in ES (and other times, but most noticeably here) where Haru perceives things through preserving the fun of the present, while Rin often has his eyes glued to the path forward or to the sky. One forgets what it’s like to aspire for more, and one forgets what it’s like plants roots or settle where you are. It isn’t a set dichotomy, but Nagisa’s guardianship over wonder meshes more with Haru’s domain of fun (relishing in all of the whimsy of the present), and Rei’s propensity for hope leans more into Rin’s domain of dreams (both rooted in the delight of striving for change, for more). Makoto’s position in all of this becomes complex because he understands both pulls, because memories aren’t just objective points from the past planted on timelines, but stories formed by who someone is now and all they imagine themselves to be. Memories are proof that even in the perilous march of time, even in the inevitability of change, we’re allowed to preserve bits of those things we loved and carry them with us for strength wherever we may go next. His center makes him the glue, or the thread that connects them all together (and for angst reasons, it may not always work, but dang if he isn’t trying).

I don’t have much thought on character positions for them (like, taking over different holiday mascot roles as opposed to being their own original guardians or something), but the sheer vibes of it all and what they can all learn from each other are just !!!! Chef’s kiss, dude

(and if somebody constructed a loose plot with Ryuuji or Hiyori or Sousuke taking on the role of Pitch Black where they have to maybe break away from their reign over [and reliance on] isolation/fear/nightmares I’d be 👀 intrigued)

just realized i didn't update you 😭

1. new friend and i talked monday again!! mostly about the state fair, not being able to meet up with friends because no one drives or has a car, and black panther because that's what we watched lol. she emailed the professor about the creep guy but he hasn't gotten back with her which is apparently on par for him:( i suggested emailing one of the tas or talking with them (i offered to go with her), but she said it's fine and she's gonna do her best to avoid him:( so hopefully professor sees her email and can do something 🤞🏻

2. talked with cute ta!! convo was longer than the others but still short. just talked about how to access the movies from the screenings (which is great because i have to test for covid tomorrow morning 🙃 hung with a friend sunday and her boyfriend tested positive today but she's negative so 🤞🏻🤞🏻). he said everything should be up on canvas but to email him or the other ta if i have access issues. that was funny because he was literally like "if you have trouble text me- wait, no, /email/ me." i know he wasn't serious, but watching him have that "fuck, wrong thing" moment was so funny

3. my tues/thurs classes were funny today because we had a little debate on women's suffrage and how wwi (it's a wwi class) impacted it and the No Vote and Wishy-washy About Vote groups (i was in the Yes Vote!) just channeled that Old Timey Sexist Guy and a couple of people struggled to keep a straight face. the professor at the end of us giving our arguments asked if anyone was convinced by another group and a guy from No Vote went all "MY group is stuck in their ways but I'M not", a guy from my group said he agreed with Wishy-washy because "i don't want my wife to come home covered in soot and mud like my boys and me accidentally call her greg", and the older guy in class just sat up straight and said "I Am A /Starch/ Wishy-washy" and each one resulted in just about all of us giggling 😭 then in the next class our professor was going over the russian revolution(s) and the second she mentioned rasputin, someone immediately brought up the song then we convinced her to play it because It's Vital To Our Understanding (that point was made by the same guy who talked about calling his wife greg, lol)

that's the update for now! hopefully my test comes back negative or i will be so fucking sad 😭

Okay but wait hiiiii!! I'm doing quite well, resting up😌 I hope you're still fine, too!

Firstly, Valkyrie. Valkyrie. [Screams] okay, to understand why I love Valkyrie, you need to understand me on a molecular level. Not really, just some key facts - n°1 I am unfortunately very into steampunk, have been for ages, it's peak aesthetics to me. Victorian era in general, too, but specifically, like, the 1860s and 70s and 80s were a blessing for western european fashion, and you cannot change my mind. I love crinolines and bustles and corsets and I want them back soooo bad. But then steampunk is like. Personally, I think industrialisation was a mistake (/hj), but steampunk aesthetics? The bronze, the cogs, the goggles, the clocks, the myriad of belts? Yeah. Go off. N°2 so my music taste is questionable, a singular "kpop" band, videogame soundtracks and anime rappers, mostly. But the one thing I'm willing to call my taste superior over is the fact that I love chamber pop and adore baroque and classicism especially.

And when my friend showed me Valkyrie, who do (livelier - very, yes i'll say this again, baroque of them) chamber pop with steampunk aesthetics, what was I supposed to do? Not install Ensemble Stars then and there? But! I could have just been a ValkyrieP without being a Shu and MikaP so I'll also say why I'm a ValkyrieP both as in "I have all of their songs downloaded on my phone" and "I'm tempted to throw my actual irl money at happyele if it's to get Shu or Mika cards". It makes me want to send flowers and chocolates to Akira, because the character development is immaculate, makes sense, it's well-written, and well-paced. Like, it takes a while, and they're still not quite "there" yet, but you can taste and feel the progress. It makes you want to root for them imo bc you see how much they've already done.

Nobody does it anymore (but I better be proposed to that way or I'm rejecting smh), but like. So, in Croatian, "engaged" is hard to literally translate. Zaručiti, can be separated into za and ručiti, and ručiti comes from ruke. Za ruke (and zaruke means "engagement"), would mean "hands" but you gotta use a verb. As in, "hold hands" or "take [someone's] hands" - držati za ruke, uzeti za ruke. I always thought this was metaphorical, like, taking your s/o's hands as a symbol of going into life together. Anyway. In ye olden times, proposing would be like. The couple literally joins hands and pledges love to one another (which used to be the marriage rite itself), and the girl gets gifted an apple, money and/or a ring. And then gets spun around in the direction of the Sun, which I thought was hilarious, but also cute. The old wedding traditions are cute, too (personal fave: best man has to tie the couple together with rope), but modern weddings are more like drink and party until you see the Sun, and then some more.

Ugh, this vote still feels tenuous. Champ said today she wanted to take Zee out last vote (not that it would have mattered, ultimately - I KNEW she had a second idol lol). She's flat out lied to me so many times at this point, but she also knows how big of a threat Zee is. Finding the time to actually talk game with her feels like it will be impossible, though. I finally reached out to Zee last night to compliment her on still trying to unify the tribe like with the game night. She used the words 'icing out' to describe how quiet chat has been between sides, which is fair. I don't know if it was directed only at me, but even if that wasn't what I was trying to do I can see how she felt that way. It just felt like there was not even, like, pretended level of potential to work together and I didn't know how to bridge the gap of "hey even though we won't tell each other anything in-game, how's life?" and have it not seem disingenuous. So I'm glad that came out of last night. The Tony blindside definitely surprised me, and Jack coming back into the game over Colin. It really feels like it's Champ or bust with this vote but if we come to the risk of rocks, I see them possibly flipping. Now that I'm at Actual Final 6 I don't actually want to go to rocks anymore lol. It just feels like if we can get through tomorrow's vote we could get the rest of the way but who knows. If Zee has a third idol I'll lose my mind lmao. The way Kaleigh's still got her steal a vote and idol and I'm sitting over here with my flopped advantages. Sigh. Kind of incredible of her to only have one vote against her so far AND IT'S FROM ME. She's killing it. Wait. Do I have the most votes out of our 3? I do! Well, that's something I guess. Maybe I could have played a more fluid game, and tried to get the majority alliance to eat each other from the inside of it, but there's no point in thinking about that now. I'm at Final 6 and that's very neat.

In my own opinion at the very least, it's actually easier to pick someone randomly. What I did, was to choose a game/stream I liked (for e.g, how I knew Axia was because Pokemon, Vox because Fnaf. Things like that)

You can browse to see if they have something you like, watch a vod or two from there and then slowly branch out! Because at least for Wave 1 - 6 now, they have had a variety of content to choose to start from so it's much easier to pick out a 'favourite'. You don't even have to just choose one because god knows how chaotic EN is HAHAHA

Of course, this is only my opinion so feel free to take that with a grain of salt!

I'm okay, just tired and a little moody / down, probably just because it's almost that time of the month. I dont know. but oh well..

Had a busy day today, took em to the park for quite a bit. We played catch while em ran around. I love playing catch although one time the baseball slipped out of my baseball gloves n hit my nose n it bled. lol. then after we got back from the park, i made dinner and clean the kitchen n dishes. Did some laundry. so not much different, same shit different day. lol.
