Imagine Dori going out to play a game, and after he plays the game..he wouldn't just go straight back to the beach,No!. He would steal the car from Niragi and just drives back to his house, going inside his house grabbing fanta and drives back to the beach with fanta, introducing fanta to hatter and we all know that hatter would accept him.
And then bring fanta back to his and Niragis room, breaking the door at the process to just go inside the room. Noragi utterly goes up to him, yelling at him..but when he sees fanta right next to Dori's leg..he's like" Aight,I'mma steal your dog" And just grabs fanta, and the next Niragi would force hatter to let fanta become a militant dog so that he could give fanta a rifle and a Fedora hat..which fanta will not like if the Fedora hat is given by Niragi-
How about dori giving fanta a Fedora hat?,fanta will love it and sleep with for the rest of his life. Niragi giving fanta a squeaky toy that is basically shaped like a rifle
Fanta is a Good Doggo
Characters: Niragi Suguru, Last Boss, Hatter, Dori Sakurada, Aguni, Cabot
Genre: Niragi get’s to meet Fanta! And maybe shoot a dude dead, but shush.

This was fun to write. Also, I only have a very vague idea of Fanta’s gender (Trust me, I still don’t know if I’m correct) so if I’m wrong, sorry about that. All I have figured out of Fanta’s gender is based on the underside of this very nice Fanta picture.
Tumblr media
When games meant people were going to die in front of everyone lucky enough to stay, within the vicinity of where others shared the same space, not everyone dealt with them well. Some broke a little more each time, some powered through, some even enjoyed it. Either way, everyone earned their right to live in some aspect or another. They fought to keep breathing for another day or two, and came back to their base to eventually do it all over again.
And some, by the sheer power of something refusing to let them hit the dirt and breathe their final breath, just meanders through the games as if it were nothing more than a very realistic fiction.
That’s what was happening, at least in front of Niragi’s eyes. He readjusts the thick black bomber jacket that Sakurada gave him, stained with thick blood, hidden within the darkness. Said man that gave him the jacket was talking to another, who seemed oddly excited to see the man, even though his near carbon copy version was right there within view. Perhaps there was something less wanted in him that Sakurada had. A prettier smile, maybe. Or a nicer demeanour that people preferred to stick closer to. Too afraid to come closer to him.
They were correct to be afraid. Being afraid meant Niragi didn’t have to be seen as weak. But the few that weren’t, respected him. They held themselves at the same level, and Niragi at least gave them the respect if they deserved it.
Begrudgingly, it somewhat extended to his doppelgänger as well. Sakurada never exhibited a single hint of fear towards him, and even willingly attacked him with that darn water sprayer that he kept with him the entire time.
“ Oi! Are we leaving yet or not?” Niragi calls out to the man as he finally bids the other person adieu, Sakurada coming over to him with a kind smile.
“ Hey, can I ask you for a favour?” Sakurada asks, Niragi scowling a little. “ Hah? What for? Can’t you ask me later?” Sakurada smiles at him, and offers zero explanation, other than a simple request to head back himself, as he needed the car to do something. Which, granted, the Beach wasn’t that far from where the game arena was, maybe an extra fifteen minute walk on foot added on to the time it would’ve taken if they took the car, but Niragi still didn’t like how Sakurada thought he’d be okay with it.
But Sakurada was already in the car and driving away by the time Niragi noticed the bastard even left his side with that request, Niragi yelling after the retreating vehicle.
“ Hey!  Hey! You asshole, get back here!” Niragi chases the car for a couple more meters, but the car is much too quick for him to chase by foot, disappearing into the night. Niragi lets out a yell, eyes burning with fury and foot stomping against the ground. “ Fuck!” A presence next to him makes itself known, clearing their throat. “ Hey uh…. Did our ride just up and leave us?”
Niragi whips around, blood still boiling, staring at a nobody Beach member, who looked far too innocent and naive to realize that Niragi was simply not in the mood for small talk. Next to them was a blank-faced Last Boss, who Niragi briefly forgot was even with them, the rest having perished within the game. That didn’t matter anyways, Niragi needed something to let his feelings out, and he whips his beloved gun from his shoulder and jabs it in the direction of the nobody, who yelps and backs up in fear. Delicious, raw fear, the person staring at Niragi with pleading in their eyes, even if it too dark to properly make out what they held. The wide eyes, the trembling bones, the bobbing Adam’s apple, that was enough.
“Oh, so you can see. Whoop de fucking do.” Niragi snarks, the person holding their hands up in the air, eyes flickering between the cold barrel against their chest and the burning eyes of Niragi. “ Yes our ride fucking up and left. I don’t know what he was thinking, but we’re gonna have to walk back.” “ H-How far is the Beach?” Came their shaky voice, and Niragi stares in the general direction of where they came from, muttering to himself as he forced his brain to work outside the blaze within his bone.
“ Longer than what I should have to deal with.” Niragi answers, and takes the gun back as he starts walking back to where the Beach should be. The sound of feet against the ground follow him, and the idiot asked way too many questions for Niragi to care about comes too close to his side, staring at him nervously.
“ You seem mad. Was it because of the guy that took the car? I’m sure there was a perfectly good reason for that guy to take the car! Even if it was a little weird he forgot us. It’s a good night for a walk anyways! Lucky it wasn’t a Spades game, otherwise-“ “ Oh my goodness, do you never shut up!?” Niragi looks at them, and in a fit of impulsive irritation he swings his gun against their skull, a crack resounding in the cold empty night, their body hitting the ground with a thud. “ Asking question after question, do you not see I don’t wanna deal with another gosh darn annoyance?! You know what, I’m already pissed, I need to do something. Lucky you.” His lip pulled up into a sarcastic sneer, full of disgust. “ I need a good stress reliever.” He aims the rifle at the fallen body, the person screaming and scrambling backwards.
“ W-Wait!? No, wait, I’m sorry, please don’t-“ Their words were cut off as Niragi pulls the trigger, shots ringing in the air and blood painting the ground. Niragi doesn’t stop until he feels his tense energy get pulled into each and every bullet, when he finally becomes satisfied as the body is nothing more than bloody cheese.
Niragi scoffs, and spits on the body to rub it in, the final piece of the puzzle. He holds his rifle down by his side and stumbles into the night, the sound of footsteps decreased by two.
Three minutes later, and Niragi needed to rant, his mouth opening and spilling his slight  against Sakurada to his only audience. Last Boss says nothing in return, but Niragi didn’t need any words spoken back. He appreciated that, not needing any more of a reason to get annoyed. They return to the Beach within a fair amount of time, nobody truly questioning where the others were or where their car even was, other than a few talking amongst each other. One less  drinking buddy here, one less of a good time there. Niragi ignores it all and heads straight to Hatter’s, Last Boss behind him the entire time.
He opens the door, Hatter greeting them, Cabot sitting on his lap and wearing Hatter’s sunglasses, the cat comfortable. Niragi walks in and slaps the card on the table, huffing. “ There. Your stupid card.” “ Thank you Niragi!” Hatter chirps, and he looks over Niragi’s shoulder, likely at Last Boss. “ And you as well for letting me watch over your cat! She is such a wonderful buddy for a rousing conversation over the legalities of dolphins!” Niragi never hears a response, nor does he even stay long enough, already leaving the moment he was able to. He heads back to his room to sleep the rest of the night off, too mentally exhausted to really want to deal with anyone else at the moment.
Least of all Sakurada, when he would inevitably come back.
—————————————————————————————————
The sun had not risen yet when the door slams open, hitting the wall rather violently. Niragi is startled awake, and he rubs his eyes and turns to the source of the noise, Sakurada standing there with the hallway lights still on and illuminating him. Niragi’s mood sours the moment he lays eyes on him, and he gets out of bed and storms over to him, grabbing the man by the collar of his shirt.” You little bitch! You left me there at the game and made us walk! What fucking gives!?” Sakurada holds his hands up, one gently tapping the grip that had his shirt. He smiles back, opening his mouth to explain. Niragi at least gave him that, one step away from going to grab his gun and give Sakurada a new hole to breathe out of.
“ It was super important that I took the car, since it was a little far and I needed to carry things! Besides, I didn’t want to disturb you guys and cause too much of a scene-“ “ Leaving us there caused enough of a scene, asswipe-“ Niragi shakes the man, Dori wiggling but maintaining his stance. “ Yes, but-“ Sakurada starts up again, and Niragi was near about to punch the pretty asshole when he felt something step on his foot, and the soft sound of sniffing made him look down, thinking it was Cabot for a second. Instead, a small fluffy dog stood there, brown in colour and very cute. Niragi lets go, the dog looking up at Niragi and barking at him.
“ Is that a dog.” Niragi lets the sentence tumble from his lips, Sakurada eagerly nodding. He  kneels down, petting the pooch. The dog’s tail wags happily.
“ Yes! Niragi, meet Fanta! He’s my dog!” He announces, continuing to stroke the dog. Niragi nods as he too kneeled down, and he holds a hand out to Fanta, who sniffs at his fingers before giving them a greeting lick.
“… I love your dog. Fanta, you said?” Sakurada nods, smiling. “ Cool. I’m going to steal your dog now. Night bitch.” He scoops the dog up and carries Fanta to bed, crawling back underneath the covers and setting the dog on top, Fanta barking and investigating the sheets. Niragi’s gun was still tucked in bed with him, but Niragi wasn’t dumb enough to leave the safety off. He even made sure to put a little cap over the trigger to even prevent it being moved.
He wasn’t a Diamonds for nothing.
Sakurada say nothing, but Niragi does hear him laugh a little, and bid him a goodnight as well. Fanta barks in his ear, Niragi gently shutting the dog’s mouth shut.
“ Goodnight, dog. Go to sleep.” Niragi mutters, Fanta whining a little and wiggling out his touch. At the very least he settles down, Niragi huffing inaudibly and falling back asleep, a warm weight remaining nearby him.
Morning comes too soon, and Niragi wakes up to Fanta still besides him, sleeping peacefully. He smiles to himself, already getting an idea, and he picks up the dog, Fanta waking up with a confused yelp from being picked up so suddenly, Niragi carrying the dog right out of the room. He makes sure not to wake up Sakurada as he heads down to Hatter’s room, throwing open the door and slamming on the lights. “ Hey! You! Wake up you slutty flamingo!” Niragi shouts, waking up the leader of the entire Beach. His hair was a bit of a mess, Hatter grumbling and combing his hair with his fingers. “ Ah? Niragi?” Hatter blinks a few times, and comes over the moment he saw Fanta in Niragi’s arms. “ Oh my goodness you brought me a new friend! Hello you glorious being!” Hatter pets Fanta with the enthusiasm of an old man greeting a grandchild, Fanta barking and wagging his tail happily.
“ This is Fanta. Can I make him a militant dog.” “ Hm? Why?” Hatter asks offhandedly, attention fully on Fanta.
“ Because I want to make him a militant dog, and I want to give Fanta a miniature rifle. And a fedora, obviously. Because he deserves one. So do I.” Niragi tells him. Hatter waves him off, still petting Fanta like he was the greatest thing since rubber ducks.
“ I can get that arranged!” Niragi grins to himself, pleased, and Hatter finally looks up at Niragi. “ I’ll get Aguni to get that all arranged for you!” “ Aw fuck yeah.” Niragi mutters, and Hatter continues to pet Fanta for a couple more minutes before he finally had his fill. With a wave from Hatter, Niragi finally leaves. He sets Fanta down, done with carrying the rather large dog, and heads back to his room, Fanta marching alongside him. Niragi smiles down at the dog, internally vibrating with joy.
“ Oh, this’ll be great.”
—————————————————————————————————
Later that day, Aguni comes over to Niragi’s room, looking at the still opened door, which had a rather decent sized crack running through it. He doesn’t mention a word as he comes over to Niragi, setting a small dog sized rifle and two hats on the bed, one much smaller than the other.
“ There.” That was all he said, and after a brief petting of the fluffy dog, he leaves them alone, Niragi grinning excitedly and putting his new fedora back on. Fanta barks at him, tail wagging. Niragi picks up the smaller hat, and he attempts to lower it onto Fanta’s head.
This doesn’t go well, Fanta barking again and running off. Niragi gasps, offended, and gets up to chase him around the room. Fanta was a crafty little dog though, managing to evade Niragi in every turn.
“ Get back here you ungrateful little-“ Niragi begins to shout at the dog, but he’s stopped when he feels cold, familiar mist on his face, Niragi stopping in his tracks. “ Ah! Sakurada, what the hell!”
“ Don’t be mean to Fanta! Also, where did you get that?” Sakurada plucks the fedora off of Niragi’s head, Niragi becoming offended again in the past ten minutes as Sakurada opens the window and yeets it out the window as well. Sakurada spots the tiny dog rifle on the bed, and he gasps as well, picking it up and turning around to look at Niragi like a disappointed mother.
“ Are you trying to turn my child into a murderer! Shame on you, Niragi, you should know better!”  Sakurada reprimands, crossing his arms. “ You’re not my mom!” Niragi retorts. “ And come on, Fanta deserves a gun! And a hat!” Sakurada sighs, and simply sets the rifle down on the bed and kneels down, calling his dog over, Fanta happily padding over to him. Sakurada pets Fanta with a smile, then looks to Niragi, the latter still clutching the smaller doggy hat. “ May I see that, please?” Sakurada holds his hand out, Niragi continuing to stare at him. He finally concedes, and he comes over, handing over the hat. “ Fanta didn’t want it though.” Niragi dejectedly mutters with a bit of irritation, but Sakurada only chuckles a little and looks down at Fanta, holding the hat up to the dog’s nose. Fanta sniffs at it a few times, tail wagging. Sakurada looks up at Niragi one more time, Niragi looking down at him in pure confusion, then sheer indignation as Sakurada easily slides the fedora on Fanta’s head. “ There! Easy as that!” “ But- Hey, that’s cheating, how’d you do that!” Sakurada merely shrugs, petting Fanta a little more and standing up. “ I guess Fanta didn’t want you putting it on? Fanta is a very smart dog after all!” Niragi only huffs, crossing his arms and shaking his head at Fanta, who happily lays down on the floor. “ You little prick…..”
Still, that doesn’t stop Niragi from bringing Fanta with him later on patrol, the dog eager for a walk. People cooed at the cute dog, Niragi glaring at a few too dared get too close for comfort. He had to keep up his persona after all, even with the addition of a rather cute dog by his side.
He meets up with Last Boss again by the end of it, Cabot meowing at Niragi the moment he arrives. Fanta barks upon seeing the feline, Cabot tucking herself away into Last Boss’ hood. Last Boss stares down at Fanta in silence, Niragi snorting. “ Your cat is a pussy.”
Last Boss looks at Niragi at that comment, slowly blinking. “ …. Yes? She’s a cat.”
“ Ugh, you made it boring. Never mind. But still! Say hello to Fanta! This is a new member to the militants!” Last Boss nods, and he looks down at Fanta, just staring at the dog. Fanta didn’t seem to mind, merely wagging that little tail.
“ Anyways, I’ll see you later! I need to go get something! If Aguni asks, I went to pamper the fuck out of Fanta. If Sakurada asks, tell him to fuck off. Okay bye!” He waves and walks away, Fanta obediently trailing along with him.
He hops into a car, Fanta in the passenger seat, and drives away, having only the vaguest of ideas where he was going.
Three hours later, he returns, Fanta happily squeaking a squeaky toy that very oddly resembles a small rifle. He opens the door, Fanta running over his lap and into the open area with the little gift in his little doggy mouth, Niragi following after. Once back into the building, it doesn’t take long before Niragi sees Sakurada coming towards him, a worried expression on his face. “ Oh, there you two are! I was worried when you suddenly disappeared, you know! Where did you go?” “ To get Fanta a gift, obviously! Look, isn’t he so happy!” He gestures down at Fanta, the dog squeaking the toy once more. Sakurada smiles, a certain concerned tightness at the edges.
“ Niragi, why did you give my dog a gun again.” “ Hey! A squeaky gun! Huge difference! Don’t get your panties in a twist.”
Sakurada sighs, and he lightly shakes his head. “ Alright, but that’s it, okay?”
“ Ugh, fiiiiiine. Fanta still goes on patrols with me though.” “ Yes, of course. Fanta deserves to go on walks.” Niragi fist pumps the air. “ Aw yeah. You’re the fucking best, you Dior mannequin. Come on Fanta, let’s go throw eggs at the bleached trash bin.” He runs off, Fanta barking and climbing Sakurada’s legs for a few pets from his owner before running off to join Niragi in his crime time.
Sakurada simply watches them go, with the slight hint of worry for his poor Fanta. The dog was a smart doggo though, so Sakurada trusted Fanta to hold his own against Niragi. Hopefully there wouldn’t be….. too much damage control he’d have to do later.

V x MC x Saeyoung - Satisfied
[ Admin IU ] [ Hamilton! AU ] [ Listen to Satisfied! also the animation is great! And so you can understand the story better! ]  [ Btw guys, if you want me to make Saeyoung as Eliza, just tell me~ ]
It was Jihyun and MC’s wedding. It has been a few years since they have been in a relationship and today is the day they finally became theirs forever. Jihyun and MC were sat together, their grins and never ending thank yous to their friends that surrounded them happily in this formal event. Saeyoung, chosen to be the best man, and of course, MC’s sister as the maid of honor Zen is pissed drunk and he stumbled in the middle of the room, holding a champagne glass. It was a small musical thing the rest of the RFA and their friends prepared. Zen, raised his glass full of champagne and yelled.
“Alright, alright! That’s what I’m talkin’ about! Now everyone give it up to the best man, 707!”  Saeyoung stepped in, with a glass in hand; he was also drunk. “A toast to the groom! A toast to the bride! (RFA and others; To the groom to the groom! To the bride! To the bride!)
From your best friend, (Seven, Seven Seven) Who’s always by your side!  To your union! (To the union, to the revolution!) To your union, you provide and the hope that you provide. May you always, be satisfied.” He sang, his eyes locking with MC’s and she smiled at him and he felt the stab in his chest. He stared at nothing at all as there was a blur of events and he was back in the night. The first night where he saw MC personally. The night he could never forget because the pain was unbearable to him.
Rewind, rewind
Helpless, sky’s, sky’s Drownin’ in ‘em Drownin’, rewind I remember that night, I just might (rewind) I remember that night, I just might (rewind) I remember that night, I remember that
Saeyoung walked in the RFA party, a smile on his face as he saw Jaehee greeting the guests and checking on them as usual. Her formal self so busy on the guests that she didn’t notice Saeyoung pass by until he patted her shoulder.  He entered, eyes scanning the room for the people he wanted to look for. Yoosung, Zen and Jumin seemed to be surrounding a lady. Based from his observation and eye scanning from down to up, the lady was wearing a red dress that hugged her waist and elegantly flowing down. The straps on her shoulder and her hair, perfectly combed was sitting on her shoulder. His eyes moved to her face that was being almost covered by the boys. Sighing, he went to check the fuzz over and he recognized that voice as he came closer. MC. He was greeting her and she smiled, waving at him and practically, he can feel his cheeks burning. The boys went to get a drink and MC pulled him to the terrace to get some fresh air. Their conversation was as clear as glass to him.
I remember that night, I just might Regret that night for the rest of my days I remember those soldier girls Tripping over themselves to win our praise I remember that dreamlike candlelight Like a dream that you can’t quite place But MC, I’ll never forget the first time I saw your face I have never been the same Intelligent eyes in a hunger-pang frame And when you said “Hi,” I forgot my dang name Set my heart aflame, ev'ry part aflame This is not a game..
“ You strike me as a woman who has never been satisfied.” MC was staring at the moon with a smile but she turned to him, eyes gleaming in the moonlight. Saeyoung scoffed loudly. “I’m sure I don’t know what you’re talking about. You forget yourself.”
“You’re like me, I’m never satisfied!” MC giggled, hugging him. Wow, she’s kinda tipsy. “Is that right?”  “I’ve never been satisfied.”  “My real name is… Saeyoung Choi.” He took a step backwards and bowed, taking her hand and kissing the knuckles as he looked up at her. “MC ___.”
“MC, where’s your family from?”
“Unimportant,  There’s a million things I haven’t done but Just you wait, just you wait…” And with that, MC winked and left to go inside as she saw Jaehee come in. Saeyoung’s heart sped up and in his mind, he was already internally screaming.
So so so… so this is what it feels like to match wits With someone at your level! What the hell is the catch? It’s the feeling of freedom, of seein’ the light It’s Ben Franklin with a key and a kite! You see it, right? The conversation lasted two minutes, maybe three minutes Ev'rything we said in total agreement, it’s A dream and it’s a bit of a dance A bit of a posture, it’s a bit of a stance She’s a bit of a flirt, but I'mma give it a chance I asked about her fam'ly, did you see her answer? Her hands started fidgeting, she looked askance? She’s penniless, she’s flying by the seat of her dress Beautiful boy, does she know it! Peach fuzz, and she can’t even grow it! Saeyoung stared at her from the outside as she was inside, chatting it up with the other guests that were here because of her hard work. They seem to really like her. He was walking inside to find V to talk to him about a few things before he looked at him and he was staring at MC (he got the surgery pls) and he was..
Helpless. His eyes widened in fear and realization. The realization that Jihyun might also love MC. And he knows he is helpless. And his eyes are just helpless. and he realized. Three fundamental truths at the same time.  He walked to MC and he could see, from the corner of his eyes, Jihyun’s face fell to a shocked trance and got a little sad. His hand grabbed hers and she turned to him, a smile on her face. Saeyoung lead the way to the one and only Jihyun. “Where are you taking me, Saeyoung?” “I’m going to change your life.” MC was taken aback and she let out a hearty chuckle. “Then by all means, lead the way!”
First truth:
I’m a boy in a world in which My only job is to marry rich My father has no daughters so I’m the one Who has to social climb for one So I’m the oldest and the wittiest and the hidden in Seoul City is insidious And MC is penniless  Ha! That doesn’t mean I want her any less
They were in front of Jihyun and he bowed. “Jihyun Kim. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“Jihyun Kim… Ah! V?” MC’s eyes sparkled, looking at Saeyoung and he playfully winked. “The one and only.” They were actually conversing.
Second truth:
She’s being nice to me because I’m an RFA member too That elevates her status, I’d Have to be naïve to set that aside Maybe that is why I introduce her to Jihyun Now that’s her groom Nice going, Saeyoung, she was right You will never be satisfied
“If it takes fighting everything for us to meet, it’d be worth it.” She smiled, seeing Jihyun take her hand elegantly and he pressed his lips on her knuckles and Saeyoung just smiled. “I’ll leave you to it.” And he left, his heart clenching. It hurts.
Third truth:  I know Jihyun like I also know my own mind You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind If I tell him I love her, he’d be silently resigned  She’d be mine He would say ‘I’m fine.’ HE’D BE   L Y I N G !
But when I fantasize at night It’s MC’s eyes As I romanticize what might Have been if I hadn’t sized Her up so quickly  At least my dear friend’s her groom  At least I keep her eyes in my life..
The room was dead silent, and everyone was staring at Saeyoung. His eyes were watering and he had wide eyes.
“Seven, are you okay?
But, he snapped out of it and just yelled happily, raising his glass violently, causing some of it to spill on the floor.
“To the groom! (To the groom! 3x) To the bride! (To the bride! 3x)  From your best friend (Seven! 3x) Who is always by your side (by your side!)  To your union (To the union! To the revolution!) And the hope that you provide (You provide!)” May you always… Be satisfied {Be satisfied} She will never be satisfied I will never be satisfied

soooo uhhhh it'd be super slammin if u could write something for idate/rock or rocma/tatsumiya take your time and thanks for writing fics for this fandom
(Hiya, mod Syake here, I'mma pick Rocma/Tatsu for this ask, since I’ve always wanted to write it (I’ve never had a chance to), but if you wanna send in another request for Idate/Rock, I totally encourage you to do it!!)
She’s nervous. She’s very nervous. The oar fish’s eyes dart from left to right, scanning across tables upon tables, where plenty of others sat. Friends, family, c… Couples… She sat upon herself, her hands resting on the table and shyly fiddling with her thumbs. She’s dressed differently, wearing an evening dress; a white gown with red adorning down the middle, reaching to her ankles. It wasn’t too flashy, but yet it wasn’t informal or bland. She even picked her best matching shoes for this, and put on makeup, which she NEVER did. She hope she did an okay job of making herself look presentable.. She never thought she could ever dress up this much for just one person, but here she is, wondering where she was. She.. Oh, her… Her cheeks flush thinking about her. She bites her lip, as her eyes go back to scanning.
Tatsumiya had arrived early, maybe a bit too early. She has been so anxious about this date since she was asked out a week ago, the butterflies growing in her stomach more and more which each passing day. Now that it’s time, it’s almost unbearable. She feels like she’s going to literally collapse out of her chair and violently vomit up her organs from how much they fluttered and tickled inside of her. She felt like she was going to pass out. Though, she will admit that she does feel excited.
How did she meet the polar bear again.. That one orca was nice enough to introduce her to her, and while he seemed more interested in having both of them under his finger, which she originally didn’t mind, something about Rocma.. Sparked something deep in her. She was so ginger with the fish, and was almost overprotective of her whenever she was messed with, especially if it was from the orca. While she’s tough and strong, she has a soft side that she warmed up to very fast. Tatsumiya wasn’t even sure if the bear was interested in girls, so she didn’t even bother asking or talking about her feelings as they grow more with everyday.
Months pass, almost a year after their original meeting, and then all of a sudden, Rocma pulled Tatsumiya to the side and asked if she wanted to go on a date. Now, really, they’ve gone on “dates” before, but this one was different. She wanted to try out a “relationship”, a romantic one, because, as Rocma admitted, that she thought the oar fish would make a nice partner with how gentle and charismatic she was. Rocma said she lacked all of that by being a brute, but internally Tatsumiya disagreed with that fact, through all of embarrassment. Tatsumiya, after some time of recovery, eventually said yes to Rocma’s offer.
And here we are now. Tatsumiya had picked this place, since Rocma said that she didn’t really know anywhere fancy. She also said she would take care of her own transportation, which Tatsumiya was concerned about. Rocma could swim, yes, but not very well nor for very long, and there was a large amount of water separating the two. As she thought that, she heard a loud slam against the side of the building, startling everyone inside. It was then followed by loud girly screams and yelling with even more slams and loud thuds, before just. Silence. Nothing. For a good few minutes.
Confuzzled, Tatsumiya was caught off guard by the sudden ‘Sorry, I hope I didn’t keep you waiting.’ spoken next to her. The oar fish yanked her head over, staring at a very scuffed up and somewhat bloody ball of white with an obvious expression of displeasement. She had changed dresses, but whatever fancy dress she had been wearing was terribly torn, ripped in places that were obviously scandalous, but the bear didn’t seem to care. Everyone was staring. Tatsumiya flushed a bit more at the sight of her body, but was too overtaken with surprise to really say anything at first. It wasn’t until Rocma finally took a seat and started looking at the menu that words began to roll out from her gaping mouth.
“W-What happened…? A-Are you okay? D-Do you need a change of clothes? D-Do you need some healing? D-Do you–” Tatsumiya’s mouth just stumbled quickly in confusion, before being interrupted by Rocma holding up her paw in dismissal.
“Slow down there, don’t sprain your tongue by talking so fast. I’m fine as is. Besides, it’s not my blood.. Well, most of it.” She cackled a bit, everyone just continuing to stare harder and harder, whispering to each other. “I got here by tricking the orca. Shirogane pissed me off earlier, so I used him as a piece of bribery and said the orca could beat him up if he got me here and back, but turned out he ended up being more interested in me by the end of it. Tore his throat out, Shirogane got in the middle of it, he’s pretty beat up, too.. I really did want to look my best for this, but I guess that just won’t happen this time.” She smiled, almost as if nothing happened, shifting her eyes across the menu.
Tatsumiya didn’t even have anything to say back. She just stared back in awe, eyes and mouth wide open just like the fish she was. She had so many questions still, mostly about morality, but that iceberg was never built off of that. The whole place was a nuthouse, some way or another. But.. She didn’t see anything personally wrong with that, just different. She finally let her eyes rest with the first blink since Rocma started her story.
“How.. Are you gonna get back home?” was the best she could mutter, only saying what really concerned her at the time. If Idate was incapacitated, then that meant she didn’t really have a way back.
“Oh, uh… I was gonna ask a favor out of you for that. I was going to ask you to find someone who can take me back up.”
“Oh.. Haha, no, you’re fine!! I can go with you, if you’d like.”
“But I know you don’t like the cold a lot, and the water only gets worse the more north you go.”
“U-Uh, it’s fine, I-I mean.. I have you to warm me up, d-don’t you..?” Tatsumiya gave a sheepish smile at that, the both of them laughing with each other with slight reds on their cheeks. Rcoma said that she was funny, and enjoyed her innocent sense of flirtary.
Some time passed, their meals already ordered and half eaten. They spent almost the entire time talking, Tatsumiya venting about how Helica nearly tore down a house due to her anger, Rocma updating Tatsumiya about how Mafuyu was doing and how her studies with Yukisada and Peraco’s brothers are, and they both of them exchanging occasional compliments to each other, always giving a blush to other’s face.
With another loud thud and more yelling, a blood covered and crying wolf bolted into the restaurant, screaming at the top of his lungs. Not too long after that, a hostile and VERY excited Idate came sprinting in afterwards, yelling that Shirogane can’t get away and that he’s going to cook his ribs for dinner.
Rocma sighed as Idate was able to spot her again, the orca shaking in place with the amount of adrenaline through his body.
“Ohh, that’s where you went, Shirokuma! I almost thought you abandoned me.. Now, come to daddy.” He sneered, gesturing his arms out with a large smirh. A low groan comes from Rocma’s throat.
“Please excuse me, dear.” Rocma muttered as she started sit up. She patiently waited for an quiet ‘okay’ from Tatsumiya as she darted off, people screaming as their tables were thrown up from the carnage that immediately ensued.
Shirogane, Idate, and Rocma were banned from ever coming to that restaurant ever again, Tatsumiya being the only one not due to just awkwardly watching from the side lines. Rocma profusely apologized that this first date was a complete disaster and that it was all her fault for even bringing the two nearby. Tatsumiya, after being so silent for so long, finally began to laugh, covering her mouth to let herself look more composed.
“What’s so funny? Aren’t you embarrassed?”
“I-I am, b-but..” Tatsumiya panted for her breath, snickering throughout her words. “B-But it’s okay, it honestly is! It’s just charming, in its own weird way.. It’s familiar. T-That’s who I know you as, and I wouldn’t have expected anything different from w-who–” She paused for a minute to catch what she was saying, before internally going ‘screw it’.
“I wouldn’t have expected a-anything different from who I fell in love with…”
Rocma blinked, trying to immediately hide her shock, trying to look as passive as she could as her face grew red from embarrassment. “I.. I see. Uh..” Shoot, now she was having trouble on what to say. “…C-Care that we go for another one? I-I won’t make a stupid decision this time..”
Tatsumiya chuckled, before happily nodding her head. “Of course, Rocma. I’d be more than happy to. When?”

Accidents and Incidents.6: Refrain
Previous Chapter
He happened on them by chance. Err, rather, he happened on Mirajane.
It was as he was out in the market, his wooden babies circling around his head, as he mumbled to himself.
"Bickslow," he grumbled to himself. "What are you gonna do?"
"Gonna do, Papa?" his babies asked, also curious. "Gonna do?"
That was the question of the day, as it stood. The seith was in a rather big pickle.
He'd just finished a job, see? And only had a set amount of jewels on him, right? Well, on his way home from the job, he found himself pressed with an impossible decision.
Should he spend his money on some new baby bodies that he found there, in that market, that he'd never seen before? They had really cool carvings on them and who knew when he'd be back to get them?
Or should he spend his money on actually getting home? On train tickets? Or should he just walk?
Decisions, decisions.
He was busy figuring it out when it happened.
Mirajane Strauss walked passed him.
Which, usually, wouldn't peak his interest. You know, 'cause he only ever saw her in the bar, really. He almost let her pass without recognition. Then he realized where they were and that, hey! That was Mira!
If anyone knew whether or not to buy those swanky baby bodies and update his souls styles, it was her!
Or Freed and Ever. Who would tell him that it would be a waste of money. And he just wasn't up for all that.
No, simple Mirajane was perfect.
"Hey!" He turned real big, almost bumping into someone as he moved to chase her down. "Mirajane! Wait up!"
"Wait up!" his dolls cried as they trailed behind, people in the bazaar turning to stare at them. Mira, at the sound of her name, turned to address the man without thinking. Had she been, she would have realized that the situation that Bickslow had just found her in was not good. At all. She was in a town that should be unimportant to her, buying groceries and other household items which made no sense at all.
Bickslow wasn't the brightest in the bunch, but even he would see through her.
Maybe… Both of them were kind of spacey at times. Maybe if she played her airhead qualities up a level or two, she'd be able to confuse him and, essentially, the her she was portraying him to until she had a chance to escape.
Sounded like a plan.
After all, Mira wanted nothing to do with, for one, breaking her promise of not telling anyone about Laxus' accident, but also to be the one that had to explain it to a member of the Thunder God Tribe. They, understandably, would not be too receptive to the idea.
"Bickslow," she greeted with a smile, shifting the brown paper bags in her arms. "What a surprise."
"Surprise me?" He came to a stop in front of her, his babies gathering around as well.
"Surprise!" they yelled. "Surprise!"
"Oh, a surprise?" Mirajane giggled. "It's not my birthday."
"Huh?" Bickslow frowned.
"What?"
"What?"
"What?"
Then they were just staring at one another, Bickslow squinting from behind his visor while Mira just kept that damn plastered on smile showing. It used to be hard, when she first lost Lisanna, to pull off, but over the years it was almost like her lips had become stuck that way.
Almost.
"Well, anyhow," Bickslow said after a moment. "Uh, what are you doing around here?"
"Hmmm?"
"Here. In this town. What are you-"
"What are you doing?"
"Me?"
"That's what I asked.
"Oh, well, I just finished a job, right? And-"
"How nice for you." She started to turn. "I'll be seeing you, Bick-"
"Now, wait a minute there," he grumbled, reaching out to grab her arm. "Where you runnin' off to? Hot date?"
Not unless cooking Laxus dinner and helping him take a shower counted as a date, no.
"Of course not," she giggled though there were undertones of nerves sprouting up. "Why would you say a thing like that?"
"Well-"
"You shouldn't suggest such a thing of a lady."
"I wasn't sayin' you were doin' anything bad," he was quick to insist. "Just-"
"Wow," Mira cut him off. "Did you know that the sun was already that low in the sky? Look at it! It's crazy, isn't it? The days just get shorter and shorter, huh?"
"Well, actually, the time of the year, they get longer, but-"
"What do?"
"Huh?"
"What?"
"What?"
"What?"
That time, he was full on glaring at her from behind the mask.
"What are you trying to pull, Mirajane? This some kinda setup? I mean, you're bein' mighty elusive here."
"Elusive?" She scoffed. "What are you suggesting?"
"Well…that you're being evasive."
"Evasive?" Shaking her head, as if appalled, Mirajane said, "I can't believe you would imply such a thing!"
Bickslow blinked. Then he frowned. "I'm so confused. I thought that those words meant-"
They did. But if she could convince him otherwise…
'Well, they don't," she huffed. "What you were insinuating-"
"I didn't mean it!" He was still racking his brain, trying to figure out what meaning she could possibly be deriving from such common words, but was coming up blank. "Babies, tell her how sorry we are."
"We're sorry, Mirajane," they cooed as they circled around. "We're sorry."
Still, she looked off, as if hurt. "I have to be going now, Bickslow. Maybe next time we see one another, I'll be able to forgive you."
Insulting Mirajane either meant one of two things. A beating by Satan Soul or a crying demon on his hands. And, since neither seemed to be the case, he feared that perhaps something worse might happen.
Like she might sic Elfman on him.
The horror.
It wasn't until she was off, disappearing into the crowd, that something hit him.
"Hey! Wait! I didn't get your opinion on the babies bodies!" And something else came to him too. "And hey, how come you're not in Magnolia? Mirajane!"
But it was too late. She'd not only taken off, she'd also transformed into an entirely different person, moving swiftly through the crowd while she was at it. That was close, of course, but at least it was over. She just had to get back to Laxus and, hopefully, not run into anyone again.
Bickslow, however, was not that easy to lose.
Err, he was. That day. But something about Mirajane bein' there just didn't seem right. And, since he decided to buy those posh new bodies (without the help of the she-demon), he would have to walk back to Magnolia. He didn't want to that night though, no way, and figured he'd camp out somewhere and, maybe, run into Mirajane again another day.
She, however, had no intentions of doing that. At all. And when she told Laxus about her encounter, he only sighed.
"The big idiot," he grumbled as he sat in his chair in the kitchen, watching her make dinner. "What's he even doing here?"
"Just passing through, I think."
"Yeah, well, he better be." Shaking his head, Laxus said, "I can't deal with him. Or Freed. Or Ever. Or Gramps. And if one knows, they all know. Any of them, really."
"Except me," she added, not expecting much from him. Instead, Laxus only laughed, it only slightly.
"Yeah," he agreed softly. "Except you."
Mirajane was able to put Bickslow out of her mind as the night wore on, instead choosing to focus on the fact that, finally, after much prodding and begging, she got Laxus to play a board game with her!
And, as it turned out, Laxus found it to be aptly named. Perhaps not spelled, as he was thinking more bored than board, but what could you do? He was already the best mage ever. What? Did they expect him to invent a whole language too?
The demon enjoyed herself though. Immensely. And, as they used that to take the place of their nightly movie, after allowing her to win, Laxus suggested they head to bed.
Together. Always together then. Neither wanted it any other way.
"Mmmm," Mirajane sighed that night as they settled into bed. "I'mma have to contact Master again soon."
"Why?" Laxus grumbled, glaring over at her. She was on her own side of the bed and he doubted she'd be coming over to his that night. "What's the old geezer got to do with Bickslow?"
"Nothing. Completely separate," she assured him. "But it won't be long now before he gets worried about what we're doing. He'll only trust me for so long, you know."
"No, I don't know."
"Huh?"
Snorting, Laxus looked back up at the ceiling. "Gramps is enamored with you. You and Erza. Always you and Erza. How great and powerful you both are. And, fine, how nice you both clean up-"
"Are you hitting on me?"
"What?"
"What?"
And she felt then, if only for a minute, like she was speaking with Bickslow again.
"Nothing," she finally decided, rolling over to give him her back. He only stared at it. "I just thought that you were saying that I-"
"If you mean you thought that I said you were hot, I was saying that. Hence the reason Gramps likes to keep you and Erza around so much. You know he's a perv."
"He's an old man."
"I'm glad you agree."
"Laxus-"
He let out a loud, uncharacteristic yawn then, just to make the conversation die. Then he shut his eyes.
"I'm sleepin' now, demon. So shut it."
"You really know how to spoil a girl, huh?"
"Don't make me kick you outta here."
But the threat had a massive hole in it. Mainly the fact that it was him that wanted her there so desperately.
"Mmmm," she hummed softly. "Maybe tomorrow I'll think of something to tell Master. To keep him at bay."
"Filthy old man. What's he so concerned about anyhow? With your location?"
"I am his barmaid," she pointed out. "And he did kinda send me here to bring you home. Which I haven't done. He probably thinks that I'm just using this as a chance at a vacation and that you really didn't need anything."
"No way," he grumbled. "I had no idea he'd send you. We couldn't have planned this."
"No," she agreed. "But we could have decided to just go with it when the opportunity arose."
"And what," he began, "would I have gotten out of it? Huh? You get a free vacation and what? I get stuck without a way to get home? Wouldn't make sense."
"Maybe he thinks we're…"
"We're?"
"You know."
"No, I don't."
"Laxus."
"Mirajane."
"Dragon."
"Demon."
"Lax."
"Mira."
"Stop it."
"You."
Groaning, she said, "I just meant that he might think that me and you are…sleeping together."
Laxus opened his eyes for that one. He didn't actually expect her to come out and say it.
"You have a vivid imagination, woman."
"Yeah, well, it wouldn't be far off, would it?"
"Eh?" He turned his head then to stare at her back. "You propositionin' me, woman?"
"No," she whispered through a blush. "I just meant that we are sorta in bed together. Technically. I could see how someone could misconstrue our relationship."
"It's a relationship now?"
"Every interaction you have with a person is one," she told him. "Just like you have one with Master or with Freed or-"
"Ugh. Freed. He'd die to hear you say that."
"It's true. Me and you have a relationship."
"Glad to hear it. Now if you'd kindly-"
"I just don't want Master to get the wrong impression," she insisted. "Or anyone else for that matter. What if he tells someone?"
"Tells them what? Huh? That I asked for him to send someone down here to help me out, you came, and now we haven't returned?"
"Yes," she hissed. "He might thing that we're taken hostage or-"
"First we've run off, then we're sleepin' together, and now we're being held hostage? Make up your mind, woman."
"I also have other possibilities if you want to-"
"I'm good."
Mira sighed then, rather loudly before whispering, "I just wish that there was some way that we could let Master know that things are okay and that it'll just be a bit longer. It will, right? Only be a little bit longer?"
Grunt. Then, "Just go to sleep, Mira. I'm done talking about this."
It wasn't easy for him to drift off that night, but she seemed to get there rather easily. One minute she was humming softly, next her annoying noises were replaced by nearly silent snores.
Laxus just laid awake though.
What if Gramps did send someone else down there? Then what? Huh? Sure, he and Mirajane were hidden off, in an apartment building that he had clue about, but if he sent one of those other slayers, they should be able to trace the scent back to there. If that happened, his luck would probably turn completely and the Master would send Natsu. It would be horrible.
But what was the game plan then? They couldn't stay forever. He had to come up with a solution. It was just so…bleak.
The next morning they had a little accident. Or, rather, Laxus decided that he wanted to help out a bit in the kitchen and somehow dropped the carton of eggs and shattered all of them.
"I can just go out," Mira sighed. "And pick us up some more."
He was pissed at himself over it though and it showed. Grumbling under his breath, he said, "I'll go with you. We can pick up some bacon too, right?"
"Laxus-"
"Right?"
"If we have to," she sighed, though really, she knew that she should just be glad that he was willingly going out without her prodding him. Since that first dinner, they'd managed to get out of the apartment a few times, but never for long intervals.
If they weren't both frazzled still from the night before, they would have recalled the afternoon, in which a very unwelcome visitor had made his presence known. But as it was, neither thought of Bickslow that morning as they got ready and left the apartment and nothing reminded them of him.
He, however, was very keyed in on them.
Err, rather, her. Mirajane. After all, he had no idea that his idol was even in town. He soon found out as he was seated at a café patio, enjoying some breakfast while regretting his new bodies for the babies decision (they looked hideous after the novelty wore off and he was realizing he was gonna have to just switch them back as well as walk home) when it happened. The sight of Mirajane interrupted his reflection time. He almost called out to her.
Then he saw it.
Laxus. With her. Rolling around along in a wheelchair.
Bickslow was too blinded by shock to do anything. Just sat there on that patio, babies blabbering on, food getting colder by the second.
Why was Laxus…in a wheelchair? And with Mirajane?
At that moment? Because they needed eggs. Desperately.
When he snapped out of it, the two of them were far passed the café and, damn it, if he didn't hurry he'd lose them.
Calling out for his waiter, Bickslow tossed a his remaining jewels onto the table and downed his glass of juice before yelling to his souls, "Come on, babies! We gotta boss to figure out!"
It was a mad dash, at first, to catch up to them. And, then when they had the pair in their sights, Bickslow and his babies held back, not wanting to get noticed just yet.
No. First Bickslow had to figure out what the heck they were doing. Before it had just been curiosity. He had no reason to not care about Mirajane, but he also lacked having an overwhelming reason to care. With the boss involved though, well, there was a huge reason.
Not to mention that pesky wheelchair. What could that possibly be about?
Another chance of pure luck for Bickslow happened in that Laxus was unable to pick up his scent, if only because Mirajane hadn't just bought a carton of eggs. Oh no. She also insisted that they buy a bouquet of flowers, which he had to hold in his lap and were shoved up in his face.
"Why," he'd grumbled, "do we need these?"
"To make the apartment look more homey."
"It's not a home!"
"Yeah, Lax, I know. Because we don't have flowers."
He'd given in (he was finding himself constantly giving in and wasn't liking it one bit) and let her take them back to the apartment with them. Even footed the bill. You know, because he was just that kinda guy.
Yeah.
Now, anyways.
"Dragon…"
"What?"
That came later, as they were heading home, him trudging along as Mirajane hummed in time with her steps. Or she had been, anyways, before she spoke.
"I…Do you feel like we're being followed?"
"Mirajane," he grumbled, "I'm the most adept mage you've ever known."
"If you say so."
"I would be able to sense if someone was following us." Or he would, had he not been so preoccupied by other things. Like pushing along his wheelchair, glancing around to make sure no one was staring at him, and smelling those god-awful flowers.
Ugh.
"Are you sure?"
"Very."
"Well, it's just…"
"Spit it out, Mirajane."
"I just glanced behind us and could have sworn that I saw Bickslow, so-"
"What?"
He looked over at her then, gripping his wheels to stop them from rolling. "Where? Shit. Are you serious?"
"I think so."
"What do you mean you think so? How many other freaks walk around wearing the getup he does?"
"W-Well-"
"Take these," he growled, shoving the flowers onto her. It was still rather early and there weren't many people out, but the ones that he glanced at looked nothing like Bickslow. After all, he should have been able to place the idiot anywhere.
He was, after all, his idiot.
Laxus didn't even have to breathe deeply. He could smell him. Without those flowers in his face, he could fucking smell him.
"Uh, Lax?" Mirajane asked as he rolled his wheelchair around on the cramped sidewalk, narrowly missing running into someone trying to get by him. "What-"
"Bickslow," he growled as he wheeled over to an alley way. "I can smell you! So don't try none of that stupid get away stuff. Don't scale a buildin'. If I gotta chase you, then I'm going to-"
"Oy, boss." He popped up from behind a dumpster in the back of the alley. "Me and the babies weren't doin' nothin' bad. We figured out what was goin' on and decided not to follow ya anymore. But then Mirajane saw us and we had to hide."
"What?" Laxus had stopped at the end of the alley, a glare planted on his face. "Figured what out?"
Mirajane appeared then, standing behind Laxus as she stared in too. People were passing by and, as not to alert any of them as to what he thought was going on, Bickslow rushed from behind the dumpster to speak to them face to face.
"That you're on a recon or something," he said as he pushed up his visor to stare at both of them.
"Or something," his dolls mimicked. "Or something."
"Huh?" Laxus blinked as Mirajane just frowned. "What-"
"That's how come you guys are all couple like and you're in a wheelchair, huh?" He winked at them. "Undercover? Although I don't know why Master Makarov sent the two of you. You're not really compatible, I don't think, battle wise, but I could see it. A devil and a slayer thing-"
"Well," Mirajane giggled, "a dragon and a demon, but-"
"Shush," Laxus growled at her. To Bickslow though, he only said, "We're not a couple."
"Of course you are. You bought the lady flowers and you're having a morning stroll and- Although, just a thought here, guys," Bickslow said as he glanced at both of them. "If Mirajane can transform into someone else while you're out on the street, it'd probably be advised. Just a thought. I mean, I don't know what sort of recon you're doing-"
"It wouldn't be a recon, you dope," Laxus hissed. "It would just be a con."
"Yeah, well, whatever."
"No, not whatever. It-"
"And boss, I don't get the wheelchair aspect at all," the seith kept up. "I mean, I'm all for psyching people out, it'll probably floor them when they see you in action, standing up from the chair and going all awesome and best mage ever on them, but-"
"Uh, Bickslow," Mira started, her giggles dying just as quickly as the conversation was. "You shouldn't-"
"No, Mira." Laxus swallowed hard then before saying, "You're right, Bickslow. You figured us out."
The seith nodded, letting his visor fall again. "I'm sorry if I ruined anything. I didn't mean to. Mira just threw me the other day and then to see her with you, well, it took a bit for me to piece it together, but I'm no idiot."
"No," Laxus whispered. "You're not."
"I'll let the two of you get back to your super secret job, huh?" And even though his visor was down, Mirajane was sure he winked at them. "Won't tell a soul. Have fun. And give 'em hell, boss."
"Yeah." The slayer only stared as the seith came to pat him on the shoulder as well as hug Mirajane for some reason. "I'll give them hell."
"One more thing though, since we're all here together. I mean, look at us! The best three mages in Fairy Tail. All gathered-"
"What," Laxus sighed as Mirajane only made a face at the distribution of power, "do you want, Bickslow?"
"Yeah, and what's happened to Gildarts and Erza? Or even Freed for that matter?" Mira asked, more concerned with that. "Or-"
"I need train fare," he said with a shrug. "I mean, boss, I'll totally pay you all the jewels back when you come back."
"Yeah," he sighed, shifting as best he could to get his wallet out. "Uh, here."
When he handed over two bills, Bickslow only stared.
"I gotta eat somethin' too, you know, boss."
"Bickslow-"
"I gotta. I mean, what? You want me to starve or somethin'?"
"Or something," he sighed as the babies cooed around Mirajane.
"Flowers," they sang. "Flowers."
"Uh-huh," she agreed. "Pretty, huh?"
"Pretty, huh?" they all agreed. "Pretty."
After he got his hands on a few more jewels, Bickslow was set to go. Before he left, Mirajane kindly offered him a flower from their bouquet and, he was in such a good mood just from getting to see his idol, that he accepted it.
"I'll treasure it always," he said with, again, a wink behind his visor. "Or oops, boss. Can't be puttin' the moves on your woman here now, can I?"
Then he chortled as he headed off, babies following. Loudly enough just for the two of them to hear, he added, "Demon and dragon, huh? Ha. Like that would ever happen. Have a good recon though."
"Con," Mira whispered under her breath to him as Laxus just sat there in his chair, not even glancing after the man. When it was just the two of them alone again, Mira only stared down at him, waiting for further instruction.
"Come on," he finally sighed, moving to roll off then. "Let's go."
"Dragon-"
"I said," he insisted. "Let's go."
It was a long trip back to the apartment. Or at least it felt that way. And when they got there, Laxus claimed he wasn't hungry anymore. Just went into his room and closed the door behind him.
Mira didn't know what to do. Bickslow's words and assumptions had clearly hit home for the slayer. What was she supposed to do for him?
Not feeling much up for eating either, Mira only put the eggs away before going to sit on the couch, left with little else. Laxus was hurting, she knew, as the troubling act of literally telling one of his best friends the truth of his situation had been presented to him only for him to balk on it. He'd choked up. Refrained from admitting the truth. He couldn't just tell Bickslow that he was paralyzed. His safety net of being away from Magnolia had been shattered.
With nothing to do, but play her guitar, Mirajane began to do so not long after, making sure to do so softly as not to disturb Laxus.
In the bedroom, he only sat there in his chair, head down and resting in his hands as he skewed his eyes shut tightly.
What was he supposed to do? Huh? Playing around with Mira had been…nice, but it was clearly coming to an end soon. With Gramps going to start breathing down their necks and Bickslow discovering their little hideaway, there wasn't much time. Not to mention Mira would periodically ask him about doctors and therapy and…and…
He couldn't do it. He just couldn't do it.
Then the singing started.
He'd heard the guitar playing, but it had just been background noise to him mostly. And the singing started much the same when it began, but slowly, as Mira got more into what she was doing, it grew.
It took him a moment to place it, but when he did, he realized that it was that same damn thing that she'd been humming since they first moved in together. He'd never heard her play it on her guitar before. Just hum the tune under her breath at, usually, the most inopportune times. Or at least when he was annoyed at her typically and probably to get under his skin. If not, then she should implement it in those situations, because it worked very well.
A lot of swallowing took place then as he tried to hold down all that he was feeling and focus instead on Mira's song. As much as he'd loathed it all those times that she was humming it softly, silently judging him (in his mind at least), in those few moments that he sat in his bedroom, it actually sounded rather…pretty. Beautiful. Touching. Emotional. It was so emotional.
Rolling around then, he went to the door and, slowly, moved to open it before heading out into the living room. Mira had just finished it when he came to a stop in front of the couch.
They just stared at one another for a moment before he said softly, "That's a nice song."
"Mmmm." She went back to just strumming idly, playing nothing in particular. "Glad you liked it."
Still, he only stared. "Those words…"
"Hmmm?"
"It sounded really…personal."
"It was." She smiled then at him, if only a little. "I wrote it for Lisanna. When she…died. But I could never play it for anyone until she came back. And, since she has, I think that it has a bit of a happier tune to it, huh? Because we were reunited. Just in a lot less spiritual way."
When he didn't say anything to that, Mirajane asked, "Did you wanna hear it again?"
Slowly, he nodded. "Please."
"Okay." That time, her smile was big and real. "I can play it as many times as you want."
And she did. At around the fifth though, Laxus could tell that she wasn't as into it as him and, though he would have liked it one more time, he asked, "Can you play me…anything?"
"Hmmm?"
"If I told you a song," he said with a stare, "could you play it for me?"
"It depends on if I know it," she said.
"Well, what if I got you the song?"
"Huh?"
"If you heard it on my headphones," he explained. "You could play it then, right?"
"Maybe. I mean, I'd be able to get some of it, I'm sure, if it wasn't too-"
"Great." He rolled off again to go get his Sound Pod. "Just give me a sec. Then you can see if you could learn some of my music, right?"
Mira really didn't want to. She'd heard the kind of music that Laxus listened to before and it really wasn't anything that she liked to play. Still, he seemed to be in better spirits then and, well, she couldn't crush them. Or argue with him.
She'd never seen him so interested before in her music. He didn't even go tinker with his puzzles and just use her music as filler. Instead, he sat right in front of the couch, leaned over in his chair, staring intently at her as she listened to each song before attempting it. She didn't sound too great on a few and the lyrics were a no go, but when she was able to get a song down pat, Laxus only complimented her on her drive.
"It's really great," he said as his eyes locked with her blue ones. "To watch someone learn something. And a song at that. I think I love it."
"Yeah," Mira grinned. "I think I love it too. I mean-"
"Uh, Mira. You're in the middle of a song here. Don't ruin it."
Talk about ruining things…
Eventually Laxus got hungry and allowed her break (he was quite demanding) just so she could make him some of those eggs finally. While she was getting started on that, she said, "You know, we forgot bacon."
"Tomorrow then."
"Mmmm," she sighed as she glanced over at where he was sitting in his chair, watching her cook. "Have you ever thought of trying it?"
"Bacon? I think it's pretty clear that I-"
"No, Lax, not that."
"Then what?"
"The guitar," she said. "I mean, clearly you like it a lot. Or any instrument?"
Snort. "My fingers are not meant to be calloused."
"Oh. Right. They're too delicate."
"I didn't say that."
"You're a delicate dragon."
"Stop saying that."
"Delicate-"
"Damn it, Mira. Shut up."
Giggling to herself, she went back to the eggs. "Maybe you could try something else."
"Like what?"
"The drums. You could-"
"I think," he grumbled as she glanced at him just in time to catch him nod down at his legs, "that that's out for now. Bass pedal and all."
She dropped the spatula in her hand. "Ooh, Laxus, I didn't-"
"It's alright."
"I just get so caught up in our witty banter-"
"You're not that witty. So don't fool yourself."
"-that sometimes I just say stupid things."
"That's not why. It's just because you're stupid."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be."
"Laxus-
"I said it's alright, woman. Sheesh. What? You think I'm some sort of emotional wreck over here?" He was, of course, but why mention it? It was his turn for the day to force a smile for her. "What's a little ribbing between friends?"
That got her to relax, if only a little. And, after that fell between them and silence began to settle, Mirajane found herself whispering softly, "Will it still be this way?"
"Will what be this way?"
"When we get back home," she elaborated. "Will we still be friends? Or will we just go back to being guild mates?"
His smile felt more real then as he leaned over in his chair, resting his elbows against his thighs and put his head in his hands.
"Yeah, demon," he told her softly. "It will."

Firsts.4
She spent the next few days staying over at Bickslow's. She thought, nee feared, that this would come off as clingy or immature, but he seemed to take to her well enough. In fact, it was usually he who asked her at the end of her shift at the guild if she wanted to come back to his apartment. And his babies were always overjoyed at the thought.
She even brought a few pairs of clothes from her place over to his. And she knew that it was too fast to say that they were doing anything more than dating, but it was nice even still, just to have that.
Hiding it from Elfman was easier than she could have ever imagined. Without Mirajane around, he had taken to staying full time at Ever's place. After checking with Lisanna, of course, to be for certain that she wouldn't need him or anything.
"Big brother, Elf," she had complained when he suggested this. "Why would I ever need you? I'm not a baby. You guys act like I'm a child or something. I'm an adult now."
He only laughed though and hugged the heck out of her. "Of course you are, Lisanna. You've grown so much, even in the past year. I just…I miss the days when you needed me!"
And then he cried and she had to hold him and promise to never leave him behind, that it was the three Strauss siblings till the end.
"You sure are manly," he complimented her with one last bear squeeze.
"Elf," she squeaked out. "I can't breathe."
It was also during those few days, however, that she was suddenly reminded of a very hard fact.
"Hey, Lisanna! We're finally back. You miss us?"
No. That was the first thing that came to mind as Lisanna stared at Lucy and Natsu when the came into the guildhall, Happy fluttering above. He took off for Carla and Wendy though, who were over at a far table, speaking softly with Romeo.
"Natsu," Lisanna said slowly as she stood there, previously having been wiping down the bar. "You're back."
It was a first, honestly. She had never gone so long without thinking about the Salamander. Even when she was in Edolas, intermingled with the prayers to see her true sister and brother again were the pleas to have a final goodbye with her dearest of childhood friends. He usually was all she thought about for the most part.
Except since he left on the trip wit Lucy and Happy a few days previously. Because since that first day he took off, he hadn't crossed her mind once. And that was solely because of one person.
"No thanks to Natsu we are," Lucy complained as she came further into the guildhall, heading over to the bar. "He somehow got on the wrong train."
"Hey, I was already sick from the first train ride and then you guys just switched trains without me-"
"I thought you were with us, Natsu, until you-"
"You totally did it on purpose!"
"Yes, Natsu, because I wanted to get stuck away from Magnolia for even longer. You know, I do have rent do on a specific date, right? I have to be here to, you know, freaking pay it!"
"Yeah, yeah," he said dismissively. "You know, if you didn't yell at me as much, maybe we wouldn't fight all the time."
"Maybe if you actually had some common sense, I wouldn't have to argue with you!"
Lisanna couldn't help it then as she began giggling at them. Because even though she had fallen rather hard for Natsu at one point, even she had to admit that he and Lucy complimented each other well. And if she couldn't have him, at least someone who deserved him did.
"You guys had fun though, huh?" Lisanna asked as Natsu came to take a seat at the bar.
"Yeah, I guess you could say that," he said as Happy flew back over after, once again, being rejected by Carla.
"I did the work, Lisanna," the blue Exceed to her as he took his rightful place atop Natsu's head.
"No you didn't, you stupid cat," Lucy remarked. "You hardly did a thing!"
"I did too. I did all the hard work," he insisted.
"Did you?" she asked through a giggle.
"Yep. Huh, Natsu?"
"I wouldn't go that far, little buddy."
"In fact," Happy went on, ignoring Natsu then. "I think I deserve a fish."
"Do you?" she asked, laughing some more.
"When doesn't he think he deserves one?" Lucy grumbled. "He could poop and think he deserved one."
"You be quiet, you," Happy said, pointing a finger at her. "Maybe if you laid off your eating, I wouldn't have to struggle when I carry you!"
"You little-"
"So Lisanna," Natsu asked then, holding his head high as he spoke over Lucy and Happy. He was no doubt tired of their bickering after their trip. Keeping his eyes locked with the barmaid before him, he asked, "How were you while we were gone? Do anything fun?"
She wanted to tell him then. Because even if she was over him, even if she was perfectly happy with…'dating' Bickslow, she still wanted it to sting him the way that his relationship with Lucy did her. She wanted to tell him that just the night before, she had gone over to Bickslow's apartment and while they were cuddling on his bed talking, he just…well…
It started with him saying,
"You really think I should clean this place?"
"Yes," she had insisted loudly, giggling slightly. Though it had a rather odd aroma to it as well, his bed was actually quite nice. It fit both of them well, but they usually found themselves snuggled up in the middle, the babies falling up on their pillows on either side of them.
"Really?" He looked around. "It don't look half bad to me. In fact, I don't know if you noticed, but I even picked up for you."
She blinked. Then, slowly, she said, "Bickslow, throwing away our takeout boxes from yesterday is not picking up. That's called a normal thing to do."
He gave her a mock pout in response. "Hear that, babies? Lisanna don't think we cleaned up very well."
"Very well," the babies said as from their spots on the bed. "We cleaned very well."
"You think it'd be easy for you, Bickslow," she told him as he turned his body so he could bury his head in her white hair.
"What would be easy?" he asked, his voice muffled as he spoke against her head. Lisanna only giggled, turning to look up at him.
"You know, cleaning," she said, grinning. "I'd think that you could just enchant a, like, duster or vacuum and-"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, kid. I said I'd pick up for you. Dusting? Vacuuming? What do I look like? A maid?"
"No," she told him with a slight giggle. "But your place looks like a pig lives here."
"A pig, eh?" He nuzzled the top of her head then, making her bat at his face. "Careful, kid," he warned. "You poke me in the eye and we're gonna have a problem."
"Is that what you're afraid of?" she asked, wiggling her fingers then, in front of his face, as if she were going to do it. "Someone poking you in the eye? Is that why you wear a visor?"
"I wear a visor to hide my eyes, kid." He shifted then, to reach out and grab her arms, before pulling her into his. "'cept from you. Since you like 'em so much."
"I never said that," she complained, struggling in his hold. He only grinned down at her though. "I just said that you look better with your helmet off. And you do."
"And it ain't my eyes?"
"Mmm. I think it's the tattoo."
"Now you're toying with me, kid, and I don't like that."
"Don't like that," the babies replied though they didn't rise from their positions on the bed. She wondered at times how many other women he took to bed and if the dolls were like that with everyone. Every person likes to feel special, after all.
"What are you gonna do about it?" she asked, still trying to wiggle away from him. It was a halfhearted attempt, but then he was barely holding her. It was more of a game than anything else.
"What am I gonna do?" Her head got another kiss. "I'm gonna kiss you, that's what I'mma do. You like that, Lisanna?"
"Lisanna?" the babies asked.
"Mmmm….no." And then she elbowed him, right in the ribs. Not having expected this, he let her go in shock while she only sprang over him and out of the bed, nearly slipping on the floor as her foot got caught up with a pair of jeans he had laying down there.
"Lisanna!" Bickslow growled. "Get her, babies!"
"Lisanna," the dolls called as they sprang up. They didn't attack her though, only followed her out of the room. "Lisanna!"
Bickslow was up then, chasing after her too. But Lisanna didn't know where to go once she was in the living room and his dolls were swarming around her head. When she moved to try and rush towards the bathroom, Bickslow decided he wasn't having any of it. It was a flying leap, but he caught her, tackling her to the ground. At the sound of her letting out a sharp breath, he feared he'd taken things too far.
But then, before he could say anything, she was laughing and giggling and he just buried his head in her neck and they were fine. It had only been five days since she'd gone over to his apartment again, but there they were, snuggling on the dirty floor of his apartment.
"Beg for forgiveness."
"Bickslow-"
"You elbowed me."
"You restrained me."
"You were trying to poke me in the eyes."
"…Well."
"Well."
"At least let me get up."
"No way. I know that game, kid."
"Bickslow, it's dirty down here. Please? Just to the couch?"
"Fine," he grumbled, slowly moving to get up. "No funny business though."
When he let her up though, Lisanna merely stuck her tongue out at him before attempting to make a break for it. No go. Bickslow easily grabbed her and drug her over to the couch.
"You sure are a wild one, kid," he grumbled as he tossed her down to the couch, trying not to be too rough.
"Wild one," his babies croaked as Lisanna only giggled, shifting on the couch so that her head was pressed against the armrest.
"What are you gonna do about it?" she had asked him then. It was as he moved onto his knees on the couch, straddling over her around her knees, that the mood changed. He only stared down at her and she decided that yes, it was a good thing that he wore his helmet most of the time.
"I told you, Lissy," he whispered then. He had taken to calling her that the other day. "I'm gonna kiss you."
And he gave no orders to his babies. They only fluttered off back to the bedroom without saying a single thing. She only laid on her back though, still watching his eyes.
"Can I, Lisanna?" he was asking then as he leaned down some, resting his hands against her stomach. "Can I kiss you?"
Slowly, she nodded her head. At that, he moved to push up her shirt before pressing a very gently kiss against her tummy, right on her belly button.
"Can I kiss you again?" he asked. When she nodded, he said, "I need to hear you, Lissy."
"Yes," she whispered. There was a funny feeling growing in her gut. It was slowly becoming familiar to her though.
That time, it was lower, beneath her navel. It tickled as his blue hair brushed her stomach.
"Can I kiss you, Lisanna? Again?" He literally rubbed his head against the front of her shorts then before lifting his head slightly to look at her as his tongue fell from his mouth, the marking there mesmerizing her. "Here?"
And she nodded, of course she nodded, and then…and…and…then…and…
And then she was standing there, in that moment, in front of Natsu, Lucy, and Happy, and her whole body heated up. Even her ears became red, she was blushing so deeply.
"You okay, Lisanna?" Natsu was asking her then. "Hello? Lisanna?"
"Do you feel feint?" Lucy asked then, concerned. "Lisanna? You look-"
"Is it from seeing Lucy's face?"
Growling, Lucy about reached over to push the cat off her boyfriend's head. "Shut up, stupid cat!"
"Ha ha," Lisanna giggled then, reaching up to stroke the back of her neck. "It's nothing, guys. I just got a tad cold is all. Really."
"If you're sure you're okay," Natsu said slowly. Lisanna only grinned at him though, cocking her head to the side.
"I'm fine, Natsu. Sheesh. Don't worry about me."
"Then do you do anything fun?" Lucy asked her then, her grin falling back onto her face. "Did you and Mirajane do something together?"
"Mira's actually out of town," Lisanna told her then.
"What? Where'd she go?"
"Her and Laxus went on vacation for a few days."
"Really?"
"Yeah," she sighed. "And she left the bar to me and Kinana. She won't be back until the day after tomorrow."
"Wow," Lucy said. "I didn't know that she and Laxus were going anywhere."
"I don't think he wanted a lot of people to know. You know he's not too open about most things."
"Gah!" Natsu shook his head, almost throwing Happy off in the process.
"Hey!"
"Sorry, little buddy," he sighed. "I just don't wanna listen about Laxus."
"I'm so sorry, Natsu, that not every conversation revolves around you," Lucy remarked with only made him roll his eyes.
"If we have to talk about Laxus," he said slowly then. "Can we at least talk about whatever it was that Bickslow did to make him hit him? Please? I really want to fight him when he gets back. If you know, Lisanna, just tell me."
"I-I-" she tried, but then the guildhall doors opening saved her. Or rather the person rushing in saved her.
"Bickslow." She couldn't help it. When she saw him, she just perked right back up.
Not that anyone noticed. Happy had jumped off Natsu's head and gone back over to Carla while Lucy had been called over by Levy. It was just Natsu still sitting there and he made a face at the way she said the other man's name.
"Hey, Lisanna," he greeted as he made his way over to the bar, a bag in one of his hands.
"Lisanna," his babies cheered, rushing over to her as well. She only giggled though and mumbled a greeting back to them.
"I bought the stuff you wanted," Bickslow as saying, not even noticing the Salamander. Natsu noticed him though and got to his feet when he approached.
"Stuff?" Natsu asked, looking more to Lisanna for an answer. "For what?"
Now, Lisanna would admit that a tiny, tiny part of her, so tiny it hardly counted, might have made a little fantasy in her head during those two weeks where she was ignoring Bickslow after losing it to him. And in that fantasy, Natsu found out about how she and Bickslow had hooked up and go so fantastically jealous that he couldn't contain himself. He looked her dead in the eyes and admitted that he had loved her all along. And Lucy was there and only nodded her head in agreement and said that it was true. That she had always known. And Happy, well, happily jumped around for joy at the reunion of the little family that had hatched him from that egg all those years ago.
…Of course, an even tinier part of her had a second fantasy where Lucy felt that same pain that Lisanna had and realized what exactly she had done, but that one was so tiny that it practically didn't even exist.
Practically.
After the past few days that she'd spent with Bickslow though, she quite honestly didn't know what she wanted. She knew that she didn't want Natsu to ruin what she had going with Bickslow, but by the same token, she had always loved him. And if Natsu, in a fit of jealous rage, did something wild like, parse, proposed to her, well then, how could she possibly say no?
Oh, she desperately needed her big sister. She was the only one that would help her through the labyrinth of emotions she was currently harboring.
The only problem was that Mirajane had no idea that she was going through any of it because Lisanna was too big of a scaredy-cat to tell her about it.
"You sure are spacey today," Natsu commented then when Lisanna only stared at Bickslow. He had noticed Natsu for the first time and his grin fell slightly.
"Oh," he said then, looking to Lisanna. He was in his usual getup so he had his sallet on, covering his eyes. "Sorry, Lisanna. Were you busy with something?"
"B-Busy?" she repeated. But Natsu was speaking then.
"Actually, yeah, she was." He looked bucked up then as he turned to stare hard at Bickslow. Oh goodness! Was it happening? Was he about to-
"I was talking to her about your fight with Laxus, see, a few weeks ago," Natsu said then. Lisanna only blinked before letting out a slow breath. Natsu… "It's been bothering me this whole time. I really want my shot again, at him, but-"
"Don't know what to tell you," Bickslow told him dryly before glancing at Lisanna. "I'm just the bodyguard. You wanna honest battle with him, you take that up directly with him."
Natsu dropped his head then, though just as quickly he nodded it.
"I'll look into that, I guess," he said before going to walk around Bickslow and over to where Lucy was sitting with Levy. He must have forgotten that Bickslow had just interrupted his time with Lisanna. Sigh.
"Anyhow, Lisanna," Bickslow was saying then. When she glanced at him he only grinned before holding up a grocery bag. "Got all the stuff you wanted. The cleaning stuff? Got a duster, some rags, some of that spray stuff-"
"Bickslow," she said through a sigh then, cutting him off. Looking at him full on then, she said, "I'm working right now. You now that."
"Yeah, but can't you take off early and-"
"No. It's just me and Kinana here. I would never do that to her. How could you ask me to?"
"I just…" He dropped his shoulder then, leaning across the bar then. "I got all excited, I guess."
"Excited," the babies mimicked.
"But if you're working-"
"When I get off, I'll come over," she said, reaching out and up to push up the visor over his eyes. "Okay? Will that work for you?"
"If it's the only option, I guess it'll have to. Better than nothing though." He grinned again then. "You sure you'll be up for cleaning, Lisanna? When you get off work?"
"Probably not, but I'll do my best."
She worked for probably another three hours after Bickslow left. Then Kinana, who could tell she wished to be else where, told her she could go ahead and take the rest of the day off.
"Oh, no way, Kinana," she told her as she poured Gildarts, who was drinking with his daughter, another mug of his brand of whiskey. A full mug. Of straight whiskey.
He downed it in record time.
"I would never leave you here all alone. Mirajane asked me to-"
"Lisanna," Kinana cut her off. "You let me take off early the first night. Besides, I saw you earlier, talking to Bickslow. You wouldn't want to keep him waiting for too long, would you?"
Boy, she might as well just keep her face forever in that shade of red. It would be easier than blushing every time anyone said something to her ever, which is what she felt like she was doing the past few days.
Needless to say, Bickslow was surprised when he opened his door to reveal her. Even his babies called out her name in shock.
"Lisanna," the greeted as Bickslow opened the door even more. He had changed for the day, into just a pair of jeans and an undershirt, and only grinned at her.
"What are you doing here? I thought you had work?"
"I got off, like you asked," she said, feeling rather awkward then. The only other time she had just shown up at his place was when she went home that once, to get some clothes and stuff from her place, before coming right back. "So-"
"I would have come down and walked you back here," he said before taking a step back. "Come in then, Lissy. And take a look."
The only thing that came out of her mouth after stepping into his place was, "Wow."
"Yeah, amazing huh? What a little bit of work can do?" He was real proud of himself, she could tell, as he shut and locked the door behind her before coming to stand beside her. He had his hands on his hips and a toothy grin as they looked at his living room.
"You really cleaned, Bickslow."
"Mmmhmm. Just like you asked. Put all the dirty clothes in a hamper, found my vacuum in my closet and vacuumed up the living room floor. Took all the trash out." He smiled down at her. "Don't get over excited though. So far I just got the kitchen and living room done, but-"
"It's perfect, Bickslow!" She couldn't help it then as she moved to throw her arms around him, like he was Natsu or Elfman or something. He seemed shocked for a moment, but just as quickly wrapped his arms back around her and lifted her up off the ground slightly.
"You think so? We still got the bedroom and the bathroom to do. I was saving them for last, since they're the worst. I-"
"You're so cute." Reaching up, she moved to run a hand through his hair. This time, though he shoved her back some. "B-Bick-"
"Not you, kid. Just my hair, huh? We might go out to dinner tonight." He reached up to fix it. "Trust me, you can mess with it later. When we know that we won't be going back out, huh?"
Then, just to tick her off, he reached over and ruffled her hair, messing it all up.
"Bickslow!"
"Daddy and the babies want a break from cleaning. Don't we, kids?"
"Yes," they called, floating all around then. "Break."
"Well, you have been working hard," Lisanna agreed as she smoothed out her hair. "What do you wanna do for your break?"
"Ugh. Sit down for one," he said, taking her hand in his own then and leading her over to the couch. "Cleaning is so tedious. It's like working out, but worse. No pay off."
"Uh, Bickslow," she said slowly as they settled in together. "This is the pay off."
"What? You?"
"No, silly. A clean apartment is the pay off for cleaning. It's why you do it."
"Meh," he said, looking around. "It's nice, but I know I'll just screw it up again."
"And that's why you have to keep cleaning."
He only grunted. "I dunno. Seems like a lot of work."
"Oh, Bickslow."
He stuck his tongue out then before literally licking her cheek. Now, they had done a few things that made her hesitant, but that completely threw her off.
"Ugh." He turned his head and made a face. "That was not what I envisioned."
"What did you envision?"
"I dunno. I thought you'd taste like a steak or something. You just taste all sweaty."
Blushing then, she scooted away from him some. "Well, I've been working all day, okay?"
"Aw," he said, frowning at her. "Are you upset that I didn't wanna lick you? C'mere, kid."
"Bickslow-"
Her cheek got another lick. She only frowned before rubbing at the cheek with her hand, for some reason grossed out by the thought of his spit getting there when, in reality, it had been in a lot stranger a place the night before.
"That's disgusting," she told him with a frown. "Seriously."
"Aw, Lissy, I was only joking."
"Only joking," his babies assured her as one came to rest in her lap. Lisanna only sighed then before reaching down to pat the wooden doll on his top, as if it had any real emotions.
"You can even lick me back if you want." He angled his neck then, as if offering her a cheek. "Go ahead."
"Bickslow-"
"Only joking," his babies reminded her. He winked then before sticking out his tongue again.
"No more licks?" he asked then.
'No more licks," she agreed.
"No more licks," the babies chimed in, because they just couldn't stand being left out.
She was staring at his tongue then for some reason as he opened his mouth and yawned. After a moment, she spoke.
"Did you, like, taste the ink? When your tongue was marked?"
"Huh?" He frowned at her. "What are you-"
"Your tongue. Guild mark. Does it mess with your taste buds? Even now?"
"Not really," he said then, grinning at her. "It interest you?"
"Sometimes it makes your tongue seem huge."
That made him laugh before winking at her again. "You wanna feel it?"
He opened his mouth then and stuck out his tongue in his signature way. Lisanna took a moment before making a face and holding out one finger. Then, as if squeamishly, she reached out to press it against the wet flesh of his tongue.
Then she made an, "Eek!" noise and withdrew her finger, much to the amusement of Bickslow.
"You're cute, kid," he told her then, moving to wrap an arm around her shoulders and pull her in for a tight hug. Lisanna only giggled before reaching up to tap the center of the tattoo on his face. "Tell her she's cute, babies."
"You're cute," the babies chanted loudly to her, the one in her lap popping up and back into the air. "Lisanna."
She only giggled. "How much longer is this break then, Bickslow?"
That got him to calm down some. Still, he held her to him as he said, "I was sort of hoping that you'd forget all about that."
"What if I clean up your room some, huh? And you go in there and clean the bathroom?"
"Lissy-"
"The shower. At the very least I want you to clean the shower. Please? And I'll get all your dirty clothes and trash up in your room. Sound fair?"
"Mmmm….no."
"Bickslow-"
"You're so lucky, kid, that you're so much fun," he groaned as he got to his feet. "So lucky."
Somehow they didn't get back out of the apartment that night. Bickslow, after cleaning the shower and helping her pick up some in his room, ordered in.
"Don't you ever make your own food? Like at home?" Lisanna asked as they sat in his bed, eating the variety of different dishes he'd ordered. He was getting most of it, but he did let her try some of whatever she wanted. "Or can't you cook?"
"Hmmm?" He glanced at her before shrugging. "Cooking ain't my strong suit."
"Mirajane can cook," Lisanna told him then. "Better than anyone else I've ever met."
"Well, yeah, I know that," he told her. "Of course I know that. But what about you? Can you cook?"
"A little," she giggled. "But no where near as well as Mirajane."
"Then how about an arrangement, kid?"
"What do you mean?"
He reached over to poke her nose gently until she looked up at him. His babies were shut off from them, in the living room, and they were completely alone. As cute as she thought that his babies were, being alone was nice too.
"You make me dinner now, huh? When you don't have to work up at the bar as long. And on the nights that you can't, I buy the dinner."
"When we're together, you mean."
"Yeah," he said. "I buy or you make. That's the rules for when you spend the night from now on."
"What if I want you to make me dinner sometime?"
He laughed. Then he shook his head. "I promise, kid, you won't ever want that."
When they were finished eating, Bickslow was dismayed that Lisanna actually made him take all his trash to the waste bin in the kitchen. It was such a waste of time. Gah! It was much easier to just toss it on the floor off his bedroom and be done with it.
Then, afterwards, they ended up all snuggled together in his bed, the babies joining them. Lisanna was always slightly worried about rolling over on one and breaking it, but they seemed rather durable. And Bickslow assured her that he would just make more. She wouldn't hurt them.
And as they curled up that night, Lisanna found herself on her back as he snuggled against her stomach, as if a reversal of their usual roles. It was nice though because it gave her a chance to stroke his hair finally, playing with the Mohawk he usually formed with it. Her hands got rather greasy, but he seemed to like what she was doing.
A few days. And so much had changed. And why? Because her big brother and sister weren't around to keep an eye on her? If that was true, then she hoped they left her alone for the rest of her life, so she could always be with Bickslow.
"Mmmmm, kid," he mumbled at one point when she finished with his hair. "Gotta sleep. One more night then, huh?"
"Hmmm?"
"She comes home the day after tomorrow. Then you won't be over here anymore, right? Like this?"
"I dunno," Lisanna admitted softly. Bickslow only sighed.
"Why worry about a bad tomorrow when today's been so great?"
His head got flicked then.
"You're not allowed to just change your sayings around like that, Bickslow," she told him. "It has to be one or the other."
"Says who?"
She blinked. "I don't know, but-"
"The way I see it, Lissy, things change every day. Feelings, minds, opinions. Why can't my philosophies?"
"Mmmm. Bickslow."
Shifting then, he moved lay on his side next to her, his head sharing her pillow. The side of her head got a kiss before he mumbled, "Sleep, Lissy. Me and the babies are tired."
"Tired," some of his children mumbled from their spots.
"I got you, kid," he mumbled then as he wrapped an arm around her, grinning slightly, sleepily. "Okay?"
Shutting her eyes then, she nodded slightly before whispering, "Okay."
"Okay," his toys repeated making Lisanna giggle and Bickslow smile. Okay.
