More F1 AU doodles! 😌

While messing around with some designs for this AU, I kind of started thinking about this a bit more and here are some of my thoughts:

Asami and Korra are long time racing rivals. (Korra drives for Varrick’s team; Asami drives for Future Industries)

This is Korra’s last season driving for Varrick.

Asami extends an offer to Korra to drive for her team.

Kuvira is Varrick’s new driver.

This WIP was one the first doodles I made for the F1 AU, but I wasn’t happy with the dialogue until now. Hopefully, I’m still happy with it by the time I finish this thing. 😅

I love that tension between drivers. Especially drivers on the same team tbh 😮‍💨

Oh evil F1 AU idea:

Remember the Grosjean crash from a while back? Utterly devastating crash where a racer went into a wall and had his car explode before managing to climb out of the flames unassisted?

That, but Asami. Korra sees her crash but doesn't see Asami climb out.

(Honestly so many crashes would be tremendous angst-bait, WHICH GIVES ME AN IDEA-)

I didn’t initially remember the crash, but after looking it up yeah. I could see it. Angst! 😭

I feel like Korra would walk away from crashes most of the time. Especially after causing them. 😅 It had me thinking of the one red bull crash between Verstappen and Ricciardo. Two competitive drivers. on the same team. Would be them tbh.

But yes! All kinds of crashes for angst!

I love your F1 AU idea! if Asami is an engineer maybe she could be Korra's race engineer, on the pit wall. I feel like it fits with Korra being hot-headed but having to listen, and Asami can be like "trust me box this lap I know what I'm doing". Their team radio arguments and banter regularly make the highlights reel.

Ahhhh! Yess! I like this too! 😭😭☺️ Asami is so versatile she could literally be anything in this AU and it’d work tbh

F1 AU Korra, yelling on the radio: "No, the DRS, it's still not working!! come on guys!!"

Pit Wall, calmly: "OK Korra it did work that time it just closed again because you were hammering the button. So just one press next time Korra, just one press please, and it should work"

which I swear to god was a real radio exchange from last year. Korra works so well as a racing driver, she has the same energy.

You've gotta start watching the races, next one is in Baku this weekend!

Asami: ”Are we still P3? I’m going to need new tires guys. I locked up that last turn.”

Pit Wall: “Yes, box in. Can you confirm?”

Asami: “Box. Box.”

Yeees! I’d forgotten how intense racing was. It’s so much fun, I could see myself get into it ngl 😅
