Kaoru: “Don’t call it wordy! We just couldn’t come up with a simple name for it, alright~?”

“Though I want to make it extremely clear that I’m not blaming Anzu-chan’s naming skills, she just focused on the content of the competition itself!”

Hiiro: “Right! Anzu-san might have put the project together, but we were involved in the discussions as well!”

“If there was any kind of flaw in things like the names and content, then the blame is none other than our own!”

“In any case, as the name suggests, this is a simple contest of leg strength! Hinata-kun versus Yuuta-kun; whoever completes a lap around the shopping district wins!”

Kaoru: “However, there is a twist! The twins can only run if they’re singing an ES idol song!”

“The same song cannot be sung twice, and drawing out the song to buy time is prohibited!”

Kaoru: “To top it all off, as they sing, whoever the song belongs to must judge the two’s singing!”

“If they fail to earn a stamp of approval for singing properly, they will be forced to pick a new song!”

“It’s an UNDEAD song this time, so I will act as judge on their behalf!”

Hiiro: “Hm. The phrase “100% OK” is quite perplexing, but if it’s a stamp of approval from the song owner, then they’re good to go!”

“They can continue to run and make distance until the song is finished!”

“This will be repeated until the winner makes it around the shopping district first!”

“Not only is this a test of lung capacity to run while singing, but a test of their knowledge of ES idols as well!”

Kaoru: “Won’t they do just fine on that aspect? Having always been the underdogs for so long, those guys have been doing nothing but opening performances for other units, haven’t they~?”

“Being the best out there when it comes to hyping up the crowd, they’d always be chosen for the job!”

“As co-stars, I’m sure they’re plenty familiar with all those other idols, who have nothing but appreciation for them!”

“If the two of them sang any of their songs, I’m sure they’d all be overjoyed to know that they’ve learned their songs by heart, don’t you think?”

“I can’t help but feel a little happy, too. When we call out, “We are UNDEAD!”, it’s rough, but when they do it, it’s cute~! ♪”

Hinata: “Shake to your very core, ignorant fools~! ♪”

Yuuta: “—Let me show you how serious I am…♪”

Kaoru: “Hmm. It is a tad bit embarrassing to hear your spoken line be said by someone else, though…”

Hinata: *whispering* …Alrighty, Hakaze-senpai sure is good at what he does, huh~. He’s explaining exactly what’s going on while keeping up the upbeat atmosphere.

Yuuta: *whispering* He’s great at livening everything up, isn’t he? Hiiro-kun’s doing good as well, it really sounds like he genuinely admires and praises us.

Hinata: Right, right? When people would look down from above, saying something like “Those kids are doing great, aren’t they?”, it wouldn’t make me feel good at all!

Yuuta: But Hiiro-kun, he’s unaware of our circumstances, so he says exactly what he’s meant to say without acting weirdly apprehensive of us!

Hinata: Yup! We just happened to end up at the same spot, but this line-up might be perfect for us. Although thanks to Anzu-san’s usual expertise, we have a plan for whatever situation might turn out.

Yuuta: Mhm. We can easily turn the tide of this match, thanks to its rules.

We could tie the match by finishing the lap around the shopping district at the same time, for example.

Hinata: And neither of us can lose by throwing the match in a way that looks unintentional.

For example, even when he usually goes easy on us, if we sing one of Valkyrie’s songs, Itsuki-senpai is strict with others and might give us a “Non!”

Yuuta: That way, it’d force us to stop singing the song, and give distance between us.

Through such adjustments, we can pick the match’s final results at our own discretion.

Hinata: If this had been a standard Yumenosaki-style DreamFes, though…

The outcome would’ve been decided by audience votes, something we can’t control—There’d be nothing we could do about it.

Yuuta: And manipulating that number, of course is dishonest, it’s an offense that’d self-destruct in our faces if we were caught.

Hinata: But a competitive format such as this more or less leaves it up to us. We can choose who wins and who loses—All without losing the hype of the show.

Yuuta: Like pro wrestling, right? You get to choose the end result all while keeping it nice and exciting! In our case, that’s what’s important.

Hinata: ’Course, some people talk about how pro wrestling isn’t “real” since they run on a script, but they’re still practically injuring each other and risking their lives.

Yuuta: If they seriously fought in earnest, it’d be more than just risking their lives—They’d literally just be murdering each other.

Hinata: And we don’t have any intention to die, after all. Not yet.

Yuuta: Because, now that we’ve been cornered, we’ve finally realized a problem we hadn’t been aware of for a long time.

Instead of relying solely on the strong “us”, each of us will grow individually until we are second to none...

Hinata: We’ve still got a long way to go! We’ve only just started running, after all!

Yuuta: We’ve only just begun climbing this mountain, so no slipping and falling to our deaths, ‘kay?!

No. Why. I hate it here. I do not enjoy the song. I do not enjoy the easter theme, I do not enjoy the costumes. I think Hiiro, Mika and Wataru got wasted on this one. Like i enjoy a good spring theme but why bunnies??

I think i just dont enjoy seasonal Shuffles? 7. Naugthy or Nice

I dont like seasonal stuff but they are hot so its okay. The whole thing is cringe but in the best way possible, i espeacially enjoy the rapping as well as Subarus part. The train theme is hilarrious but the costumes are so cool with the flame coats ans also a good sign if i imediatly go "i wanna sew that" Im a resident of horny jail as for now send help

6.Noir Neige

I should like this more but....i dont know. Maybe im not into vampires rigth now? Like visually its stunning, with the snow, stained glass, and the song is a bop, all the voices work so nice together.

I just like the other shuffles more i think

5.Midnigth Butlers

Very stylish. Point deduction for more suits but the choreo is so overdramatic and i actually use the trumpety part to stimm at work sometimes. The MV also has such a cool atmosphere

4. Heart Aid Cafe

This is all i ever wanted. This is all i want. I wanna go the cute boy cafe and have parfait. All my depresion would be cures. MUGI IS THERES. The outfits are so adorable and yeah. Its the vibes. I dont need to justify myself. I have a cafe boy unit of ocs for crying out loud. I chose being a waitress at one point. This is my jam.

This is like...A 2020s OVA for a late 80ies shonen manga that got a terrible 60 episode anime in the 90ies and noone remebers AND I ENJOY IT. I enjoy the instrumentatin, i enjoy the dumbass battle choreography. I just dont enjoy shirtless people. So yeah. Love the camp but not the implications and appropriations

What a start. The song always makes me smile, its so adrable, the whole "akward date" thing is all to relatable. I would date all of them even if i think everyone exept chiaki is undatable. I dont mind the suits as much ( maybe the colour?) and the choreography is so fun. All in all good vibes.

im valkyrieP…… i feel like being a valkP goes hand in hand with being a reiP. the aesthetics just match up. but not only that, their DYNAMIC ITSELF…. everything that is going on between mika and shu……. idek, it’s just very compelling to me, when i was reading their stories i kinda hated shu but the more it progressed and i grasped his character, i literally fell in love with this guy. im a big fan of imperfection, i don’t think everything has to be black and white. and shu is so incredibly human… i just loved witnessing his development, it had to be one of my favorite things ever. and then mika’s too like GAH. I LOVE THEM. AND ADD EX VALK INTO THE MIX. OH MY GOD. the entire valk timeline is a true masterpiece.

and then my other faves are natsume ( he is my second fave idk why i put valk first although i love valk an abnormal amount ), literally all the eccentrics… after reading meteor impact, i fell in love w kanata and he is also a very interesting personality. and wataru too of course.

and my sons. my sons are yuta, hinata, kohaku, and hiiro. so cute T__T !!!!

then characters i just think are hot are madara and rinne. worst part about this is they are also incredibly interesting characters, especially rinne!!! like the amount of depth with these two is insane, everyime they appear in a story im like what is up with these guys !!! but they are also eye candy. sorry.

now you’re thinking. writer, where is switch. okay i love switch’s songs and i love natsume, and i love their little found family dynamic. WHICH YOU WOULD THINK I WOULD PRODUCE THEM…… buuuut… scratches head. i have a huge affinity for natsume while the other two members.. are kinda buried beneath a bunch of other characters so i would feel like a fake saying i produce switch when i do not have the same amount of emotions for them all.

ok wow, speaking of obvious things I wasn’t paying attention to, I just noticed for the first time that the aikatsu system is suspended on a platform over a giant, flooded ruin of an amphitheatre.

I always thought it was just a tile floor in a weird pattern, it’s only on screen for a second so I never bothered to look closely. but that pink ripple isn’t just light, it’s an actual ripple of water... and there’s a pillar below going waaaaay down that holds up the platform, and blocks of stone tumbled around over there on the side... that’s actually really scary, haha!! Kaguya’s def my fav sis but Sakuya’s def way more likable in this ep. although I guess that too is part of why I prefer Kaguya, haha... Sakuya’s explanation of her moon princess status to Mika was very sweet though.

I’d thought some of the lyrics of Have a dream were pretty silly, but now that I know this ep’s background for them they bother me significantly less. which is good bc I like that song a lot otherwise!

I like Reflect Moon’s miracle dress a lot too (the horns are literally my fav accessory in all of aikatsu, ever). and I want them to get their miracle aura someday.... but it doesn’t make a lot of sense for them to get it in this ep, like... they didn’t really achieve anything, Kaguya just started acting weird for a while before Sakuya reeled her back in. but I bet they get the aura anyway bc it’s the end of season and they Have To according to kids anime rules

I’d been wondering why this song wasn’t on the usual Friends stage when it came out, before hearing from Luna that it wasn’t the song they sang in the Diamond Friends Cup. but then every other Friends unit song was on that stage regardless of whether it was in a competition or not, so why are Reflect Moon the only ones that get a unique stage? I don’t mind it at all, I just wish the other units got one too...

oh WOW this stars and chains aura is so beautiful...! the whole performance is really pretty (though I think I like the camera work or whatever in the game better?) and wow WOW their aura just turned into a magic circle!! RM literally could not be more aesthetic for me if they tried. I love all of this. I also love that they didn’t get the miracle aura!!! thank god

Ensemble Stars Superpower AU

Disclaimer:

-I actually made this list just for fun, not wanting people to take it very seriously. If you want to take some ideas of it for your work (fanart/fanfic), you don’t need to tag me or anything (only if you want, of course), I’ll just be so happy if you would send me a link of it, but you don’t really need to. It only will make my day happier~

-If you don’t like something about and you want to change it for your work, I don’t really care, feel free to do whatever you want~

-If any of this superpowers resembles too much of any power of an official work, you don’t need to tell me, I actually was pointed out when making it and I also looked it up to see from where it can be also from. As I said, you can ALWAYS change it at your will.

-It was originally made to be a bnha AU, but I changed it to make the options wider and have more freedom about the universe. But you can change that.

A little about the universe:

-The original units of the game here are separated as training groups.

-The idols in the game are in this universe in the superpower course. It’s divided into two sub courses, the fighting course and the social help course. Some people go on both, and some just go to one of them, depending on their power. The special corp. course only learns to fight and improve their powers on battle. They normally turn into superheroes or work in the military. The social help course uses their power on normal jobs to help people. They normally turn into detectives, doctors, firefighters etc.

Subaru

Electric Manipulation: He’s not very strong, but he can use it good in battles. He also pranks people by burning down lamps and shutting down electronics.  

Hokuto

Light Materialization: This power can turn strong light beams into fine glass-like shards and sticks, which he normally fights using it like a sword, throwing knives or shield. People do confuse it with Ice Manipulation, since it looks very similar and his family is specialized with Ice. Since its weakness is darkness he teams up with Subaru quite a lot.

Mao

Time Traveler: He can travel for a short time back in the past. The maximum he did was going back to one week, but everything changed so drastically that he swore to himself to never going back more than 3 days.

Makoto

Technological Manipulation: He can manipulate any sorta of digital objects that he has his hands on. It’s more of an Electric power but he can’t lash out like Subaru does, since it’s made for very precise work. He uses it more for investigation, but he’s working to use it in battle.

Rei

Mental Manipulation: It’s much like a hypnosis, but stronger, he can manipulate someone actions and speech entirely by a simple touch on the forehead for a good time being. He also can read someone’s mind when using it, but he prefers to use it for good causes. Nowadays he only uses it when Koga goes into rampage modus in his wolf form.  

Koga

Wolf Transformation: He transforms his body into a wolf creature. It’s very large and powerful, but if Koga is very enraged in this form, he can go into rampage modus, attacking everything, not caring if it’s a enemy or friend. Rei helps him to calm down.

Adonis

Sand Manipulation: He attacks with loads of sands, forming into different forms. When he entered Yumenosaki he could only form scary monsters and animals, which people distanced a little from fear. Right now, he’s learning to also make cute forms and help people.  He also when his heart beats too fast from something suddenly, he can break the nearest glass into pieces.

Kaoru

Human Senses Manipulation: He can take out people’s sense but while doing it, he also needs to give up on one of his. People were scared before from him, since there was a rumor that you would lose that sense forever, but it was a huge lie.

Eichi

Psionic: A very wide mental power, it has a bit of every mental power possible. Eichi developed this power very, very young. It’s absurdly strong, so strong that his body can’t follow it. He normally never uses it since its power is uncontrollable and he can destroy himself using it too hard. He promised to himself that when the time comes he will lash out the power and won’t look back. In a group battle challenge he already almost died.

Wataru

Body Shifter (human): His power is limited to only humans that he knows the appearance. But he can imitate their exact voice, quirk and also personality.

Tori

Hypnotic Object Summoner: He can summon a wished object of the victim as a trap. If the victim falls on it (which is normally the case), they fall into a hypnosis state. Since he doesn’t like to fight at all, Yuzuru does the rest of the dirty work.  

Yuzuru

Shadow Manipulation: He can only manipulate his own shadow, but also can stretch it and make it into a physical 3D form. The range depends on how much light is falling, making it 50m long in the normal sunlight. The shadow can’t be touched or hurt, but it can actually touch and grab stuff, making it very strong, but it can be lost if it’s in contact with another shadow.

Leo

Sound waves Amplifier: He uses it to make sound waves of notes so strong that it can attack someone; the notes interfere on how the attack will be (higher notes are more precise and cutting thin attacks; deeper notes are more imprecise and 360° ranged). Normally people do confuse it with Air Manipulation. He also uses outside battle and practice to help with inspiration on his songs even when his group members forbid him since he normally destroys stuff when doing it.

Arashi

Weather Manipulation: A very difficult power to use freely, but they master it perfectly. It also can’t be used all time since it can bring nature into chaos, which is a good excuse for them not to train in school.

Izumi

Ice Manipulation: A charming power, he uses it mostly to make cool shapes in battle. He’s powerful, but he makes his mistakes when nervous.  He also projects random ice thorns on his body when startled or when he sneezes.

Tsukasa

Telekinesis: Very common power on his lineage, but he still needs to learn a lot. He can at maximum lift cars. It’s also very tiring so he doesn’t use that often outside battle and practices.

Ritsu

Dream Wanderer: A Very strong power, but not very effective in battle. He normally uses it to discover people’s subconscious and make his strategies. He also needs to be asleep when using it but the victim doesn’t need it. He also only attends the sub course of Social Help.

Hinata

Neon Manipulation: He manipulates the gas neon, he can store it on his body and shoot strong lasers.

Yuuta

Plasma Manipulation: Likely his brother, but their resource is different. He also prefers to shoot discs than lasers and can make a force field, but it still needs improvement.

Shu

Puppetering: He can control any power of another person that he laces his strings on. The only weakness is that he can’t control the victim’s power if the person doesn’t have the mental consensual. He also is in control of Mika’s power most of the time, so he can’t use his power in its full form, but in a very small fracture of it.

Mika

Magic Eye: His Power comes from his eye and it’s so strong and unstable, that Shu needs to control it with his Puppetering Power.  They’re working on Mika to finally control it alone, but he feels too attached to Shu, so he deep down doesn’t want to improve and is afraid of Shu leaving him.

Chiaki

Fire Manipulation: A powerful young man, who in the past was very scared of using his powers because he could burn people very easily. He learned a lot over the years and now pretty much controls it perfectly.

Midori

Plant Manipulation: He can use his power to make plants grow and move at his will. He’s still learning a lot since a lot of plants demand positive energy to control, and he pretty much lacks on it.

Kanata

Waterkinesis: Very, very powerful mysterious young man. Rumors say that he can even lift the whole ocean if he wanted. But he normally uses his power to play on the school’s fountain.

Shinobu

Smoke Shifter: He can turn his body and everything he’s holding into smoke, making him an excellent young fighter. But he also turns into his smoke form unconsciously when startled or sad.  

Tetora

Super Strength: He is very new to his power, since he bloomed very late. He looks up to Kuro who helps him to master it since their powers are similar.

Keito

Magic Archery: With a bow, he projects powerful light arrows on his fouls. He also has a very precise aim.  He normally doesn’t fight, since it’s still a very slow art of fighting.

Kuro

Corporal Boost: He can boost the speed and power of his arms and legs to give very powerful punches and kicks. But since he’s very pacific, he normally doesn’t use it to attack anyone. He also teaches Tetora to make him stronger.

Souma

Liquidify Metal Power: He can turn any metal into liquid and make it back to solid at will. He also can manipulate and shape it very easily, almost making it a Metal Manipulation Power. He knows that people could use his power for bad things so he learned to have a very strong mind against any mental manipulations.

Madara

Body Shifter (Weapon): He can turn his body parts into any kind of weapon (mostly made by metal). His favorite weapons are long ranged machinery. He’s extremely talented, so he doesn’t train with a group but actually helps groups to train.

Nazuna

Super Jump: Very talented and hard working, he turned miserable very long jumps into too-fast-for-the-human-eye super jumps. Mitsuru says that even him can’t follow Nazuna sometimes.

Hajime

Healing: It’s a very good power but he’s still very young. He can heal Medium-sized wounds, but he still struggles with sicknesses and large wounds. He needs days to complete it. He also is only in the Social Help course.

Tomoya

Animal Whisperer: He can talk with any kind of animal and he’s very good on that. Since it’s not a battling power, he pretty much only stays in the Social Help course.

Mitsuru

Super Speed: He can run in a super fast speed, but he is still learning, so he can’t keep up with Nazuna’s super jumps. He also is very careless, making him trip over things while running.

Tsumugi

Divination: He was a pretty talented boy, but on the second year Eichi had a small incident and Tsumugi was mentally affected. He can’t use his powers since then, but Natsume helps on that by stealing his blocked powers.

Sora

Soul Reader: He can read people souls and know exactly their weakness. He has a little problem by reading very strong power users, he describes as seeing the person having fog around them all the time. But only Natsume knows about this.

Natsume

Power Stealing: He can steal any power he wants, only by a simple touch, but he can maximum use it for a minute. He pretty much uses Tsumugi power to know the things since Tsumugi has a block. He also respects Eichi’s deadly power and he swore to himself to never steal his power and possibly die.

Shin Sakura Taisen The Animation Takes Place Slightly After the Game’s Story

New details on Shin Sakura Taisen The Animation and the Moscow Combat Revue designed by Kaguya Luna character designer Mika Pikazo. Staff, cast comments.

Sega held on January 29 the 11th Sakura Taisen Imperial Communication Department’s Broadcast stream. You can find the full stream here. It was the first stream since 2020 began. As usual, it featured MC Mami Yamashita, Yohei Azakami, who was cosplaying Seijuro, and Producer Tetsu Katano. The stream included many new details on the upcoming anime adaptation, Shin Sakura Taisen The Animation. The Moscow Combat Revue was finally revealed, along with a new trailer, story details, screenshots, and comments from the cast and staff.

First off, here is the trailer, narrated by Sho Hayami, revealing the new characters from the Moscow Combat Revue:

The biggest shock about the anime is how it takes place on Taisho 30, meaning it’s a sequel to the game, which takes place on Taisho 29. Producer Katano said the anime takes place “slightly after the game”. This is surprising as when the anime was first revealed, Sega said it would cover more or less the same story events as in the game. This is fine by me, as hopefully, I will have finished the game by April, but this is a bummer for fans waiting for the game’s localization. Fans who wish to avoid spoilers won’t be able to watch the anime as it airs. This is just a guess though, but I believe the anime won’t spoil the game much and will focus on its own story instead. This was the case with most previous Sakura Taisen anime.

Here’s the story pitch from the Shin Sakura Taisen The Animation official site: “Taisho 30 (1941). The Imperial City, Tokyo, regained its peaceful days. Seijuro Kamiyama, the captain of the Imperial Combat Revue Flower Division, was assigned to Europe, and Sakura Amamiya is temporarily replacing him as acting captain. The Flower Division’s days without their captain are full of troubles. One day, Seijuro momentarily comes back, bringing along a girl named Clara, the only survivor of the Moscow Combat Revue, destroyed after a certain incident. Seijuro transfers Clara into the Flower Division, entrusting her to Sakura Amamiya and the others, who warmly welcome here However, individuals who claim to be the supposedly destroyed Moscow Combat Revue appear in the imperial city. What is Clara’s real identity? And what is the objective of the Moscow Combat Revue? The curtain rises on the Imperial Combat Revue Flower Division’s new battle.”

On stream, we were then introduced to Clara and the Moscow Combat Revue characters:

From left to right: first, we have Clara, voiced by Misaki Watada. Next, we have the captain of the Moscow Combat Revue, Kaminsky Valery, voiced by Akabane Kenji. Lastly, we have his squadmate, Leila, voiced by Haruka Shiraishi.

All three characters were designed by Mika Pikazo. We translated her comments: “When I first heard of Sakura Taisen in my school days, it was already a legendary game. I was overwhelmed by the passion emanating from the series, the cuteness of the character designs, and the myriads of songs. Each member of the Moscow Combat Revue has multiple facets to their personalities and backgrounds. They’re all very charming. Taking all this into account, I put a lot of thought into how to design them. I’m looking forward to how they will interact with the main characters and how their feelings will clash with each other”.

On Twitter, Mika Pikazo added: “This is my first time being involved with anime production, and it’s Sakura Taisen! I’m so excited! I’m so happy the characters I designed will be interacting with Kubo Tite’s characters and the characters created by artists I admire”.

Mika Pikazo shared more illustrations for Clara, Kaminsky, and Leila of the Moscow Combat Revue on Twitter. Mika Pikazo often uses highly vivid colors in her drawings, giving her art an eastern Europe feel at times. This is a perfect fit for the Moscow characters, as the Sakura Taisen series purposefully exaggerates stereotypes.

Personally speaking, I didn’t expect at all that Mika Pikazo would be Moscow Combat Revue’s character designer. She’s 26 and a very new pro artist compared to the other designers on Shin Sakura Taisen: Tite Kubo (Bleach), Yukiko Horiguchi (K-On), Abec/Bunbun (Sword Art Online), Fumikane Shimada (Strike Witches), Noizi Ito (Haruhi Suzumiya), and Shigenori Soejima (Persona). All of these are popular series who originated in the early 2000s or early 2010s that would be considered old by today’s Japanese teenagers, fitting Sakura Taisen‘s old atmosphere. Mika Pikazo, in counterpart, is the character designer of Kaguya Luna, one of the five most popular virtual youtubers in Japan, and, in my opinion, the only one who’s actually funny. This shows how Sega strives to make Sakura Taisen more popular among a younger audience. Besides Kaguya Luna’s design, Mika Pikazo is also the illustrator of an isekai novel themed around real-life magic tricks, titled Saikyou Juzoku Tensei: Majutsu Otaku no Utopia. The manga adaptation is drawn by Asahi Shinomura, yet another great illustrator.

Each of the seiyuu voicing the Moscow Combat Revue also shared comments on their characters:

Comments from Clara’s seiyuu Misaki Watada: “I was so happy when I heard I’d be voicing a Sakura Taisen character I started crying and we all celebrated together at my agency. Look forward to how Clara will interact with the other characters. I’m sure both older fans and newcomers who discovered the franchise with Shin Sakura Taisen will enjoy the anime”.

During the stream, Yohei Azakami mentioned he does know more about Clara, since he already recorded his lines for the anime, but he can’t say anything. He and MC Mami Yamashita jokingly added that Kohei Tanaka would have spoiled everything if he was there.

Comments from Kaminsky Valery’s seiyuu Kenji Akabane: “I got into Sakura Taisen in my school days, after watching Sakura Wars: The Movie. And I never imagined I’d be voicing a captain character one day. I was so surprised and so happy. Kaminsky is a true gentleman, but he’s also a bit weird (laughs). I hope you’re enjoying the game, and are looking forward to the anime.”

On stream, Producer Katano mentioned Kaminsky is a bit similar to Seijuro in the game, mixing seriousness and weirdness. In the anime, Seijuro acts overall cooler and more serious than in the game, seeing he can’t pick any dumb or perverted dialogue choices. Yohei Azakami and Kenji Akabane are both at Aoni Production. Azakami funnily remembered that back when it was decided he would voice Seijuro (this should be over a year ago now seeing how early in development Japanese videogames are dubbed), Akabane was acting super envious, saying he wanted to do it too. I remember a similar comedic scene that happened during a Super Robot Wars stream where they appeared together. Nice for Akabane, he ended up in Shin Sakura Taisen now.

Comments from Leila’s seiyuu Haruka Shiraishi: “The character I’m voicing, Leila, has a complicated past. She’s suffering because of it. Expressing her pain, loneliness and all her emotions in my acting was something quite difficult. Leila becomes more and more interesting as the story goes on, so look forward to the anime, and what kind of choices will she make.”

Next, we were introduced to the Spirit Particle Fighters used by the Moscow Combat Revue. They’re called Ekaterina and were designed by Mika Akitaka, the game’s mecha designer. He designed the five Spirit Particle Fighters Mugen used by the Flower Division, and all the other Spirit Particle Fighters and mecha in Project Sakura Wars.

Comments from Shin Sakura Taisen Mecha Designer Mika Akitaka: “I’m happy I was able to make new mecha designs not only for the PS4 game but for the anime as well. These are the units used by the Moscow Combat Revue, who appears for the first time in the series. Manabu Ono, the anime’s director, asked me to design a mecha that feels reminiscent of a bird. So it looks pretty different than the other mecha. Look forward to the anime.”

A new key visual for Shin Sakura Taisen The Animation was shared as well. It shows Sakura Amamiya, Hatsuho, Claris, Azami, and Anastasia, weapons ready, protecting Clara. Azakami said it echoes the anime’s story.

Comments from Shin Sakura Taisen The Animation Director Manabu Ono: “I’m happy but feeling a lot of pressure participating in Sakura Taisen‘s revival.  However, I’ve fallen in love with the series once again after the meetings for the anime with Sega’s staff and the game’s development team. Sakura Taisen focuses on intense battles, friendship, and love. Along with comedy and hot-blooded story developments. I wish to show all the aspects of the franchise with the anime, so look forward to April 2020.”

Last but not least, Producer Katano, Yohei Azakami, and Mami Yamashita commented on the anime as some screenshots were revealed.

They first explained that the anime’s protagonist is Sakura Amamiya instead of Seijuro, something we already knew. As previously mentioned, Seijuro got assigned to Europe. Katano mentioned Seijuro is with Lancelot and Elise over there.

They also mentioned the anime will give more occasions to shine to Reiji Shiba and Hakushu Murasame. As a reminder, Reiji is the Flower Division’s mechanic voiced by Tomokazu Sugita. Hakushu is Sakura Amamiya’s swordmaster, designed by Soejima and voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro.

This is the Moscow Combat Revue, Kaminsky and Leila, doing Russian Ballet together. They like to dance like this whenever discussing together. Sega also hired ballet dancers to do motion capture for these ballet scenes.

aikatsu friends episode 32 + 33 spoilers (a best friends cup 2-for-1 value set)

(I actually watched ep 32/wrote this when it came out last week, but I forgot this in my drafts till now, oops)

the last of the 3 units in the Diamond Friends Cup will be decided in the Best Friends Cup... I know everyone’s (including myself, really) decided that Honey Cat’s going to be counted out in this round, but it seems so early in the season for them to get out for good when the winner will be decided in one competition at the very end. I feel like even if they get out here, there’s going to be a surprise way for them to get back in the running later. (because if not why would they bother adding Baby Pirates, who are even less likely to have a chance, as playable characters with brands in the game)

I like Honey Cat’s Miracle Dresses fine, but I really don’t like their new song... I’ve played it like 1000 times at the arcade and I’ve finally gotten to the point where I begrudgingly find it catchy, but I’m not super into how it’s obviously emulating kpop and the lyrics have literally nothing to do with friendship. You x Me was super good though... I miss it :(

their aura is nice. their appeal is... better on the game. but where are their actual Miracle Auras? is it just stylized as those not-wings in the game? or did they fail to actually make them appear, despite having Miracle Dresses and a Miracle Appeal...? guess I’ll find out when someone else gets their Miracle Dresses.
