#NATURE ESSAY
"TREASURE"
The Philippines is a country located in Southeast Asia that boasts a wealth of natural beauty. It is an archipelago of 7,107 islands surrounded by pristine blue waters teeming with marine life. The country's beaches and natural landscapes are among the best in the world, attracting millions of tourists each year. From crystal-clear waters, powdery white sand, lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and majestic mountains, the Philippines has it all.
One of the most beautiful and iconic places in the Philippines are its beaches. The country has a coastline of over 36,000 kilometers, with a variety of beaches ranging from secluded coves to busy beach resorts. Each beach in the Philippines has its own unique character and beauty. Some of the most popular beaches are found on the islands of Boracay, Palawan, and Siargao.   Boracay is a small island located in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. It was voted the world's best island in A2012 and is known for its powdery white beaches and crystal-clear waters. The island's main beach is White Beach, a 4-kilometer stretch of powdery sand that is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and water activities such as parasailing and banana boat rides.
The island is also home to other beautiful beaches such as Puka Beach, Diniwid Beach, and Bulabog Beach, which are less crowded and offer a more secluded atmosphere.   Palawan is another popular destination in the Philippines known for its stunning beaches and natural wonders. The island has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park and the Tubbataha Reef Marine Park. Palawan has pristine beaches such as Nacpan Beach, a 4-kilometer stretch of powdery white sand that boasts clear turquoise waters. The beach is perfect for swimming and sunbathing and offers an excellent view of the sunrise and sunset.
Other notable beaches in Palawan include El Nido's Seven Commando Beach and Coron's Malcapuya Island.   Siargao is a hidden gem in the Philippines that is slowly gaining recognition for its beautiful beaches and world-class surfing spots. The island is located in the province of Surigao del Norte and is known for its Cloud 9 waves, one of the best surfing spots in the world. The island has numerous beaches, such as Daku Island, Naked Island, and Guyam Island, which offer a more quiet and secluded atmosphere.   Aside from the country's beautiful beaches, the Philippines also has a wealth of natural attractions that are worth exploring. The country has a diverse landscape of mountains, forests, and waterfalls that offer a different kind of adventure to visitors. Some of the popular nature destinations in the Philippines are the Banaue Rice Terraces, Mount Pulag, Mayon Volcano, and Pagsanjan Falls.
The Banaue Rice Terraces are a man-made wonder that is often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. It is located in the Cordillera mountain range and is made up of thousands of terraced rice paddies that have been carved into the mountainside. The rice terraces are 2,000 years old and are still being used by the locals to grow rice.   Mount Pulag is the third-highest mountain in the Philippines and is located in the northern part of Luzon Island. The mountain is surrounded by a virgin forest that is home to various plant and animal species.
The summit of Mount Pulag offers a stunning view of the sunrise and the sea of clouds, making it a popular hiking destination in the country.   The Mayon Volcano is an active volcano located in the province of Albay in the Bicol region. It is known for its near-perfect cone shape and is considered one of the most active volcanoes in the Philippines. Visitors can hike the volcano and enjoy a panoramic view of the surroundings, including the nearby towns and bodies of water.   Pagsanjan Falls is a cascade of waterfalls located in the town of Pagsanjan in the province of Laguna. Visitors can ride a canoe or bamboo raft to reach the falls and experience the thrill of going through the rapids. The falls offer a beautiful view of the surrounding forest, and the cool water is perfect for swimming.
In conclusion, the Philippines is a country blessed with natural beauty that is unmatched by any other. Its beaches, mountains, and waterfalls are among the most stunning in the world and offer a different kind of adventure to visitors. The country's natural wonders are a testament to its rich cultural heritage and diverse ecosystem, making it a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature.

BEST BEACH VACATION IN THE PHILIPPINES
The Philippines is a country rich in natural wonders, best beach, and tropical forest. The country has the largest archipelago in the Pacific Ocean and many of its islands are known to be some of the top beaches destinations in Asia.
Beach holidays are the perfect way to escape from the hum-drum of daily life. Your mind, body and soul need some time away from work, school, or your bustling city life. If you’ve ever considered taking a beach vacation but aren’t really sure what place to go to then read these top beach recommendations of my favorite getaways in the Philippines!
Tumblr media
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES IN THE PHILIPPINES
Boracay Island
Looking at the pictures of this beautiful island, you would think that it is simply paradise. It is surrounded by water and white sandy beaches. I am sure if you have ever visited Boracay, you agree that its crystal clear waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
It’s hard to deny the appeal of a tropical island getaway, especially if you come from the cold and stressful world of work. But it’s not always easy to find a place that has both beautiful scenery and is an enjoyable experience for you and your family.
With its silky-soft warm white sands, clear blue waters and beautiful tropical climate, Boracay surely deserves a place in the top 15 of most beautiful beaches in the Philippines.
They provide a variety of lodgings to fit everyone’s needs. White Beach, for example, has three stations. Station 1 features luxury resorts, Station 2 has mid-range resorts, and Station 3 includes backpacker-friendly hotels. Drool-worthy restaurants, on the other hand, are dispersed among the three stations.
White Beach is also an excellent location for shopping and experiencing Boracay’s nightlife. There are some beaches that are more tranquil and vast, such as Puka Beach. There, you may participate in kayaking, swimming, or even receive a nice massage
Best Beach Coron, Palawan
When not at the strange islands of El Nido, visitors go to Coron in northern Palawan. Unlike El Nido, the islands of Coron radiate a more laid-back and homely ambiance that is appreciated by budget travelers and nature enthusiasts.
There are at least three island-hopping cruises available that will take you to the town’s gorgeous white sands, abundant marine life, and the most Instagram-worthy tropical landscapes you’ll ever see. Destinations such as Malcapuya Island and CYC Beach—Coron’s only public beach—are ideal for snorkeling and getting up close and personal with breathtaking coral reefs.
Mahinog Island Camiguin
Mahinog is a town in the province of Camiguin (Northern Mindanao) in the Philippines, some 456 miles (or 734 kilometers) south-east of Manila, the country’s capital city. Camiguin, an island, was formerly considered secluded but is now one of the Philippines’ most popular tourist destinations. With so many Instagram – worthy Camiguin tourist sites, the Island Born of Fire becomes the Island on Fire.
Camiguin is well-known for its tourist attractions, which include White Island, Mantigue Island, Mount Hibok-Hibok, and the recently named National Heritage Sites, the Bonbon Church Ruins and the Sunken Cemetery. Camiguin Island has kept its rustic appeal despite being a famous tourist destination.
Santa Fe Bantayan Island Cebu
The beautiful beaches of Santa Fe will revive your mind, body, and soul. Visit secluded stretches of white beach, swim in crystal-clear water, or take a boat to tropical islands to get away from the crowds.
Santa Fe is one of Bantayan Island’s three main communities. It is located in the island’s southeast corner and is conveniently accessible to the island’s other attractions.
Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines
Great Santa Cruz Island is a little inhabited island in Zamboanga City in the Philippines’ southern region famed for its pink coralline beaches. The island, located 4 kilometers (2.49 miles) south of downtown at the Santa Cruz Bank in the Basilan Strait, is one of the Philippines’ few pink sand beaches.
With its 7,641 islands, the Philippines is one of the world’s most popular beach destinations. Aside from the famed White Beach of Boracay Island, the Philippines offers other powdery soft gorgeous white beaches that surround the main island groups of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
The Philippines is a great destination for beach lovers. With over 7,000 islands, you can find something for everyone. From stunning white sand beaches to crystal clear blue waters, the Philippines offers something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation or a more adventurous one, the Philippines has it all.
The beaches of the Philippines are also great for snorkeling, scuba diving, and other water sports. The locals are known to be friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. So why not take a trip to the Philippines and experience its amazing beaches? You won’t regret it!

Pause The Journey
(A Bucket List Journey)
Do you love beaches? Do tan lines, white sands, amazing rock formations, crystal water; good quality of foods excites you? Are you in for an extreme island adventures? Well get your bikinis ready and travel with me through my experiences in one of the most beautiful places in the world -- PALAWAN, PHILIPPINES!
From Cebu it takes 1 hour ride on an airplane to Busuanga Airport and afterwards a van of your chosen resort will take you to Coron, Palawan, City Proper then we rode on a boat for 5-10 minutes to go to an area where our resort (Coron Underwater Garden Resort) is located. In our resort we rented a floating room for family.
Since Palawan is a place where you can see beautiful islands and beaches the common transportation is a boat and coastguards are very strict on the safety of the people that is why they will check if passengers are wearing a life jacket. You can also rent a kayak, googles and snorkeling equipment to best enjoy the island activities. Lastly, they have package tour (for islands and beaches) that you want to go to with a lunch buffet.
TIP #1: choose a package tour island and beach adventure so that your tour will be spontaneous and you can choose famous tourists spots. And specially in  package tour, lunch is included (seafood, rice, meat and etc. )
CORON, PALAWAN
Tumblr media
For our first tour we went to Malcapuya Island, where fine white sand that is perfect for picture taking and relaxing.
Tumblr media
It is a bit windy but the place is worth it
It is located 2 hours away from the town of Coron. Most tour groups around town offer packages going to Malcapuya Island. It is usually packaged with Bulog Dos and Banana Island. The boat ride to this island can be a little rough because of the strong waves but it is definitely worth it. The boats will dock at the back beach which is not as nice as the main beach. A short walk will lead you to white sand beach facing west. Among all the beaches we have visited so far, Malcapuya’s sand rivals Boracay’s. It is as white and as powdery as the one in White Beach, Boracay. Credits to https://thelostkids.ph/2016/03/13/malcapuya-island-palawan-powdery-white-sand-island-in-coron/
Tumblr media
Twin Lagoon is where you can see clear water and beautiful rock formations that is instagrammable.
Overall, I can see why Twin Lagoon is so popular. It is lovely to swing through, probably especially when there are not jellyfish blooms, and it is hard to imagine anywhere in the world that looks quite like it. Though I wish I had seen it in the early morning hours without people, I am still glad I saw it, crowds and all. If you are island hopping in Coron, definitely stop by and give it at least an hour of your time. Be sure to bring your (waterproof) camera, the pictures are amazing. From https://www.bemytravelmuse.com/twin-lagoon-coron-palawan/
Tumblr media
Next stop is the Kayangan Lake, with a crystal water and beautiful scenery.
Tumblr media
This picture was taken before we went to El Nido. You can see through our faces that we enjoyed our experience and we spent more time and bond for each other.
We spent 3 days and 2 nights in Coron and we travelled via fastcraft to El Nido, Palawan. Trysicle is one of the transportation in El Nido with a fare of 50-100 pesos depending on where you will go.
We booked a nearby French inspired hotel that caters different variety of Filipino, American and French cuisines or dishes.
 EL NIDO, PALAWAN
Tumblr media
A view from our hotel in El Nido
Tumblr media
Our tour starts at Snake Island it is called snake island because when low tide you can see a sandbar that looks like snake.
Tumblr media
TIP #2: if you want to pay less on a boat ride for island adventure never take a private or exclusive ride because it is very expensive, like for us we spent 20-30 thousand pesos per ride for the boat that is exclusive only for us family.
Tumblr media
Next is Small and Big lagoon is a lagoons with beautiful limestone formations with clear water the best way got explore here is through kayaking because there were small passage. You can also do snorkeling and swimming to relax and enjoy the water and scenery.
Tumblr media
Me and my cousins in the lagoon
Tumblr media
Bikinis out and let your confidence reign
Tumblr media
And the last stop is PaPaya Island where you can enjoy more and do things you want to do like picture taking, swimming and eating.
Tumblr media
Enjoying the swing and island life in PaPaya Island
Tumblr media
Lunch buffet
Tumblr media
Family picture last dinner in El Nido before we go home to Cebu
Palawan is my dream destination ever since and I finally achieved my bucket list which made me happy. It was my unforgettable experience and forever stays in my heart. I hope you like it!

Calamian Group of Islands are dot-like figures in the Philippine map but these islands naturally and humbly flaunt their rich marine biodiversity and a history muted by time and political revenge.
The Calamian Group of Islands is surrounded by a group of islands and isles along Sulu and West Philippine Sea. Among its islands are the famed Coron Island, Busuanga Island, Calauit Island, Malcapuya Island, Banana Island, Pass Island and the historic Culion Island. There are a number of isles that is close to each other making it akin to Bohol’s Chocolate Hills.
CORON ISLAND
Coron’s famous Kayangan and Barracuda Lake are natural swimming pools nestled in Coron’s towering limestone formations. The waters are so clear that even without dipping, you can see what’s underneath. Along the deep and calm waters of Coron are shipwrecks (mostly from World War II). These wrecks are now enveloped by various species of fish and corals. Also in Coron are lagoons distinct from each other. These lagoons are good for kayaking.

CALAUIT ISLAND
Get a taste of Kenya, Africa at Calauit Safari Park, home of lofty giraffes and zebras that will surely make your heart beat faster when you have a close encounter with them. Calamian deer, eagle, a phython, monkeys, tortoises, etc are some of the cute faces you’ll face in Calauit Safari. TIP: Try not to ride with that “vintage jeep” as it has been said to have a brake problem. Mere picture taking with it is okay. Okay?
The vintage jeep in Calauit Safari Park
Is there a thing sweeter than this two giraffes?
MALCAPUYA ISLAND
Been searching for that long stretch of fine white sand beach coupled by a serene ambiance in a secluded island? Worry no more! The more than an hour boat ride is worth it. Malcapuya Beach will vanish your worries away as you dip your tiny feet on the calm seas and fishes are ready to massage you. Feeling lazy? Not a problem. You can rest at the hammock and let the cool salty wind swing yourself. You can also just “sit still, look pretty” on the fine sand while the sun is kissing you hi and sipping your sweet “buko juice”. Let the sound of the waves and trees be the lullaby to your ears.
TIP: • Try to join the “snorkeling” activity commissioned by the island’s caretaker for only P 100. You will be hauled by a small outrigger to the coral garden where fishes, giant clams and distinct corals await you. • Try to walk around the island to get that best 360 views.
Tumblr media
Giant Clam Garden
BANANA ISLAND Same with El Nido’s Papaya Beach, Banana Island don’t have a single banana tree, fyi. It is said that the island’s shape is akin to that of the shape of the banana leaf. Banana Island’s beach is a home for various species of giant clams of distinct sizes and hues.
PASS ISLAND
Another stretch of fine white sand with coral gardens sheltering distinct schools of fish coupled with Lusong Gunboat Shipwreck which is now enveloped by corals.
CULION ISLAND
Concurrent to Culion’s rich marine biodiversity is a history worthy to be praised and commemorated. Way back in 1904 when Culion become the country’s national dumping ground for leprosy patients. IF YOU’RE HAVING A BAD DAY, REMEMBER THIS: Leprosy was then a dreaded disease and lepers are compulsorily segregated and isolated in Culion. NO excuses, they have to leave their loved ones and start a new life in an isolated place. Salute is given to various groups of people who answer the call of duty when everyone declines. To those who prefer to serve their fellow Filipinos when opportunities outside the country have greater value. More of Culion on ….
Welcome to Culion with the then Philippine Health Services now Department of Health logo made by lepers.

MT TAPYAS
At 210m after 721+ steps, Mt Tapyas is the second highest peak in the island of Busuanga. From the town proper of Coron, you could see Mt Tapyas’ giant cross and letters C O R O N. After enduring the 721+ steps in a man-made, cemented trail, you will be awe by the stunning sunset that makes the isles turn to gold. You can see tourist of different ages and races hiking up because of their passion of chasing sunsets.
Golden hour in Mt Tapyas
DCIM103GOPROGOPR3566.JPG
Enveloped by islands and isles, island hopping in Calamian is a superb experience because the waves are so calm. The islands are a sight to behold. Every destination is not just worthy of your Instagram and Facebook hashtag but will surely make you fall inlove with nature over and over again. Breathtaking? Amazing? Nah… That and many more adjectives are just an understatement of Calamian’s beauty.

Coron: Home of the Paradise
Tumblr media
Coron, Palawan is one of our favorite places in the Philippines. My first trip was last February, 2019 and this place is special. This islands has become most well known because the shipwrecks from World War II that entombed off the shores of Coron.
Coron is one of the largest town located at the Island of Busuanga. It is known as the most beautiful island in the Philippines because of its crystal clear water, the beautiful nature of the rock formation and the home of one of the most photographed spots in all of the Philippines.
The first place to visit in Coron is to get to the highest viewpoint and take a photo. It has a little trek that leads you up 742 steps to the summit of Mt. Tapyas. You will also see the giant ‘CORON’ sign on the hill below a giant cross that is covered in lights and quite beautiful and impressive at night.
From the summit, you could also spot and visit the Maquinit Hotspring located along the southern coast of Busuanga Island, where you can relax and enjoy the tub theraphy playing within 38 to 40 degrees celsius.
After you enjoy the tour from the city, you can directly go to the port and hire a boat and visit Kayangan Lake known as one of the clearest lakes in Asia. Barracuda Lake also known as ultra clear lake, this lake also features like hot spring, underwater mountains and less visited.
While visiting the most clearest water in all the Asia, don't forget to visit the Malcapuya Beach, Twin Lagoon, especially the main attractive part of the tour, the Japanese warships at the bottom of the sea in Coron, where you can find 12 shipwrecks from the WWII.
There's a lot to do and places to go in Coron, but most important is that you’ll enjoy every single step that comes in your way. The deeper you look the more breathtaking sights you will find here in Coron, Philippines.

January 16, 2019-Wednesday, we went to Clark International Airport for our flight in Coron, Palawan. I am so excited because it is my first time to ride an airplane. From Angeles Clark to Francisco B. Reyes Airport it takes one hour to arrive in Coron, Palawan. As we arrived in the Airport the van is waiting for us and send us in Coron Soleil Garden Resort. It takes long time to reach the Hotel but were here in Coron, Palawan. We eat our lunch outside the hotel. After we eat our lunch, our mission is to get some rest for our travel tomorrow. But with my cousin we choose to spend our time to swim at the hotel pool. After we swim we take some rest in our room . We left our hotel for our dinner. After our dinner everybody is tured so we choose to sleep early to get full rest.
January 17, 2019-Thursday, today was a travel day, much like yesterday. Everybody was woke up ti get ready for our first travel here in Coron. But before we leave the hotel we eat our breakfast in Soleil Resort. After our breakfast the van is waiting for us to send us in the port for our first day travel. As a result we wanted to get an early start so we could arrive early in our first destination which is Kayangan Lake. But before that l, the speaker in port orient us for us to assure our safety. From the port to Kayangan Lake we travel about 30 minutes. And now finally arrived in Kayangan Lake! The trip was long but were finally here. We got off to the boat to feel the clean and fresh water of the lake. We went at the main destination of the lake which is the Kayangan. We climb up about 300 steps to reach the main destination and after a minute we feel the flow of the water and we can finally swim and feel the lake. The water is so good because you can see some fishes swim with you. We have only one hour in the lake and we will go back to the boat for our second destination so we maximize our time to enjoy the lake. Our second destination was the Luluyuan or what they call Barracuda Lake. We climb again for 10 minutes to reach the Luluyuan Lake. Luluyuan lake is slightly dangerous because it is so deep to swim around. But we have our life jackets so we can swim and feel the freshness of water. As a small addition they call it Barracuda because sometimes you can see the Barracuda fish around the lake. Barracuda is a type of fish that has a three meters long. As time passed we leave the lake for our next stop which is the Twin Lagoon. Twin lagoon is one of the tourist attraction here in Coron. The water in twin lagoon is so clean and different from other lake that we have seen. We have tried some activities in Twin Lagoon like kayaking and snorkelling. There is a part in twin lagoon that you can swim without life jackets. Well, twin lagoon is also the most tiring destination because we have to walk around the water to reach the lagoon. Our boat can not reach the lagoon because the water is not so deep so our boat stay at the deep part of the water. After an hour we have decided to leave the lagoon and go to eat our lunch in Coron Banuang Daan. We have eat our lunch in the island and have some rest for the next destination. Out last destination was the Shipwreck Diving Area. Shipwreck is one of the most tourist attraction in Coron, Palawan. As we arrived in the area we have seen some foreign divers so we know that th shipwreck is beautiful and exciting. We use our snorkles to see the figure or the structure of the shipwreck. The shipwrecks of Coron Bay are a series of impressive wreck sites for diving and snorkelling in Palawan. There are 12 sunken wartime ships at the bottom of the ocean, the result of an attack on the Imperial Japanese Navy by US Navy Aircraft during the Second World War in September 1944. Also in Shipwreck you can see different kinds of fish. After an hour we need to go back to the boat and go to the port so we can arrive early as much as possible. After a minutess we arrived in the port at 4 pm. At the same time we have sent in hotel to have some rest for our first travel in Coron. As we arrived in the hotel we use our time to swim at he pool so that we can enjoy the pool. After that we choose to take a bath and get some rest. At this point we have to eat our dinner and we have decided to eat outside the hotel ti walk around and explore. After we eat our dinner we have to rest and get ready for the next travel.
January 18, 2019-Friday, today is our second day travel in Coron. In our first travel we went in fresh waters, today we will go to the famous white sand beach in Coron. Same time the van sent us to the port to start for another adventure. Our first time stop was Bulog Dos Island. But before we reach the Bulog Dos we encounter the rough sea. And finally we reach the Bulog Dos. Our adventure in Bulog Dos is so fun because we have try the snorkelling in beach. We have spent the 20 minutes in snorkelling and see some kinds of fish. Before we leave at the Island we take our chance to took sime pictures with my family. Our second destination was Banana Island. We also eat our lunch in Banana Island. The water in banana is so clear and the air is so relaxing. We choose banana islang to get some rest and get ready for our last destination. Our last destination for the day is the Malcapuya Island. Malcapuya Island is like a little Boracay. We tried also the snorkelling at the middle of the beach. It is te worst adventure that I have experience because we stock at the middle. And it is dangerous beacuse the sea is so rough and you can feel the waves that hits you hard. We are not inside the boat, we are in the water holding the rope of the boat and it is so cold. After a few minutes one boat come to us and help us. I’ve enjoyed the snorkelling because I’ve seen different corals and fishes. And now it’s time to go back again to the port and to the hotel. We arrived in the hotel late because we encounter again the rough sea. For the last day we enjoy the pool at the hotel and buy some souvenirs.
January 19, 2019-Saturday, it was finally time to leave Coron, Palawan and head for Angeles Clark International Airport. As a result we arrived in Angeles during daylight. This experience is so memorable.
