My wills and trusts professor: “So here’s this really long tangent about how you need to add this in your will because of subsection (a)(b)(c)(d)…”
My real estates professor: “Before buying a house, you gotta take out the covenant 103.4 document, which you can get if you first file a Mortgage A31.4…”
My entertainment law professor: “Spawn, the superhero created by Todd MacFarlane, was once a man named Al Simmons who made a deal with Satan after he was assassinated and his soul sent to hell. Fun fact, Neil Gaiman was brought in by MacFarlane to write for Spawn, which led to the creation of Medieval Spawn…” (no joke, this was part of his lesson to explain work-for-hire contracts)

medieval verse.
from simple nobles to monarchs, in this verse abel's family rules over a kingdom. everything is pretty much the same as in the main verse. cain grew up poor. his mother died when he was a child and his father turned into a corrupt man who used his son until cain betrayed him. he meets the young prince, named abel, and manages to weasel his way into his family when he was only 16 (a year after getting his father hanged). at first cain was a mere servant, tending to the royal garden. he worked 10 years for them and over time, he gained the trust of not only abel but the king and queen as well. with his witty mind and strategic ideas, he eventually proved himself and became an advisor at the age of 26.
this wasn't enough for cain though, he wanted more. and so, he eventually decided to poison the king, slowly and carefully, until he fell ill and passed away one day, so abel would take the throne. the sweet, gullible, and easy to manipulate prince, and by his side, his oh so trustworthy advisor and best friend cain. surely, nothing could go wrong? and surely… cain didn't plan to claim the throne for himself? let's say... abel had a horrible accident, would the queen — who already thought of cain like her second son — become desperate enough to lay the future of the kingdom in his hands? the only thing possibly ruining his plans; a vampire lady wanting to rule the kingdom as well.

i was thinking too about how some of the greatest works of epic oral poetry came from cultures that had very little in the way of great physical & architectural traditions. hmm.
