I'm actually kind of mad after wearing a knee brace (with patella support!) for 2 days because I just went down for breakfast not wearing it and my kneecap was wobbling loosely in its socket like it's done for years and I could FEEL how wrong it was and just had the biggest "you LIVE like this??!" moment and now i GUESS I am wearing a knee brace every time I go near stairs forever because it turns out it's not ideal if parts of your body have their own plans for every joint movement.

#mad at myself for not even noticing it was weird even though I've known I have the stretchy joints for years now #honestly I need a full like. Scientific observation from behind glass hooked up to machines and doing silly little tasks for science week #please find out what is happening in here #I also got 1 ankle support and out of curiosity slept in it last night #and omg one foot resting upright made me realise how much the other was flat on the bed #when I lay on my back #the same thing that got me diagnosed in the first place #the rheumatologist who'd just told me I don't have cancer because of the bloodwork had me lie down to examine #he took one look at my flat fuck friday feet and like actually yelled in alarm and recoiled #which took some explaining #anyway he poked and prodded me but he already had said 'oh you have hypermobility and it's given you fibro' #this is why specialists also have to keep up with all the other medicines too :P #(i spent a weekend with my medic friend recently and she has Stories oh my god) #(was too busy talking to look at my feet even as I told her I'd dislocated my ankle and knee as we talked XD) #POINT IS I'm very slow to notice things about my condition #I quit chocolate for a year because I worried it was giving me migraines #and was too busy having migraines to notice the chocolate wasn't what gave me migraines

mmmm I have like 3 medical professionals I need to call and two involve like. reaching out to the offices I went to in [redacted birth city] and having my files sent to [where I live now] AND finding a new optometrist + dentist

#hhhhh I hate phone calls so much #but a) my glasses are no longer the right prescription and I just have a constant low grade headache now with more migraines than usual #and b) I still very much have cavities that need to be dealt with before my teeth crumble in my mouth or rot lmao! #and c) I can get the referrals I need from my GP as miserable as it is to deal with her #I think. I'm gonna talk to her abt going back on t and or getting a hysterectomy because I am dysphoria georg and I've put it off for years #:( I wish I had like. a medical case manager yknow? someone to help me deal with doctors and specialists and help me make the appointments #oh I also should probably mention to my GP that I may have a CSF leak/ have had reoccuring CSF leaks #:/

its really good that I took today off because not only did I start getting treatment for the tooth pain and have the time to prep the new storage unit, I also made a bunch of health care related calls and avoided a potentially disastrous appointment time. but goddamn managing your health appointments even with relatively mild chronic issues is such a hassle if you have multiple providers

#like 3 years ago she had a really bad reaction to the covid vaccine #it went away after a few days but then she got her booster and it came back and never left #and for three years shes gone to so many doctors who have literally zero answers for her #and the vaccine gave her all the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis in 2 days #which isnt how ra works at all #and every time she thought she had the answer it was wrong #and now shes just given up #shes had so many mris and cat scans and blood tests and physical exams and been to so many fucking specialists #and she just gave up #shes accepted that she will never have the answer and is focusing on treating the symptoms and living her life with her new normal #and i want that so badly for myself #to just be able to give up and live with my chronic pain and migraines #but i also need an answer #bc i hate unknowns #i just #i fucking hate the medical system and i hate the shit my moms had to go through #and the amount of our savings shes had to use to try and fail to find an answer #shes doing okayish physically i think #but she messed up her body a lot when she was a teen (ballet) and never treated that and her immune system is shit #and now all of this and its just #i feel so bad for her and i hope i dont have to deal with any of htis in the future but #who knows #tw medical #grahhhh i fucking hate . being sad
